What a cool nail shop! After searching the area for a new nail shop, I stumbled upon this place via Google. I called ahead and requested an appointment ahead of time to ensure my nails could be done. Lee Nails #2 is located in a tiny strip center just down the street from Main St. in Royal Oak. Parking is FREE and plentiful. While the color selection is limited I ended up finding the perfect color for my nails. I got a pedicure and dip powder on my nails and I couldn't be more happy. Andy, did my nails and I loveeee them! The technician was extremely professional and very down to earth. Normally, I don't like to talk at a nail salon but seeing as it was by appointment only and I was the only person in the shop at the time I started a conversation that turned out to be great. Faye is amazing! The nature of being a traveling musician means it tough to call ahead -- and I desperately needed gel-x removal and extensions. She accommodated me and my small window of availability (i called the night before! of course if you're in town, call ahead!) and did a beautiful job. She gently removed the old nails properly without damaging my nail bed. My cuticles looked perfect, and are still not fraying a week and a half later. She has a wide range of colors and is funny as hell! You can't tell how beautiful and dynamic this color is from the pics, but it was wonderful and she was patient letting me pick/helped me. This has been one of my regular spots for my mani and pedi. It's reasonably priced and quick too. I have only had a few instances of a 15-20 minute wait. It's changed hands a few times since I started going, but every owner since has been good. The better part is it's a short walk from home. read more

I came here with 2 other girl fiends to get shellac manicures. They have competitive pricing here! Shellac is only $25. They were very good about keeping our appointments and being ready for us. Some nail places I have been to take walk-ins despite having an appt soon. The nail technicians were very friendly and attentive. They took their time with each of us and made sure not to rush despite having a walk-in waiting. The place is clean and they have a pretty good selection of nail polish colors. The only downside is, I have a feeling my shellac will not last 2 weeks. Even though my cuticles were done, I don't think he applied the shellac low enough on the nail bed near the cuticles, so my nails look as if it has been at least a week old even though it has only been 4 days. read more

I just went in to have a pedicure, and was pleasantly surprised at the price and the service. the place hasn't got all of the bells and whistles that some of the fancier nail places have, but has friendly staff. My pedicure took about 30 to 40 minutes and was very satisfying. It is however just what it is made out to be. A friend wanted to go for mani/pedis and recruited me to go with. I found Lee's on yelp and made a appointment based on the reviews. Lee's is small, nothing fancy. They do a good job and have reasonable prices ($35 for a mani/pedi, french tips are more). They had a good variety of polishes. My friend had french tips done and it came out perfectly (the owner did her nails). They were busy the entire time we were there but this did not appear to effect the service they provided. Everything was also clean, which is something that you would expect, but I have heard about problems at other places. If you are a regular the owner told us they will provide a box with tools that are only used on you. read more

This is a smaller, clean, nice shop. Usually just two guys in the shop at any given time. Not your typical nail techs, but really personable. I came in here to have my acrylics filled a handful of times. I will say, this is probably the best shaped nails I have ever received. They were perfectly tapered on the side, they were just beautiful. The problem was, they did not hold up. The tips were consistently breaking, I was lucky if I could make it two weeks without my acrylic breaking. As someone who has had acrylics for 13 years, with minimal issues, this was very disappointing. The last straw was when one of the acrylic nails began to lift, within 1 week of getting them done. At this point, I had to find a new salon. I think this is a great place for a gel/dip manicure, or a pedicure, just not the best place for acrylics. read more

Andy & Faye saved the day!!! Walked in on a Saturday afternoon in distress due to another salon absolutely botching my nails and needing to get them fixed before an event that evening. Faye & Andy were able to squeeze me into their appointment-only afternoon and fix not only the gel polish but the actual shape of my nails. They take great pride in their work and they earned a client for life by going the extra mile (and staying late!) to make sure that I was happy. ANDY is Fantastic he's always attentive , professional and always gets me in. Now his 'partner' FAYE is the rudest most unprofessional nail tech that I've ever met! She called me a F'in bia in a salon full of clients all because I called her unprofessional after she had called out another client as soon as she walked in the door asking when her and her daughter had made an appointment. Because there is no communication between partners at this salon. Andy has done my nails long before he ever got involved with Faye!!! The co-owner is chatty and kept us entertained. He mentioned they had taken over the place a few months ago and completely redid the place. My technician did an excellent job prepping on my manicure and pedicure. He exfoliated my feet very well, though I was scared at first because it looked like he had a cheese grater in his hand! My feet were wonderfully smooth after he was done. Downside was unfortunately the nail color itself. For some reason when we looked at them outside, there were air bubbles in the nail color. He took his time taking care in each finger and toe. He was social and carried a conversation but was also comfortable in silence. I'd give this place a solid 3.5. I am in no way a "nail person" - I've had a handful of manicures so I'm no expert. After searching yelp for places nearby this places looked like great value. I went in a Friday afternoon and walked right in. I had a normal pedicure/manicure and it was super cheap, only $35!! The place was fine, not super clean spa feel, but not bad for the value - what I'd expect. The guy who did my nails was really friendly and professional. The only reason I bumped this down was my nails took forever to dry. I let them dry for a couple hours, but then I nicked one of my nails fairly easily. That night while sleeping they had impressions from my sheets and shoes I wore all night. I get that they need some time to dry - but this seemed excessive. Otherwise I left with nicely trimmed & polished bails at a great price! read more

Good! I had seen some questionable reviews so I stayed away for a while but it's just too close to my house to not try. I typically get shellac but went with a normal manicure as sort of a test run. It's the best normal manicure I've had in years. I got it about three or four days ago and it has stayed on perfectly. I was very surprised when I saw it was just two guys working and they didn't seem like the typical expert manicurists. I have been coming to Lee Nails II for maybe 5+ years to get a manicure and pedicure from the owner Kim. I even moved from the Royal Oak area and still drive 1/2 hour just to get a pedicure from Kim because i will not trust anyone else to do my toes. You know what i mean ladies! I have tried other fancy salon and spa's only to come and find out you have to be a licensed doctor to remove an ingrown toe nail. Come on, what a joke. When Kim has not been there, i have occasional used Danny and Ann for services which i have also been very happy with. The employees are very talented in what they do. Usually short wait times and you can also call ahead and make an appointment, sterile supplies and happy end results. The prices are EXTREMELY competitive, its clean and you can sit back and watch tv while you get a Jacuzzi foot scrub. They all give amazing massages. Come in and check it out for yourself. read more

A decent little nail spot. It's small - only about 5 each of nail stations and pedicure chairs. And I wish their selection of colors was a bit bigger. But they're friendly, reasonably priced, and fast - so all in all I got what I needed. A full gel set was $25, and my eyebrow wax was was $8. When I walked in there was only one other customer, so I was able to sit right now. There were only two techs working on a Friday afternoon (which is prime nail time, to get your hands right for the weekend) so all customers who came in after me were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. That's kind of annoying. I don't mind a wait if the shop is slammed, but it wasn't - just understaffed. Not only that, there's not really a clear waiting area so clients were just told to sit at one of the empty nail stations to wait. Everything other than that was fine, it's about 5 days in and my nails are still looking good. I was happy with the prices and with the service I received, and the place itself was cute and clean. They just need to get a few more techs in to accommodate the customer flow, and they'll be all set. read more
