I'm pretty furious. I trusted them with an expensive shag rug after numerous calls / texts about ensuring that they could handle the job; using organic wash and taking super care of it, not to pull it, or discolor it. They returned is about 10 days later and it went from a white shag rug to a yellow. I've called numerous times and texted to try to remedy this offline but the owner has not replied thus I'm here warning you. Photos attached of the before/after. Not to mention they first quoted me $400 and then it went up to $600 after a phone call with all the same info, which I found to be really bad business. read more

Anjum and Ahmed and their workers George and Marco did a fabulous - nearly impossible - job of cleaning our oriental rug after our elderly dog had accidents on it. I was resigned to buying another rug, but didn't need to after they did their magic. They washed it three times and managed to gently remove the stains away, leaving the rug soft and with its original colors. Rug pickup and delivery was quick and effortless for us. We we stay with Pak in the future. read more

I bought several rugs from Anjum, the President of PAK. He has a huge inventory of rugs, thousands of rugs, any style, color, or price point you want. My rugs are beautiful and top quality. They were hand-made in Pakistan, India, and Afganistan. I could not decide between two rugs for the living room so they brought out both and were very patient while we tried to decide which one we wanted. They also brought several possible runners as they knew we wanted one for the dining room and we selected one of those that they brought out. Anjum is very knowledgeable on carpets and his inventory. He has been in the carpet business all his life. He quickly understood what I was looking for and gave advice, including on which rugs would go well together. I also had PAK clean 3 rugs and repair one. They did an excellent job on those. read more

Amazing expertise and targeted suggestions. So great. Check here before buying from a mass retailer.

The selection here is incredible and I loved being able to check the thickness, patterns and subtle colors of these hand knotted rugs. Buying a rug is something that is definitely best done in person rather than online if at all possible - fortunately, it is easy to do at this store in the Bay Area! There were gorgeous antique rugs but we needed something more affordable. The team flipped through a tall stack of rugs in the sizes we wanted, and we picked out a few favorites. Then we were able to compare the "favorites" side by side and selected one of them. Going into the store, I thought these rugs would be out of my price range, but Ahmed offered a 50% discount on our favorite rug. I am thrilled with the purchase - the rug looks gorgeous in our house! read more

I can't see enough how much I appreciate the kindness and excellent work that Pak Rugs did to clean some deeply stained rugs that I thought were beyond cleaning. I know so little about the business of rugs but felt safe even in the midst of the pandemic. I will certainly go back for cleaning and shopping for new rugs as well. read more

Pak Oriental Rug did a great job cleaning two wool/silk blend rugs for me recently. They made it super easy to pick up in Marin and deliver to an address in SF, and both rugs look fantastic. They may not be the cheapest, but the service is excellent and the work stellar. They also made a new pad for one of the rugs, it was a good idea to start all fresh as over time the pads get to be not so good - the one we had was about 15 years old. Will definitely use Pak again. read more

Bountiful store and amazing customer service to match!! Anjem, the owner, helped us look through dozens of rugs to find the perfect fit for our new house. Despite having a price range at the lowest end of their merchandise, Anjem enthusiastically showed us rug after rug until we found the one that fit our taste, color and price. This store has 5 star reviews for a reason. We love our rug and will pass this on to generations to come!! read more

Excessively and ridiculously expensive to appoint of being out of all competition and charging four times as much as everybody else.

I was lucky enough to deal with owner Anjum. With a lifetime of knowledge and expert eye, he selects the hundreds of gorgeous hand-knotted rugs for sale in the family's big showroom in San Francisco. I chose about a half dozen rugs to view from the easy-to-search web site. He treated me with great courtesy, patiently laying them out ahead of my visit, letting me take hours to decide. I went to Pak Oriental Rugs to replace a kilim I'd lost in March to carpet moths. Talking with Anjum made me realize that his artisans could have saved it. But, I must say, my new rug is beautiful. read more

I needed 15 imported wool rugs cleaned--Afghan, Iranian, Turkish, Indian, Kazaktanian, Pakistani and Tibetan. After sending an initial inquiry email on a Saturday, the owner Anjum got back to me on Sunday and we talked at his grandson's birthday party. True to his word, they picked up the carpets, cleaned and repaired them, and returned them in good condition within the timeframe he specified. This is an amazing company and I absolutely recommend that you use Pak Oriental Rug to clean your carpets! I may even buy 1 or 2 more carpets from him! read more

Wow, talk about life savers! Magenta ink spilled on a very expensive 12' x 4' cream and grey handmade special order 100% wild silk rug. I was beyond frantic and called Pak Oriental Rug. They were closed for the night but the following day, they phoned me, came to the house and took the rug away immediately. While it was being cleaned and repaired Anjum would phone me to let me know the progress and assure me that all was going to be okay. He was very thorough, very professional, very straight forward. The rug was cleaned/repaired perfectly, you cannot even tell there was anything ever spilled on it! I hope and pray that nothing like this ever happens to the other rugs but at least I know that if it does Pak Oriental Rugs can save the day. True professionals. read more

For cleaning, absolutely impeccable, from the quote to the customer service to the quality of the work!!! They took a very nice rug that had not been cleaned in over 10 years and made it look new again. And they are ALL super nice and helpful. I will definitely use them again. And if I were in the market for a new rug- they have some of the nicest, most vibrant rugs I have ever seen. Gorgeous. read more

Amazing store! Ahmed took great care of us throughout the whole rug-buying experience, showing us (what seemed like) hundreds of rugs and helping us discover what would work best in our home. He let us take home 5 different rugs to try out for a few days - which was immensely helpful since it is almost impossible to tell if a rug is the right one for your space from the showroom floor. We settled on a 29 foot runner for our long edwardian hallway and a 6x9 for the living room. They look great and feel like part of our home! read more

My wife and I just moved into a 1 bedroom apartment and wanted to get an oriental rug for the main room. We saw Pak when we were driving in from the airport and when I looked it up on Yelp and saw all the glowing reviews, we figured we would start our search there. Pretty much everything in the other reviews is spot on. We came in looking for a 6x9 rug, but after talking with Ahmed about the layout and showing him some pictures of the room, we ended up finding a really cool 8x8 rug that was a great fit and beautiful pattern/colors. As with others, Ahmed suggested we take the rug home for a day and try it, which we really appreciated. This a great place to buy rugs and we'll definitely go back. Ahmed was extremely knowledgeable and showed us a bunch of rugs to get a sense for what we were looking for. When we took the rug home we helped us get a cab (we had come in on foot) and really made the entire experience a pleasurable one. read more

Would give 6 stars if we could to Hassan, his brother, and their staff for this family owned business. My wife and I were in the market for an upgrade to our not-so-adult synthetic rug which had seen better days. Not knowing much about handmade rugs, finer rugs, etc, we decided to trust yelp to help us start our search. There's a reason these guys are so highly rated! From the moment we walked in to their showroom they treated us with patience and were exceptionally courteous. Hassan was very honest about the pricing and was willing to work with us with within our budget when I mentioned it to find us something we absolutely loved. The next thing I know, he had already booked a time to come to our house and allow us to see a few of the rugs we liked in the showroom on our actual living room floor to see if we still liked them. What amazing customer service...and all of this without the promise of a sale yet! Needless to say that after today, Hassan made a sale and lifelong customers from us. He was knowledgeable, not pushy, really wanted us to be well-informed, and most importantly, he wanted to make sure we really loved our purchase. And best of all, he did it in what I think was a reasonable price for the value. All in all, we walked into his showroom three days ago just to start our search not prepared to buy a thing and by the end of this week, will have a rug we will keep for a lifetime. Thanks to Hassan and his wonderful staff! Will definitely be back again in the future. read more

This Sunday my girlfriend and I decided to stop in and check out Pak Oriental Rugs. We were originally looking for something modern, but decided to take a look, and we were glad we did. It was a really great, educational experience looking at all of the beautiful rugs that they have in stock. Ahmed helped us find a style and price-point we were interested in (we were into more modern than traditional), and let us take the rug home for a day to try out. No problems when it didn't work out! The best part was the low-pressure, truly enjoyable experience of checking out the rugs. I highly recommend this place, even if you're just curious what beautiful, hand-made rugs are all about. read more

My experience at Pak was really great. Given the investment of purchasing an authentic Persian rug, I was a bit nervous after hearing horror stories about pushy rug salesmen. But the staff there were very kind, patient, and helpful. Ahmed worked with us to find exactly what we were looking for. We emailed in advance of my visit, so I could send him pics of the style/colors we were looking for. That made it easy once we got there, as he had pulled out lots of rugs to show me based on my preferences. We only planned to buy one but ended up with two.. and we love them in our new home! read more

I had such a superb experience at Pak Oriental Rug over the weekend that sharing it was a no-brainer. As a new homeowner, I was pretty much clueless when it came to rugs, but I knew I wanted something of quality that wouldn't break the bank. Ahmed helped me explore a ton of different styles, sizes, and price ranges, demonstrating a pretty amazing amount of knowledge about each. He's a guy who clearly cares about the quality of not only his wares, but also the welfare of his customers. It took me a little while to find exactly the right piece (my room is a little tricky), but Ahmed was helpful, patient, and polite throughout - never a hint of pushiness. It was like shopping with a friend - perhaps a friend who knows way more than he should about fine rugs, but a friend nonetheless. If you're in search of rugs or carpets, look no further than Pak Oriental. You won't be disappointed! read more

This place is awesome! I am a first-time home owner and knew I needed a modern, yet stylish and colorful runner rug. I am also a researcher - I went to several stores and looked online and honestly, Pak Oriental Rugs had the best selection, options and they even let me try any rugs out in my own home. The quality and customer service are both top notch and I plan to be back for other rugs I will need. The only problem was the magnitude of options, so I took my sweet time, but found the perfect runner rug. It looks amazing. read more

I just though of Pak as my wife wants a new run for our house and I purchased 6 small rugs from Pak at the last minute as I needed them for a project we were working on at work. Ahmed helped us out over the phone then gave a great price for the 6 and stayed open late for us to come buy and pick them up as we were under a deadline with clients coming in. Their selection was great when I looked around when I got there. I will be buying a rug there for personal use as well. read more

Excellent experience with Ahmed and Anjum at Pak. I live in Sonoma county and spent an entire day in San Francisco checking out rugs -- I visited about 10 rug stores, mostly in the vicinity of the SF design center. The guys at Pak were by far the best... no cheesy sales pressure, attentive and friendly service, and a great selection of high quality rugs. I love that they didn't play the games so many other rug stores do, like claiming to be having a "going out of business sale" or "70% off everything." Those games are a waste of time and Ahmed and Anjum were straight shooters who earned my trust by being direct and clear. If you are shopping for high quality rugs, definitely stop by Pak. And don't let the traditional sounding name throw you off, they have a wide variety of rugs in all different styles. read more

Our recently purchased home now showcases handmade rugs from India, Pakistan, and Tibet, thanks to the due diligence and charm of Pak Oriental. Anjam surprised us by easily meeting our demands for an array of rugs in sizes large and small and variance in look and feel, from contemporary to classic oriental. He was sensitive to our price constraints, and accommodated us in every way as we came to our final selections and made our purchasing decision. I am still enjoying my 3 beautiful large Persian carpets I purchased from Mr Butt and his sons 25 years ago. They look as good as the day I purchased them, they are excellent quality hand and hand made. I hoped they would last my life and they will. I called two weeks ago to have the carpets cleaned, they took them away the very next morning. I am happy having a carpet company I feel I have been able to trust, who know what they are doing without feeling like I am being taken to the cleaners myself. I feel I made an investment in my carpets and I have had much enjoyment from them. They will repair minor moth damage on an edge of one and will replace the underpads. these fellows know how to treat a carpet and a customer. read more

I couldn't believe the beauty and richness of the rugs that Pak Oriental Rugs restored! I have 6 rugs (Bokhara, Kazak, Turkmen, two Mahgran prayer rugs, and one Persian runner) that I inherited from my parents. The rugs were worn, frayed, and color-faded, some worse than others, with the Turkmen having a 10-inch diameter hole cut out (no idea how that happened). My wife felt they smelled, so I offered to get rid of them and replace them with new ones. When owner Anjum saw them, he said they were all of exceptional and unique quality, and he could repair all of them and make them look like new. When the rugs came back, they were stunning! The colors were vibrant, the designs were fresh, the edges/fringes were back, and the smell was gone. The hole was filled and it was hard to find where it had been. And the Kazak (with animals and figures that look like the spacemen found in American Indian petroglyphs), one of my favorite rugs, was extremely worn and now is like new. Unbelievable! I cannot get over how different they look, and I am so glad Anjum talked me into keeping them. The work by Pak Oriental Rugs goes far beyond "repair", but is a full "restoration". My parents would have rejoiced knowing how well I have taken care of these precious heirlooms. read more

We went into Pak Oriental Rugs today looking for a small rug for our entryway that would match a scalloped rug we already have. His recommendation was spot on. The new rug looks perfect in our home. read more

I brought my wool braided rug to Pak after a long search for a local company able to remove its many pet stains. Ahmed had me email photos and called me back immediately to discuss what was required to restore the rug. He quoted a reasonable price and assured me that his team has successfully cleaned this type of carpet before. We were able to drop the rug off same-day and told it would be ready in 2 weeks. Right on schedule, we got a call and picked up what looked like a brand new rug. All the odors and stains were gone (some had been sitting for months!). I could not be happier with the level of service and care provided by Pak. Based on this experience, I will definitely be returning for all my carpeting needs! read more
