Ty was the only person who told me that he felt confident they can get a 90% match to the flooring, which was good enough for us because refinishing would have delayed when we can move into the house by. Ty was also kind enough to work over the weekend to help us meet our move-in target date. They came early and finished recarpeting about 2,100 sq ft within 6 hours. Now our floors look like they're new! I also accidentally sent them a double payment without realizing, and Ty called me the next day to let me know and quickly sent me back my money. Communication with Ty was really easy over text/phone. I would recommend his team to anybody and would hire them again.

Glue was used in many places which results in the floor warranty is void. ($10,000+ worth of floor). Our floor brand is CoreTech. And Bentos Flooring blames the floor! The final cost was nearly triple the original quote: The initial quote was $8000, at the end, we paid nearly $20,000 for leveling the subfloor and installing the floor! And subfloor was not leveled! Sweet talks in the beginning, bad services in the end. Lack of genuine understanding of his mistakes and lack of genuine intentions to fix the problem properly! It couldn't be worse.

Short version: Hired Bentos Flooring (owner:…read moreIgor) for subfloor leveling + flooring install. Neither the leveling nor the installation was done correctly, floor ended up uneven and flexing. Igor had to drill into the brand new floor and inject glue to try to fix it, which voided the manufacturer's warranty. Price also ballooned to MORE THAN 2x the original quote. When we asked Igor to fix his own work otherwise we had to file a complaint, he said he'd report other , unrelated to him, work in the house, to San Francisco Building Department !!!unless we resolved things directly with him. Read below for the full details and his exact quotes. --------------------------------------------- We hired Bentos Flooring, owned by Igor, to level the subfloor and install new flooring in our house. Neither the subfloor leveling nor the installation was done correctly, based on what the dealer and manufacturer told us -- and that's what led to the problems that followed: the floor is uneven and flexes up and down in multiple spots. We sent video and photos to the dealer and the flooring manufacturer, and both told us the work was not done properly. We paid a premium price of $5.30/sq ft for the flooring itself. We also ended up paying Igor two times his initial quote. He told us the subfloor needed more work than originally expected, and he raised the price for the flooring installation as well. Unfortunately, we trusted him and paid the full amount. To try to fix the flexing, Igor had to drill into the brand new floor and inject glue underneath to address the installation issues. We contacted the manufacturer, who informed us that if the floor was not installed according to specifications -- and drilling holes into a new floor is definitely not -- the warranty is voided. Igor initially agreed to come fix the remaining issues, but never showed up. While on site, he saw other work happening in the house that had nothing to do with him. When we followed up asking him to fix his own work, he "threatened" us with the following His messages: ----"I intend to contact the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection today to request an inspection of the work completed in the kitchen and bathrooms. The purpose of this inspection is to officially verify the permit status, determine whether the completed work complies with applicable building requirements" ---- "My question is whether you would like all the inspectors to come and document the current condition, or whether you would prefer for us to work together and resolve all the issues directly, without involving additional inspectors." ---- "Please let me know whether you would prefer to resolve these issues directly between ourselves or proceed with all inspections. If I do not receive your response, I will submit the DBI inspection request tomorrow." Summary: Not only he did an unprofessional work he brought up that other, unrelated work in our house and said he'd report it to DBI if we didn't resolve things directly with him. I'll update this review if he really reported us to the San Francisco DBI.

Tom's did the floors in my unit a few weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:…read more Pros: - Communication: Generally very prompt communication. I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.

From the beginning, Harry stood out from the other contractors I contacted. His quote was not the lowest, but after walking through the house with him, I felt confident that he knew exactly what he was doing. He took the time to assess the floors properly, explain the options, and provide honest recommendations rather than trying to upsell unnecessary work. The quality of the work was excellent. The floors look beautiful, and I have not found a single issue with the finished product. What I especially appreciated was Harry's attention to detail and professionalism. He repaired several floorboards, completed a few closets that we had not even specifically discussed, and took care of a couple of additional items he discovered along the way without making a big deal about it. Those small touches showed real pride in his work. The project was completed on a tight timeline before our move-in, but Harry never gave the impression that he was rushing. Instead, he spent the time necessary to do the job correctly and delivered a result that genuinely transformed the floors. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering quality work, I would highly recommend Harry. The experience was smooth from start to finish, and I would not hesitate to hire him again.
