I dread going into Mac, and even weaned myself off a lot of the products because shopping there is usually so unpleasant and time consuming (since no one ever wants to help, and they hide away the products like you're a child who can't be trusted.) when I do need something from Mac, I order it online since the shipping time is practically less than the waiting-for-live-assistance wait. However, today my coworker, who has a pro card, needed to stop by this store to get a few things. And I was actually pleasantly surprised. We were greeted the minute we walked in, and a very friendly, nice man helped my friend out and was sure to ask me if I needed anything. All the girls smiled and acknowledged us in some way. I've had some pretty bad experiences at Mac before.. The nasty glares, nobody wanting to assist you, rude workers and such. I went in today and I cannot remember her name but she was a blond woman and she was so attentive and nice!! Got everything I asked for no problem, helped me pick out a concealer, made great convo and was just a really nice lady. I go there about twice a month and their service is mediocre. I've had better service at even the mac counters or the riverside pro one, idk why it's so bad here. I went here last week and a ghetto SA actually pushed out of the way while I was I was looking at eyeshadows. Its a hit and miss but anyways today i went to do the back2mack program and pick up 2 eyeshadow refills. I felt she didnt feel like helping me. You do get that vibe you know. It was all awkward for me.. I didnt spend alot but I am a loyal customer who buy tons from Mac. If I didnt have to do back2mac online shopping is best for me if I know what I want. The guy there I dont know what his name is. He is a sweet heart... I need to back2mac again I just hope I dont get her. I've been incorrectly matched at multiple other MAC locations, but I always end up correcting their mistake at this location and it always goes smoothly! I've learned my lesson now to just come here. I came in the other day and the girl matched me PERFECTLY and even helped me find my new favourite lip gloss. I may have gotten lucky this last time because the girl that helped me out was incredibly thorough and I know the time before, the guy was very quick to rush me out of there (He matched me correctly, which is all that really matters!), but I'm definitely coming back for my yearly MAC purchase. read more

Every time I come into this MAC store I never get helped. I'm 19 years old, but have sort of a baby face so they don't pay much attention to me because they probably figure I'm not going to buy anything. I've been in here multiple times to get gift cards and with my fiancé picking up make-up. It's a super small store and it's always so crowded. People are practically running into each other in every inch of this place. The staff is really friendly and helpful though, but I think it's much easier and less stressful going to the Mac counter in Nordstrom's. read more

When I usually come in it's on my days off from work so I don't always dress up or don't always wear makeup up . That being said most days when I walk in most of that artist don't pay me any mind . Eventually they learned that I dropped over $150 every time I go in and a lot of them were able to tend to me and don't get me wrong on days I got pretty damn good service for that u would give four stars but most of the artist that I use to see are gone so again it's back to waiting up to 25 min just to wait to getting helped . Unbelievable, honestly I hate going into this MAC store, the service is terrible. They stare at you and then when you make eye contact they ignore you. The only reason I had to go into the store is because I had a $150.00 gift certificate that I needed to use, I had it way over a year. To make a long story short...I left went shopping at Macys and came home and shopped online at MAC to use the certificate. End of story. PS I saw a lot of young girls in the store, I guess they are just excited to wear make up and will put up with the rude attitudes, but I know better and expect a more from a sales person. I feel the same as the other reviews. I go to this MAC location frequently because it is closest to my house. Every single time I go in, I am NEVER greeted with a "hello and we will be right with you." Recently I was there in the morning, and there were only two MAC artists, one cashier, and two customers in the store. I literally waiting by the register for 10 min, while the cashier was putting away stock. No one said hello or we will be right with you. Finally, I asked the cashier if someone could help me and she asked the manager who was on the floor if they could help me. I was floored to know that the manager didn't even greet me. Walked in and there were more make up artists than customers and it still took a while for me to be attended. Don't know if its because I had a stroller with me that I wasn't attended right away, I don't mind waiting, I feel I'm a very patient person but it bugs me when people who came in after me are attended before I am. I went in looking for a specific shade of lipglass and it was out of stock as was the next closes shade to it. I was attended by a chubby dark Mexican girl and she was not very polite. She seemed more concerned about selling me other products I wasn't asking for. While she checked the back room another associate asked if I needed help and I asked if they sold white eyeliner. She gave me a blank stare, replied "yeah" and walked away. It seemed like he was just trying to look busy In front of her manager. I've had other experiences at this specific store that were also unpleasant. The associates I encountered didn't really make me feel like I belong. Everytime I come to this MAC store location, I have a disappointing experience. The sales associates are rude, don't offer to help and on the occasions that I've popped in just to grab an item I'm running low on, I've received attitude from the sales team because I'm only buying one thing. I NEVER shop at a MAC store unless I'm in need of something that is MAC store exclusive/sold out at a MAC in Nordstrom because I don't want to be ignored and assisted with an eye-roll or a smug comment. I HIGHLY recommend only shopping at the MAC counters in any Nordstrom location. Those girls have always been knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful every time I stop by (which is often haha). To seal the deal, MAC @ Nordys has a no questions asked return policy which I absolutely love, especially if I'm trying something new. MAC Stores tend to give you a hard time about returning items for a refund/exchange. Treat yourself to a better experience and spend your money at the MAC counter @ Nordstrom at the Montclair Plaza. read more

This is the worst. Waited ten minutes at the counter while me and the three people behind me were ignored by ghetto girls. Go ten feet to Nordstrom to get whatever you need. The MAC artists there are brilliant, classy, friendly, and treat the customer with respect. They are always busy, but take the time to acknowledge you and find someone to assist you. On the other hand, the MAC artists at this store are ghetto, rude, dirty, and extremely mean to everyone but those they are trying to make a buck off of. I spend hundreds of dollars a year on MAC and this place will never get a dime from me. Nordstrom's MAC counter is the only place you need to go. I went in to purchase makeup for my vacation to Thailand and Hadil provided me with the best makeup shopping experience. She took her time to help me choose the right bronzer, foundation, eyeliner, mascara and lipsticks. She even showed me how to apply the makeup and showed me how to apply bronzer on my face so I don't look to white if I get too tanned on my vacation. Rude makeup artists and just completely unfriendly. I spend a TON of money on makeup (been a collector for 4 years and have more makeup than a MAC store) but they treat you like you are thin air up in there. You walk in and everyone is soooooo busy. Staff talking too each other are too busy to help and when you do get their attention they look like they could not be more annoyed with the fact that you are even breathing. I used to be a hardcore MAC girl (still can't pry myself away from limited edition items) but I have definitely taken my a-s-s to Sephora instead on several occasions. Unless im buying online, I hardly bother with MAC anymore. This stuff aint cheap and I don't know when retailers forgot that good customer service sells products (I was a top seller at Victoria's Secret once upon a time). They really need to step their game up because so many good brands are on the move to takeover the game and customer service should not be the reason a product won't be sold. i was going to buy from this store but found out mac is no longer cruelty free. they have decided to do business with countries where they have agreed to take money in exchange for animal cruelty, i.e. do away with their moral value of not testing on animals but rather models--remember that tag line? so i cannot in good conscience buy mac, and it kills me to say so because i love their product but not enough to hold an animal hostage so it can have something painful/harmful rubbed in its eye or anywhere else. we are and should be so beyond this in today's world. this animal use is caveman and has no place in modern society. the scientific world that puts this make up together understands what ingredients are in it and have not been doing animal testing for years! they haven't needed to but now mac decides they want to make more money and choose to do business with countries who violate their very public moral so they throw the moral out into the trash? nice example mac: making animals cornered, you can use this new tagline mac used to be an industry leader in keeping animals from being tested on, and now to just drop that? what, they're not making enough money? really? what if these countries decided they didn't like what vivaglam stood for? hmmm...what would they do then? but then there's that money to be made... read more

The staff here is outstanding. I am onto my third 15 pan eyeshadow palette thanks to the help of the staff here. They make the right suggestions based on my needs, eye color, skin tone and shadows to go along with my current collection. I met Bridget tonight she greeted me right away, made perfect suggestions and was sooooo sweet! I absofreakinlutely love this store and will shop here forever. I had a great experience all around starting with my first phone call. I needed a makeup artist asap and didnt know how is worked at MAC. I called the MAC store outside in the mall and started asking away. The girl who answered was extremely friendly and explained to me the $50 minimum purchase to get my makeup done, for what occasion etc. she answered every single question and even provided additional suggestions. She said i could come in and just get my makeup done but would recommend an appointment so i made one for the following day. As soon as i showed up for my appointment i was greeted and immediately was attended by Anthony. He listened to what i wanted and was very friendly and answered all my questions. He also made changes to my makeup when i wasnt feeling it, like i felt my eyebrows were looking too thick for my liking. And he did this without hesitation or making faces or comments. He was definetly trying to keep his customer happy and give his customer what they want! I loved my end result and i looked flawless in our family portrait. Dee helped me the first time and she was so helpful and greeted me as soon as i walked in. its more out of the way for me but its worth it. and the manager was so sweet.
