My first time visiting Seattle from Bay Area. I'm accustomed to using Lyft at home so I thought I would use it again from SeaTac to downtown. Cost about $40, no traffic on a Saturday. Driver was really nice but played his hip hop music kinda loud. I'm really disappointed that on the way back to SeaTac from downtown on Monday morning (going against traffic) Lyft quoted me a price of $75-90! I found this to price gouging at its best. I decided to take a local cab for a flat rate of $40. I hope Lyft will start being a little more fair with the rates. I may consider using again if so. read more

I has to pick up a prescription. I told the driver to please stop at the RX walk up. He ignored me and went to the front door. I asked him, and it was in my "trip plan" to wait while i picked up my meds. I got out and walked to the walk up window. He drove off laughing at me. I had fallen, and hurt my back. I was picking up meds to help. I contacted Lyft. They only refunded 1.76. It took 8.00 to get a ride back, but they left me, without a ride and their customer service is horrible read more

I have had 4 rides with Lyft and 3 were great. I always tell the driver where I need to go and always have to give them blow by blow directions (post office, major stores). No problem. I am a Senior and disabled so I can walk about one block, with a lot of problems not to mention fear of falling onto the pavement. I told this driver I had multiple stops to do, all within 2 blocks (like drop off a library book in a book drop) and he said fine. Each stop was less than 3 minutes which is hard for me to walk that fast. At the third stop (Walgreens parking lot) he declared he was "done." I was to get out of the car. I told him we didn't have to do anything (OFC, one item to buy) after this. I pleaded my case that it would be less than 2 minutes (it was) and then I needed to go home. After a few minutes of begging, he agreed to do it. I can only walk about one block, very slowly. Running for this twerp made me physically ill. If he wants to torture someone and see fear in their eyes, he can go pick on someone his own age (30). Never ever ever again. Cabs only, they are vetted. read more

How unfortunate that racism can find it's way into every aspect of my existence, even getting a ride home from My daughter's. This evening she was kind enough to call a lyft for myself and my two younger daughters to get from Tarzana to Van Nuys. We had actually had a wonderful experience not three hours before with a friendly driver that picked us up from the movie theater. He was a non-white man who was efficient, personable and communicative, and since it was my first lyft ride, I was really pleasantly surprised. But this is America and I guess race can be a reason NOT to lyft because when my daughter called for a lyft to take us home, the driver that came to get us sat across the street watching us for a full five minutes before pulling up in front of the building. There happened to be two white women talking at the gate and when they exited, I think he assumed (or hoped) that they were his clients and that motivated him to finally come over. When we approached the car, I was behind my two older girls, one light, the other dark-skinned like me. The light-skinned one wasn't going with us but it's her name and face on the lyft account. When my darker babygirl put her hand on the car, he actually drove away in a panic because he must've realized that three Black women might have intended to get into his car. He literally burned rubber to escape the threat of a these girls and her mammy getting into his white Ford Focus. The driver, whom I suspect is himself a person of colour, felt quite confident that his pulling away from us was sanctioned by the company since he reacted after hands were on the car before we were thinking we were getting inside. So confident that he contacted lyft to CANCEL our ride before he made it to the corner. So, I'm hot as fish grease and REAL sick of this crap. The driver's name is Augusto I believe but let's say it's Jamaal or Muhammad because my point is the same: WE are liable for how we as people of color treat each other and if we choose to filter our interactions through White Eyes, Augusto, Jamaal and Muhammad don't get to drive for lyft. If you still need to believe that my skin color makes me a suspect, then what should I think of Augusto? Trump wants to build a wall and this driver thinks he can afford to piss off folks that ultimately are gonna be voting against a government abusing him and others like him. Or me. Or my children. This was disgusting, obvious, blatant, obscene, unapologetic and oddly, not all that surprising in this week of complete racist madness. Forces you to sign in with Facebook and then "asks" for access to all your personal info on Facebook including name, age, address book, etc. The "ask" is actually a requirement as the app will not process your profile unless you grant permission. Creepy at best. I am not sharing my personal stuff with the pink mustache and Facebook does not need to know where I am picked up from and where I am dropped off. I have used lyft many times because they aren't usually surging when uber is. I am so sickened by the service after a MAJOR problem. My driver very late at night was going to sexually assault me and told me so. I had to scream until he pulled over to let me out on a freeway entrance. I have complained to lyft several times through several ways and have heard nothing after a week. Will NOT use them again. read more

Let me state by saying, I did like Lyft for a very long time. However, lately, I have had issues with them charging the correct credit card. I have two credit cards. One was for business and one for personal. Two pr three times, they charged the wrong credit card and I immediately went to the app and I kept hitting default to make it go to the correct card. I succeeded with my effort on about two occasions, but I was unable to change it on the other times. I called them and asked them to delete the charges on my business card and charge my personal card. Mind you these charges came to less than $25. They refused. So I will no longer use them. I will begin to use Uber. I do not have a car, so I utilize them a lot,l but not anymore. Also, lately the drivers have no sense of using the GPS or the GPS sends them to the wrong location. One location in downtown Bellevue in particular. I will put the address of the building in and the driver almost always end up at the Westin Hotel. Thought I'd try Lyft for the first time, as a test, to see if it would be safe for my 13 and 14 year olds to ride on their own. I had the opportunity to test the service out for myself last night for the first time. I am absolutely shocked at what happened. I was at a Black Tie event at the Columbia Tower, and enjoying my evening enough to require a lift home. The sign up was easy. The driver even pinged me and said that they had arrived in a Xion xB XL. I was standing out front, directly in front of the Columbia Tower. It was dark and their were very few cars on the road at all. It was raining. I didn't see anyone. The driver finally called and I said that I had been standing out front the entire time. She said that she had driven around the building twice. Then... I say the Xion. It was driving by slowly, but didn't stop. When it got to a stoplight I had caught up to it. I knocked on the door, opened the door... And the driver hit the gas, floored it, and ripped off. I could barely shut the door all the way. The care essentially took off like it was pissed. I will also paint the picture that I was in a very nice suit, very professional, and not completely professional the entire time. I was blown away, and unfortunately, cannot rely on the service for my children. I immediately pinged Uber. They were there in a flash. Got me home... And then... I realized I had left my house key in my car. Uber drove me all the way back, waited while I got into the garage and got my key, and then... drove me all the way back. I enjoyed my visit with the Uber driver and they went above and beyond expectation. Just wish Uber would allow minors to ride alone with parent approval. read more

Was cool using them until I was ripped off on one of my rides today. After being dropped off at work, I noticed a few minutes later that the ride was still going as if I were in the car. Then I received an email receipt for 1. More than I thought it would be, 2. For longer than it took to get there and 3. Drop off location located on the receipt was NOT where I was dropped off. After emailing customer support (not happy they don't have a phone number) they told me they couldn't issue a refund, no reason given. I'm furious. Pretty sure this is fraud. Their follow up response to my email was for me to contact the person that was falsely using my card and to handle it with them! I am the customer right? When my Lyft request was accepted, the estimated time was 5 minutes. The driver took over five times the estimated time to get to us. He finally arrived at the pick-up location and as he was slowing down, my friends and I started walking towards the car. My friend was reaching for the door handle when he sped off. I had already received the text saying my driver was here. He then went on to cancel the ride a few minutes later. I am furious because not only did that waste my time, but I tried to request another after that incident and prime time had just started. Everyone do yourself a favor and just use uber. read more

I needed picked up near the airport in Seattle. I live only about 10 min away from the airport. There are usually a lot of available drivers nearby. In fact since with the app you can see how many are close there were no less than 5 within 2 min of where I was. 1st guy calls... There is a definite language barrier so I finally think I get across where I am he hangs up and then cancels my ride. But Lyft sends me a message saying don't worry another car is on its way. 2nd guy , easy to talk too says "I'll be right there " hangs up and guess what. Cancels my ride. Now I've been waiting a good 20 min for what should have taken 4. All I can guess is the ride I need is not enough money for them to bother with. I end up just hailing a cab. Thanks Lyft. read more

Awful App and Zero Management support. I was looking at the app and mistakenly ordered a ride. So I pushed the cancel button but it did not work!! It gave me an error message about not being able to cancel without a location. I called the driver - who was good about it - and they canceled, and then the app sent another driver, and another driver - 4 people were sent, Each time I called and they canceled for me. I'm fighting to not have to pay for each cancellation there is NOBODY TO CALL - No office Nothing Just an email that is not returned yet Apparently the drivers are dinged somehow because they canceled not me. I'm very dissatisfied with their business ethics. Today my last driver called their office and claimed I had left something in this drivers car, they never sent a statement what it was, what it looked like or a simple photo, they just sent a text telling me if I wanted the item that they thought I left behind, that they have a fee of 15.00 to be able to get my property back, because their driver would have to drive it back to me, that is like them giving you an ultimatum, either pay or you don't get your property back. That is like stealing from your customers and that is horrible and very unfair for customers who give Lyft their business. This company has bad ethical standard's and no appreciation of them either. Even if I was a driver, I would find a way to do the right thing, which is to return the item to that person. I finally got ahold of the driver and he said it was a drink container, so I told him It wasn't mine, the truth! I love their drivers, but not the business's ethics they have and charging innocent people15.00 for it to be returned , even though it is rightfully belongs to them! I haven't used this service before but have used Uber and have been quite pleased with the service and people working with that company and have seen many Lyft lighted up dashboard emblems and always wondered about their service but after today I don't think I'd use Lyft at all, I came out of my regular coffee place this morning and got in my car saw one guy waved at him as he was letting me back out in the parking lot and I turned around and there's a Lyft driver flipping me off yelling at me to watch where I was going I just looked at him he went around me and then I backed out then continued out of the parking lot and I drove by him and he started yelling at me again and walked towards my car I had a dog in the back and that seemed to make him stop but I just thought to myself man this guy is a taxi driver that is untrusted with people's safety and would think the company would be a bit more careful about who they hire, I just looked up taxis and sexual assaults and Lyft comes right up the latest being a driver had been charged in April 2019 with sexual assault in Bellevue and sea tax but was also under investigation for the same crimes in Kirkland and Seattle as reported by Seattle Times . Just stick with Uber you can at least call someone if you have a bad experience. read more

It's terrible. It's cheaper than uber, but it's consistently bad service. The drivers don't know the directions, which causes them to overcharge you more, or not come to the right location ("GPS took me there" they say. Quite frankly, I don't care where the GPS took you). They cancel rides on you without notifying you. The estimates are always incorrect. When it says "2 min" it's usually 5-8min. I'd rather see a longer wait than be disappointed the driver is not there. I keep going back to it because it's sometimes cheaper, but it's bad all around. read more

I signed up with this company through my I-Phone on Aug.7th 2015. For future use using the app. When I put my credit card info in, immediatly I received a email saying that the driver (Magdy) was going to be at my house in 7 min. I had just signed up...and was not requesting a ride at that moment. I tried to cancel but did not get a phone number for the driver or the company...YIKES!! Today through email I received a receipt for a pick up and delivery in Kirkland for $15.00, this is an out and out lie!!!! He charged my credit card....Im upset because this is burglary. I was very willing to pay for his gas and time it took for him to come to my house (even tho I didn't request it) There was no delivery to Kirkland!! I will report this to The Lyft company, and the BBB, also The Attorney General of Washington State. Be careful of this service...very frightening!!! Sincerely, Suzanne Ps. Collectively the worst drivers on the planet... traffic laws are routinely broken, they seem to make up their own rules as they go.Iv'e lost count of how many times I have been passed & then cut off.At SeaTac they are supposed to drop passengers on arrival level from 5 am to 7 am . It's just another rule that isn't followed or enforced. The port of Seattle has let them take over the airport because they are revenue generators. Downtown Seattle is another story. On pickups & dropoffs they stop in the middle of the street with zero regard to impeding traffic. And to think I thought Taxi drivers were bad. read more

Third time was not a charm. Driver blamed the lengthy pick up time on the airport (couldn't figure out why the device showed him 11 minutes away and it stayed at that for over 35 minutes). Thought I'd ask Lyft customer service why the technology would be not show real time. And, if was an airport issue they should know about it. Instead I received a form letter type communication stating I'd not be matched with that particular driver again. They didn't read my message. Then communication went to texting...again another form letter response. I wrote back that I was going to close my account, rep then wrote back saying that he/she actually just cancelled my account with a "Thank you!!". Such a snarky way of communicating with a customer. Not sure if there were tech issues or driver manipulated the app so it showed he was closer to the airport than he really was. To add more to the discontent, the ride was more than double the price compared to the same ride 4 days earlier. read more

Less expensive than uber and definitely more friendly. Great service and was able to get home to Renton on a Saturday night, but the app doesn't show available drivers from Renton to Seattle, only the other way around. Overall, definitely worth a shot and way better than a cab. read more

Lyft is awesome! You can pretty much get to anywhere in the Seattle area for under $20! Why would anyone want to even take a cab again!? Anytime you need a ride, use Lyft and don't forget to tip your driver through the app! read more

I realize how much hours they work their drivers for bonuses to get back their earnings it's a shame to see how we took these rideshares companies for granite but never thought about the drivers seeing and talking to the drivers to know how much they really make how much money they spend on gas insurance maintenance and spend time away from their family read more

I still like Lyft but primetime surge pricing has made it a pain to use sometimes. I can pay either double the fare at times or sit around looking at my phone to see if primetime goes away. It really creates a hassle and less usable and enjoyable product. read more

Better than Uber because they have stricter ratings for drivers to maintain and they let me tip my driver in-app (can't do that in Seattle right now). Also, surge prices are more localized, meaning I don't suffer from a spot on the other side of the city going nuts for rides and have to pay 50% more as a result. I set up my Lyft a day in advance. I got a text about half an hour before they were due to pick me up that said they were on their way. 7 minutes before the pickup time I received a call from the driver saying he wasn't coming as he had picked up another rider and was on the freeway heading towards Seattle. So, I know my destination would have made less money then Seattle but I had an appointment to keep and this was pretty inconsiderate what he did. Needless to say I will never call Lyft again.
