    I love NY sandwich
    Aaron C.

It's like a bodega and I'm fortunate enough to live close to it! They have great sandwiches and they're pretty good value as well! I've tried everything they have on the menu and I've loved them all! I would recommend the bull rider to anyone who hasn't had it yet. Sometimes, they make special sandwiches for a limited time such as the carribean roast pork. Make sure to snatch those limited time sandwiches up when they're available! They really are something else. The sandwiches get to you fairly fast but they can get busy so make sure to call ahead of time if you're in a rush. It's also got some groceries so you can pick up snacks, drinks or whatever you need along with a scrumptious sandwich. I'll admit there's not really much out nearby so it can be a bit of a ways away from everything else.

This place has always been great, but it looks like the B team has taken over. Brown avocado, bacon unevenly cooked, slathered in cheap mayo. Please bring back the A team

I Love Lyons. I used to live in Westlake and would often walk a couple blocks most mornings to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. The owners are nice and will recognize you for coming in a lot. They were also very understanding when I ordered something with pine nut pesto on accident (I'm allergic to nuts) and let me re order without paying for the second sandwich. My personal favorites were the breakfast sandwich and the Ave but I have only ever heard good things about the rest of the menu. Definitely worth a trip to see for yourself!

    Such a shame

We have been coming to lyons weekly for over 4 years, and as other comments are saying, the new team taking over for the long beloved previous owner has lost the plot. Twice in a row now the sandwiches portion sizes, presentation and quality have slipped dramatically. They don't even wrap the hot sandwiches in foil anymore to give them their signature delicate crunch and moisture. This used to be the best bodega in Seattle, serving a hangover curing bacon egg and cheese that would make Ocky's blush. Unfortunately, the music appears to be gone. Hoping the team can turn it around before it's too late, and the property is sold for scraps. Edited review from 3/5 to 2/5 after eating: tastes nothing like the OG. If nothing changes, this Seattle gem might disappear before the end of winter

Service was quick and my sandwich was delicious. A very good sized sandwich. I am stuffed after eating the entire thing.

Their bagels are fabulous as is their lox. For those, like me, who can unhinge their jaw for an authentic pastrami or corned beef masterpiece. Go with the "Ding sized" sandwich. They'll make a smaller Seattle sized version as well for those who don't treat deli as an indulgence of rye and meat piled high. I wish they'd add kreplach to the menu (sorry Vance. I know my litany is old!) but I keep discovering new deliciousness here even after being a regular for nearly 4 years since my recovery from a life threatening illness, that I recovered from in part due to making regular stops here during my post surgical recovery. Just today I had the blintzes for the first time with their in house made cherry compote and sour cream. Amazing. Keep up the amazing work!!! My recommendation for newbies. Get the pastrami on marbled rye with gribenes and mustard. If you're feeling extra indulgent ask for a schmear of chopped liver, if you're keen on said. You won't regret it!

Bonus: this spot is kosher! Potato Latkes (5/5): These latkes are thick boys and fried up so they're piping hot when they hit the table. Because of their size, you really get the contrast of the hard crunch on the outside with super fluffy potato inside. So good we immediately turned around and ordered more. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here. Unfortunately, the babka just really dries out after it's been sliced, which is a shame because it's just gorgeous with generous swirls of chocolate inside. Reuben (5/5): I really thought their pastrami couldn't be beat, but the brisket is dare I say better? Just as tender and feels a bit less fatty, so it's a little more crushable. Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.

I'd heard they were good, but holy smokes, I didn't realize they would be *that* good. Here are my recommendations: - Get the Tatstrami. Its combination of flavors is so freaking good. - Order online and then sweep in and pick it up. Since the place does most of its business during lunchtime, there's always a line and this is a way to skip that. If you want to venture beyond a pastrami sandwich, I highly recommend the chicken cheesesteak. While I normally opt for beef when it comes to cheesesteaks, Tat's actually isn't amazing but their chicken one is. So get that instead. In short, this is tied with Dingfelders for the best sandwich in Seattle. Pay it a visit and bring your appetite.
