A friend recommended them, and I'm glad she did. I live in central Austin so this was a bit of a drive, but it was worth it. I was having intermittent connectivity problems between my truck and trailer, to where the left turn signal and then the brakes stopped working. I had brought in just the truck, since they told me when I called that they didn't have room to keep a trailer there. Jeff, the owner, ran a couple of diagnostics on the truck and told me he thought it was the trailer's fault, so he had me go get the trailer and bring it over so he could go over it also, which was what I had wanted to do in the first place. (Because I had already taken it to one mechanic who quickly told me it must be the trailer, and a trailer dealership, who promised me the problem was the truck. I needed someone to look at both together. ) He tried a whole bunch of different things before isolating and fixing the problem. I was waiting there in the shop and he kept me updated on everything he was doing. It didn't take that long. I don't think a regular mechanic could have found and fixed the problem. It turned out that the diagnostic tool he had used didn't replicate the electrical load that the trailer was pulling, so even though that tool said the problem must be the trailer, in fact it was the truck. If he hadn't been willing to look at both at the same time, we wouldn't have known. BTW the truck is a gasser, not a diesel, but that was no problem. He said he works on all types of trucks. Afterwards he told me that even though of course I don't want to drive the trailer without brakes as a general rule, my truck (a newer 3/4 ton truck) could handle it in an emergency as long as I drove carefully, so I shouldn't worry. I found that really reassuring, as pulling a two-ton trailer when its brakes have gone out was pretty scary. I think he could sense that I am a worrier and told me that so I wouldn't worry. Been chasing intermittent codes on a Ford Expedition for 6 weeks. Stopped in at M&M , a well established local repair shop. I left a detailed symptoms write up with the office manager. 20 min later Dale called to discuss my vehicle. I drove straight back to the shop. Dale had me pop the hood. He jumped up under the hood and listened. He then proceeded to reach way into the bowels of the engine and place is finger under a thick covering over some hose. BOOM there was a cracked hose under that covering. He told me what to go purchase at the dealer to fix it. An hour later I installed the part and it's fixed. Dale refused to let me pay him. But , I was amazed at how astute his hearing is and at how he quickly isolated the problem. SHOP LOCAL !! The independents is the way to go for personal professional service !!! read more

M&M is the gold standard for diesel truck repair in the Austin area. My 2001 F350 7.3 had some electrical gremlins that another shop told me couldn't be fixed for less than another $2k worth of work after they had already ran me up over $1k. After explaining my issues to another shop they recommended M&M. M&M diagnosed AND fixed my truck promptly with the only delay being waiting for a part. I didn't get run up, the shop labor is beyond reasonable, and the entire repair only cost $550. After another shop told me it would be at least $2500!!! Heck, they had the truck pulled into a bay before I even left! I gotta talk about Dale the manager/service writer too. He's hands down the best manager/ service writer I've ever had the pleasure of letting work on my equipment, and I've been in the automotive industry since I was a kid. The lobby walls are lined with his achievements and certifications just for starters. He took the time to explain to me in simple lingo every step of the way and every potential. I must have taken over an hour of his time just for him to make me feel comfortable about him having my truck in his shop. Dale pointed out a few other items that need to be fixed and never tried to run me up since he said they were non-critical items. I'll definitely be back to let him fix all of them. I needed a diagnostic on my duramax because i didn't have the equipment to test injectors myself. The service manager was straight and up front about anything, and didn't do anything without asking first. These guys know what they are doing and do it right the first time, they even give you options, if money is a concern. Wish I could put a negative review right now I had two 7.3. 1997 had coolant lines changed an was left stranded on thanksgiving due to improperly tightened bolts, they also referred me to a transmission guy well that was awful after getting that done I was stranded 3 more times due to they didn't know what they were doing either. Had to have it rebuilt 3 more time under warranty in a year. Thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt took my 2001 7.3 to them get front end done and head gasket and I said I wanted all oil leaks taken care of an all intercooler boots changed. Well they missed(what I thought was one bolt from the head cover) took it back to them to go over they claimed that they looked it over an put the bolt back. Well low an behold the boot kept blowing off fixed it myself on the side of the road. Thanks again. Well took the turbo off due to it wasn't getting power well found another bolt miss ( after they said Thet went over it an said they fixed it. Pic if anyone wants. All boot were lose as hell nothing was tight. They even tried telling me I had a dead cylinder after they put the bolt in. Well when I took the turbo off an replaced the turbo pedestal o rings put bolt back on an cleaned out turbo an the line to the turbo no more blow by I wonder hummmm who took it off.......::. Nothing was tighten properly. I spent 4200 an nothing but disappointed. If you like your truck wouldn't bring to here after ole boy died that shop is trash read more

These are flat out very experienced mechanics that do work at an honest price. My first visit to them was when my diesel truck broke down. Which is what they specialize in. They fixed it at a fair price and I am very pleased. I just had my wife's Explorer serviced there as well. The the price for the service actually went down since Greg said that it wasn't as difficult as he originally thought. When was the last time you saw a service bill go down? That is what I mean by honest. They only charge what is necessary and never are pushy on other things. I really appreciate them and are glad that they have their shop in my town.
