I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. I called a day in advance and made an appointment, yet I was not helped until about 35 minutes after my scheduled time. As a result, my visit lasted nearly three hours. The technician began assisting her next appointment before finishing my nails, which caused further delays. Unfortunately, this was not the first time this has happened. In addition, the nail polish used on my nails appeared old and thick, resulting in a clumpy and unattractive finish. When I mentioned this, the technician continued applying additional coats instead of correcting the issue, which only made my nails look thicker and worse. I also brought my concerns to the owner or manager, but there was no effort made to address or resolve the situation. Overall, the service and quality did not meet my expectations. This place is under new ownership and everything was remodeled and it is so nice and clean. They also now do gel builder, dips and gel. X and a new nail polish Zen that is good for your nails. They are modernized and you are able to get different styles if you bring a picture. This is the only nail salon I've gone to for at least the last year and I can't see myself going anywhere else! I've had moments where it was seriously more convenient to pick a different place, but I just don't have the confidence in other nail people that I do in Kim and Danny. Kim is the SWEETEST woman there is. She does my pedicure every time and she is by FAR the best person I've ever gotten a pedicure from! She takes her time, has never ONCE cut or yanked on my skin, and always diligently cleans under my nails. I'm really picky with wanting my pedicure to feel very clean so I appreciate the extra time she puts in to make sure that my nails are clean from any dead skin! Danny is also the sweetest. He cares about how your nails come out. He's patient, never fussy, and always listens to exactly what I want. The good thing was they took me in 30 min right after I called for a last minute appt. $20 for gel manicure and $15 for spa pedicure!! Umm hell yes!! That's so cheap!! So I decided to book with Amy and Tom for my sis and I after all the good yelp reviews. It was a bit hard to find this place. Easily overlooked. Amy did a good job taking her time and doing the sides on my gel mani. The lady doing my pedi was good too she took her time. Only thing I would've like more is her using more force on callus scrub and massage. What can I say I like it hard lol. They even have hot towels to wipe off the lotion. I normally have another place I go to and decided to try it here since my original lady was busy and I needed to get them done ASAP. Very limited selection of colors to choose from, colors are not even that pretty.. i went in to a regular pedicure and gel manicure. Told the lady that attended me to take off all the dead skin I had, besides the fact she cut me and made my big toe bleed, she didn't do a good job. Went on Friday was hoping for a nice relaxing time but felt rushed.. The lady that did my pedicure was good but one of my nails got messed up as they sent me to a seat with fresh polish still on to start my fill.. the lady that did my fill is the reason it only gets a 3..she rushed through my fill, was not friendly and made no eye contact she was too busy rushing through my nails to get to the next person. She looked annoyed she had to do my nails as tom was supposed to but for some reason they switched. they have a bunch of pedicure ladies but hardly any nail people so its hit or miss. If you love and deserve a good pampering this is your nail place. I love how I am treated every time I am here. I get the mani and pedi every time. I love that they actually focus on cuticle care. I see some women walking around with flashy nails but their cuticles are hideous! Here, they actually take the time to cut away the bad cuticle and scrub the dead skin away. I moved away from Montebello and I tried looking for another place and it is just not the same. The prices are ridiculously reasonable. Mediocre service. So I went in for a full set and a pedi. I talked to the guy in charge who gave me an estimate of $18/19 for the full set and $15 for a pedi. They seated me quickly in a comfy spa chair and two employees walked over to service me. The pedicure was poor. I asked for rounded nails and they gave me square, she half-assed cleaned them, and did only one coat of polish before putting on the clear coat. They also don't really sanitize their tools!!! They just cleaned them with water and the towel they use for your feet; I've had less expensive pedis with better quality/service. The sides have no polish and the color is a bit opaque. My manicure was not anything better. I have tiny cuts around my nails that I didn't notice until I washed my hands because get this they only have you rinse your hands in the pedicure station of your chair. They ended up charging me $25 because they 'rounded' them out which they had originally told me was $19 before. They did nothing to my cuticles nor did they apply lotion just the basic acrylic application and color, my hands were so dry afterwards because of the powder. I would not recommend this place to a friend. The end product looks fine but like I said my cuticles hurt and I have cuts on three fingers. Not worth it in my opinion. read more
