The next day after hardwood floor repair.
Patrick V.

Professional, efficient, and friendly. I contacted Bay Floor Crafters for my damaged hardwood floors, and texted them a picture of the damage. Nam responded immediately, provided a quote for the work, and suggested termite treatment before fixing the damage. I contacted Nam again after the termite treatment, and scheduled the job. He and his coworker arrived, replaced the damaged hardwood floor with the same red oak wood, and matched the hardwood floor stain. I am very satisfied with the outcome, and I highly recommend Nam and Bay Floor Crafters for hardwood floor repairs.

Fully refinished floors
Nicole A.

Nam and his team we're fantastic they were super professional and gave us very competitive quotes for the work. They fully sanded and refinished floors in one unit and buffed the floors in another unit. I really appreciated nam's honesty about only needing to buff the floors in the unit when he could have easily up charged us for the full refinishing. The floors came out amazing and he was super responsive the entire time when we had any questions or when we had issues. Would highly recommend Nam and his team and will definitely be using them again for any work we need in the future!

Highly recommend Nam for your flooring project. He was responsive through the whole process and personally made sure everything was done right to final touch up at the end. He works with Vellichor engineered hardwood (we chose the Degas finish) which we found to be a great value for a 4mm veneer. His team also refinished our existing oak stairs, installed a much nicer banister and stained both to match the flooring.

Before. Handyman used his own tools. The work is OK but we would need a T molding to cover the transition.

Nam is a craftsman. His work lives up to his reputation. The job was a small hardwood floor repair job to cover some concrete that became exposed when we moved non-loadbearing walls for a remodel. Our handyman tried his best to patch it but it did not come out very well. The transition between the hardwood and carpet would require a T-molding which are not present anywhere else in our condo. We had just finished a very long and expensive remodel and this last piece bothered us. So we decided to try a floor expert. When we spoke with Nam, he knew what he had to do and explained it well, using text and pictures. We were really happy! Nam used some of the engineered wood we had left over to replace some pieces expertly. The transition he used minimized the seam. Nam and his team also arrived on time, finished ahead of schedule, and cleaned up after they were done. Flawless work, a reasonable price, and professional executio. Not much more to ask for! Attached are before and after images.

Beautiful herringbone and black stained stairs

Nam is such a great guy to work with, he listens well and execute the job the way we want it. He will just make everything works to our taste and liking even though it might be complicated. Our floors are so beautiful and is rhetorical highlight of the house. All my guests are always impressed and the first thing they comment is always the floors. Highly recommend especially nowadays is almost impossible to find any installer who responds in a timely manner, only Nam does!

I selected Nam based on his excellent Yelp reviews, fair quote, and conscientiousness... and I made a great decision. I also was no longer living in the area, so I relied on his photo and text updates to see the work in progress... and had some local friends check in after. The floors look amazing - he got rid of that dated honey color and fixed up worn and blemished areas . I could not be happier. Highly recommend.

New flooring connecting to existing flooring in kitchen

We hired Nam's team to do the oak flooring on the new addition in order to match the existing house. They were professional, efficient, and very pleasant to work with. The flooring turns out quite amazing - see photo of how it compares to the main house. Additionally, my partner got multiple bids, their price is very reasonable, and even though there were similar bids, my partner insisted on hiring Nam's team because he had a good feeling about it. I'd highly recommend them! Thank you!

Great match to our existing floors.

We replaced 20-year-old carpet throughout our entire home with beautiful engineered hardwood--and the result is nothing short of stunning. - David, our project manager, was responsive and guided us every step--scheduling a site walk immediately, explaining the process clearly, and connecting us with their flooring gallery for expert, no-pressure guidance. - Johnny, the on-site lead, was communicative, accommodating, respectful, and always available. His hands-on leadership kept everything on track and on time. - The install crew was punctual, clean, skilled, and completed our entire home in just two weeks--without cutting corners. Transitions, baseboards, and fine details were flawless. - No surprises, no hidden fees--just honest, fair pricing and clear communication. They stood by their word, every step of the way. I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.

No one explained finish options or discussed durability. This was my first time refinishing floors, so I didn't even know I had to ask. Had finish options been explained, I would have chosen and paid for a more protective finish. That conversation never happened. This matters because the floors have since taken on water damage. A single leak ended up ruining a large portion of the kitchen, which made it clear that the finish was not very protective. These are not the hard wood floors you grew up with. This finish is a joke. At first I thought them must have forgotten to add finish. It should be more resilient than this, and water left for longer than 30 seconds damages the floor. When I asked for help matching the small area of new flooring, the company said they couldn't find any and offered no alternatives or solutions. So I have regular wood on some spots just to have a floor. I'm not a perfectionist so they could have at least offered suggestions on close matching floor. It's literally wood in some places, not hard wood. The floors need to be completely redone again. Thousands of dollars wasted

Our job consisted of pulling up rooms of old carpet as well as an old kitchen hardwood floor, and replacing it all with 3/4" engineered wood from a Canadian company called Mirage. Elite's quote for materials and labor was not the most expensive nor the least, but when going through our house, Aleksey thought of questions, spotted issues, AND thought of solutions that no one else had asked about or even noticed. He was also the only one who told us that he could carefully remove our elaborate wooden baseboards without breaking most or all of them. Every other place simply said we would likely need to replace it all. As a result, their pricing was actually lower than anyone else if you take into account the cost we saved by not having to replace one single piece of baseboard. He was meticulous, measuring three times before ordering materials just to make sure he got the numbers right. Installation went smoothly and included work like grinding down areas of our foundation that were not smooth, moisture testing, coating of the slab with a moisture barrier, etc. They also made sure they installed the wood in a manner that will allow the kitchen appliances to be removed without damaging the floor, when the time comes that they need to be replaced. Again, no one else we spoke with even mentioned any of this. There were transitions between floorings of some rooms that were at different heights. For some of the areas, Aleksey did not care for the off the shelf transitions that companies sell. Instead, he and his crew crafted their own transition pieces & thresholds that looked beautiful and did the job. Far more elegant and unintrusive. They did the same for the transitions between stone surrounding fireplaces and one bathroom. Everything was carefully thought through. The guys showed up at 8 AM and sometimes worked until 5 or 6 pm if they were trying to get certain things done. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and cleaned up after themselves. Communication with Aleksey was always good. Elite Hardwood & Flooring is not simply an installation company.
