These guys are scum. They rushed us into their taxi one vehicle up from the taxi I was looking at with their rates in the side of their vehicle. So I was unaware that they belonged to a different company. So the ones in line before these guys were from the same place. Before getting in I asked if they only took cash or if they accepted debit. They said, "how ever you wish to pay sir." If anybody is aware of the area around SeaTac all I wanted was a short ride to the Dennys Nextdoor for my young son and I to go eat at while we waited for our connecting flight. It was less than a half of a mile ride. They charged me $23 Then the lying thief tells me cash only unless I want to pay a$5 fee for using the card reader. Would've been nice to know that before hand. These guys are crooks. Oh and the fare/rates for the other guys on the side of their doors posted that they started with the $5 pick up plus $3/mile. I called the dispatch I was told it was around $60 for a ride to my house. When I went to the cab line at the Seattle International airport and met the cab the driver he put my bag in the trunk. I asked him what the cost was and he would not tell me. I told him I had to have a price before I got in. He would not give me a price. I asked him several times and he refused. I told him to take my luggage out of the car and he wouldn't at first. When I was trying to hail an Uber at the airport, they quoted me $125. They also couldn't locate me a driver. I had no choice but to take a cab. The cab driver had me enter in my address to his phone. He was the fastest driver I've ever had and I lived in New York City for 9 years. Got me from the airport to Fremont in 17 minutes in the middle of the day (vs 30 minute usual time). I was scared and impressed at the same time. His efficiency was next level. At the end I was charged $52 + $10 tip. It was half the cost of the Uber and likely half the time. If you're scared of speeding don't take this service. Lots of odd breaking and weaving in lane, once we got on the freeway it was complete white knuckle horror. I hired a Flat Rate for Hire taxi last night to take me from the taxi queue at Sea-Tac Airport to an address in zip code 98148. As it was midnight and I was tired, I was charged $21 (and some change) and paid it leaving a tip. This morning, I looked online and the flat rate listed on the Flat Rate for Hire website was $15. I called the the company and was transferred to a supervisor who informed me that the rate was indeed $15 however there was nothing she could do as she had no way to identify the driver. She also informed me that people who take taxis from the airport should always take a photo of the taxi they ride in as there are many drivers working for her company who scam their customers and overcharge on a regular basis! read more

And then the machine asks you for a 20 percent minimum tip! Customers, every FRFH cab has a list of flat rates and they are required to apply these and show it to you upon request. I wish the managers would insist their drivers apply the flat rate up front and without trickery. I was taking cab #2159 to SEA airport from work downtown. When he opened the trunk to put in my luggage, there was a wheelchair there and he looked 'puzzled' why the wheelchair was there. So we ended up putting my luggage on the back seat. During my trip there, the driver asked me whether it was ok to stop and get a gas since it was slightly less than half (around 45%). He was saying that he was supposed to switch with another driver after dropping me off to the airport and the rule was to leave the gas at least 50%. I said ok, and the gas he was getting was an E85 (ethanol based) from a special gas station. One thing I don't understand is that he was filling the cab around 5 minutes, yet, the gas indicator once he drove the car only went up to slightly more than half (around 65%). So either the pump was not working or an E85 takes more than 5 minutes to fill up the tank completely. He also made a comment that another driver was using his car earlier and suspected that one of the passengers might have forgotten the wheelchair. He said that he had no clue how to return the wheelchair. Ok, who would have forgotten a wheelchair to begin with? Also, couldn't he get a hold of the previous driver to find out about a wheelchair and/or contact the taxi's main office? I was ok with everything until I get to the airport and when I was ready to pay for the fare, the driver said he preferred CASH. First of all, who is carrying cash nowadays for more than $40 in the wallet? I told him that since this is a business trip, I don't have cash and I have a corporate credit card. He was annoyed and finally pulled out a card reader and completed transactions there. I have been traveling for work for almost 15 years and this is the first time in the U.S. that a taxi driver prefers CASH instead of a credit card. If I were traveling outside the U.S., which I have done many times, I can see why someone prefers CASH instead of a card. Since almost all taxis in the U.S. are equipped with a card reader, I won't pay with cash. I've spent an hour on the phone, with the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced, only to be told at the end of the double transfer that I would need to call back tomorrow when the "lost phone team is available".
