My daughter and I have had a standing date every other Saturday for a couple of years. We love the variety of products available (I always get dip and pedicure with shellac), the interesting innovative colors, the great customer service and artistic ability to do fun designs and effects, competitive pricing, and the clean, professional, friendly environment. We recently got my 92-year-old MIL to come with us now and the care and patience they give her, making her feel so special and pampered is very much appreciated. I highly recommend Tim, Lena and their whole staff at Happy Nails!

Tim did an excellent job! I asked for the shape (stiletto), medium length, not too sharp or pointy just natural looking somewhat squared. I had 2 nails pop off from the prior nail salon. I haven't been here in quite some time and decided to give it a try again. I'm glad I did! I'm so picky and sometimes over explain what I want because I've had some pretty bad experiences in the past. I showed him a picture and said that was what I wanted just not as long and he matched the shape and color exactly! I will be back to see how good their pedi's are now... I definitely need a good one!

Let me start by saying I have loved this place for years and recommended to everyone I knew!! Well I haven't been in a while and made an appointment for a mani & pedi for the wedding I'm standing up in in 5 days. Was just told they've been under new ownership for about 6 months now. I show some pictures I'm interested in and Tim did a wonderful job taking his time to ensure my nails are perfect for the wedding I'm standing in! I was quoted $45 for a full set. I understand up charges, considering I am also in the beauty industry but it is pretty standard to let your clients know "you would like black tips on 4 nails? That's $20 is that okay with you?" Or just look at the picture, and explain what you would be doing to the client to achieve that look, then quote the price you estimate it will be. Don't tell me $45 and jewels are $5/nail, then charge me a total of $125.00. Would not recommend unless you want to keep asking every five seconds if what they are doing is an up charge. Missing Mimi who was friendly, talkative, and explained pricing and budget BEFORE the service. Sorry Tim, I was pleased with your work, but was not pleased with the non communication. I most likely will not be returning. Good luck in your business.

First time here. Tim worked on my nails. Removed old ones and applied new French manicure gel. Different technique from painting. Used pink and white gel. Makes sense. Price was higher than expected, but I'm ok with it for good service and results. That's what I got. They were also dealing with a loud and rude customer.

This is the nail salon if you're : -a little wild -non pretentious -looking for your nails to LAST - wanting to feel at home Tried this place on a whim, got a same day appt. My dip mani and shellac pedi took 2 hours and they really paid attention to my cuticles and answered my questions. It's a little pricey but worth it for sure. I made an appt next month already. The sisters who did my nails made me feel so comfortable and welcome. I loved it and felt like I was in such capable hands. Literally.

I tried this place out for my first time and i will definitely be back! I came roughly 45 minutes before they closed and they were willing to take me in. Tim did my nails and he did not rush at all and they look amazing. i love them so much and i'll be back! Great price too for a full set acrylic powder with shellac polish!

I will not be retuning here again. Was not very happy with my nails, and my nail tech agreed with me, yet didn't fix my nails at all. The polish was poorly applied and 2 days later the shellac is chipping. Save yourself your money by looking elsewhere.

Terrible. I came in for a fill in after moving from New Orleans. The lady did my fill in and it didn't match. If I had have known that it wasn't going to match/blend then I would I've just gotten a soak off but she proceeded to do what she wanted. On top of that no one did anything to accommodate me after I told them I wasn't happy with my service.

Everyone there was super nice and sweet first off. I got a full acrylic set and pedicure and they both look sooo freaking good. I made an appointment which is smart because they fill up fast. I had Mimi as my nail tech and she was so nice and had the cutest nails herself. You can tell she really knows what she is doing and pays attention. I can't say enough good things. Thanks guys for the banging nails!

Mimi is fantastic. I was able to make a last minute appt on a weekday evening and I'm glad I did. Best manicure of my life. Shape is perfect, she fixed up my cuticles which most places I've been to don't do with an acrylic fill, recommended a new color and matte top coat combo that was awesome, and was very friendly and easy to talk to. 10/10 will be back. I found my new nail salon!

I stopped in today for a pedicure. I have a party to hit tonight and figured I'd try out this place. Upon arrival the shop was super clean on the inside and I saw they were still using the tub covers for the pedicures which I was extremely happy about. I waited a good 10min before I was sat down in one of the chairs and waited another 10 before being serviced. That wasn't unusual nor uncommon to me. When I tell you that Fong gave the BEST foot and leg message ever during a pedicure, it's not an understatement. She was very attentive and kept up a good conversation. I really appreciate the time she took to take care of the little things I asked for. Going back for future pedicures for sure. read more

WHATUPDOE I must say I AM Pleasantly surprised by this Happy nail spot up the street for me. I was attended in a special occasion that evening, and thankfully, I was paired with Vivian. She did not speak much English, but she did a efficient manicure, No flaws, ALL RED@ I will say, if you're getting polished. You're going to have repolish about 2 days, So gel polish would last longer. I do recommend this place they'll get the job done. Quiet vibe, massage shares. I love the plants, they're real. Real men do get mani-pedi's! This has been my go-to place for a while. Mainly because it's right down the street, but primarily because it's easy for me to get an appointment and they do a good job. I put my ear pods in and go to a different planet of relaxation! Also, they do very good calf massages with the pedi's which feels so good. Be good to yourself and give yourself some self-care! You deserve it! read more

UPDATE!!!!!!! Went back. Decided to give this place another try due to its other ratings. Tony...is like the pedicure god! I got a basic pedi but go deluxe. Trust me & thank me later. Came here on a whim because the nail salon that I frequent was too busy to accommodate me, but I am super glad I found this place! I was on a crunch for time and I was able to be seen right away. The man who did my nails was pleasant and he did an amazing job on my dip manicure. I will be back! read more

These nails are cute! I wish I had my nails done by the daughter because of how talented her work is but they still did a good job. I was so scared at first because it's been a long time since I've got fake nails... I was going to freak out. But they did a very good job on me and my friends nails. I'm in Detroit visiting my mother and it was time for a fill and a pedi. I was a walk in and even though it was the day before Independence Day and the place was packed, I didn't have to wait long. I got the $40 pedicure with the mud and parrafin wax. Hayley took her time, was very personable, and did an excellent job. Next up was my fill. The mom took care of me and was very good at giving me exactly what I wanted. In all, I was there about 3 hours but it was definitely worth it. read more

Just moved to the area from LA, went to this nail salon based on reviews. Not sure how they got 4.5 stars. Had a gel mani, by far the worst I've ever had. The gentleman doing my nails was very distracted and payed no attention to detail. Glad I got a light color because my mani looks terrible. Too bad because this place is a 10 minute walk. I will not be returning. read more

The wait may be long, so book an appointment. I suggest with Mimi and/or Tony. I've been 3 time. My second visit was a little disappointing for 2 reasons. The man who did my pedicure had dirty fingernails once he removed his gloves to polish my toes. Second the walk in nail tech rushed my nails and the shape was all wrong. However, Mimi to the rescue. My last set however literally gave me life. read more

The woman at the front desk was very kind and polite. I had a guy do my manicure and pedicure and it lasted for 3 weeks without chipping. The pedicure was okay but maybe next time I'll have to get a "deluxe pedicure" because my feet were barely scrubbed. Overall the experience was pleasant and I love the fact that they are very sanitary. read more

I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.

But it's also for the eyebrow threading empire that is Eastland Center. There are no fewer than three separate eyebrow threading places in this mall. Two are in kisoks, and the third is a full-fledged salon (hidden in the least traveled corridor in the mall, but super convenient in terms of quick escape routes, which will be discussed in more detail in a few seconds...) For all I know, Eastland Mall might be to eyebrow threading what NYC's Little Italy used to be to restaurants: lots of different storefronts, but only one kitchen. Or these places might actually be real competitors, which would explain the crazy emphasis they place on giving out loyalty cards. Either way, all three get the job done really well and at a good price--- standard eyebrow threading is $8 across the board. I generally pick which one to go to on any given trip by quickly cruising through and determining which has no wait list. If I happen to go on a Saturday evening, I choose the salon, because Eastland Center can be a little...exciting...on the weekends, and that one is closest to the mall exit and it's the most private. From what I've seen, none of these places has a public phone number, and they don't take appointments. But they do take credit cards. And tips are appreciated.
