Installation team did a terrible job putting down a marmoleum floor in my kitchen. The floor leveling turned out a bit lumpy. They left visible cutting mistakes along the edges. They broke my stove, knocking the thermostat knob off, costing me $200 in replacement parts. I had to intervene when the installers tried to attack my refrigerator doors with screwdrivers, thinking they had to unscrew the doors to move it out of the way. (I quickly and easily took care of it myself.) They reattached my baseboards with double-sided tape, which didn't actually work. They discarded the screws and brackets to my dishwasher toe kick and tried to tape it back on, which failed as well. The flooring began lifting up along the edges and the installer had to be called back twice to re-glue it, leaving rough spots where they inserted a syringe to squirt glue underneath the marmoleum. The installers brought in big landscaping stones from my garden to weigh it down. The installation team were nice enough guys but the words "competent," and "professional," have no place in describing Luxor Floors. What a crazy experience!! read more

Pre-sale responsiveness was very good. Quick responses. But, no communication just before installation and there were some surprises. Seems the Luxor store does not communicate well with its installers. The installation was done well but the whole process was so rushed that we spent many tiresome hours (day and night). scrambling to clear things from one room so they could move on to the next. We asked that are squeaky floors be remedied and they were not. Afterward, we were told "they'd tried" but aren't authorized to do more than they did. Our neighbor had a similar issue and their installer fixed that problem. Advice: Understand the timing of the installation. Husband and I purchased a 2000sqf home. The home had no less than 4 types of floors throughout and a sunken living room (hello 70s). We knew right away that the floors would be one of the bigger and more important projects to take on. We contacted 5 flooring companies to get quotes. Of those 5, Luxor was the shining star. One floor guy actually RAN AWAY from the job. Another said he could do the floors, but wouldn't raise/level the sunken room. Another said he wouldn't remove the carpet (what floor company doesn't remove old carpet???). One guy gave us a bid that was 60% higher than what we ended up getting. Finally Patrick from Luxor walked in and WOW'd us right away. After thinking the project was going to be too hard or too complicated or too expensive, Patrick made us feel normal again. Tile floors stuck to concrete? -- "NO problem guys, we can fix that".... a sunken 70's living room? --- "we do this all the time!" You name it, and Patrick could handle it. He gave us some PRO tips when it came time to pick our floors, super smart, things we would have never considered. He went as far to drop off samples for us all the way in Pacifica, and let us come in on the fly to talk over the options. So, yes, Patrick & Luxor rock.... but let's get to the actual labor... RICK AND WALTER. These guys knocked it out of the park. We ended up having a tight timeline before some other things needed to get done and these two didn't so much as blink at that... they were committed, they seemed excited to be doing the job (they went as far as taking photos to send us during the work so that we could have the progress photos for the future) and were SO POLITE. We had our carpets replaced by Luxor and they did a fantastic job. I had done my research at a bunch of carpet and flooring stores and shopped around, and I ultimately chose Luxor based on price, selection, friendliness, knowledge, and speed. (Hint hint: don't waste your time/money at a big box store for carpet.) I already pretty much had in mind what I wanted, but they actually recommended something just as good and much less expensive. The carpet they installed looks and feels fantastic, and while installing you could see they put a lot of care into their work, as if doing it for themselves. They also were able to do the work much sooner than any other place I checked out. I am very happy with their service. We went to Luxor Floors on a Saturday and Luis gave us a really detailed description and a quote. It was more expensive than we thought, so Luis recommended a cheaper model with a similar floor quality and gave a separate estimate accordingly. After that, before the construction contract, the down payment was paid online and everything was carried out without the need to visit the company. I think this is a really good way to do this in the current pandemic situation. We thought about the construction period for about a week, but unexpectedly, it ended incredibly quickly in 3 days. Both the finish and the quality were satisfactory, and the workers seemed to work neatly. It is fast and they have fair pricing. Now I enjoy my flooring. I had Luxor Floors install carpet in my newly purchased house. It was an easy and quick process. Luis came out to my house to show me samples and offered recommendations on what I should choose. You can go to their store in Burlingame as well to look at everything they have to offer. I met Patrick at the store, and he was great at completing the scheduling process, including the final payment which can be done with credit card. The day of install was fast and efficient. There were four men who came out to install the carpet. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Their prices are reasonable (they have discounts!), and they do a great job. I would recommend them for carpet installation. Based on what I saw at the store, I am sure that they would do a great job with other floorings as well. read more

In short, I highly recommend Luxor floors. They deliver quality and follow through that most contractor do not. I really appreciated the great communication with Patrick, his wealth of knowledge, walking me through the process, and his connections. The two men who did the work, the subcontractors, had 15 years experience, were professional, quick, nice, trustworthy. I live in an 1100 sq ft condo with an HOA and it requires tedious approvals and follow through. Patrick made sure to get me the info needed. There was a slightly delay where it took 2 days of work instead of the 1 day initially estimated but price stayed the same and the result was stunning... as you can see. Before finding Luxor, I called about 7-8 other contractors and they were flakey, inconsistent, higher prices. I spent about $2k on the engineered hardwood white oak for the large living room plus my building requires expensive sound proofing, and the work was about $2k for 2 days 9- 5pm from start to finish, pull dropping off the wood 2 days before, which they did quickly, carefully and as non-obtrusively as possible. They put my furniture back perfectly and were just really lovely to work with, despite the slight delays, out of their control. 5 stars. read more

Since I had used Luxor Floors to instal carpeting in a Burlingame property, which turned out great, I decided to have them look at a San Francisco property I was remodeling that needed flooring. The day after I called Luxor, Patrick drove to San Francisco to measure the square footage and look at the floors which were really destroyed from construction and 90 years of wear and tear. I wanted to refinish the floors, but when I went into Luxor the owner, Louis, explained that the wood was very thin and could be refinished, but he also showed me beautiful new wood flooring options. Louis' and Patrick's style is completely without pressure and totally honesty, which I really appreciated since this was a big decision and I was already stressed out. I finally decided it was best to put in new Reward flooring (a local manufacturer). The installers came to the house, dropped off the new hardwood flooring to acclimate for a few days, demolished the old floors, repaired the subfloor extensively, and when I asked them to install the flooring in a diagonal pattern they agreed without any problem. In fact they were very nice during the whole installation which went into the night. There were only a few left-over pieces, so the measuring was perfect and no money was wasted. It's all finished now and I'm extremely happy with the whole entire process of working with Luxor Floors, including the sales team, extensive flooring options, installation, and reasonable pricing. I wouldn't go anywhere else for flooring or carpeting. They have some very high-end carpeting options as well that are fun to look at when you go to the store. It has been several years since they replaced our flooring, but they have been one of the best contractors we have used. Our floors were a patchwork of hardwood, vinyl and carpet, but were at various levels throughout the house. They leveled everything, installed luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the entire house, eliminating all thresholds at my request. They also replaced all of the baseboards. I was introduced to Patrick by a friend in the neighborhood. They had recently had some work done and convinced me that it would not be as expensive as I had previously thought. Turns out they were right. Patrick came to our home, brought us samples. Came back two-three times before we drove together to a warehouse where he showed me hundreds of styles. We finally settled on a style and went to work. Our house was built in 1941 and had a good amount of settling and undulation in the floors. His foreman, Rick and helper Walt were TRUE craftsmen. They spent days getting the sub floors perfectly level and removing squeaks from the subfloor before finally starting work. I've uploaded some during and after pics. These are not your typical fast chain installers. They took the time and went the extra mile to beautifully frame and mould corners, remove and replace my old stair spindles and frame around the hearth beautifully. We installed a hardwood floor and added a waterproof vapor barrier, during the job it turned out that our floor needed some leveling, Luis was very informative and prompt with answering our questions. We also got a better deal on the hardwood floor materials than we were quoted elsewhere. If you go through Luxor floors, make sure to ask for Rick and Walter to do your install. The other guys they use, are not licensed and are kind of sketchy if you ask me. It's nice to be able to communicate with the installers. Rick and Walter are well spoken, and always kept me in the know.
