Let me start off by saying I love Luna Grill! I cater from them regularly for work and it's one of my husband and my favorite take out places so we were very excited to have one open up right down the street from us. We decided to give it a try tonight and unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with the service. I called in our order for take out. To start, she did leave me on hold for about 5 minutes, but I assumed they were busy as it was prime dinner time. I placed my order and she advised it would be 15-20 minutes, which we understand and expect as we know they make all the food to order. We showed up 20 minutes later, waited in line to pay, so by now it's been about 25-30 minutes since I called in. They had no idea where our order was, the cashier said she'd check on it but then never got back to me. I waited another 5 minutes and in that time several people went up to check on their orders, all of which were told they had several orders in front of them. One lady even canceled her order because she'd been waiting so long. I asked the cashier if she had found it and she advised there were a couple orders ahead. We were now at about 40 minutes from when I called. I continued to wait. Finally she calls my order, now 50 minutes from when I called. She reviews my order and hands me my hummus tray with veggies and there were literally 2 pieces of celery, a small handful of carrots and cucumber slices... not exactly what I'd come to expect from their other locations and for the price so I asked if I could have a few more veggies and she said that's all it comes with. I told her that usually it had a few more veggies and especially after a 50 minute wait I'd really appreciate a full side of veggies. She said she'd get me some more celery... 5 minutes later still no celery so I decided to leave with what I had. In short, I'd definitely skip this location in the future and head to one of the others around that have better service and portions. The food was good and up to par with the other locations, but for such a long wait it would be quicker to drive to the La Costa location. read more

I went to Luna Grill with my dad after a big workout, and we were very pleased with one the big helpings, and two the employees. Nico took our order efficiently and kindly; not to mention he was able to provide a military discount for my father. We were very grateful for that. Angelique brought out our order in a timely fashion with a big smile on her face. She then preceded to come to our table a few times to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Another girl did this as well, but sadly I did not catch her name. Food was delicious as well. We will definitely be coming in more often for good hospitality goes a long way. read more

Since I want to support our local restaurants that are struggling during this pandemic, I ordered takeout from one of my fav places--Luna Grill. I ordered online and picked a specific time to pick up my order. When I've ordered in the past, my food has always been waiting for me. This time, I got there a few minutes early but the food wasn't ready. I was told it would be ready in 2-5 minutes. 30 minutes later after standing around outside with my stupid mask on waiting, my name was called. They didn't even bring it out to me. This review is only for tonight's pick up order. When i arrived, the gal at the pick up register was quite flustered, going back and forth with the kitchen staff about something. I understand she must be new, we all were at some point so waited til there was no one at the order line to ask for my order that was right there and ready. When I got home, there was no dressing on the salad or on the side. And it was the dingiest greek salad, 3 pieces of lettuce, one peppercini, two olives and two very small pieces of cucumber. At least there was some feta. Lentil soup was good as it always is. Will not order online again. Too bad cause I really do like Luna Grill and their reward program. read more

My 2 friends and I had an amazing lunch at Luna Grill in Encinitas. It began with securing a table outside in the balmy weather we are so proud of. The team that took our order, delivered our food, and checked on us were Chelsea, Blake and Benjamin. All were carried out in a friendly, professional manner. I had the Market Wrap with chicken and a a side salad with pomegranate dressing. All were "off the charts" delicious. Portions and quality of the ingredients were excellent. Great dining experience! Definitely recommended. The sweet potato fries are delicious, and the salad that comes with all the signature plates is so fresh, in my opinion it makes the meal. I was helped by Sam and Ameerah. Both were very friendly and helpful (I'm super indecisive). read more

This little place has the best food ! Went with my mother, we had the Grass fed burger with fries and this is the absolute best burger I have ever had and the crispiest fries ever... crispy on the outside, just perfect! Amazing service, the staff helped us out to pick the food we were going to eat, because it was our first time there and Blake helped us out even though he was very busy! He still found time to help us out with his awesome customer service. I had an awesome Lunch here the other day. I have never tried Mediterranean food so I asked the cashier Griffin what he would recommend. I really like Greek and Mediterranean foof and Luna Grill is a healthy option when I need a quick lunch. I usually order the Greek salad or plate meal with gyro meat or chicken. They have great portions and the food is very good. This location is in a shopping center off Encinitas Blvd. that just had a remodel. The service at this location has always been worse than other locations. The two employees behind the registers were speaking loudly and openly about their personal lives while our food was sitting right behind them waiting to be delivered to our table for 10 minutes. The food was cold once delivered and the restaurant was just about empty. If you have a choice, choose the Bressi Ranch location. read more

Was looking forward to my first meal at Luna Grill in Encinitas. Very disappointed in the Lemon Chicken Soup. So little flavor that it tasted like hot water poured over rice and chicken. I just dumped out my large order for $10. Falafel was dry and the sauce was runny and tasteless. The grilled tomato on my combo plate tasted of propane? Perhaps it was grilled with a torch. Good trick for food photography but it ruined the flavor. I'm suggesting the employees try their own soup. This is one customer that will not return. read more

the only reason i will continue to come here is Chelseay. she has truly amazing customer service. She has such a wonderful cheerful attitude, with such a desire to help every customer with no grimace. I have been extremely needy as a customer some days, but she never complains or never shows that shes irritated if she is. Shes always putting a personal touch to her work, remembering that my family and i went on vacation and ask how it was, or how our kids are. Shes truly just a blessing to be around. I ate lunch there on December 22 - my first time at any Luna Grill. First, in fairness to the restaurant, after I spoke to the manager and complained about my salad, he refunded the price. My criticism concerned the apple walnut salad that promised "organic spring mix, slices of fresh seasonal apple, crumbled gorgonzola, candied walnuts, dried cranberries" and a "pomegranate vinaigrette" dressing. I found that there was more than enough spring mix, but not much else. There couldn't have been more than 3 or 4 very thin slices that couldn't have been more than one quarter of a small apple sliced in it. There was not one candied walnut or a dried cranberry in the salad, the cheese was feta, not gorgonzola, and the dressing was tasteless and perhaps only oil. There was little evidence of any vinegar. read more

Having visited other LUNA grill locations we have agreed that the Encinitas location is lagging and needs help with management if they want to survive at that location.
