We just finished a home remodel and dealt with about a dozen different types of contractors (painter, plumber, electrician, HVAC, carpenter, carpets, etc). Yuri stood out among all of them due to his quality work, focus on customer satisfaction, communication, and integrity. I wish everyone we had worked with was as reliable and easy to work with as Aprel Flooring. For our flooring, we received 4 or 5 quotes to replace the hardwood floor in our kitchen and attached living room. Aprel was the most competitive in pricing, but the reason I chose them was due to the confidence I felt in their knowledge and expertise, as well as their thorough communication. Aprel gave us the most detailed line-by-line proposal for the job. Other flooring contractors told us we would need to put a 1/4" round trim along circumference of the kitchen island, whereas Yuri felt confident in his ability to tuck the flooring under the island without a visible gap - which he did quite successfully. We were so impressed with how the floors looked, we decided to hire them again a few months later to replace several carpeted areas with hardwood. What blew me away was the focus on quality work and customer satisfaction before, during, and after the job. Aprel also showed extreme care in operating within our home and not doing any damage. I redid all the flooring in my home in 2019 with Aprel Flooring. I chose Yuri and his team because I appreciated their communication and professionalism from the beginning. Unlike the other contractors I got quotes from, Yuri took the time to break down the quote by line item in a written document. This helped me understand the specific costs and how they might change as variables shifted. This was immensely helpful to me when I made adjustments to the design during the project and could re-calculate myself how much it would change the cost. Throughout the project I had many questions, and Yuri always took the time to address them patiently and thoroughly. The two men who installed the floors are impressive, talented craftsmen. I frequently get complements on my inlaid hardwood floors from friends and other contractors. In addition to wanting a walnut feature strip throughout, I had specific design requests (herringbone in one room, diagonally laid planks in another) that they implemented expertly. Throughout the installation, Yuri sent me photos and updates. When they were any hiccups, Yuri was quick to address them. Most of all, I appreciate that even years later (2023!) when I noticed some minor damage I'd created on the floor, I texted Yuri and he offered to stop by to take a closer look. He recommended it would not be worth the cost to fix such a minor issue. I contacted Yuri at April Flooring in June 2023 to remove the wall-to-wall carpet and refinish the 1947 hardwood floors of a Cow Hollow/Marina house. This house has been in the family since 1976, and the floors have never been seen uncarpeted. I used Aprel Flooring a couple of years ago to replace old carpeting as well as some wood flooring in my 2 bd/2ba apartment. Yuri was very responsive and helpful in working with my HOA and fulfilling all of the documentation requirements, as well as materials requirements (cork size underlay) to complete the work. I also had them replace the floorboards since the existing boards were rather worn. Yuri and his team did an amazing job! Flash forward almost two years. I had some furniture hauled away, and the haulers ended up gouging a couple of floorboards. Luckily, I had some extra boards from the initial flooring install. I reached out to Yuri, sent him pictures, and he very quickly gave me an estimate as well as timing for completing the work. I was looking to get some carpet removed and replaced with pre-finished engineered hardwood to try and match my existing hardwood floors. Yuri came out and gave me a detailed quote and estimate, and discussed different options for where I could look at floors. Once I bought the floors, he picked them up and delivered them before I even knew the order was ready, and his crew started working next week. During the job, we hit an unexpected snag with the hydronic radiant heating - the original carpet grippers were nailed into the concrete subfloor with long nails, and in two places these nails went directly into the radiant heating pipes. So, when they were removed, large leaks sprung until we shut off the water into the system. I was able to get a plumber out the next day to make the fix, and let the system run for a day to be sure it was fixed. Yuri and his team not only were able to deal with this setback (they effectively lost 2 out of 4 workdays), but they also patched the concrete which had to be opened up in order to make the plumbing repair without any extra charge. I'm very happy with the result of the installation, and impressed with Yuri's honesty and professionalism. He helped me along every step of the way, met his estimate and work timeline, and even helped return extra hardwood we had after the job since his crew didn't waste any. read more

We are in the process of deciding what to do with the flooring in our new home. We have not hired anyone yet. So why am I giving Aprel a 5 star review already? Because of their high integrity, honesty, and helpfulness. Yuri came out and saw my property. He was open and honest about my options. He did not try to hard sell me to hire him, but gave me options. He even suggested a second vendor who he says is great to get another price quote and assessment, and then compare. I asked him 8 questions across 3 emails and he gave me detailed and very helpful replies. I got quotes from 4 flooring contractors to replace the hardwood floors in about 800 sqft in our basement. Yuri from Aprel Flooring gave a quote that was in line with 3/4 of the quotes and did a great job. Yuri had by far the best communication of all 3 contractors, and ended up doing a great job. Once the job started, we noticed a lot of knots with the floorboards we bought and the team worked with us to reserve some of the more knotty boards to less visible areas. The floorboards are really tightly packed with no noticeable gaps. The job was very thorough and detailed. I had gotten many quotes before deciding...I must say I made a great choice. Yuri and team (David and Delfino) were phenomenal. They were on time and ALWAYS cleaned up at the end of the day (vacuumed daily). They hermetically sealed off the closets and bathroom with plastic and blue tape, protecting the exposed areas from dust. So things always go wrong for me. I've never done any project that just went smoothly... so with that, I fully expected Yuri and David to cause or find some problem like maybe finding an Indian burial ground between the primer and finish coat. But... Everything went great! Very reasonable quote, showed up on time, helped me disassemble and move a refrigerator with no grumbling, and David (who did most of the work) went out of his way to do a great job - even replacing a few boards that maybe could have stayed. I've used Aprel Flooring for three projects in the past nine months: installation of hardwood flooring across four rooms, baseboards throughout our 3000 square foot home, and replacement of a whirlpool bathtub and creation of a custom tub enclosure.
