I went there for them to replace my head lamps on my car. Needless to say this was not done. They kept calling saying all these things needed to be done to make the car run smoother. They broke the AC. We negotiated about the to replace. They stated my radiator was rusted out. My car had just come from the dealership and the repairs they mentioned was never mention by the dealership. My car. I found out the head lamps were NEVER replaced, but I was charged. The AC works worse than before. I called to discuss. They told me to bring car back and it would take an additional week to repair. My NEW radiator broke down. My oil plug was stripped. They left technician rags under my hood. I spent $3000 and they still did not fix what I brought it in for. Just pathetic. read more

Hi... I wanted to provide some feedback on First Choice Automotive after my service, and it's not great. There are several issues with the $3500 in service work preformed. 1. Serpentine belt makes a scream at start up, which most likely means the pulley alignment is of, or not tight enough. (This is a theme) 2. I opened the hood to look at the belt noise this morning after driving from your shop back to Lago Vista and saw that the battery clamp wasn't put back on after the battery swap and was about to fall into the engine bay which would've caused major damage. 3. This led me to start looking into the rest of the work, which I found was either extremely rushed or done incompetently. Nuts left off, or finger tight, brackets not put back in place. The battery terminals for example had the plastic covers ripped off. Those are meant to keep corrosion from building up quickly and were in perfect condition when I brought the truck in. I'm praying that whoever did this work did manage to at least get the fluids changed and up to levels, but looking at the rest I'm not confident in that at all! 4. The simplest of things were missed. My clock wasn't re-set after battery change, my service light wasn't re-set. The foot mats the mechanics used were dirty and still in the truck. There was grease on my steering wheel. These are basics of mechanical customer service and completely overlooked. I'm going to get ahold of the owner today as well, because I really feel like I got taken in this deal. I paid over 3k and feel like my drunk uncle would've done better. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and get a major mechanical failure in one of the systems the tech worked on... Very disappointing in every sense of the word. Avoid this place at all costs. They cannot be trusted with your vehicle. read more

I took my truck in to have my washer fluid pump replaced. When I picked up my truck three idiot lights were now on that weren't on when I left it there. I told myself "no way I'm going back there! They sabotaged my truck." I took it to Austin automotive & they found rats had eaten through the wires for the advance track/abs system. Beware of leaving your vehicles there. Rats might eat through your wires or get in your car & make a nest. Plain & simple, the idiot lights were not on when I dropped my truck off there. They weren't on when I left with 5days after I left it there. Put some rat traps out & see how many you catch over night, and the next nights... read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience with you guys!! First, you listened to me and understood exactly what I needed. Second, you got me in and out on the schedule you promised. How refreshing, especially since I had left the vehicle with the dealer, and another shop, for 2 weeks at the dealer, and 3 weeks at the other shop, and they never even looked at the vehicle during that time. All the dealer wanted to do was try to sell me another vehicle! You also caught another issue with the vehicle that I wasn't even aware of (Radiator), that had the potential to leave my wife stranded on the highway. She travels alone, a LOT, and that could have been really bad. Lastly, while the repairs were somewhat expensive (not your rate, just the nature of the work), I feel like you treated me fairly. You could have easily upsold me for add'l camshafts that don't appear to have been needed. That fact is much appreciated! I might add that the vehicle has been purring like a kitten since the repairs. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write this, but I've been really busy. read more

I've been taking my car here for over 7 years. Just recently spent over 3k in repairs in January and another 3k two years prior. I thought I found the only mechanic I'll ever use until now. Asked to see if they can check my car since check engine light came on, and was told to drop off my car on a Friday but will not be looked at until the following Friday. I guess they have some growing pains, but this will be the reason why I will no longer be a customer at First Choice, as well as the rest of our family. Just made a call to another shop and was told to come by Monday and will run diagnostic. If something quick, they will fix it, but if more complex can leave my car. That's what First Choice used to do. Hopefully, I'll find another mechanic that isn't too busy for their loyal customers. It was great while it lasted. read more

Tony and his crew do good and honest work! The honest part is what's hard to find nowadays. I usually already know my main issues when I take my vehicle somewhere and I even know the lower end and higher end fees for my issues. Tony has always hit the mark on the lower end with his quotes and has never tried to add on other issues. Always prompt with the turnaround times too. Especially if you will be waiting for your vehicle there. An honest and good mechanic is a hard combination to find nowadays. A fellow veteran recommended this place and I've used it for stuff from replacing an air compressor, to replacing all rotors and breaks on my truck that I purchased myself from Amazon. Give First Choice a try for any vehicle issues and you'll also have a great experience. I just bought a hybrid and will also be bringing that to him for any maintenance issues and upkeep. It is important to call out when an automotive service does great work. It is more important to recognize the honesty and integrity of the owner. Tony solved a serious problem with an exhaust system. This is relevant because he completely replaced catalytic converters twice on my vehicle. Due to no fault of his team the first set were defective. Very honest and professional! The prices are very reasonable. Keep it up guys! I had a leaking problem, first I took my car to JiffyLube, they said they are not sure is it oil or transmission fluid. They recommend me A+ Transmission Specialists on Bell St (Cedar Park) to double-check. I actually was ripped off at A + transmission specialists, because they said it is the transmission. And charged me over $900 to seal it! And for some reason took apart my transmission. And did not fix the problem. Instead made worse my transmission. I came to these guys and in 30 min they found the issue of leaking - Oil Cooler (above transmission) and fix the issue. Thank you very much guys!!! read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this place. I went in for an oil change and they recommended well over $1000 worth of repairs. I declined and they told me I better at the very least get the brakes done ASAP because they were almost metal on metal. Late that week we took the wheels off to check on the brakes and found what they said was not true. We won't be back. read more

He told me it was going to be a while before he could get to it, like 1 1/2 hours. There were 2 vehicles in front of me. Said his oil change guy called in sick. I had told him when I made the appointment that I would be waiting on it. So this was definitely not going to work. He had my phone number. This place is the real deal in honesty! Took my Honda Pilot in because a friend highly referred Tony. I originally thought the motor was shot from all the noise and rambling. After a quick analysis Tony was worried too and expressed a extreme concern. Told me he could possibly fix it and a price range if he was able to. They got busy and within 24 hours I have my car running literally like its brand new. He replaced the timing belt and a million other little things and came in on the lower side of the range.
