I had been calling several nearby salons and was en route to a different waxing salon; but fortunately Debbie's Waxing and Nails called me back and said they had a cancellation. I declined since I was en route to somewhere else in Montebello. But I double checked the Yelp reviews of the place I was headed to and Debbie's then decided to come to Debbie's instead. I'm soooo glad I did. Janet could tell how nervous I was and took her time. She was easy to conversate with. So I was able to relax. It's been years that I haven't had this type of service and she was able to minimize the pain. So much so, I will be back in a month for maintenance. Usually after a wax, I try not to think about the next time. On my way out, I asked if they could squeeze me in for a pedicure. I was planning to go to my usual place in a week. But I saw how good a job someone else's pedicure looked. So I got lucky and snagged another appointment. I had to wait 15 minutes. But they let me relax in the chair and soak my feet. I wouldn't have minded waiting even longer. For waxing alone: 5 stars. Based on the pedicures on the other patrons: 5 stars too. This place is a hidden gem. read more

WASABI will change your life when it comes to any manicure that you want! I came as a walk in and wanted to try dip nails since my go tos are usually full sets or gel x sets! It was an incredible first experience and Wasabi will make your heart melt with his puns and bubbly personality! In addition, I also had a very sweet girl who did my pedicure! Mind you, in my 24 years of existence I had NEVER gone into a nail salon to get my feet done! I moved back to SGV and decided to come back to Debbie's. They recently reopened due to COVID restrictions and I must say the shop has got an upgrade. More range of colors to choose from that are perfectly displayed once you walk in. They followed covid guidelines - I got my temperature taken and filled out a questionnaire form prior to getting my nails done. I got dip powder done by Wasabi and pedicure by Nina. My dip was superb! My nails were very short to nonexistent from not being able to keep up during quarantine, Wasabi added nail extension tips and shaped them exactly how I liked them. He's patient and fixed any errors I saw from my point of view. Nina, bless her heart - she gave me a pedicure on toes that hasn't been touched since quarantine *insert vomit emoji*. She trimmed, cut, shaped, and painted my toes so nicely. Highly recommend Debbie's for your mani/pedi needs. I try to wax as often as I can just because I like the look of being semi hairless. I wish I was but truly I'm one hairy lady. LoL...Semi personal but you got to be when you are writing a review about waxing. So first time coming here I was a little bit nervous just because this place doesn't look like any spa or semi nice. You write your name on a clipboard and sit on these plastic chairs and wait for your turn. I came in the morning and still two people were in front of me. She just barely opened as well. Soo I sat patiently while she tended to her clients. As I was sitting more people started to show up. When It was my turn I told her what I needed to do and she got to work. It didn't take forever and it was done quite quickly. Hair was on my body and it all came off. Which makes it good for me ! This was my first time at this nail salon and I absolutely loved my experience here. My daughter wanted a spa day so we came here because it was close to home. Everyone took their time with my daughter and I. I got a gel pedicure and dip for my nails. Wasabi did really good on my dip nails! He took his time and made sure every nail was perfect. I had a bad previous experience at a different place but I'm glad Wasabi showed me how good the powder dip is when it is done properly. They were also very good with my young daughter. I was not happy with my nails and how they didn't offer me a refund. I went in to get gel acrylic nails and the only thing I liked about the nails was the color. I told them I was not happy with the shape and all the did was file them and put clear gel polish on the tip of my nails which made them look worse. What a hidden gem!!! Got my nails done by Janet for the first time and I'll be returning. My gel french tip manicure and spa pedicure ran me about 36.00. And it looks really clean and neat!! Everyone here is nice, they don't rush and take their time. My biggest pet peeve is when nail salons do a sloppy, rushed job. Didn't bother me, as I was always satisfied with the results and price. This time around ? The prices are up considerably. They give you a coupon card. I was not given one. Maybe figured I would be back, so they didn't have to please me. My nails started lifting within days. By the end of the week ? I had 5 nails lift. The rest could be pulled off without effort. I will not be going back. I patronized the place for many years. The stuff they are using is not top notch, therefore, we are paying top dollar for a week's results. read more

So, my beloved Annie has left. When she left, I stopped going back in September. FFWD to yesterday where I had a few hours to kill and decided to get a mani/pedi. I opted to go there, because, how can you mess up a mani/pedi? Well, they did. I told them to not go up the sides of my big toes because a few months ago I had ingrowns taken out and I'm fine. She didn't listen and started to take nippers to it. By the time I stopped her, it was already too late and she had to continue cutting out my nail. The reason I wasn't focused on her is because I was trying to stop the manicurist from doing the same. She was somehow giving me hangnails and then pulling them out.
