The pedicure itself is wonderful...you're treated to pumpkin salts, pumpkin scrub, pumpkin masque, pumpkin puree, and cinnamon oil while inhaling the warm scent of a cinnamon candle. It's a multi-sensory experience that succeeds in melting away stress and tension. My technician, Helena, was gentle, precise, and attentive. I really liked how all of the technicians were mindful of maintaining a relaxing environment. There was no excessive chit chat going on, something that could easily spoil the vibe when you're trying to relax. One recommendation I have for the salon, however, is to perhaps play more mellow music (instrumental or soft jazz) to add to the mellow vibe. The music was a bit too energetic for me! Maybe that's my fault since I'm middle-aged, lol. I liked the selection of colors; I chose a bright orange to complement the pumpkin theme. I walked away from this experience a very happy woman. I haven't treated myself to a pampering experience in quite a long time, and this is exactly what I needed. Oh, and I loved the complimentary drink. You're offered a drink menu which includes sodas, coffee, tea, juices, even champagne or a mimosa! I had a Vietnamese coffee and it was delicious. I was even offered a 2nd serving. I got there about an hour before closing with an appointment, so maybe that contributed to the service feeling rushed. I chose the second-tier pedicure because I specifically wanted callus removal, but it honestly did not feel worth the upgrade. The technician barely applied any callus-softening cream before she started scraping, and the callus removal itself was very minimal. My feet were still noticeably rough afterward. She also applied the scrub, but only rubbed my shins a few times before rinsing it off, so that part of the service felt rushed as well. For my manicure, the guy at the front recommended polygel when I originally only wanted a basic gel manicure. He specifically told me it would help make my nails look more even, which was the main reason I agreed to the upgrade. However, the technician did not seem to be trying to even out my nails, and I actually had to point it out to her and ask her to fix them. The application was also very messy and thick, with product getting all over my fingertips. She eventually needed assistance from another technician to finish the service, which made me feel like she may not have been very comfortable working with the product. What concerned me most was seeing her scrape leftover gel/product from my fingers and put it back into the container. That did not seem sanitary to me. I know this salon has a lot of positive reviews, so maybe I came on an off day, but my experience did not match what I expected. Both services felt rushed, the manicure was messy, and overall I did not feel that the upgrades were worth what I paid. read more
