I've been wanting this look for so long but as I yelped I'd always find that questionable bad review and never really went to anyone. Until finally I went back to my favorite spot. Omg you guys tell me I didn't leave feeling like a Montebello Baddie! Just the prettiest nails I've ever had honestly!. Service is great! Appointments are always the best way to show up in the nail spa! Quality is just perfect! The vibe is always relaxing staff is respectful. Look at these beauty's!
My mom contracted a SEVERE toe infection after visiting this salon in May. When I contacted Liz, the owner, in June, she denied any record of my mom's visit, claiming she checked the cameras and my mom wasn't there, which is a lie. Despite providing clear evidence, Liz refused to take responsibility, claiming I reported the issue too late and asked me to sign a liability waiver to get my $35 refund. They showed no empathy and denied my request for a refund because I refused to sign. I refused because the $35 doesn't even cover the cost of medication or doctor's visits. It's also not some sort of favor it's the least after giving her an infection. Despite providing all necessary proof, including showing them my mother's condition, they still refused to help. This incident raises serious safety concerns about this establishment. I strongly advise against visiting this salon due to their negligence, lack of accountability, disregard for customer health, and uncleanliness.

Been coming to Liz for years and came more consistently after Covid. I love how she shapes! And also has good color suggestions when I show her my inspiration pic. She is really good at doing my natural short nails & shaping them differently when they grown long enough. Liz is nice & gentle & does awesome work! I always love my nails when she is done, the pedicures are great here too!
So when I was finding a place to do my nails I did think this place was a bit questionable with 5 full stars mostly written by people who had less than 5 reviews... But, for $15 for a pedicure, I thought sure, why not give it a try.....Now I know why. Actual pedicure itself was below average. I had red nail polish on my skin around my toenails which made it look like I was bleeding. They also did not much else for calling it a "spa" pedicure. My heels felt pretty neglected. 2 out of 5 However, I gave them a 1 because they are D-I-R-T-Y. Also more reason to question the other reviews because this was the most UNHYGIENIC nail salon I've ever been to. Tools are not sterilized (just wiped off with the same towel your feet were just on), there's toenails all over the rug and floor, and there's ONE beat up massage chair that you can't even turn on because it's disgusting, with a dirty stained blue pillow on it. I saw THREE people sit on that chair total and it was not turned on ONCE. The WORST part was she clipped my skin while doing my toes, which is no biggie in a salon where the tools are sterilized, but after she was finished with me, she wiped the tools with the same towel my feet were on and then just tossed them back in the plastic bin... and a few minutes later, out they came for the next victim!
Terrible nails. I went in to get a manicure with acrylic nails and picked out a nude color. Liz told me the color was too nude and suggested I do a nude ombré. She then brought powders and began layering my nail with a pink tone. I asked her if she was going to paint over it, and she said "no, this is the color". I let her know that the color was pink, not nude. She argued with me saying it was nude. I compared them to my toes, which was the original color I had asked for. She then brought out a deep brown and layered that powder on top of the pink powder. My nails came out super thick and lifted, jaggedly cut, unevenly textured, and the wrong color. I let her know my concerns and she continued to argue that this is what I had asked for. When I showed her the thickness of my nail compared to how they usually turn out, she told me that it was my type of nail that was the issue (not the fact that she had layered two powders over each other). If she thought that my nails were incompatible to the powdered ombré, WHY WOULD SHE SUGGEST IT over my original request for a simple nude. Her "solution" was to give me $10 back out of the $65 I paid and to tell me that she'd never do my nails again.
Best manicure I've ever had, hands down. I went in with my busted old acrylic nails from Rose Whittier nails, looking for a new look and experience. I knew I wanted my acrylic nails off because my real nails underneath were long. Instead of prying off each nail, they were wrap in foil and soaked in acetone making the fake nail and acrylic painless to come off . Liz recommended to do a powder dip to make my actual nail smooth and strong. That's what we did and I chose a beautiful rose pink gel color. I couldn't be more happier with my manicure! My fiance also got a Mani/Pedi and he almost fell asleep in the massage chair. He loved it. We booked our next appointments 3 weeks from now only days before our wedding. I can't wait to return!
This place is great , Liz has passion at what's she does , love my nails , but the wait was way to long , only Liz does the nails. I wish she had more people assisting her . If I go back I have to make sure I don't have nothing to do .
Located in a small strip off Whittier Blvd w plenty of free parking. The location is clean, roomy, with the usual massage pedicure chairs, manicurist station, and tv. The owner and manicurist Liz is amazing. She takes her time and listens to your design styles. There are plenty of color choices and designs. She has one employee who does the pedicures. So it's never too busy. She's available by phone or text to schedule and appointment so you don't have to wait too long. I've been going for years just forget to do a review! read more

I absolutely love my nails! She was super sweet and the nails are adorable! I decided on French tip with a more natural tone of brownish-red, she made them cat eye! Very unique, I'm obsessed. read more

This was from my 2nd visit there. 2 days after getting my nails done my first nail broke off right before graduation. A few days later my 2nd nail broke off and today my 3rd has broken off. We went back about 3 days after my first nail broke arriving at 10 AM (right when they open) they asked us to return at a later time and when we returned we received attitude. I did not get my first nail fixed bc I was tired of waiting. read more

So glad I found Liz and gave her a chance because I will be going to her from now on. It was a very professional but comfortable experience. She's respectful and polite and makes you feel at ease while doing your nails which is nice since a lot of places/nail techs don't do that. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did them, no problem. I was even super indecisive and kept changing my mind about what I wanted done/what color and she remained very patient and kind so that was a plus. Thank you Liz for taking me in last minute today!! I called Liz for a nail emergency - the gel from my last manicure (done by another salon) was peeling horribly! She was fully booked tonight but stayed open late to squeeze me in. I got #129 with unicorn powder on top. Looovee it! UPDATE -- I realized this morning that the paint job was done rather messily. I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say it was because another client was rushing her (she had 2 little kids with her and was starting to get impatient). I'm going to file the edges a bit myself to fix it since I know it'll drive me crazy until my next fill. read more

Overall, my experience was positive. The place was clean and organized. The ladies working there were very friendly. The quality of work was great. The reason why I didn't rate 5 stars was because of the amount of time my mother and I spent there. We had a 5:30 appointment and did not leave until 7:45. The reason why was because only 1 person did acrylics (the owner, Liz). We had to wait one by one to get our nails done. Please hire more nail technicians! read more

I have been looking for a salon that does quality work in my area for about 2 years now and I finally found it. Liz hooked me up with the best set of nails that I've had in a while. She takes her time and she really makes sure that your nails are looking nice and well shaped. She's really cool and gives off good vibes. I'm so glad I found Nails by Liz on yelp. I will definitely come get my nails done again. This is my new nail place for sure. Thank you Liz! read more

I'm from out of town and working in the LA area since September. Been trying out salons in El Monte, Arcadia, Baldwin Park and now Montebello. This is the first salon I've done a review on. The pedicure and fill were the first I've received while in town, that came out exactly as I asked. Didn't get the name of the lady who did my pedicure, but she was great as was Liz! read more

I kept giving them a chance because of all the great reviews on here. I gave it two stars because the pricing is not expensive, But I guess you get what you pay for. Both times I came here I got a gel mani and pedi. The first time the gel mani was streaky, but when I noticed I went back and Liz the owner fixed it. The second time I was also happy about the pedi, but this time LIZ did my gel mani from start to finish and it was HORRIBLE, The gel was streaky and bumpy and left alot of residue around the nail edges. When I asked her to fix it she just started to cut at the edges to attempt to remove the gel Polish and even cut me. Even after this there was still alot of gel Polish left around my nails so I started to pick at it to try and remove it myself, and all she said was it'll come off on its own!!! Like really? at this point I did not want to argue with LIZ so I left it at that. But a little advice for you LIZ next time a customer asks you to do something because they're clearly unhappy DO IT because they are the customer and they are paying for your services, maybe people would tip more and leave with a happy experience. But not me I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I am writing an update on Liz's nail salon. In the past I have been pleased with her services, but sadly I left her salon displeased and unsatisfied. I went in to get a full set after a long overdue time of letting my nails breathe. The last time I was at her nail salon was back in October. Anyways I chose a light color. Keep in mind all her polishes are gel. As Liz was painting my nails I had ask her if, I can add fairy dust on top of my nails. She denied me and told me she had paint my nails with 3 coats already. I told her ok? She then offered me ombre chrome nails. I told her ok, but I hated how it looked, and told her no before she began all nails. She kept insisting on glitter nail polish, and I told her no. All I wanted was fairy dust, and she kept denying me saying, she had painted 3 coats.I eventually disregarded her, and said it was fine that, I would just keep the color, so she finished my nails with top coat. She knew I was displeased, so by the time I had to pay she charged me 37! For what ? So she can save a penny on her fairy dust that is fairly cheap. For a mediocre job she did ? All I had was a small/medium coffin set. In the past I have never paid this much ! I think she just charged 37 because she knew I wouldn't tip her. Beware that she does not have prices listed in her shop, she charges what she pleases. I asked for a receipt and denied me that as well. She is just money hungry. What a shame I would of paid for her past customer service. Look at 1 star reviews, she tends to overcharge you if your displeased with her service. Thanks for keeping your customers happy, I rather go back to my original nail salon in riverside even if it's an hour drive. They have better services and theyare always on top of the nail trends. read more

The first ever time anyone has actually done the shape I wanted. Every time I'd get my nails done elsewhere, I'd ask for round. They ALWAYS ended up square. Not even "square round". Just SQUARE. Liz made sure multiple times which shape I wanted. Some may find that annoying but I found it considerate and reassuring. My nails came out the best I ever had and this is definitely my new place to go to. I'm excited to go again and get more done, including pedicure and eyebrows. My mother went after I expressed my satisfaction (my family knows of my struggle to find someone who gets it right). She got everything done and was also extremely satisfied with the results. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Liz is seriously thee best with nails! She evened out my nails and the polish itself came out nice. She has such a great personality as well. All tools are sterile! Which is a must for me. read more
