I had previously been to the salon when the old owners owned it and had a very unpleasant experience: it was not very clean and the work was average at best. Those people have since lost their business and now this nice couple has taken over and done some much needed remodeling. Their prices are very reasonable, and their work is professional. The owner of the store is very friendly, and has had a lot of experience working in other nail salons. I highly recommend this nail salon out of many in the area. read more

Probably the worst manicure I've ever gotten!! I went with a friend. I did a regular mani pedi, my friend just a pedicure. We got taken care of immediately but somehow ended up there for two hours! The woman took 45 minutes to just do a simple French on my nails!! She couldn't get the shape of my nail right. Then, she painted my nails pink however, the pink she used was old and so thick and uneven it looks red on different nails! There was red on the French tip and she tried to leave it that way. When I asked her to fix it she got upset because she had to redo the whole thing! My friend's pedicure was uneven. The guy who did her pedi skipped cutting some of her nails and left them different lengths, the paint was uneven, and he left her with patches of dry/dead skin around her cuticles. Mani's and Pedi's with the ladies was a success! The shop was hopping when we arrived, but they got us in quickly and didn't rush to complete our services. It seems the prices may have went up a little recently, but for $35, you get a great mani & pedi! We were offered bottles of water (first for me) several times throughout our time spent at Lee Nails and the staff working on us were very friendly and engaged us in good conversation. My girlfriend and I have decided that lunch in Royal Oak followed by a trip to Lee Nails will be our new tradition when our men go out golfing for the day!! read more

I recently moved to the area and was excited that this had great yelp reviews and was literally around the corner from my house. I have been here twice now and feel as though I've given it a fair chance, but I don't think I'll be returning unless I'm desperate for a cheap and convenient manicure. The first con is that their polishes are old and they have a limited selection of colors. Also, my biggest concern about nail salons is cleanliness, and this place is not the best in that area. The first time I had a mani/pedi for $35, which is a reasonable price in general. But the massage and treatments were nothing special, and after I went home I noticed that my nails had little bubbles in them. My manicure began chipping after only a couple days. The second time I brought my own new bottle of Essie polish for just a manicure ($13). The tech did the nails very quickly and it wasn't the best paint job. Also, my nails still have little bubbles, and I realized it's from the sticky old top coat that they use. I would much rather pay a few more dollars for a manicure that looks good and lasts a week. To me that is a better deal for my money. read more

I was a walk in today (Friday) and they took me right away. They had four people working. Nice, neat, little place. One man did my toes and did an excellent job. Another man did my nails and I wanted tiny stiletto nails. He said it was impossible, but he did exactly what I wanted anyway and did a great job! Full set plus a pedicure for $50? Wow, I wouldn't recommend going here. I have been getting shellac manis for years and this is definitely my worst experience. They don't use that special base layer (it's thin, watery, you know what I'm talkin about) and just use a base coat. Well top that off with very short dry times (they insist you only need 30 seconds per round) and my shellac peeled off this evening! The kicker, I got it done late this afternoon. No joke! Ugh! Maybe this is why their prices are so cheap?? I didn't even need a shellac but I just got one since I was already there. Should've kept my old polish on. Damnit. Pedi seems fine, very rushed though. Don't come here to relax but do come for a pedi if you are in a hurry. So much for my Sunday alone time :/ Two stars because the pedi is "ok" and the staff is nice enough. However, to note this isn't a clean shop and definitely wouldn't be passing any inspections from a nail salon reality show if you catch my drift. I guess it's back to the just fine nails 007 and paying 30 more bucks. Can't royal oak get a decent nail salon? read more

I had a Mani/Pedi today. What a relaxing treat. I love this place. My last shellac manicure lasted 3 weeks and aside from my nail growth it held up. Since its been under new management, this is my new favorite place to go. The staff is always friendly, and professional. At first I wasn't sure about the color selection, based on another review? But they have all of the popular/spring/summer colors, as well as a huge variety in both shellac, and regular polish. My nails look great and I get compliments on my eyebrows. I was so nervous about trying a new place, but after my favorite tech left my old salon, there was really no draw for me to keep making the drive up there, and this place is closer to me and MUCH more reasonable in price. Good salon- they did a good job with my manicure and it was decently priced. They actually open at 12 on Sunday, not 11.

Out of all the nail places I have tried in the metro Detroit area, this place definitely did the best job. I got a regular, no frills manicure here for $13 by a really sweet quiet lady. She shaped my nails perfectly the way I wanted them, and she painted them really well. They lasted about a week before chipping and still looked pretty good even after they started to chip a little. This is going to be my go-to in the future for manicures. I liked that it was fairly priced and the other workers seemed to know how do nails well. There were a lot of people on a Sunday afternoon, so I had to wait about 10 minutes, but it wasn't bad at all. The price and location is great, and the parking lot has a lot of spots. read more

I so miss the cute old couple that used to run this place! They were the best! The management now, not so much. I recently went in to get a manicure before a wedding, and left frustrated. The young lady that did my nails was nice enough, but nice doesn't make my nails look good. They were all filed crooked, the paint was uneven and bubbled in some places. After an hour, they should have been perfect. I would have stayed to get them fixed, but I did have a bunch of stuff to do before that wedding! I really wanted to like this place since most of the reviews are so great and its so close to my house. But, I got a fill on acrylics with Schellac and it didn't even last TWO HOURS before having to go back and get it fixed. Fast forward 3 days and every single nail has a chip and looks awful. My sister and I love this place. We have always left quite pleased and we are very particular about our nails!! We never had to wait and we have never not been very happy with our nails. It amazes me that someone would walk into a place 20 minutes before closing knowing that they are going to have to be there for 45 minutes and are annoyed because they are not served. This is just plain inconsiderate on the customer's part. This place is much cheaper than any place around and I highly recommend it. One time my nails chipped early and when I went back, he made it right. Never did they chip again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

So the first time I came here it was amazing. Gave them the best review. The last three times they have not honored any appointments made with me and also the work done with the nails was mediocre at best. This last time I have them a last and third chance and to honor their appointment with me and I walk in and they tell me we do not take appointment on weekends and Friday's it will be an hour wait mind you I spoke with an employee a couple hours previously to make sure this didn't happen again. So at this point I will find another place and I do not recommend them any more because 1 good visit and now 4 bad ones is just not worth it since there is only one nail tech that actually does a good enough job. Sooooo many polish colors to choose from as well. Im going to start coming here more often, I usually go to Luv or Luxury nails, but I'm never satisfied with the result from those salons. The service was outstanding... we were greeted the moment we walked in. The owner, Javier, did a great job on my pedicure. I am usually very ticklish and he did a great job keeping the tickle factor of a pedicure to a minimum! The prices are very reasonable ($25 for pedi) and he even threw in a touch up to my existing mani at no extra charge. I will definitely be back. And highly recommend that you try it! read more

Tina and Javier took over the shop in 2014 and have been constantly working to ensure that their business is successful. They have been renovating, painting and rearranging to make their shop as nice as possible. They also really care about their customers. I have been going to the shop for about 6 months and I have never left feeling like my nails were anything less than perfect. However, if I did have an issue I know I could speak up and they would gladly help me. Excellent quality and customer service - and the price is great too! read more

Never been here before, thought id try it out. Got there 20 minutes before they closed and I was turned away. I clarified with the staff that they didn't close for another 20 minutes and was told again they weren't taking any more customers for the day. That is a horrible way to run a business - i work at a doctor's office and we take patient's right up until closing. Needless to say I won't be returning and I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Went in today to get a gel manicure. I have not lived in Michigan very long and this is the first place I have visited. Javier did an amazing job! I always like to leave my moons exposed and in the past have had difficulty finding shops willing to do that; however not only were they completely willing to leave my moons, they looked amazing.
