Update: I originally gave 3 stars but am adjusting to 1 star because I didn't even get salad dressing, disappointing service and fulfillment... Called in for a Beet Bowl, wanted to add chicken, lady on the phone said the total was going to be $14. That seemed high so I asked how much it would be to add Falafel, she said $3something. I was discouraged because it sounded like more than I'd paid in the past. I settled on the plain better beet bowl and when I came in to pick up there was a huge sign right in front of me that said adding chicken/falafel was $1. She said it would take 5 min to add chicken and I didn't have time for that. Frustrated that employees don't know menu and I didn't end up getting what I wanted... foods always good so that's why I'm giving 3 stars. read more

I frequent this shopping center as I visit the Postal Depot next door daily and have been watching and waiting for Luna Grill to open for a long time. I know this center delayed their opening and lost a few of the potential stores, so I'm glad Luna Grill still opened this location. I think this location is much nicer than the Carlsbad location and the employees are incredibly nice. Whoever the hiring manager was at this location did a great job. I still think the Luna Chandeliers are weird with all the silverware hanging from them. They must have to take all the silverware down and run it through the dishwasher regularly. They opened a week or so ago and I visited this past Monday with some family from out of town. I'm gluten intolerant and I asked what GF items they have and to my surprise, both the employees at the counter were extremely helpful. If they are new to Luna Grill, you would never know it. They knew everything about the menu. So helpful and recommended the Cornish Hens, and it was amazing. The flavor was fantastic, and since I was really hungry I was concerned it might not be enough, but it certainly was. My brother-in-law had the stuffed grape leaves which he said were very good, we also tried the beet salad, which got rave reviews from our group. My son had the kids Gyro plate and he actually liked it (he's very picky). There was plenty of food, the salads were good and the dressing was nice and light. Since I don't like my greens swimming in oil and liquid I usually request dressing on the side but I forgot and it was actually perfect. I'm a fan, and I'm sure I'll be in frequently considering I'm in that center almost daily. read more

Love Luna Grill! Their food is super fresh and always tastes amazing. We usually get the food to go, and it stays amazing even 15mins later. I always get the mahi signature plate. The fish is always cooked perfectly. The lamb plate is also delicious. Tender lamb with perfect seasoning. The hummus is also super yummy! We usually ask for modifications on the plate and are never questioned and it always comes out perfect. This new Encinitas location is great! Definitely a little smaller than the Carlsbad location, but more cozy. Great decor and very clean. Staff is amazing! While waiting for our meals to go, I realized I ordered the wrong thing. The manager was great and switched it out immediately and timed it out so that our food still came out together and in a timely manner despite my mistake. Most Luna Grills are organized and well run. The one in Encinitas is not. I don't have enough space to list all of my comments, but suffice it to say this one is beyond slow. I cannot figure out how they can be so incompetent. The food is never ready when it's supposed to be. If they know you're waiting, they don't bother to call your name when the food is ready, but rather, just set it out. If they're out of something, they don't bother to tell you that, it's simply not provided. read more

Don't waste your money on this place when there are several other locally owned Greek and Mediterranean style restaurants within a mile or two of this place. The food here is just not good. Went in after work around 8:30pm looking for a quick dinner and it felt as if the staff was rushing me out the door. Unfortunately every restaurant in North County closes at 9 PM and if you get off of work late like I do you have no options except for taco shops. On top of that, the Gyro meat was cold and chewy. So tired of all these crappy chain restaurants popping up locally with mediocre food and a crappy end product. read more

First, let me say it is pretty good food. Beef and chicken are of good quality. However, for the prices, I think it's not a good value. Portions are pretty small. Also, some things we thought odd; we ordered a 'gourmet' apple walnut salad with cranberries, there were 5 cranberries in there. It's hard to say where the line is exactly on garnishes like that, but it's probably a double digit number. And, despite photos to the contrary, on the rice - there is no saffron. I've come here in the past and ordered the same thing each time - a Greek salad with chicken, which has always been a decent portion of warm chicken kebab meat. Today I ordered a Greek salad with chicken and received 1-2 oz of cold chopped chicken. For $13.50 it was over priced and not what I was expecting.
