The employees at this Sephora were very nice and courteous to me. I went in for make up 60mins. I will say that my make up artist was really nice . However if I am going in for make up I expected my face to be done correctly . I showed her pic . It was nothing out of ordinary. I was left with not even mascara applied bottom lashes , my eye shadow wasn't blended all way my eyeliner had gap. And eyeshadow application wasn't near what I should her . She kept asking me if I need blush , and I had to tell her to add eyeliner . I am disappointed at this experience and will not be coming back for make up applications and this Sephora . read more

I wondered myself into Sephora looking to see what new items to purchase. I got what I came in for and even decided to get color matched before departing. I have worked at a Sephora prior so I'm expecting great service. As I asked one of the associates, she appointed me to Briana. I let Briana know I have this foundation, love it, but the shade is a bit yellow on my skin (CharlotteTilbury Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation: shade 5.5) As I told her my concern she ended up going up to shade 8 which was a really dark shade. I was a bit confused when she added that shade to my skin as if it was a joke. So I let her know again maybe going down a shade to a 5. She still didn't listen and decided with a 6 Warm. I decided that it was "ok" but still dark & didn't even intend to continue the service. I agreed, took the sample to not be rude, removed the post color and went my way. I'm pretty sure I could of handled myself a color match but its always good to have a second opinion. She made me feel as if she didn't even care to help. Will I go back there, yes, for a last minute item, every Sephora is different. You should never feel intimidated to ask for help or for samples. Sephora needs to be more inviting with the guests and the customer service make you feel comfortable. read more

Got my makeup done once here and it was pretty nice. I had 2 girls work on me because I didn't like how the first one did my eyebrows. Always very accommodating and helpful here with color matches and stock checks. I was able to place the Anastasia Beverly hills Mario palette on hold here and they were selling out! Upon entering, an employee greeted me and asked if i had been to a Sephora recently. She explained the stores COVID regulations and offered assistance. And let me say that i totally appreciated her time, not only was she there at the door waiting for customers and making sure the store was not over crowded, but she made me feel like i was individually being acknowledged as a person. I hate how other stores don't monitor their customer flow and at random run up to customers and tell them to step outside of the door and make a line cus there is no one assigned to their front door. Their regulations were kept on point. Also the employees seemed eager to introduce new products. And I'm happy i didn't go to Ulta because Sephora allowed me to get my LATE BIRTHDAY gift from 8 months ago when the pandemic started! This is a very average Sephora. It's not that big. It doesn't even have HudaBeauty products, which is the very popular, always sold-out brand I get the most of these days, so that's a bummer right there. They seriously need to add the full line of that brand. I have to go to other locations or order online to get what I want half of the time. The employees are about the same at ALL locations and I've been to enough to know...somewhat smug, disingenuine, and not that welcoming. Sales woman angie, around 5'6" cheap blonde balayage with a brown base gave me attitude for no reason. I got to the store, saw she was wearing the uniform and kindly said "hi" to get her attention. She proceeded to ignore me and after reappearing my self three times and waving at her she finally responded with a dry "what do you want?" Terrible, honestly hated this store with a passion. I felt terrible attending this store. I was asking questions about hair product and the girl was helpful and all right. Few minutes pass by I'm looking around for more hair products and I had my ride waiting for me so I was rushing looking for a eyelash curler I needed and ask a lady looks like a manager BLACK HAIR, ethnicity : white, skinny and sort of tall. She said I'll help you in a bit she went around the store and ignored me and I looked for her looking like a complete fool. I notice her telling other employees about me and they were looking at me if I was going to steal ! First of all I'm studying criminal justice back to what I was saying and I was so shocked. She came back to me and sent another employee help me I could tell that she had told her to watch me I'm pretty aware of body languages and certain attitudes which led to knowing that's what's going on As I was paying I was being watched , I didn't feel ashamed I was doing nothing wrong. Never in my life would I think about committing a misdemeanor crime. I just felt upset for the way I was being watched and treated different. I understand about trying to watch for criminals and I know how frustrating it is to see criminals running around doing illegal stuff but I'm not one of them. At first they were going to replace it but then called back and said they checked their cameras and saw the items put in the bag. This is ridiculous! Okay, I previously gave this store a good review but I have had such bad experiences the last couple of times I went. Therefore, I wanted to give an updated review. I came here and purchased an item that was a gift. I asked the cashier to please open it to make sure there were no major imperfections and that it was not used. She opened it and said it looks new. It looked a little odd but she assured me it was new. I ordered the same product online for myself and it looked completely different. I then realized the item I bought in store was used. I was so mad because I specifically asked to make sure it was new. In addition, I gave the gift to my boss. I was so embarrassed when I asked for it back. I had to explain to her what happened. I returned it and purchased it online because I really wanted to give her this specific item. I called corporate to make a complaint and they said they were going to let the manager know and have him/her call me. They never did. Obviously they don't care about their customers. I went in today to make a small purchase and they were having a promotion for a free mask. The cashier was not pleasant she had a very serious face and when I asked her what the free mask did she held it up to my face so I can read it instead of telling me. The worst Sephora experience. I've been to this location 3 different times and each was worse than the last lol. Most of the girls do not put make up on here and look like they rolled out of bed. It's a make up store, so you would expect people to look presentable so that customers can approach them. They might know about make up possibly, however, when you look like you just rolled out of bed no one will take your advice seriously. I shopped at the Montclair Sephora last week, and after waiting for 20 minutes for any kind of help, I ended up leaving instead. Apparently, Sephora's manager, I believe her name was Bri, was too busy berating her employees, to notice I was standing there, waiting for help. I been back here a handful of time since my last review so I thought it's be fair to update my post. It seems like Sephora took peoples input into consideration and changed the staff here. I've gotten my makeup done a few times and each time gotten a different artist but all were nice and did a good job. When I have came in to shop, someone is always around to ask for help and usually do right away unless they are busy, which is totally understandable. The change is definitely good because it feels like a different atmosphere. I wasn't greeted when I walked in but it gave me time to look at stuff on my own without someone asking me what I was looking for, because to be honest there's so much to choose from. But anywaaaays. I just went in and tried to exchange my foundation. I absolutely loved it. I went into this location on March 13th and wanted to see what the hype was about with the Fenty foundation. I never spend more then $10 on foundation. Lol, always have just gone into a Walgreens or Rite-aid. But I treated myself this time. The lady assured me that they have a great return policy. Well last week me and my boyfriend traveled to Hawaii so I thought I would bust out my new fenty. Unfortunately for me the baggage claim people ruffed up my bag and broke it. I recently started shopping at Sephora. I received a GC on Xmas so decided to get a few things. I've heard horror stories about Sephora's workers and how rude they can be or how they treat customers badly etc. I decided to get a new foundation so I went without any makeup, and my biggest fear was getting a rude employee or not get any help at all. I went on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn't busy. I asked one of the employees if she could match my skin color to the foundation, and she was VERY helpful, brought out a machine that scans 3 parts of your face and shows you what skin color you are, I really liked that because I know I would be getting the most accurate match. She proceeds to apply the foundation that matches my skin color and it was perfect! While she was helping me a few customers kept going up to her asking for help, she was by herself so she was letting customers know that. Of course people are impatient and just looked annoyed. She finished helping me and I shopped around for a bit. I like how everything is separated by brand & I LOVE how you can sample just about everything! Overall I ended up grabbing a few items & the employee was very nice and helpful. She also gave me a sample of a product I'm contemplating in buying. I'm glad I had a good shopping experience, definitely will be coming back! I knocked off a star because they should have at least one more employee on the floor since about 2/3 customers were waiting for help. read more
