I'm not the type to leave a bad review but I'm pretty disappointed. I've been to luxury nails a few times before this and was satisfied with my service. I've always seen Lilly for gel-x and she does a great job. Yesterday a friend and I went to get manicures and pedicures, and Lilly was not available so I saw someone else. My manicure is okay, but I am very disappointed with my pedicure. I had gel polish on my toes and the lady doing my pedicure (I never got her name) wouldn't wait for them to soak off. She was obviously rushing (and I think new?) because she wouldn't let my toes sit to soak of and just kept trying to file and scrape it off. She also burned me with the drill. At one point she was even using cuticle nippers to try and rip the gel polish off. Then she took a rough buffer and was being so harsh she gave me a rash/burn on the skin around my toes. I could handle all of that if my toes came out looking amazing, but the shape is off, and the polish is a little sloppy and the nail is bumpy from her botched filing job. I will definitely not be coming here for a pedicure ever again and I hope that they train this girl a little better because she has no clue what she's doing. read more

The nails were super cute and I was really exited about them. However, they kept falling off and i got a second set for free and they ended up falling off again within a week. I am really sad these nails did not last longer. Great pricing and service, but no point in getting your acrylics done here seeing as all the work and money was a waste. read more

My friend and I are trying out different places in the metro Detroit area.not that this place is bad but I can't say that there's anything that is totally outstanding about it either. The chairs are newer, they use bags for sanitary reasons in the bowls. And their staff seems very efficient. However I did make an appointment for two pedicures and they only had one staff that was able to take care of us. Not that we minded the wait but it's always more fun if you scheduled to pedicures they have been done at the same time. As a credit to our pedicurist this was probably one of the best jobs on my nails I've seen in the last several months. Great cuticle work, my nails were rounded and very even. read more

Got my nails done here the night before the big day for graduation. Didn't make an appointment so it was a long wait (1 hr) plus I came in an hour before they closed. So if you don't mind waiting then you don't need an appointment. Overall very nice people and not rude. Was surprised they charged me an extra $10 on top of the $27 for acrylic set just for shaping them into a coffin style. But they took care of my nails and spent a good time on them to make them as perfect as they can. read more

I was a little reluctant to write this review at first because I didn't want this place to get over crowded and super popular. BUT I felt that all the people at Luxury Nails should get the praise and recognition that they deserve. SO.....why do I love this place so much... First of all...they offer you a refreshment when you walk in. I think it is a very nice touch. Everyone is SUPER friendly. They know most of their customers by name and the place is very clean. The first time I came in I got a pedicure. I have been on the search for the "perfect" Michigan pedicure for a long time. Every place I visited seemed to fail me. I was SO happy with my pedi from Luxury Nails. They did an amazing job and I didn't feel like they rushed through it like I do at many other salons in the area. I get pink and white acrylics. I know that they are kind of a pain in the butt to do but Tofu (one of the owners) always gives me a smile when I sit down in his chair. I am ROUGH on my nails (don't tell my dentist but I kind of chew on them) and Luxury Nails is amazing at repairing them and making them look brand new again. Luxury Nails has the most shellac colors that I have ever seen. Most places usually only have around 12...they must have close to 50. They also ALWAYS have the newest OPI colors. I brought my friend with me last time to get a shellac mani and pedicure and she agreed that it was the best nail service she has ever received in Michigan. See people?? I know what I am talking about! The prices are great...the staff is great...the services are great...what more could you ask for??? Give Luxury Nails a shot! I came in a little after opening on valentine's day. The employees were doing eachothers nails. I was helped by one person she was rough i told her i wanted square and she gave me coffin....I was then handed off to someone else she was a little nicer but still rough. She finished my nails they dried and i left. I now notice that they made my nails too thin they weren't painted correctly and two have broke off not even a week later....I don't have a before picture but this is now 5 days later. I almost want to go back and demand a refund. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary or extreme the nails simply just broke. read more

He's great, professional fast and very detailed. He knew what I was looking for! I would come here for quality of the nails. Really great place! Very friendly and professional. My friend I went here for manicures two days ago (we only made it in about 40 minutes before they closed too so we were cutting it close) and halfway through getting our nails done there was a storm and they lost power. They handled it great and finished our nails making sure they were beautiful even though they stayed a little after their closing time to do so. Our nails came out perfect and the staff was all so friendly and handled the power outage very professionally. Very affordable prices as well for the quality of work. Best place to get your nails done. I've only gotten pedicures, but it's my go-to place. It's always hoppin' here (proof of their popularity) yet there's never a long wait. Their polish selection is massive (be sure to also check the smaller table for regular polishes and not just the main wall). I've been here with both larger groups and smaller ones and they've always been accommodating. They're hit or miss with asking you for a beverage so just speak up if they don't offer it to you! read more

Stopped in under the recommendation of my hair stylist Pat. The was no wait, just had to pick my color and have a seat. The man who did my powder dipped nails was extremely friendly. Assured me he wouldn't make the nails very thick. He took his time and made sure he buffed out any thick spots. Didn't pull my fingers hard like some other places do when you're a little tense. I came to Luxury Nails on a whim. I decided today that I needed to get a shellac/gel manicure again. I was very happy with the fact that they listened to me when I told them I did not want my nails filed or touched in anyway. I simply wanted a very good gel polish. She listened to me and she did a great job. It looks awesome. I will be coming back! Made it back again after trying a couple other places over the last 2 months. My review would be 0 stars if it was possible. I have been going to luxury nails for about 3 years now and they have gone downhill. When I first started going, everyone was polite and they always did a good job on my nails with reasonable pricing. Now, everything is overpriced, my nails usually don't look very good, and all the employees are rude. Unless you are planning on getting nails without designs or multiple colors, I would not recommend going here. 'Base prices' are like $25 for polish and if you add on designs or multiple colors, it can cost $70. My past two experiences here were terrible, they filed my nails unevenly and messed up the design I asked for. The previous time, I asked for a design and after beginning the design, the tech decided that she could not do it and made me pick a new one, which she then did in a rush and my nails looked terrible. If you're thinking about getting your nails done here, don't. Also, last time I got my nails done they threw in one of the nail drill pieces in with the nail polish remover being used to take off my acrylics, while my nails were still soaking in the remover. I guess that's their way of cleaning their supplies. There are far better salons for the same price or cheaper. Do not go here. read more

I'm cheated on my nail tech and tried out this place and I was SUPER surprised! I got an appointment with Lily and I recommend her to the moon and back! I came into the salon with a grown out dip manicure and I wanted dip again. They don't have a ton of colors for dip which is unfortunate but it's the best dip manicure I've had so far. I picked a gray and I asked her if it would be sheer and she said no but if I felt like it was too sheer she could add a clear powder coat as the first layer to make it more opaque. This makes me happy from the get go because I can tell the nail tech is on the same page as me, yes I am crazy for my nails lmao. She shaped them well and buffed them down toas thin as she could make them. She knew exactly what I wanted because we have similar taste for nails. After the appointment. She placed me on the massage chair and rubbed my hands, it was very relaxing. The only thing that I didn't like was the price tag. To get a dip manicure it was $50!!!! My regular nail tech charges $35 ish but $50??? Yes it was a really great service but I thought it was kind of ridiculous. I would definitely come back but only for important events like weddings or graduations. I would only recommend Lily but her schedule fills up fast. I stumbled upon this place last March when I had a whim to get a manicure done. I had shellac put on my nails at that first walk in and I've never looked back. Since then, I've been to Luxury Nails usually about every two weeks to get a manicure and once a month I add in a pedicure. Although I've walked in a couple other times, calling ahead is always a good thing, that way I know that I won't have to wait long. I've introduced several of my friends to Luxury Nails, and they're all clients now. I think I've had every single nail tech in the salon do my nails and they're all consistently good. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are friendly (I was amazed that they knew me by name when I walked in the second time and I'm always offered a drink) and there is never a dull moment there. Came here because I saw good reviews. I recently moved out to the area and am in need of a new nail tech. I came in for a pedicure and to get my pink and white nails filed down a bit and painted. The pedicure was really nice. She took her time, and my nails looked wonderful. After she filed down my nails I decided I no longer wanted to paint them, but just put a top coat on because I still had a decent amount of the white tip left. The nail tech got a little annoyed with me that I had changed my mind. It was in that moment I realized that this wasn't my new nail place. I was disappointed in her reaction to my decision. They used to be very good, all the nail techs, but Recently I have not had good experiences there. They have some really great techs but the last few times I've been there I've gotten subpar techs. Today I had a lady who was who was not happy I was only getting a regular manicure and it was obvious. She rushed through my manicure in like 10 minutes and got blue ink from the pen she left on the table after I paid for my mani. I requested squared off shape and I now have a mix of squared and rounded nails plus she cut me when she was trimming my cuticles and she didn't clean under my nails. Like I said there are some really great techs there but the last 3 ladies who have done my nails were horrible. read more

I've been here twice now so I feel like I can give it a fair review. Unfortunately I did have the same nail tech twice and he wasn't great. Really wanted to love this place. I have had many manicures and the reviews of this place seemed so high that I thought I would try it out. Got a dip powder manicure here - somehow the clear gel top coat managed to peel off almost every nail after one week. I've had dip powder before and this should not happen. Within 2 weeks it was cracked and looked like garbage. I've had dip powder last beautifully for 3 weeks before. This costs $50 here and I didn't even get a hand massage. Not the relaxing experience I was looking for. The pedicure I got was pretty good, nothing amazing but not bad at all. Lasted a good 2 weeks before chipping. My second time here I got a gel manicure or "shellac" as some places like to call it after the CND brand named it. It looks good minus a fuzzy that is caught under the gel on one nail. Minimal hand massage this time. We'll see how long it all lasts. Then I found out it costs $40 for this here. That's very steep for a gel manicure and honestly I would try another tech here but I won't pay that for something that costs me $27-$35 elsewhere. Positives are that this place is really clean and everyone is friendly. Don't really recommend, unfortunately! read more
