lol I can't believe I forgot to update my review! The manicure totally fell apart literally the next day! Haha the gel wasn't cured properly on my nails so there were these like goopy bubbles that peeled and smudged off and it was DISGUSTING. I'll see if I can find pics. I ended up keeping the manicure on almost as a joke because literally this place sucks. Don't go here under any circumstances. You'll get totally messed around and leave with something so poor quality that you'll have to pay to get them redone the next day somewhere else. read more

Hands down the worst nail experience I have ever had. I asked for dip with a design I have received multiple times from another salon. The tech said I would have to do clear dip with color gel over. I let them know previously I was able to do full dip, with just the polka dots as gel. They assured me their way was the best so I let them proceed. (In my experience, gel over dip looks thick and sloppy, which is exactly what I ended up getting). 1. Instead of wrapping your fingers with cotton balls soaked with acetone and foil, you have to keep them in a bowl of acetone. This totally dries out your skin. 2. The girl started to scrape my long, healthy nails with a nail file to remove the old dip. I asked her to stop as she was scraping the top layer of my nails, defeating the purpose of getting dip. She said her way was faster. I let her know I would rather wait and sit in the drying acetone to preserve my healthy nails than get them stripped by her nail file. 3. Another female added tips and shaped my nails. Not only did she try to pass a tip that was only hanging on by the sides (I let her know and when she said it was fine I flicked it off), but every single nail was a different length and the nail beds were uneven. 4. The same woman applied the clear dip. This layer was so uneven and bumpy, even after an attempt to smooth it out, but she assured me it would be totally fixed in a later step. 5. The girl from the first two steps began the gel design. The French part is uneven, the solid color doesn't extend to the sides, the polka dots have air bubbles and streaks, there is clearly painted over fuzz at some layer... by this time I was there for almost FOUR HOURS. I checked one of the nails and noticed the bumpiness from the dip was never smoothed out. The girl said "why didn't you let her know? I can't do anything now bc I've painted over it!" Ummmmmm what? Why did she transfer me without smoothing her work? Why did you paint over it after seeing it was clearly uneven? How is bad work my fault? She then said they were short staffed. How is that an excuse for bad work? Shouldn't you give amazing work when someone is in your chair? 6. By this time Anna (an older tech) agreed the job was terrible and said I could come back any time to get my nails redone. 7. Around this time there was a mom and son who asked when their pedicure would begin. They had been waiting in a pedicure chair with cold water for going on 45 minutes. Another girl with pigtails responded with the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. She raised her voice at the customers and said, "I know you're frustrated but you don't have to be rude!" They we're not rude- they were actually super calm. At this point I knew I would never take Anna up on her offer. Right before this another woman getting a pedicure said that her daughter had lost her patience and left. 8. Pig tail girl them came up to my nail girl and said that my nails looked fine to her. This is after my nail girl AND Anna acknowledged it looked terrible. I tried finding her on Instagram but she wasn't tagged in any of the photos. 9. They let me go with crap all over my skin, which you can see in the photos. There are SO many amazing nail places in the Boulder area. Don't waste your time here! I went here after the quality of my regular salon decreased dramatically. I was so impressed by the environment, employees, and overall experience. This nail salon is very well decorated and maintained--it is very clean and the decor is much better than any other salon I've been to in Boulder. Usually, it's hard to find places that do good acrylic nails. I've been here twice, and each time I had a different nail tech. They were both great, and made consistently were checking in with me to make sure I was satisfied with my nail shape and color. It was $45.00 for an acrylic fill with gel/shellac polish, along with fixing a nail that had broken off. I can't recommend them enough! I want to start off by saying the people who work here are very nice but the services are not executed well. I have come in for manicures twice and both times I go home and end up fixing it. The latest time I went the woman left the nail drill on my hand and it ended up cutting me. She didn't file my nails leaving them all at random uneven lengths. She was picking at parts of my nails that needed to be fixed and ended up leaving them how they were. I don't think I'll end up coming back here because I'm paying for nails that I fix myself. I got my acrylics filled here about two weeks ago and I got a gel design on top of the acrylic. After about two days, the gel began to peel off of the nail from the tips so I had to use my own gel top coat and reapply (I live somewhat far so going back for a fix was not an option). The nails are also fairly uneven with the acrylic being very thick in some places and thinner in others. I've never experienced these issues from other nail places and I think if I had the option to go back I would choose elsewhere. read more

So let me start my saying I've frequented this nail salon more than once and haven't had any issues in the past. But today was enough for me not to come back. When I sat in the pedicure bowl I was asked what type of design I'd like on my nails , I showed her the picture and asked if she knew how to do it, she said her daughter wasn't there but she'd try and it would be just fine. When I relocated to the manicurist station she informed me that she didn't have the gold color for part of the nail art , I asked if there was another gold she could use she said no. So then I found an alternative design, a simplified extended French tip, so she attempted that and it wasn't to my liking twice. So at that point I was upset and ready to leave so I asked her to give me a pink/nude color at least. This is what I walked out with. I understand everyone isn't capable of doing designs but as opposed to leading me to believe that it could happen, I'd prefer the artist just simply say she can't do that and go from there. Went in on a Saturday afternoon for a regular pedicure and there was one other customer getting a pedicure. So I was really surprised I got a rush job where the paint started chipping the next day. Also when I asked the nail person to scrape my callouses (I am a runner) she said I didn't have any and refused. Fastest pedicure I've gotten and my feet look the same as before. read more

I went in for a dip manicure and was there for over 2 hours. There were 3 different people working on my nails, it felt like musical chairs. Left with one nail that was thicker than the others and lop sided. I think this place specializes in designs on acrylic nails as there was 5 girls there getting a design while I was there. I got a gel manicure here on Saturday at 2pm, and by Tuesday morning, they were already pulling back from my nails and chipping. It was a very sloppy job - paint on my skin and cuticles. She was trying to clean up the goopy edges, but it smeared the paint in a couple of spots. I asked if she could clean up the edges on two of my nails, so she CUT away the paint with a cuticle trimmer instead, and I left the salon with bleeding cuticles. Usually, I go to Eagle Nails, but they're always swamped, and I wanted something relaxing. I should have known that only me and two other girls in there on a Saturday afternoon wasn't a good sign.... It was hard to find a good nail salon in the Boulder area... About a year ago I went to Lunar and have gone consistently at least once a month since! Sarah is the best. Each time I know she will do a phenomenal job and have my nails lasting until the next appointment. Sanitation is a big thing for me and I feel super comfortable knowing they do not reuse tools or have you dip your feet in the water without liners. Got a full set with gel polish, during the service I was cut and my cuticles were pushed in way too much & too aggressively. I brushed it off, these things happen sometimes and the bottom line was I wanted my nails done. After leaving the salon I was disappointed, the base of the nails were mishappen, the polish coat wasn't even, and the over texture was not consistent. The next day the nails already felt like they were going to lift and a week and a half later they came off. Overall very disappointed. The shape is okay but the application is terrible as they couldn't do ombré but insisted that she trust the process. I told her twice to cut and prep my cuticles and she acknowledged it and said she would and she didn't. That's bare minimum nail tech prep... damaged my natural nail going fast and half ass with hard deep pressure. Let me leave with still messed up toenail polish after acknowledging it herself after I told her I needed it fixed. Got a full leg waxing made up of over two days and was very disappointed when I got home the second day and patches of hair making up about half my leg were still left all over (after I came in to get everything fixed). There is no passion or dedication to anything that nail tech did unless it's stealing someone's time and discriminating against trans women while taking their money with a smile. I've had my nails done before and this was not it sis. Salons are a place we get excited to feel a little bit better about ourselves and I got home feeling underwhelmed about the the look and overwhelmed with the lack of talent for such a beautiful store. It's funny too how they advertise beautiful works of art but that artist is available 1 day out of the week and they hold their image up with his work. I spent 4 hours in there for a manicure, pedicure and half a leg waxing the first day and they couldn't get it right. I gave them a chance to fix it the next day with an extra service even and they still fell flat. All I could think was "do I have to get like this to feel heard"? and I couldn't bring myself to be so upset in the store so I hope this can at least help someone so they don't have to feel like this. read more
