Can I give a negative rating? i was driving home from downtown Kirkland and came to a four way stop. I was at the intersection first and Driver to my left stopped after me. I proceeded into the intersection and they also entered so I stopped. When I turned right I honked and h the e other driver stopped. They exited the car and he had his hand inside his jacket (like he had a weapon) and approached my car. He verbally assaulted me, saying we are not in Germany or Switzerland so whoever is traveling straight goes first. Called me names, put his hand on my car, and was yelling and gesturing at me. I yelled to get in his car, noticed his Lyft jacket, and yelled at him to move. I reversed and drove around him. I called 911 and he turned north from me. I contacted help on Lyft which offered no support. Please do not use Lyft. This is outrageous behavior at 9 pm on a Wednesday. read more

I am reviewing this ride share. I was inspired by sharing my experience because it is a much needed service for those unable to drive anymore or who simply need a "lift" somewhere. I was gifted a Lyft by healthcare providers and now I personally use it to take myself and family to hospital or appointments or important errands when the buses are not in service or services are super slow . And I also use this service because cabs are no longer reliable to me. I utilize Lyft within my area mostly. I love that provides "green cars" which are hybrid or electric vehicles. I love Toyota Prius cars! And cars that are not blowing so much pollution.This is a great service that promotes safety to clients and drivers. I love that if I use Lyft alone that it has a feature that I can send a quick message to husband that I was dropped off safely. It also allows you to save favorite drivers in your app. So if that driver is available there is a chance you may get them again. I really love safe and drivers that are focused. Today I had to make a hospital trip and did not feel well to catch bus so as soon as I was discharged, I tested the app about how soon it can come and it came quickly before 15 minutes ! I will definitely use this service. You can use other payment methods such as Lyft cash but you will still need a credit or debit card on file. You can buy a prepaid debit card if you are uncomfortable with providing personal ones. and just put money on there. I highly recommend this way if use it Lyft. And Lyft cash is available at Walmart. You must put $30.00 on the app that is minimum. It is a game changer for me and I have enjoyed my experience and so have my special needs son. I have used Uber a number of times for trips around the city. I have been impressed by the on time pickups, their security measures and the friendly drivers. Also, their pricing is about 3/4 the price of Uber at most times and the cars and staff are of high quality. At times I have asked drivers to wait for me and they have always said yes. read more

What's not to love about an app that allows you to get transportation 24/7 and be cost effective. I'm constantly using LYFT when I'm out of town. Saves you money on DUI's and parking when I'm on the move. Plus BMW uses LYFT to shuttle me when they don't have a loaner car at service department. Only negative is you get a dude with BO ( they smell ) but I'm not sure I can say that's Lyfts fault but it should be a requirement as a driver not to stink and offend my nostrils. I'll continue to use app for the simple reason you know exactly what your paying before you get into the car. Unlike a cab who drives weird ways to run up the cost. I got a Lyft from the airport to my home and what really bugged me is it it will say five minutes, then three minutes, then another five minutes - it just jumps up and down so it's hard to tell when it's really going to get there. And then it got there, but it didn't say which bay it was in, but I found it fairly quickly and after the ride, I checked the receipt and I was charged $.22 extra for the 22 seconds they had to wait which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I could understand if the driver was waiting over a minute but 22 seconds. I'm never using them again; the next time I'll try Uber and hope that they are better. read more

A simple trip to walmart. six miles, with a three minute wait time. They charged me $67.17 and then another $23.00 for the ride back. That's $90.00 for a 12 mile ride. There is no customer service phone number, so forget about talking to someone. The driver was not too familiar with the English language or the lift app. I tried to turn in a complaint, but get no response. So if the driver makes a mistake, you're stuck with it. This is not the way to do business. I think I'd do better with Yellow Cab or some other taxi service. I'm removing their app from my phone. read more

In the last several weeks 4 ties we have requested a standard or Premium Lyft. The rides have shown up as 1-3 minutes. Then the driver's car does not move for many minutes, or the times never change, or most commonly the times increase slowly or jump from 3 to 14 minutes!? This appears in our experience to be a new problem with the algorithms used in the app. read more

I am handicap and requested that the Lyft driver pick me up in the designated pick up handicap area at SeaTac airport baggage claim area. I explained to the driver that I was handicap and traveling alone on top of that I had luggage. I needed help all the way around. I was taken from aircraft to baggage claim by the wheelchair attendant who took me to baggage claim but did not want to wait for lyft driver so he was unable to help me from that point. The driver was extremely rude, refused to pick me up in the handicap area and raised his voice to me. I have never experienced such bad treatment. This was very discriminatory to say the least. Ill never use Lyft again. They refused to give me a full refund even though I never got the ride. I had to call an Uber which had no problem accommodating me. read more

Hallo. Today (9/18/24) I experienced 2 LYFT rides and a 3rd attempted one - in SeaTac Washington. I was a guest of a friend who contacted LYFT on her own account, and who has in the past successfully used LYFT. However, something went very, very wrong today. - The first trip (12:40pm PST), from my home to a hair salon in Southcenter/Westfield Mall in Tukwila, was a 5-star, excellent driver and vehicle. - The 2nd trip (2:20pmish PST) from the hair salon in Tukwila to an IHOP (International House of Pancakes) on 204th and International Blvd, SeaTac, was where the main problem was. The driver stopped about 2 blocks away from the restaurant and tried to drop us at some car repair facility, which we could not do since I am disabled and my friend was upset and feeling ill. That was clearly not the destination IHOP restaurant, and the driver alternately 1) Said the GPS had us in the correct place (the place was different from the IHOP/address displayed right on his GPS screen); 2) Seemed utterly unable to drive/move if the GPS didn't clearly tell him to, and he just froze up, helpless; 3) Told us he did not speak English (in Seattle WA where probably 80% of the population speaks English and the rest are tourist and/or bilingual with Spanish and several other languages); 4) Refused to take the word of me and my riding companion (2 women) and would not believe he was in the wrong place until he got a MAN at the car facility to tell him; 5) Bypassed the clearly placed restaurant when we finally got on the road again and then took another 10 minutes of helplessness before we finally got there (remember, I am disabled so couldn't hike it); and 5) Generally seemed to weaponize incompetence in a way that really upset my friend who was not feeling well and was sick when he finally got us where we needed to be. - The 3rd attempted trip (3:30pmish PST), which was to be from the IHOP to drop my sick friend home before diverting to take me home, never happened. My friend put in the request and the app indicated the driver was about 2 minutes away - but no one showed up and no one called. She retried the app 15 minutes later, then phoned LYFT, which told her the 2nd driver had gone instead to pick us up at a nearby hotel instead of the restaurant we were waiting at - and the driver never called us. I ended up having to contact Uber to get her then myself home, and THAT went perfectly. This was my first and likely last experience with LYFT. I don't know if their GPS/AI is malfunctioning, but they just can't have non-dominent language speaking drivers who don't understand the tools or the driving area, and who mistreat customers. I want to be respectful of language differences and new drivers gaining expertise, but LYFT seems to have shoddy training, no requirement that drivers be able to clearly communicate and problem-solve, and no customer support practice for drivers to use. My friend and I felt totally as stranded as if we ourselves had tried to take this LYFT in another country where we might not speak the language - it was that bad. Today was a horrible experience and if I could give 0 stars I would. However, the first driver was competent and genial, so there was that. read more

LYFT GIFT CARDS are theft. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY and WILL NOT HONOR THEM....... I recieved a $100 gift card from my sister in law some months back. I made an account with thw LYFT app and tried to load the card. No matter what I tried it would not process. After several attempts at customer service, I finally got a chat back. After going through them they stated that because I did not have a Credit card to place in my account that I could not redeem the GIFTCARD but also stated that the card was forever. SO what, I wanted to use it on their service and they verified that the card was also valid. So I asked about returning the gift car, no way was the answer I recieved. So nbow I am stuck with a $100 card that is no good, and LYFT kept the cash. That is some kind of BS and straight up theft. Lyft Priority Pick Up is a scam. The drivers are not made aware that the rider has requested and paid extra for faster pick-up. The driver has been consistently, egregiously late when I select priority pick up. It appears to be impossible to provide personalized feedback to Lyft and speak with a customer service representative regarding concerns about this systemic failure. The $3 credit you receive when a driver fails to pick you up on time is insulting when you are still charged the full fee for the ride, despite the company's failure to provide the advertised service. This is extremely disappointing. I will never use this service again and would discourage anyone else from considering paying Lyft for "priority service," or any service given their disrespect for their customers. read more

I find Lyft to be the worst option of the various ride services. Take my last experience, I selected a $12.99 ride, only to be charged $15.99. As a matter of principle rather than money I disputed the charge with customer service. I discovered they only have AI support via the app, and the AI rejected my claim. It took a lot of searching their website to figure out how to email a claim to what seemed to be a human agent. Turns out at Lyft, the customer is always wrong, and my claim was rejected. Technologically they are also behind Uber, which has an easier to use, and more reliable app, as well as being more customer-focused. read more

I used to use Lyft because I was boycotting Uber for political reasons. That all changed during Covid. On three different occasions, drivers canceled on me saying that I wasn't wearing a mask. At that time, I was double masking 12+ hours per day. I wore a mask when walking down the street (I still do). Then the app demanded that I take a photo of myself wearing a mask. Eff that. I've never had an issue with Lyft. I'll take it if the price is right, especially when public transit isn't an option or is too inconvenient. I find that Lyft drivers tend to be friendlier than Uber drivers, and all of their cars have a sign that's personalized with a greeting for a passenger. Plus, who doesn't like those hot pink mustaches? Compared to Uber, the price is usually higher on Lyft, even if it's the same route. They do have the same options, such as ride sharing with another passenger and for the cheapest option, walking at a meeting point and getting dropped off nearby your destination for a lower cost. They also do promotions and discounts occasionally. So I usually evaluate my options between the two apps. Most of the time Uber gets my service because of the significant lower fare, but it's nothing personal with Lyft. All in all, it's a fine option and glad to have it, just in case I'm stranded. read more

Avoid Lyft. We use Lyft for a short trip. The driver Redwanur made a claim for $150 car damage and Lyft charged our credit card instantly without our knowledge. We saw the charge and contacted Lyft. The claim was we damage the outside of his car. This driver put our bags in the trunk and remove them upon arrival. We don't know what part of the car is damage or how we damage it. Lyft won't give us a copy of the claim. They also don't want to talk to us about the claim. We having Discover credit card investigate the charge. What a headache for a short trip. Avoid Lyft and especially a driver name Redwanur. He will rip you off. read more

We took LYFT to a concert in Vancouver, WA. The trip to the venue was fine. When the concert concluded, I ordered the return ride. It identified a driver right away and estimated 16 minutes. Cool, right? 45 minutes later and after watching the driver make multiple stops along the way to the concert venue, they were approaching us. Maybe 200 yards away, when the driver cancelled. We suspect they picked up someone else for a higher cash price than the app was offering.... 45 minutes of waiting and 200 yards away and the idiot driver cancels. The driver's license plate number was BRG5624. The parking lot was emptied out by now and we had to wait another 45 minutes for a competing service (Uber) driver to arrive. There is absolutely no way to get a hold of LYFT. They are as ANTI-customer as a company can be. They put my wife and I at risk and there is no way to contact them to report the incident other than to put up negative feedback on sites like YELP. read more

I am a Lyft driver and my experience has been pretty bad with the lack of customer service that the company provides for its drivers. I recently started driving for Lyft and i have not been able to get paid. I have tried to talk, actually text because i can't get a hold of anyone in person, and i have not gotten the help that i need. I tried to verify my tax information so i can get paid and everytime i put my license number something pops up saying that my drivers license is not valid, but that is the correct license number. I am really disapointed in this company and the lack of customer service. At this point i just want to get paid and i will drive for the Uber company instead. read more

I ordered a Lyft from home to work. It was a total of 8$ at first. When I got to work 10 mins later, I realized the milk from my lunch had spilled a small amount in the plastic mat. i thought nothing of it since it didn't land on any upholstery and no damage was done. 1 hour later and I have been charged 80$ damage fee. i tried reasoning with Lyft about it being considered a small clean but they didn't care. Requested an XL vehicle, we had 6 passengers, ended up only needing a ride for 4, but ordered an XL vehicle because we needed the space for our things we bought, but sent us a Tesla that had only 3 seatbelts in the back and one for passenger. Contacted customer support and they said it was an XL, and there was nothing they could do for me. I DO not recommend using this company for ride sharing. Only decided to try them out since I was away on vacation. Drivers were nice and friendly, but was not given what I was told I was getting and I paid the extra money for an XL vehicle! I wish reviews could have titles because mine would be "Lyft is cool with sexual harassment, so long as they still get paid." I recently took a Lyft that ended with the driver sexually harassing me, making me feel really unsafe and causing me to sob for half an hour once safely inside. I reported this to Lyft and they were a) really cold in their response and b) still making me pay for the 6 dollar ride. I assume cause if you refund one person whose been sexually harassed you would have to refund them all and train your drivers to not be creeps. Its a shame because Lyft Mentors used to really help with this kind of issue and was preventative in regards to creepy drivers but since doing away with that, they seem to have done a 180 in regards to riders safety from being sexually harassed and assaulted. Don't worry- I'm telling everyone I know, because we all thought Uber were the morally corrupt ones. Turns out it's Lyft. Also just so we are clear, being sexually harassed isn't an "inconvenience" it's a crime and the kind of thing that should get drivers booted, not just made so I won't be stuck with him again. Ordered Lyft driver from Grand Hyatt to Pike market in Seattle, the driver refused to stop in Hyatt drive way, charged $4.50 No show fee; on the way back, requested Lyft driver from Pike market back to Grand Hyatt, the driver never showed up, also charged $4.5 No Show fee, it's bloody crazy, rest of vacation ordered Uber, more expensive but good service. It is frustrating that I can't get hold of anyone with this company. I requested a ride couple of weeks ago. I received multiple text stating driver is coming in 22 minutes 5 minutes before the pick up time. Today, I'm requesting a ride for tomorrow but it didn't provide me with the charge or what type of car. I tried over and over- reading their website to get a phone number or how to get a chat- no luck. I finally got a number when I google their company and guess what- a recorded message stated that the phone I called is not availabe to answer the call. It asked me to leave my name and number and they will call me. Well... yes, nobody's calling me. I end up booking with Uber. Extremely poor customer service with the rates they charge. This is my 2nd failed try to book a ride. The first time I had lyft ride was called out by a car shop and that one was great. Many of the drivers are not that good and many of them dont know the language you speak. I have always been patient. Lyft is horrible. I just spent 45 min trying to get a ride for what only takes 15min. I requested a Lyft car at 4:30 pm and it didn't come until 5. Two drivers I had that cancelled kept getting further away and when I tried to contact them they just cancelled. I tried calling Lyft but no Lyft number let's you talk to a direct person. I had an emergency at home and couldn't get there in time. I am furious. Not only can you NOT get in contact with Lyft is you need something but there was no option to request a new driver. I am also not going to pay a fee to cancel on a driver that isn't coming. What a horrible service. The fact that you can't get in contact with an actual person is a huge red flag. We pre-scheduled a ride to the airport (I think that's the only thing you can schedule in advance). The driver turned up on time, which was great. BUT don't count on the lost & found working. My husband left an expensive sweater in the car. I followed the instructions and texted and left a voicemail at the number provided within an hour of us realizing this. The driver did not return the call or text. I also contacted Lyft support a handful of times over the next couple of weeks. They sounded like they were bending over backwards to help but there was never any result - we didn't know if they were able to contact the driver or not. That was a very expensive Lyft! If anyone from the company is reading this, I suggest you tighten up on how you follow up with drivers. If the driver gave the sweater to himself or someone else he knows, then it's Lyft's reputation that gets dinged, not the driver's. read more

This program generates a lot of unsafe drivers on the road. More than once I've been cut off, had near accidents with ride share drivers being in a hurry and have been cussed out by these drivers because they think they're exempt to the rules of the road. I recently had an issue with a driver who was recklessly cutting between traffic to get faster ahead. Instead of going behind me the dash cam showed him intentionally swerving in front of me almost hitting me. I got out and talked to him but the guy was a total douche with lack of customer service, cussed at me and told me it was all my fault. I contacted my insurance about the near miss and they said it would of been his fault. One look at the front/rear videos and he would of been 100% at fault from turning left from the non left hand turn lane. As we didn't collide they said to just file complaints with the ride share service he was affiliated with. When I have used this service before I've had drivers drive right past me to another client. I occasionally rely on them for work and it isn't uncommon for the driver I selected to bypass me all together. Thus making me late for work. Vehicle cleanliness. It varies from client to client but every now and then I've noticed a really dirty gross vehicle. If you dock them a couple stars for it you know it affects their rating and if they don't have at least a 4.0 they'll get a talking to from their manager. read more
