This is a gem of a small family diner in Webster. We walked in 15 minutes before their posted closing, but the waitress was happy to seat us and was very pleasant, cheerful and helpful. I ordered braised sirloin special which looked like a full 16oz prime rib smothered in mushrooms. It came out perfectly prepared and there was no way I could eat that much beef. There was some chewiness to the meat but the flavor was good and the value was undeniable. My wife had a Shepherd's pie special that was well prepared, generous in portion and tasty. Also ended up taking half that home. We were back for breakfast 2 days later and not disappointed with the huge kit-kat pancake (fortunately did not order a double stack-couldn't finish the short stack) or the Omlet special with yummy crispy home fried potatoes that were heads over tails better than Denny's hash browns. This is a small diner with a real cozy home town family friendly feel with great waitstaff that will make you feel like family. read more

I have been to Maa's a couple of times before when they first opened and every trip here keeps getting better. It is home style cooking and it is good. This place sits right across the street from the movie theaters on Empire Blvd. They have a cool, laid back, diner atmosphere, and a menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This time around we hit there about 11:30 a.m. on MLK Day and things were hopping. We got the last table that was left before people had to start waiting. I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently the wait staff turned the tables over. They were getting people fed and out in a professional and organized manor and everybody was happy. My wife and I both opted for a late brunch. She hit them up for the strawberry pancakes that were perfectly cooked and were so big they could have fed half the diner. I went for a omelet with hash browns and a English muffin and I decided to get crazy and try the homemade corn beef hash. Everything was cooked to perfection and the corn beef hash was outstanding. I have been on a bad streak with some bad experiences and Yelp reviews over the last month. This is my new favorite place. I asked if they had a Turkey,stuffing,cranberry sauce and mayo sandwich. I was told they could make it off menu and they did. Absolutely delish. The wonderful waitress said they may put it on the menu. I even got a wave when leaving from the Chef. Having lived and worked in this area for years I missed this place. Came in for breakfast, sat down at the bar and ordered coffee and an omelette. The food was ok but I only stayed long enough to have about 2 bites. A waitress comes in with a terrible attitude and after sitting there for about 10 minutes listening to her argue with the cook I decided I can't eat here. Who wants to sit down and listen to someone complain and argue, could not handle it. Most annoying experience ever. Horrible atmosphere, ok food. Went here today for the Yelp diner for 4. Had some great conversation, a few laughs and some breakfast. I say "some" breakfast because I can't say it was great. It was just ok. I had 2 eggs (scrambled for me as I like to compare them to other breakfast spots), 2 strips of bacon and 2 pancakes. The bacon was fine - crisp and a little greasy but hey its bacon. The pancakes were quite good and large. The eggs were on the dry side. I've definitely had better. The diner itself is small and can get crowded. When the door opened, a cold breeze traveled through the whole dining room. Not very pleasant. Good thing the coffee was hot and good. Would I go back again? Tried Maa's Diner for the first time tonight. In a word: EXCELLENT! My wife ordered the steak sandwich and I had the hot turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread. My bread looked like it was hand-cut from a loaf and was wonderfully thick. The turkey was piled high and moist and very tasty. I commented that I wished my turkeys at home came out this good. The steak sandwich was also piled high and pretty darn good. The potato chips look as if they were made on premises. Salty, crispy, and full of potato flavor. The place was very busy but the service was prompt and the waitress was as sweet as could be. She acted like we were her only customers. Very attentive with frequent coffee refills. Looks like it was recently painted. Everything was clean and sparkling. This will be a new favorite spot for us!! read more

They use fresh, high quality ingredients and don't skimp on the simple things like sausage links or corned beef hash by taking the cheap way out. No. Just... No. After reading all the great reviews on Yelp and Facebook, I finally convinced my husband to try it this morning. Never again. Everyone working there just seemed absolutely miserable. Not a single smile, not even remotely friendly. The obnoxious pink decor was sickening, there isn't any charm to the decor - it's just cheap looking in this setting. No one was cleaning tables... It was a mess. But, we reserved our judgements hoping that the food would wow us. We love little hole in the wall places that have amazing food. But no. My husband's western omelette was runny, the peppers and onions were completely cold and raw inside of it. My eggs Benedict was so incredibly oily that I literally used a spoon to scoop the oil off my plate. I couldn't even get halfway through it. The English muffin underneath was CHARRED. Inedible. Home fries? Black. Eggs were clear runny and disgusting. The only thing my husband liked was their sausage links: huge! The food was sub par. Has anyone eating here ever been anywhere else? Even Denny's is better (and I hate Denny's). I can't even understand all the rave reviews. Who is coming here?!?! There were fruit flies everywhere. A guy took the newspaper into the bathroom with him for 15 minutes then put it on the counter (where people are eating). And they LET HIM. EW. Not really sure how this has a 4 star rating, honestly this place is kind of awful. The food is not appealing what so ever, nothing spectacular about the taste, I feel like anything on the menu I could probably make at home and make it better. The thing that frustrates me the most about this place is that they trick you into thinking that it's a 50's diner. There is nothing 50's about this place, the decor inside is pitiful, other then the checkered floor tiles just about everything looks like it was bought from party city. Had lunch here yesterday. Ordered the gyro and asked the server for recommendations for the side. She recommended the mashed potatoes and gravy. The gravy tasted really bad. I left the potatoes on my plate and the server asked why I hadn't eaten it. I said the gravy tasted off--she said yeah, they had two vats of bad gravy in the back. Then I heard someone else in the kitchen say the same thing. Why would you serve customers food that has gone bad---and why in the world would you recommend it??? The gyro wasn't good either--fell all apart when I tried to eat it. No apology, nothing taken off my bill. These things are basic and can be remedied. But I won't be back to check. read more

The rating would have been much higher had the welcome been more pleasant, we entered , sat down and then a girl came up , threw the menus on the table , turned and walked away ..... she never said a word . Then a very nice girl named Marcie came , she was pleasant and courteous , she took our orders and worked with due diligence while the first girl flirted with a young man and it did not stop the whole time we ate the delicious meal.... this is a poor way to display affection for another person , it should be on your own time . Meh's diner. Fun little fact about me: Even if your food is decent I won't come back if your attitudes are garbage. Calling in my order while multitasking at Lowes the girl at Maa's said "Hello?!" When I didn't answer in one tenth of a second to her question. Furthermore, the girl at the counter seemed appalled I didn't tip her for bagging my take out. Ummmm am I wrong here or? Never again. One of our very favorite spots in Webster for breakfast. The staff is amazing and you always feel at home with them calling you honey and sweetie. Their food has always been great. Breakfast is your standard fair but always well prepared and very quick service. I have never had a bad meal here and the service has always been outstanding. I have heard that their dinner service is even better so one day we will give it a whirl. I don't have good things to say about any other diner in Webster... so this one get's an A+ from me.
