Usually when I go to MAC no one at times does not help me nor when they do it sounds like they are forcing themselves to ask. However, Jamie at the Montclair MAC she was so attentive and helped me. I don't know why I come here instead of going to the MAC counter in Nordstrom's. Every time I've been in this store I've had to wait several minutes before even getting assistance. I'm only giving two stars because the one person who helped me was friendly and was able to get me what I needed right away. Unfortunately, I then had to wait in line for 15 minutes because the employee at the register kept asking for help on a return. If i could give negative stars i would. I'm never shopping at MAC again because of this location. Except for one makeup artist, the rest were all gathered in a group chatting with friends completely ignoring customers. I proceeded to get in line to get assistance. ..i waited for 20 minutes (there was only one person in front of me) when it was my turn the girl at the register asked me to wait and proceeded to help one of her friends. I ended up leaving without anything. I've been to terrible MAC locations but this one by far takes the cake. If anyone with any authority reads this please do something about it. So here is the thing... I have had my make up done at several MAC counters (San Diego, Newport Beach, Brea etc.) But I recently came here and man it was just as bad as every one says. I made an appointment to have my make up done WAY in advance of the date I needed. Cool. Then I get there and I had the horrible luck of having Diana Lopez as my makeup "artist". I know her full name because her co-workers made sure they told me since they informed me she was being a complete ass. She was late for the appointment, complaining about a migraine, and then blamed her tardiness on "walk ups" When she came to the chair she threw the makeup down on the table and said "I'll be right back" (this was when her co-workers came to tell me her full name because they didn't want to have anything to do with the situation-mind you I never even asked for her name- people were just volunteering it because they felt so bad). She did not clean the make up or the brushes prior to using them on me and when she asked a co-worker to borrow an "angled brush" her co-worker said "its not clean" to which she responded "thats ok" She cut me off without listening to me and guess what? I didn't get the make-up look that I wanted. It was horrible and what did she say? "love it" the real kicker here? When I got home to look in the mirror to see what I could salvage I noticed 2 orange streaks under my chin. She didn't even blend. My face looked detached from my neck because Diana was having a bad day. I wiped off all of the make up she did since it was almost comical. I did not request her they could have given me ANYONE else but no, I was made to suffer through her disgusting job and poor excuse for make-up skills. read more

I came to Mac around 10:30am. 30 minutes after opening, and there was NO one, to be found to help me. Like literally no one was working here. It's myself and two other women, just staring at each other like, "what are we supposed to do??". After standing around aimlessly, for about ten minutes, I asked a girl from the other makeup counter if she knew if anyone was working the Mac counter. She said "I know she's around here somewhere". Ooooooookay. She eventually showed up and helped me with what I needed. But I don't understand how only ONE person is working the entire Mac counter. And on top of that, that one person is no where to be found?! read more

Then she refused to give me her name so I could complain. I still made a complaint to corporate. What a joke. The company executives need to wake up and see what is going on in this store. Whenever you go to a MAC store or counter it can be a hit or miss experience. Sometimes the "makeup artist" are snobby (even though its a RETAIL job) and they ignore you or make you feel like you don't belong. This isn't the case at this location! The "artist" are really friendly/helpful. They aren't pretentious or snobby at all. This store is always pretty well stocked also. If you have to choose between Brea or Montclair, definitely skip the Brea store. The montclair mall is crap but I will go there just when I need to go to MAC. read more

Every time I go into a MAC store, I'm always ignored and never helped. Maybe it's because I look young and they think I'm not going to buy anything..? I usually shop online, but if I go into a MAC store, I probably have the intention of buying something. Anyway, I came to this location about a month ago on a weekday a few hours after the mall opened. Not very many people in the mall and not very many people in the MAC store, but still a few. There were two SAs and they were both busy with a customer. No one greeted me when I walked in, but I figured it was because they were occupied. I usually go in and swatch a few things before I buy them, so I was standing in front of the eyeshadow display swatching some of the colors. As I was doing so, one of the SAs comes over and shoves her arm in front of me to reach the drawers that I was standing in front of. She does not say "excuse me" or "sorry, I just need to grab something in front of you", she just pushes in front of me and opens the drawer. She even bumps my legs with the drawer. No "sorry" for that either. I move away because I can tell she wants me to move, but she didn't say anything. She didn't even say "thank you" when I moved away. I then move over the the lipstick display because I wanted to swatch Cyber. I pick up a few of the lipsticks and swatch them on the back of my hand and again, the same SA comes toward me and shoves her not-so-thin arm in front of me to grab something from the drawer. AGAIN, no "excuse me" or anything. I don't even get a "we'll be with you in a minute". She just ignores me and continues to grab things from the drawer. I understand that maybe she just wanted to get things quickly to get back to what she was doing, but a quick "excuse me" and "thank you" do not take much time to utter. I probably would have ignored it if it only happened the first time, but it happened twice in the span of 3 minutes. Needless to say, I didn't end up buying anything. Just because you work at a MAC store doesn't give you the right to be rude. I've been taught that customer service is key and being polite and friendly is extremely important. Apparently, they are not taught that very well at MAC stores. I've read a lot of bad reviews and MAC stores have lost a lot of business for the sole reason of the rude people who work there and the poor customer service. MAC has some awesome products, but it doesn't make up for the bad customer service I always run into at MAC stores. read more

I normally like this store. But today I was greeted by you Elena and I must say she was the rudest assistant manager. She told me that it was a requirement for me to have my Mac card when I did any type a transaction. All these years, I have used my phone number as a means of ID along with my drivers license. Elaina has proceeded to scold me with an attitude. I asked who her manager was and she gave me the name of Nikki. And another name of Nikki McGovern. She behaved as though nothing was going to happen about my complaint. I will never come to the store. I would rather go to another Mac counter and get help from someone who wants to work there. After reading these reviews, I was scared to come in here because I thought no one would help me. I was only going in to recycle my products because if you go to a MAC store with six empty products you have a choice of lip gloss or lipstick or eyeshadow - the one in Nordstrom will only give lipstick. I was not greeted when I walked in, and it is a fairly small store, but once I reached the checkout, the lady helped me and wasn't rude about it. I called a few weeks ago to make an appointment to get my makeup done for a maternity photo shoot. The girl on the phone was super nice, patient, and accommodating, and I had to call to switch the time and got the same result with the second girl. Went in for my appointment yesterday at noon, was greeted and helped right away. I got set up with Anthony to do my makeup and he was super nice and sweet, asked me what ideas I had in mind, explained what he was doing along the way, was super patient and polite, and my makeup ended up looking gorgeous. As I was getting my makeup done, all of the girls in the store were super helpful and attentive to everyone that came in, there was zero attitude from all of the employees. MAC has the worst customer service than any place I've been too in my life. I've gone several times already knowing what I want and these unprofessional makeup artist don't know anything about customer service, they don't assist anyone, they feel superior with their pounds of face makeup walking around with a resting bit*% face. They must really hate their job. I get very annoyed and ask them if anyone can help me in a very loud voice because I'm not being helped. I'm also a makeup artist and this is not a way to treat customers. The MAC store from Nordstrom has better customer service, the male makeup artist went out of his way to find me the eyeshadow palet I was looking for, but they don't take the pro student discount card though. I'm a freelance makeup artist that recently moved to the socal area. My previous MAC store is by far the best in customer service and I expected the same for this store but that certainly wasnt the case. I agree with many of the other reviews about this Mac...the ladies that work here sure dont seem to care about their jobs or treat others as if they are doing us all favors and are bothering them with our petty little makeup questions. I usually dont tell them I'm a pro member until im being rung up because i've noticed in the past that when i do mention it, their attitudes change. Not sure why but it's not cool either way. I used to work in CS and treated everyone the same and that should be upheld everywhere. The two gents that work there are definitely the best at what they do and are always ready and willing to help. I believe one of them is named Anthony and they always greet me with a great attitude even when they are swamped. LADIES, take notes from these guys and chill! it's not that serious! Maybe that's whay they have made changes to their sales people but i sure am glad to see the two male make-up artists are still there. I'll continue going to this store because the ladies here are friendly and willing to help. I, too, am a make up artist but one can always learn from other muas. Have an open mind but be firm and let them know what you want and you'll have a great experience. Just don't expect them to be your makeup slave and wait on you like you're royalty. Have I mentioned that I usually go in there looking like a bum and they still treat me just as they would when I look more :: ahem:: presentable? The music can be a bit loud sometimes but you can't beat great and consistent customer service. Arman was very sweet and helpful but my favorite has to be Kristian. Or is it Christian?
