Came here for lunch on a Saturday at about noon in June. We had a 12:30 reservation but they were able to seat us on the deck early anyway. The place is tiny and pretty cramped so I'd recommend reservations no matter what time you plan to arrive. You could eat "on the deck" even in bad weather since you enclosed on 3 sides. (If you really want an outdoors experience I recommend Sam's. No reservations though.) The menu was creative and the food that both my wife and I had was wonderful and well plated. The drinks were generous pours. I marked them down a star only because we were so cramped and I thought it was a bit pricey. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Just ate dinner here tonight... we got 2 Caesar salads which were lightly dressed unappetizing pieces of romaine lettuce. Not the worst salad, but definitely not the best. I chose to have the raviolis, which were pretty good. I was happy but not over excited about anything. This is the first 4.5 star rated yelp restaurant I went to that I was confused why it had such high ratings. It wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't knock my socks off. We went to Luna cafe after 2 hours hike in Angel Island. We got an outside table after waiting for 15mins. View from the patio was great. Ordered couple of drinks - I was not impressed , felt they were too strong. However, the food was great. We ordered fried calamari to share and I ordered sausage ravioli. Both very great! My girlfriend and I had dinner at Luna Blu after spending the day at Angel Island. We were seated right away although more towards the inside of the restaurant. There is seating that is more towards the water that would have provided better scenery but that section was already full. I ordered the Sunset in Tiburon cocktail that actually tasted like medicine. My girlfriend picked mango italian soda as her drink and it was good. We decided to have tuna tartare as the appetizer. It was very delicious. Before we got our appetizer, we were given some sourdough bread and olive oil. My girlfriend decided to have Cioppino since she wanted a seafood dish which ended up being a good decision. I ordered the gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce that was very delicious as well. The food was great as well as the service. My mom and I shared 2 appetizer and pasta for lunch after walking Blackie's postures. Meatballs had cheese melted on top and was so good. Kale salad was refreshing with light dressing. The pasta is best I had in this year. I had Dungeness crab pasta. Pasta was homemade and the sauce was creamy but not heavy $23. Had a lot of crab meat too. Only minus is that we found dog poop on the floor of outside seating area. We were one of the first customer there that day, meaning they didn't clean the floors before they open. If you can snag a seat in their outdoor patio, that would be ideal. They provide blankets and heat lamps for when it gets chilly but your food definitely tastes better when there is a beautiful view, whether it be your dining partners or the cityscape. As for the food - best cioppino I've ever had and I'm always chasing a good cioppino! I've been here before and thought it was good but I went back yesterday and thought it was amazing! I had the sweet potato gnocchi and it is the best gnocchi I've ever had. It came in a cream sauce with crispy maitake mushrooms and chesnuts, which is such a unique and delicious take on gnocchi. I think it comes with some meat but you can get it without it to make it vegetarian, which I did. We also got the beet taglioni with crab which we all agreed was the best entree. We also ordered a burrata with truffle thinking it'd be like a basic bruschetta type situation but it was not. It was so delicious and was presented in such a nice way. I think the burrata is baked into the bread? Idk, but it was delicious. Also, we were worried because we wanted to dine outdoors and it was cold when we went, the temperature was in the 40s, but each table had its own heater and we were really comfortable. Moved a bunch of tables around for us to make us comfortable. Prices are reflective of the food quality, atmosphere, and upscale neighborhood. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. Sat on the beautiful outdoor patio, such a lovely little oasis with an awesome view of the boats. I had the prawn and tomato salad, which was delicious. Very fresh, great cook on the shrimp and perfectly ripe produce. Only issue was how expensive it was. My salad was a whopping $24, for a few prawns and some tomatoes. What a pleasurable dining experience. A staff (both front of the house and back) that clearly cared, outstanding food and libations, a stunning deck that offers ridiculous views of the marina with the city as a backdrop...you really cannot go wrong here. The husband and wife team (he in the back, she in the front) knock it out of the park on food quality, pacing of the meal, wine pairings and more. We had the linguine alle vongole, the pesto gnocchi, and the cioppino for the main courses, a light and delicately seasoned calamari and traditional Caesar for starters, and a superb Brussels sprouts and pancetta as a side, with the profiteroles for dessert. All were superb. It's a fairly limited menu, but that's okay. No overreach. They know what they know, they do what they do, and that's just as it should be. [You want a 16 page menu, go to Cheesecake Factory!] I hate reviews that are 100% positive because they feel ersatz, so I'll simply say that the burrata and truffle cream (burrata al tartufo) needed less starch for the "perfect combination" (for me at least) of taste and texture. As is evident, I'm reaching on the "criticism." If we lived in Tiburon, we'd be here once a week (and it was clear most of the folks there were regulars). My wife and I went to Luna Blu to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed at all!! Great vegetarian options!! We got the Capotana for appetizers and it was delicious and full of flavor. The gnocchi and ravioli were great as well (they WILL fill you up!!). I came here on a Saturday afternoon, with a reservation, but I don't think it was necessary as the place was sparsely filled. What I don't understand is for a place that was relatively empty, why the service was ridiculously slow... It took around 45 minutes to receive our food. I ordered one of the specials which was pasta with shrimp and chanterelle mushrooms. The food itself was pretty good, and the portions were not the biggest, but enough for lunch. I wish I could say it was worth the wait but it really wasn't especially because I was able to finish my dish in like 10 minutes. It is nice however that their outdoor seating is right on the water. But the view isn't the best as it is slightly blocked by another resturaunt down the street, and there were some kayakers right in the water near us. Overall, I don't think I would be back for another visit when there are other options in the area. read more

4+ stars mainly for the patio views and lovely interior ambiance, 3.5 stars for the food quality and value, and 4 for the service. The restaurant location in Tiburon is beautiful, and brings back fond memories of decades past when an iconic Swedish Bakery occupied this space. For appetizers, we tried the Calamari ($15) and a special Ricotta Stuffed Flatbread with Honeycomb ($18). The Calamari was nicely done, but the marinara sauce could have used a little more heat to be classified as "spicy". Also, a bit on the small side for the price. The Ricotta Flatbread was also not substantial for the price, and could have used more ricotta stuffing. My uncle ordered the Cioppino, which was very good...decent serving of fish, clams, mussels, calamari, and pawns in a light tomato garlic broth and a slice of garlic bread -- probably the best entree choice for those looking for fresh seafood. My mother ordered the Crab Bisque special (which was good) and the Weekly Special Chilean Sea Bass...but instead the server messed up and brought her the Branzino (Mediterranean Sea Bass) which was just ok, but my mother really prefers Chilean Sea Bass. I ordered the Seared Salmon Salad over the Arugula and Hearts of Palm Salad. The salad was decent, but the salmon was cooked through rather than seared. At the server's recommendation, my spouse ordered the Panino Con Granchio (Dungeness crab), but he was sorely disappointed with the scant scoops of actual crab meat in the panino...mostly bread with a small slather of crab meat covering less than a third of the sandwich face -- he didn't think it was worth $20. He asked the server if that's how it was supposed to be, and the server said it was what chef intended...so he sent it back in exchange for the Luna (Kobe) Burger which was a much more substantial protein balanced meal for $17. The burger was flavorful and juicy. To finish the meal, we shared a Tiramisu which was good. Overall, we spent over $200 on lunch (before tip) for 5 adults with no alcohol. read more

They have a full bar, and an All Day menu as well as brunch menu consisting of omelets, etc. I had a spicy bloody Mary which was excellent, and wife had iced tea. As usual, we ordered the crab bisque which is uniquely creamy and delicious and fried calamari & zucchini, which was, as usual, crisp outside and succulent inside, with outstanding marinara sauce. Wife had the wild king salmon salad which was very good but a bit overcooked (we failed to request medium rare), and I had the Filetto Al Gorgonzola: Pan seared 8oz fillet mignon topped with a Dolce Latte cream sauce (served on toasted bread), specifically ordered rare, which was as usual the best steak I have the privilege of tasting. Simply outstanding sauce and meat. As we were celebrating wife's birthday, the server indicated we could have a free dessert, but being too full, had two cannoli wrapped up. Honestly, the food / quantity is a 4 stars. The crab taglioni were great and my mother was very happy with her risotto. It's not fine but it's good Italian food. The patio is adorable. Why 2 stars then, huh? We were sitting next to the kitchen and I had the chance to see that some food (raviolis it seemed like) fell on the floor. It fell on the carpet where everyone walks to go to the kitchen or the toilets (even more disgusting).
