I used to get a discounted rate for not getting polish on because I don't like to use those chemicals. This time they me the regular rate and the woman didn't even soak my hands in warm water or the warm gloves. She just dove right in pushing cuticles back that hadn't been softened and it's a crap job. As a result, I have cuticles that were not attended to properly. She spoke no English so I couldn't tell her anything. Last time I go there. Snotty woman at the front argued with me that their website was working and I could've made an appointment. I had attempted to make an appointment several times, which I previously did on other visits however this time the site was not working. The other annoying thing about their website is you have to pick a stylist. I know no names there and it won't let you proceed to booking the appointment unless you pick a stylist.

I want to be fair and start with the positives. Anna did a very nice job on my cuticles, and the manicure itself looked clean and polished. The retention was also solid--the set stayed on for two weeks without lifting. That said, several issues made this a disappointing and ultimately concerning experience. The tips used were too small for my nail beds, which put constant pressure on my nails. They felt tight and uncomfortable the entire time I wore them. When the set was removed, my natural nails were left with deep indentations and noticeable thinning, and they've been tender and painful to the touch. I've been told this can happen when tips are sized too small or when the nail plate is over-filed or stressed, and it's not something I've experienced from professional services before. The most serious problem was that I developed multiple "greenies" (green nail syndrome). This is a bacterial nail infection that causes green discoloration and usually happens when moisture gets trapped between the enhancement and the natural nail, sometimes combined with inadequate prep or sanitation. Regardless of the exact cause, ending up with an infection from a manicure is not acceptable. It required taking the product off, treating the nails, and now I need to let them grow out--which can take months--before considering any enhancements again. Between the pain from the tight tips, the damage visible after removal, and the infection, this service felt unsafe for my natural nails. I'm sharing this so others know to ask for proper tip sizing and to prioritize salons that are meticulous about prep and sanitation to prevent moisture entrapment. I appreciate the parts of the service that were done well, but because of these health and comfort concerns, I wouldn't return.

Me and my friend went here for pedicures today because we have an upcoming gala this Friday and were hopeful that we'd have a good experience and find our new go to place. Overall we left feeling a little tricked and disappointed. We both wanted gel french pedicures and requested a pink base with a coat of glitter. Neither of us received a pink base and we just got the white line for the french and the glitter top coat; no pink base. They never asked how either of us wanted our french tips done and did a much thinner line than what I would've preferred. During the beginning of the service one of the staff held up a sign that said the Milk and Honey pedicure was $64. Upon completion she then changed the price and said it was $93 each. I was taken aback because the sign clearly stated $64. I paid but waited for her to turn the tablet around so I could tip and she seemed shocked as if she didn't expect us to tip when I asked to . It just seemed as if she'd self-adjusted the price in advance to reflect that sentiment . I did not get a receipt, when I reached for the one that printed she said they keep it. So I am still unsure of what made the price $30 more than what was originally stated. She said cash tips only and that I could use the ATM inside. I attempted to twice and it took $20 from my checking account both times but did not dispense any cash??!? So we just left at that point. I am transitioning to being in Buffalo full time and was really hoping to have found my new consistent pedicure spot. Unfortunately both me and my friend were nicked/cut or had our cuticles pushed back slightly too far during the service. But they made conversation and offered water so that was a nice vibe. They saw us quickly upon arriving to our appointments which was very appreciated. They were thorough in the massaging and exfoliating aspect of the pedicure and seemed to take their time with it which we liked. Overall I didn't mind paying the price but I wish they had been more transparent about their pricing so that we didn't feel tricked. For nearly $100 each I would hope the end results would've been more to our liking :/

Manicure with cut cuticle. Several hours after the bleeding stopped

I don't frequently get manicures or pedicures, but this was by far the worst experience I've had doing so. My wedding party and I decided to get manicures and pedicures two days before my wedding and the experience we all had was less than ideal. To start I felt so uncomfortable during me pedicure as the technician repeatedly tried to upsell me the entire time. I tried politely declining but she continued to pressure the situation making the experience less than ideal. Following my pedicure, she brought me over to do my manicure. I understand accidents happen but she deeply cut my cuticle and could not stop the bleeding. I'm not sure what should have been done but if she wasn't either, she should have asked for assistance. Instead she wiped away some of the blood and continued to put a clear coat of polish over it. I now have blood stuck under the polish and a finger that is inflamed and in pain. To make matters worse (for me I guess) is that the affected finger is my ring finger, which will be a huge part of all of my photos. Neither of the services I received were cheap and I will now be removing the polish and blood from my ring finger in the hopes that I can make things look a bit better. Why did I pay for services only to be left worse off? To make matters worse, several other employees acknowledged the cut cuticle and nothing was done to attempt to stop the bleeding other than paper towels and pressure. Nonetheless I'm very upset with the service and outcome; I was better off before the services I received at Luss and would not recommend them for any services.

Be aware, 3% charge on credit cards!! Also, this isn't true, they ONLY accept cash tips (not "prefer").

Based on other reviews, I don't think I'd come here for a manicure (which is not something I do anyway), but I would come back for a pedicure. My friend is a regular and I'm glad that she brought us for our friend's bachelorette party. There are soooo many options for pedicures. It's a little overwhelming and the information given in the book they hand you is really the tip of the iceberg so you have to look on their website. Speaking of books, the nail color books are the GEL colors (and they no longer have the ones in the white book) and the ones on the big ring are the non-gel. This was not obvious or made clear to us until we'd all selected our colors, which turned out to be wrong (since we didn't want gel). Same language barrier as there is at many nail places, but there is someone who acts as a translator of sorts. This made the aforementioned information struggles more difficult as well, though. You do have a drink (alcoholic or not) included with the service! We didn't know that so some of us ended up with bubbly and others didn't. The techs were all super nice and our nails came out great. They will push you to do the $20 upcharge for gel, but won't bring it up again once you refuse. My friend and I both did the Cleopatra and ours were a little different since I didn't do gel and she did (because she was swayed). The bathroom is well-stocked with things you might need and the waiting area is welcoming. I do recommend that you bring cash, as there is a 3% surcharge for credit card usage and you cannot tip on a card. I think a lot of the "negatives" that we had were due to it being our first time, which yes they could do better with, but now that I know I would consider coming back.

Poor paint job, crooked big toe

Went in for a gel French pedicure. Only when it was time to paint, I was told the charge is $30 extra. The pedicures only start around $50, so this came as a shock. French is usually $10 extra. In my opinion, nail services should include gel polishes. More people ask for gel than people that don't. Gel polish shouldn't be a $20 up charge anymore. And with the cost of the pedicure, this is Highway robbery. I settled on a pink instead of the French. The paint job was SLOPPY. This is NOT a $70 pedicure.

This was my first time at Luss. I noticed they were open on a Sunday which was great because many salons aren't. I had an appointment for full set at 1PM but was told to come early to soak off my nails. I arrived at 12:45. The salon seemed clean and bright. I picked out my color and then was sat at the bar/counter at 12:50 where a man filed down my press ons and soaked them in acetone. Because they were press ons, I could have literally just popped them off on my own, but they insisted I soak them. I noticed tech who was supposed to do my nails, Cindy, was still with a client. At 1:20 I finally asked the man who filed my nails how much longer it would be, and he said she was finishing up. I did not sit down at her station until 1:30 (30 mins after my appt time and 45 mins since I had arrived). I wanted a gel full set, almond shape with a French tip. I was told a French tip was $10 extra and almond shape was $5 extra. A bit much for a simple shape, but ok. I did not leave the salon until 3PM (2 hours and 10 mins since the time I was seated at the bar) for a simple full set with gel (so no wait time for them to dry). I was running late for something by the time I was leaving, so I didn't get a chance to really inspect the nails until after I left. Some of them are way too thick. A couple of them were very pointy (more like a stiletto than almond) and I had to file them myself when I got home. I also noticed all the white from my press on nails had caked onto the pads of my fingers and around my cuticles while they were soaking, and she didn't take the time to clean it off. I had to peel off chunks in the car. Shortly after, I received a text from the salon asking to complete their survey, which is where I found a copy of my receipt that showed I was charged $15 for the French instead of $10 like she told me, in addition to the $5 for the almond shape. Total cost before tip was $72 Not once did I receive an apology for the wait time which would've went a long way with me. Or they could've offered to waive one or both of the additional charges because of the wait which would've been a very classy move. The tech was polite and took her time, but that isn't enough to make up for all of the negatives. I definitely will not be returning. Also, heads up, they are cash only on Sundays (they have an ATM).

I tried to call & make an appointment because all the reviews said an appointment is preferred. Unfortunately the call would not connect, so I decided to just show up and be a walk-in. Upon arrival, I signed into a tablet with my name and phone number. There were several others already at the wall of color choosing polishes, so I casually waited until I had room to browse too. I chose my color and sat at the bar to wait. And wait... and wait. I was asked what pedicure I wanted. I was finally taken to a chair and asked again what pedicure I wanted. Fortunately my technician (she never told me her name) asked if I wanted a drink and got right to work. I sipped a nice red wine while I being pampered and reading my kindle. Overall my treatment was around 40 minutes but I guess they include 10 minutes of drying time with the estimated overall time. I'm pleased with the results but would definitely recommend calling ahead for an appointment and going earlier in the day, if possible.

This was my first time here, my friend has been here a lot and she's getting married so we came here for nails. They have a large selection of nail polish to choose from, as I was getting done by Nancy who did and amazing ( I love letting them pick the design!! They have the best ideas) I enjoyed talking with her and watching her make the design. They also offer alcohol beverages and it was nice and relaxing and quiet!!

Luss is incredible! Lindsay the owner always does a phenomenal job doing my nails. I came with this inspiration picture for dip sparkle holiday nails and it is exactly what I was looking for! I've been to a lot of nail salons frequently moving around the country, and this is one of the best I've used.

Waited almost an hour just to walk out with the polish taken off.

My mom and I went in to get dip powder manicures and had scheduled ahead with an appointment. After burning two of my mom's nails removing the polish she already had on, we sat for 40 minutes waiting with acetone and tinfoil on our nails. No one checked in with us the entire time and after waiting almost an hour we left without getting our nails done at all. Worst experience ever!
