Let me start by saying we love our new floors! We purchased Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and it looks and feels great. Our sales rep, TJ, was helpful and informative in the showroom, and was patient with all our questions and multiple rounds of checking out samples until we made a decision on what we wanted. Eduardo and his team did the demo & installation in just two days. They were on time and did a great job, paying attention to all the details. We spent more than we had hoped, but it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend The Floor Store on Geary. read more

The Floor Store - The only picture I have of our new floors is with our silly kitty. - Flooring Near Me - San Francisco, California

The Floor Store is a hidden gem on Clement St. They share parking with FedEx, so there's parking available, don't worry. The store is unexpectedly massive with many great engineered hardwood flooring options. I arrived at the store in a mild crisis state as I was unhappy with the vinyl flooring selections our interior designer has recently picked out for the renovation of our house built during the Edwardian period. She picked this out because vinyl was "cost-friendly," but I quickly found out many great engineered hardwood sections that were cheaper and nicer looking than vinyl with TJ's help. TJ was chill, nice, and talked to my fiancé and me for two hours, educating us on engineered hardwood flooring and helping us pick out almost 4,000 sq ft of 4 different types of flooring for four different units to help us maintain the original beauty of the Edwardian building and stay under budget. We ended up saving over $10K switching from vinyl to engineered hardwood by purchasing from The Floor Store! read more

I'm working on a flooring project and feel short abo 8 feet of vinyl mold cove in 6in. I scoured several stores and was unsuccessful. I stopped into the Floor Store on Santa Ave and right away Tom greeted me and asked how he could help. I told him the problem and within 2 minutes of looking in the warehouse he was albe to find exactly what I needed. Their customer service is awesome, all the guys in there were super friendly, and cracking jokes with me. I definitely recommend The Floor Store for anything you need that relates to your flooring project. Thanks again Tom. read more

2 stars The hardwood flooring itself looks great, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately, my experience after the installation left me very disappointed. The new baseboards they installed are about an inch taller than the baseboards throughout the rest of my apartment, making the mismatch very noticeable. They also didn't install the shoe molding/quarter round that are in the rest of my apartment. When I reached out, I spoke with Felix and Roselle, the store manager. They maintained that because the baseboard dimensions were listed in the contract I signed, they weren't responsible for the mistake. But that raises the question: if the dimensions were wrong, why were they included in the contract in the first place? Their team came out multiple times to take measurements, and I trusted the professionals to recommend materials that would match the existing baseboards in my home. I didn't realize I needed to verify that the specifications they selected were correct. They did offer to come back and replace the baseboards, but only if I paid for the labor and materials myself, even though I believe the incorrect baseboard size originated from their measurements and recommendations. No discount or goodwill adjustment was offered. What disappointed me most wasn't just the mismatch, it was the lack of accountability. Mistakes can happen, but I expected a company that stands behind its work to take some responsibility and work toward a fair solution. The flooring itself turned out beautifully, but based on my experience, I would strongly recommend reviewing every detail of your contract and specifications yourself rather than assuming the professionals have selected the correct materials for your project. read more

I just completed a sizeable project with The Floor Store and cannot rave enough about the outcome. Not only did they help select the perfect carpet for three rooms and complete the installation without a hitch, but when one carpet had a minor problem, The Floor Store fixed it promptly at their own expense. I am an admitted perfectionist and The Floor Store has exceeded my expectations 100% of the way. And, by the way, if you care about personal service, work with Felix. He is the most service-oriented person I have ever worked with, flooring or otherwise! read more

Awesome experience!! Walked in and was instantly greeted by Rodney. I was looking for a area rug for our downstairs game room. Rodney asked questions about the room, colors, and what styles did we like. He then showed me some options and we fell in love with a nice blue/white rug that was perfect for our game room. He made the whole ordering process easy. Super appreciative because I know zero about carpet/rugs. Also, came in a week later and ordered carpet for the rest of the house. Rodney and the Store Shanna both helped. Shanna is super hands on unlike store managers in other design stores. She is actually hands on and they keep you updated all the way up to when you pick the carpets. My wife felt super comfortable as well. Would definitely recommend Rodney and Shanna to anyone looking for carpet, rugs, or flooring! read more

Great selection, competitive prices. We bought our LVP flooring here through recommendation of our installer.

Everyone was incredibly helpful, nice and were able answer all of our questions. I was able find exactly what I was looking for at a great price. read more

Overall, our experience with the Floor Store was sub-par. Our advice is to find a different vendor for your flooring needs. Perhaps one who can directly own the complete experience, including sales, delivery, installation, and any necessary followup. We think our experience would have been OK or better if we didn't have such a poor experience with the installation; and much of that seems to have been due to very poor Floor Store management oversight of an outsourced installation, using contractors/sub-contractors. read more

I can't rave enough about The Floor Store SF! Shanna has been helping us with hardwood floors and carpet for four different homes in the Bay Area and its always been a great experience. Recently we had an issue due to water leakage and had to replace some of our hardwood floors. This was a complicated project but Shanna and team went above and beyond to get us the best possible solution. Our floors were finished last week and they look amazing. I highly recommend The Floor Store SF and Shanna! read more

This is our second time coming here. We had such a wonderful experience the first time, with Shanna that we decided to come back again! Years ago we had our bedrooms done and it was so quick and easy and Shanna took care of EVERYTHING! This time we had the rest of our home done. Again, Shanna was extremely helpful and patient with us (we aren't great at making decisions). It's done and looks beautiful. When she checked on us afterwards, I mentioned a squeaky spot that I wasn't sure if was normal or not, and she didn't hesitate to send people to look and make sure. They are coming tomorrow. It's so nice to know that they truly care and make sure it's done right. Another great experience. We highly recommend this place and love our new floors! read more

2 years ago we had carpet, kitchen floor and countertops installed in our San Francisco home. We were very pleased will the work and the installers. Last month I had carpet installed in my Mom's Foster City condo. The installers were friendly and did GREAT job. Recently we ordered 2 area rugs/padding for our San Francisco home. Because of the positive interaction with the San Francisco (Geary Blvd) staff and installers I would use them again and highly recommend The Floor Store. We feel we got a great value for our purchases as some were sale prices. read more

My overall experience with the Floor Store was very solid. I worked with TJ, who was very friendly and responsive throughout the process. I came in with an idea in mind for what I wanted for new flooring in our kitchen and bathroom, and he helped me fine-tune my ideas and pick out the right materials. Once the order was placed it arrived in about a week and a half. I worked with Try Tiles to get the flooring installed, and they commented on the quality of the materials. Ordering the materials and getting it installed only took about 2 weeks. Would recommend! read more

We had wall-to-wall carpet installed on our staircase along with a custom runner in our hallway. We had a great experience working with Shanna and the rest of the team. Everyone we interacted with was courteous and professional. Rose also helped with the final design. Juan Carlos and the installers were GREAT and delivered exceptional service. After spending 2 hours with a salesperson, ordering rugs and paying for them, I was informed a week later that both carpets I selected were no longer available. I would hope that the store would be fully aware of available products for their clients. It was a complete waste of time for me which actually turned out better for me- I found more beautiful rugs at another store! read more

As a first time home owner, I struggled with choosing what material to replace my bedroom's old carpet. The manufacturer of the engineered wood used for the rest of the apartment no longer made the color I could use to match so Rodney helped me hunt down my next best option. He patiently sent me 20+ samples and explained the process to me. He also advised me on how to navigate HOA's requirements. I could tell he's been doing this for a while and is familiar with different types of homes in the city. After months of back and forth on my part, I decided to go with carpet and Rodney was very patient in helping me pick one. I worked with their in-house installer, and really like the result. Vincente did the job all by himself and took only 2.5 hours. it was impressive watching him work. He said he's worked as a carpet installer all his life, more than 30 years. I could tell because he cut with confidence and reassured me that this was an easy and fast job along the way! I highly recommend working with Rodney and his team. read more

We bought flooring from the floor store. It has been a nightmare they never laid our floor per their contract. Men came once and had to call their supervisor They just left and never came back . The tile that was covered with two layers Of flooring over it tested with 2% of asbestos They would not lay our floor. I've never had worse service from any business. Rodney Haynes was our sales Person. He was less than useless read more

I wanted to replace my carpet with vinyl floors and had no idea where to start. TJ greeted me when I walked in and I honestly told him I had no idea what questions to ask or where to start. He put me at ease, asked me basic questions about what I wanted and started showing me floor samples in various price points. The store had lots of examples laid out so I could see what various kinds looked like in a large area. TJ was patient, informative, friendly and no pressure. I was emailed an estimate of the total cost for my project within a couple hours of leaving and when I decided to buy it was a smooth process. I highly recommend The Floor Store for service, selection and price. read more

reviews 4 days ago New My husband and I have been working with Dakota Flick, Sales and Design consultant at the store. He has been helping us with a design of our new family room/ gym/ sauna area. I have never met a more professional, patient, and helpful Sales person. He provided us with many great recommendations, assured that we had the right carpets, vinyl, laminated floors. He gave us samples to see what would work best at our home, He has never rushed us and we have always felt well taken care of with him. We purchased $13,000 of supposedly premium hardwood floors here and in less than a year they were significantly discolored. The store and corporate employees offered no help or compensation to fix this. Do not purchase anything from this store, they are hostile and will pretend you don't exist as soon as the check clears. read more

It took months to get tile flooring product (after being told when we ordered that it would take one month to get delivery) and the installation was a disaster! They arrived after the scheduled window, they did not clean up after their installation (a simple vacuum and wipe down should be expected) They under-estimated the amount of tile needed and now 3 months later we are still awaiting final installation of just a few pieces. It's been a headache and a hassle to say the least. And not once were we offered a discount or price reduction for the wasted time we spent on their poor installation. read more

I rarely write reviews, but thought that it was appropriate given the stellar service we received from Shanna and her team. We purchased SPC flooring for our kitchen remodel through Shanna and the whole experience was easy and seamless. Unfortunately, one of the boxes arrived with the tongue and grooves on one whole corner crushed. She was not working the day of the pickup, but one of her team members jumped in to put me at ease that a replacement would be ordered asap. There was great communication through the whole process to keep us up to date. Fast forward to today, Shanna came by to drop off the replacement box in San Bruno. We have 3 small kids and scheduling a sitter to do a run to the city is tough. She went above and beyond in terms of service and follow through. Everyone that my wife and I spoke to at this location was amazing. From the warehouse person, to the people answering the phones. They know their customer service. We will definitely be coming back to purchase tile and countertops through Shanna and her team! read more

We had a challenging design issue at the heart of our recent kitchen reno--namely, finding new engineered wood planks that match the old softwood floor in the rest of our flat. (Replacing the whole floor wasn't an option.) Even though it was a small job, TJ embraced the challenge with gusto. He looked at pictures of our existing floor, showed us tons of options over email and in person, and ultimately matched the price on a product from a different store when we couldn't stand to buy it there because we liked him so much. The Floor Store is great, and TJ is amazing: patient, enthusiastic, communicative, generous with his time, and organized, with a great eye for design. 10/5 all around! read more
