I've gone to a couple other places just out of curiosity but none of them have been as accommodating, friendly, and capable as Jennifer. She pays attention to all the little details, is interested in the same shows as I am, and has known me by name from the first day I met her. She also remembers what I like, even if it was from 6 months ago! She's so attentive! Seriously though, make an appointment. It's a small shop but usually you can call and get in the same day, even within a couple hours. It's worth the call and any wait! Don't be surprised if you walk in and she doesn't have time. LyLy Nails Spa and Salon is sure to be my go to when I need some pampering. The spa itself is petite and nicely decorated, with a fish aquarium amongst other cute things. It is located in West Seattle (off California Avenue) near several hippy- artsy like stores. I went here to get my nails done and eyebrows waxed. The nice and pretty woman who did my nails (named Thuy) took her time and did them well. She did not even mind my indecisiveness when changing my mind about nail colors multiple times. And, my eyebrows look spectacular (they also do brazillians, so come, summa-summa-summatime, I will go here for those). Last and, an added plus, she does altering too (she altered for 12 years prior to owning a store so she has plenty of experience)! She altered a pair of expensive pants for me and they look superb! I was actually starting to give up on ever wearing them as I had spent $12 before to get them fixed, and they still were too big. Now I am ecstatic and can FINALLY wear them! Bottom line, Lyly Nails is my new spot for waxing, nails, and alterations... The price is right, and how cool is that- get your "nails did" and waxing done... For the past couple of months, I have been going to every nearby nail salon in West Seattle to find a place that does the best pedicures. I came here because of the star rating Yelp users gave them, but I won't be back. It's a really small place. Not that that's a bad thing, but if you go when there's more than 1 person there and only 2 people are working, you'll be waiting for a seat for a while. It's $25 here and most other places are $20-22. They have an okay selection of nail polish, but a lot of it was really old and clumpy. The color I chose was almost out apparently so she added water to it. That may explain why the next day, I my big toes polish was chipped off. She quickly rushed my pedicure didn't do that great of job on filing or getting my cuticles taken care of. When I was done, my toes were drying and the lady came out of no where trying to put on my shoes. I felt rushed, which I don't like. Rushing = Messed up polish and as I said, my toe nails have the paint chipped off of them and it happened within a day. I won't be back. It wasn't horrible, but I like my polish to last more than 24 hours. read more

I had reviewed this place about a year ago, and I had given them 5 stars. I hadn't been back since, because it was winter, but I came back today hoping for another great pedicure since my birthday is Saturday and I want cute toes. I walked in, and there was one woman working there, and she had someone in one of the chairs already. She was painting the woman's toes and I asked if I could get a pedicure. Her response? "I don't have time for you." I was taken aback, and was hoping that it was just her accent that made it seem like she was being rude. So I asked when she might have an opening, and she rolled her eyes at me and said (very rudely again) "Maybe 5, maybe not." Basically saying don't hold my breath. Then she glared at me until I left. Really? I don't mind waiting or coming back for a pedicure that is worth it, but rolling your eyes at me? No thanks, I won't be coming back. Not at 5, or any other time. read more

I can always trust that she will create the best nails for me. I recently removed 2 months worth of acrylic nails and my natural nails were in bad shape; thin and brittle. I never tried dipping but my friends tell me it's much healthier. Dip is strong like acrylic but it is safe and easy to remove for your nails like shellac. It's also a good option if you're looking to grow out your nails because there are no harsh chemicals and there is nothing in the process that damages the nail when you are dipping. mine were short and to the nub so she glued on the plastic tips for some length (extra $5) which is what I wanted. I also love the color that she helped me choose for my vacation. the dipping colors are very opaque and true to color. I recommend dip for everyone, they last long and are a healthy option for that acrylic look. best to make an appointment with her because the shop is pretty small. read more

I recently moved to West Seattle, and was looking for a new nail salon nearby for a dip manicure and pedicure. I arrived to my appointment and was happy to see that there was no wait. My previous salon would double book which was very frustrating. I was asked to wash my hands as soon as I walked in, which was comforting as I was skeptical on how safe it was to get my nails done with Covid still on the loose. I noticed everyone (including me) wore masks, and there were protective barriers on the manicure tables. Overall I would say I felt very safe. The place was cozy, clean, and the atmosphere was friendly. I am pretty picky on my nails, but my technician was super accommodating and listened to all of my feedback graciously. I am super happy with my nails. It feels amazing to be manicured after all this time. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back in 2 (maybe 3) weeks! read more

I have been a happy Ly Ly customer of Jennifer's for many years and felt compelled to post a review again as we emerge from the pandemic. I dropped by the shop today and they have COMPLETELY redone everything. New chairs, new floor, new paint, new decor - AND, there are plexiglass shields at the nail stations, disinfectant for hands/equipment every which way you look, ample space to separate, an air filter and visibly-posted instructions from the County/State on the rules and regulations they're following. I continue to be so impressed by how hard Jennifer works to provide a great service - I even connected with her during pandemic because she was sewing masks! - and I hope everyone that has been to Ly Ly keeps it in mind now that we can finally get back to professional care on our nails. read more

This salon is the best! I've been in a few times now to get my dip manicure done by Jennifer and I have not been disappointed. She's super friendly, attentive, and always does an amazing job with my nails. I've had dip done at other salons that barely made it 2 weeks.. my nails always look perfect even after 3ish weeks at this salon. Im sure they would last longer but my nails are too long at that point (personal preference) so i go in for a refresh. I would definitely call ahead to schedule an appointment but they are always able to squeeze me in even if it's last minute. read more

This is one of the smaller nail salons in West Seattle but I thought I'd try it out one day because it's right next to my house. The pedicure I got was decent but the color selection wasn't great and the massage chair was broken (which is half the reason I go for pedicures). Also, at $25 for just a pedicure there are cheaper places nearby with better quality shops. With so many nail salon choices in West Seattle, I am glad my sister and I checked out LyLy. The ladies are always pleasant and accommodating. Their spa pedicure is so relaxing! They do a great job on nails and are always patient while we take forever to pick out our colors. We never hesitate to refer people to the salon either. We've been coming to LyLy for more than four years now and don't plan on stopping. I even brought most of my wedding party here. I can't praise this place enough. I felt compelled to update this review based on a comment below, which I believe is probably an honest misunderstanding, but also an unfair rating based on misinformation. First, the salon pug is no longer a puppy, he is grown up and still adorable but not in the shop very much anymore. Second, you are still WAY better off calling to schedule an appointment 206.932.9523 if you for sure want to get in because Jennifer typically works solo or with one additional person and walk-ins won't always be able to be accommodated. If she isn't already working on someone - GREAT, you're in luck! But if she is, she will not tell you "a couple more minutes" if you actually might be there for an hour or more. This relates to a comment below from a person who came in and was told they there was no time for an appointment for them. I'm sure it was frustrating. But Jennifer's niece is the person you saw who was "doing nothing." And she was "doing nothing" because she is not licensed yet and is only observing and helping Jennifer with non-service related things in the shop. It's unfair to assume negative intent without really knowing the situation. Of course there are plenty of salons along California to go to - I choose this one without reservation because it is professional, I am always happy with the outcome and it is clean and comfortable. Building a relationship with one person has also been great - Jennifer knows my nails, what I like and what I don't like. Ly Ly is GREAT!!! read more

I love Lyly's Nail Salon. Their pedicures simply last longer than any place I've ever been. Jennifer is the lead at Lyly's, and she is wonderful at letting you know when she can fit you in, and almost always gets me in either right away, or later the same day. Lyly's is also fun. I always enjoy talking with Jennifer, and I tend to meet the nicest locals as I'm getting a mani or pedicure. My favorite anecdote from Lyly's is another customer came in, and it had been 6 weeks since her last pedicure. She had gone on a two week backpacking trip, and had blisters, so had waited an additional two weeks before coming in for another pedicure. Her old pedicure still looked **perfect**. It was amazing. Jennifer and the other technicians at Lyly's are simply genius at what they do. Jennifer also does alterations, which I've seen other customers pick up. read more
