The duck breast'! This was so good. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Spokane.

I get that times are tough for restaurants, but what I was served for the amount that I paid was absolutely inexcusable. I stopped in to treat myself the other night...The $38 sea bass was at MAX a 4 oz portion, sitting on top of bland pearled barley or something similar, in a bland broth, with a couple of sprigs of watercress. All in a cereal bowl. The $18 ladleful of brussel sprout-bacon bits-slop over the dollop of mashed potatoes was also served in a cereal bowl. The staff are wonderful. But who can justify or be proud of serving food like this while claiming to be a pinnacle of fine dining in Spokane? There is more potential and talent in their kitchen than in many other places, but the food is far from living up to it. It's sad to say, but Luna is not what it once was. The bread and butter are still great, as are the staff. But now I feel obligated to replicate and outclass this dish in my own kitchen, without any formal culinary education or professional experience. The hardest part will be capturing the photo perfectly. read more

Luna is always a great choice for a very nice night out with friends and family. Their food is unmatched and their service is impeccable.

Luna staff made me feel very welcome. I even walked in wearing a Black Lives Matter mask and no one had a public Freak out. The food was top notch. We sat on the patio and it was shaded from the sun. The patio also has heaters. The wait staff is quick and had a very deep understanding of the menu. They also had no problem making custom drinks at our request. This is a must go go restaurant if you are looking for a great environment to take those perfect Instagram photos. read more

How can I give ZERO stars? This shack hasn't ever heard of the saying "The customer is always right" and that's probably fine, cause let's face it, sometimes we aren't. But they sure shouldn't subscribe to a customer service methodology of "ARGUE with the customer!" The hostess decided to argue with us over what we had been told on the phone. She claimed "No one would ever say that." And wouldn't budge. We were happy to walk out. We went to Remedy down the street (MUCH LOWER PRICES and still blew $300 there) I was happy to take my business elsewhere. AVOID this shack if you care anything for the whole experience! read more

Luna offers up delicious meals and cocktails. Possibly the best french fries I've ever had. I wish we had more places like this on the South Hill. My only complaint is there are zero bike racks. Trying to be green and bike around our neighborhood. Showed up to Luna for our reservation and there was no where to safely secure our bikes. read more

tonight while having dinner with my family we were disturbed at what we were hearing from who we think was the head chef towards his cooks. He was cussing and yelling at them telling them all sorts of disrespectful slander and made our first time experience a bad one. For the money we paid for our meal we should not have had to hear such things from a professional Chef. I felt bad for his cooks and crew. Luna has retained its position as a high end place with great ambiance and food. The knock on Luna was that their menu was stale, rarely changed or introduced new fare based on local sources. Also the service can be glacial slow and the food preparation could be wildly erratic, even with an unchanging menu. My impression is that some of these things have been corrected. read more

I selected this restaurant pretty much at random, based on the number of positive Yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. Luna is a wonderful neighborhood gem. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding, and the decor is lovely. I arrived as a party of one, no reservation. Since it was early in the dinner service they were able to seat me immediately. I started with a glass of Columbia Valley Pinot Gris, and they served me a small loaf of homemade ciabatta bread and homemade butter topped with sea salt flakes. I selected the corn and mushroom farro risotto from their seasonal menu. All three items complemented each other nicely. I appreciated that servings sizes were just right. The vegetables tasted very fresh. I followed this up,with a cup of decaf coffee, saving a taste of their dessert menu for another day. If you find yourself in Spokane, do make a reservation here, you won't regret it. read more

Food and drinks are alright here. Kind of expected more for the price, but was a little let down by the server recommendations. Server was great, the bartenders were great as we sat at the bar to wait for a table to open up. The atmosphere is beautiful, but very chaotic with how crammed together our table was with others. We'll probably come back, but it won't be a regular thing as the price was pretty high for just about everything. read more

Been here many times. We went tonight and my husband had the cioppino. What a massive disappointment. Both of us were shocked when it came. Two shrimp a few mussels a tiny little piece of crab in a shell- literally the size of 3 dimes, and the tiniest piece of seabass all in a huge bowl with a big piece of bread. For $48!! We always make sure to go to Luna when we have guests in town. I've never had a bad meal at Luna and the staff is always so friendly. I usually order the crab pasta if it's on the menu or a special they are offering. Their Caesar salad is amazing, but definitely shareable. They also have amazing craft cocktails! Me and my husband visited Luna a few days ago for Saturday brunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great as well. My husband ordered the Luna burger and I ordered the eggs Benedict. Before we received the food we ordered, we got some fresh baked bread with butter. The coffee that I got was great, although it took a very long while to get a refill and never got my creamer, which isn't a huge deal. It's pretty far, from downtown which is its only downside. It takes a while to drive down there and there aren't any other restaurants, attractions or things to do around there. It is in a isolated location which is sometimes inconvenient. But the service and food was great! Will be back! read more

Probably the last time we will go to Luna. We went to celebrate our 31st anniversary of meeting (we also had our wedding brunch there many years ago). My very small portion of sea bass arrived partially uncooked. Had to go back to the kitchen and by the time it returned my husband had almost finished his dinner. For $44, I was sorely disappointed: expected at least a few vegetables on the side, instead of just grits, a minced vegetable sauce, and sprouts. Definitely not a meal. Our shared dessert was comped, which it would have been anyway due to our anniversary, but the $44 remained on the bill, and there also was an inexplicable "service charge," which our waitress said was "for the kitchen." Felt a bit like salt in the wound after what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner that turned into a large disappointment. There are a lot of good restaurants in Spokane that may not have the upscale ambiance of Luna, but feature way better food for a far more reasonable price, and I have never had to send anything back for being uncooked. read more

Perfect place! Our server was so sweet, attentive and accommodating. Their brisket hash was to die for! Definitely a favorite of mine, instead of potatoes I asked to substitute it with asparagus and it was amazing! Their steak and hash was delicious as well with an egg on top definitely took the cake. Their Tanzania chocolate Gateau is as delicious but definitely different style than you'd expect, I think they are going for "French style" cuz gateau translates to cake in French. It's on the dryer side than how in the states most of the pastries we enjoy always have moisture. If you're adventurous and not picky you will still enjoy it. Because it is meant to for you to enjoy with the gelato w/ gives the cake moisture .. so just eat it as it's supposed to be served and not pick at it. Cheers! And their outdoor patio is my favorite patio so far! Definitely request to sit out there if the weather permits. read more

Luna, to Yelp or not to Yelp. To save this secret gem of the city or review and bring massive crowds? The restaurant was very open for late Saturday brunch. The decor and space is literally breathtaking, like your stepping into a French patisserie. We sat at a marble top ample booth. They make everything in house, the bread selection is beautiful. We started with a Bellini and Bloody Mary. We had: the brisket hash- heaping brisket, rosemary potatoes, topped with eggs. Burger which was massive melting with cheese and bacon, veggies, in house mayo and in house pickles. Notably the frites were divine as well. The food was beautifully done, rich developed flavors, and the type of meal you don't leave anything behind. Cannot wait to go back for dinner. I have heard so much about this south hill spot. Was very excited to finally try. Upon entering to your right you see the open kitchen. Copper pans hanging hanging in the kitchen and in the corner the 800 degree pizza oven. The restaurant really has this soft flow to it. You have a choice of sitting in the bar, the patio or inside. Service was a bit slow to start. I'm not really sure who was my waitperson. I was tucked in a corner. But after a bit I received water and bread My server was attentive. Took my order and was off. She was kind and checking up on me. I ordered a mushroom salad that was excellent and scallops that were amazing. Dessert was a berry crumble. I'm not sure I would consider it a crumble. More a berry cookie. All in all it was real Holly cow. My second week staying in spokane and dinner at Luna. Tonight was bomb amazing. They were pretty booked up and full. Only seats in bar and patio. At 100 degrees. So it was bar. Our waiter codi was amazing. A gem. You could tell they were busy with some people transitioning to a sales pitch meeting. Lol like amway in the banquet room but Cody was a star. Last week while there I did the scallops. This week. Filet, with a chard tomato and beef broth. A beet salad with cumin vinergarette. Also a salmon board app. The filet was so frigin tender. The broth was so sexy, herbs, I tasted worchurshire (spelling ugg) just a bomb. The cumin vinergarette on the beets so perfect. So happy to be back in Spokane so I can enjoy Luna's incredible kale salad at home or in the restaurant. I am surprised at the review that accuses this restaurant of being racist, because for the eight years I have been attending this restaurant I have found the owners ,the staff and the personnel to be incredibly welcoming to my friends and guests who represent broad diverse backgrounds. It sounds like an unfortunate mis understanding that began before the meal started. I hope both parties can reconcile. Especially now we need more kindness all around. The food, drinks, and venue are amazing! I have the best meal each time I go, I was recently here for brunch a week ago. Unfortunately the service sucks and has always sucked. I don't know if they teach a class on how to ignore customers or that by being at their restaurant it's some how burden on the server but it's the attitude. Our server was so bad and rolled her eyes at us several times my friend went to talk with the manager who responded "well it's Sunday brunch thats just how it is" like umm okay so on Sundays we are okay to be rude? What hurt the most was it left a very bad taste in our out of town guests that this is how Spokane treats people. read more

Pretty place located more south on the South Hill, near Egger's. We started with some complimentary in house bread and homemade butter. It was some kind of cinnamon swirl and very delicious! I ordered the dungeoness benedict. It sounded so good to me - eggs, muffin, avocado with homemade roasted potatoes. The potatoes were small bite sized pieces with a crunch on the outside. Yum! The eggs were cooked perfectly, but as I was chewing, I found out there were small chunks of onions in it! :( Normally I ask if there are onions in dishes where there might be a variation, but I've never heard of eggs benedict with onions so I didn't ask. I'm deducting stars because it was never listed on the menu. I can only imagine how bad it would be if someone allergic was eating it. I'll come back to Luna again, but not for awhile. read more

The atmosphere of this restaurant is lovely, and the staff was wonderful, but the food was terrible. I had the pepperoni pizza which cost $21. The sauce tasted like it was out of a can of tomato paste. I honestly thought that it tasted like a frozen pizza. I only ate half (because I was hungry) and couldn't box it up to go home. My husband had the burger and he said the beef patty tasted frozen. He remarked that he would have been happier with a burger from a fast food place. We spent a lot of money and left extremely disappointed. We went home to rummage our fridge for something to eat. The bill was very expensive. We decided we will never go back. read more
