My visit was through Groupon. Tip: Checked in at the counter and signed in on the ipad. I would recommend to have your groupon code in the groupon account ready. DO NOT CHECK IT OFF until they tell you to show the valid ticket then they check it off. I got their standard head shampooing treatment. No upgrades to the session nor getting their premium shampoo. They showed me the scalp analysis in the beginning it was 3 mins really quick, didn't really elaborate what was going on. Good experience for the first time, probably wouldn't try again since I didn't know what it would be like. I would say when it came to the shampooing that's where the massage was present. It was soothing and relaxing. The standard shampoo they used was so relaxing, heavy scented tea tree oil and mint. It was cooling on my scalp. Pet peeves: Towards the end, they dry your hair with their hair dryer. They do use a communal hair brush because the there were previous customer hair strands still on the brush. I would notify them if you would like to skip using their brush. OR you can bring your own brush to brush your hair. When I was guided into the room they started the water fountain machine. It felt like I was left there half of the time in the session with the head spa water running down my hair. Not sure if that's normal for all head spa sessions. read more

Update: response to owners comments - yes they two that were serviced did tip, one had a good service, the other never received the facial and the therapist left her alone half the time. I came back only because we paid via Groupon and you would not give me a refund directly. We had a reservation for three, made months before our date, and when we got there there were only two staff. We were told it was because of an emergency, Chinese New Year. One of the party received an adequate service, the other was definitely not worth the money. We had a Groupon, which means we already paid for three services, so I insisted I be given a free service at a later date. Reluctantly, she agreed. I went a few weeks later, my service provider was good and really sweet but overall, I have had a better scalp therapy, at a nicer location, for less cost. I would suggest your expectations are not very high if you plan to come here. read more

I purchased a gift certificate from Beauty Queen Spa for a good friend's birthday. It was his very first professional massage, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. When he arrived, they immediately tried to charge him an additional $50, even though the massage had already been paid for. When he said he was going to contact me because I had purchased the gift certificate, they suddenly said it was fine. However, before the massage even began, they repeatedly pressured him into paying an additional $45-$50 for an upgrade until he finally gave in. The massage itself was not relaxing at all. Instead of using their hands, much of the massage was done with a machine that was uncomfortable and even painful. The next morning, he woke up with bruises on his back from how rough the treatment was. To make matters worse, when he was leaving, he offered to leave a tip, but they complained that it wasn't enough. A tip is supposed to be voluntary and based on the quality of the service--not something that should be demanded. This entire experience was unacceptable. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this business to anyone. I am very disappointed. read more

Beauty spa is a nice local place to get a quick head, Scout massage and a facial. They are closed Mondays, but are open Sundays too . I have been a customer since the beginning and the owner is super nice and friendly, and sends out promotions all the time . The business is tucked away in a small corner. Walked in 10 min early for a 2pm appointment. A worker greeted me and apologized stating that they are still working on a customer so it will be a 10-15 min wait. She was nice enough to hand me a small water bottle. Did a quick scalp analysis. However I couldn't understand her completely in English or Mandarin Chinese. She was explaining the scalp analysis as well as trying to up sale services but I couldn't quite make out the issue of the scalp or the benefits of a higher tier package. I declined. She took me into the room. I felt the air was "stale" as in there's no air movement. It's a hot summer day. I asked if the AC was on and they said no the boss doesn't want to turn it on. Waited until 2:30pm until the service started. Good thing I didn't have another appointment or responsibility so I could wait around. First your hair is in a bucket for some time...the other places have a slow continuous flow of water; here, you feel it when they adjust your head to put it in the bucket to wash and hear the water release from the bucket. The massage was very short with very inexperienced hands. The person probably needs more training in massage. Additionally because it's not a continuous slow stream, they're using a machinery that loudly states when the machine is turning on and off. If you're trying to sleep, it'll wake you up. When it's done, they moved another machine and the water spilled all over the ground. They tried to mop it up but the floor was still wet. They just asked me to be very careful when I walk towards the dresser to blow dry my hair and when I leave. While blow drying my hair, they didn't move the blow dryer much and I told them it's too hot. Happened 3 times total and I kept moving my head to prevent a burn. Again, not enough training- move the blow dryer not just the hair. Lastly when I touched my hair, it didn't feel that different or soft. Though I got this off of Groupon for around $50, this just felt like an expensive hair wash done poorly instead of a spa. Maybe because I went to a Korean spa and my experience was amazing so coming here with so many mishaps feels like a Temu version of a head spa. Even if this was free I'm not sure I would come back. read more

I opened my Yelp and I tried "my project", little did I know it sent an auto message to a nearby facial spas, and that's how I found Beauty Queen Spa, because they are the quickest to respond. I decided to try their place and went for hydrafacial "only" and surprisingly, I didn't expect to get a good head, shoulder, arms and hands massage as well. I went in to do my lashes and ended up getting an infection causing my eyelids to swell up and start to shut my eyes closed. I went in to have them removed and they refused to give me a refund and instead gave me a credit. Not putting it in their system or telling me specify when I have to use it by. I decided to use the credit towards another service since I did not trust the eyelash service. Going with the head spa treatment was a waste. I ended up still having to pay out of pocket and they didn't even do the full treatment with anything listed. Pretty much was a shampoo with a massage, conditioner, and a blow dry. No difference in my scalp when they showed it to me before or after they finished. So obviously I knew not much was done. Please save your money. I don't write bad reviews ever. I always write great ones to support the businesses I love. But this one I wouldn't recommend truthfully. The customer service and the services provided are not worth it. read more

They upsold me to the "deep clean" for an extra $40, but I wasn't impressed with the results. When I mentioned that, the owner said it would take multiple sessions to see a difference, which made me wonder what the point was in paying extra this time. Beauty Queen Spa is the third place I've had a head spa experience and easily the best place. The setting is lovely, very clean without being sterile. Everyone I encountered there were so professional yet warm and welcoming. The actual scalp treatment was absolutely divine and included a shoulder/neck massage. I may have fallen asleep and snored once or twice, lol! I highly recommend Beauty Queen Spa and although it's about a 30/40 minute drive for me, I will definitely be back. It's worth it! read more

She lives in Los Angeles and I live in Huntington Beach.. so quite a distance. I used to live in Montebello a while back. Anyway, we have been talking about getting a head scalp massage. I found this place on Yelp with great reviews and just so happens they had the date and time we wanted. We got there with a few minutes to spare. The spa was clean and chic. There's an area where you can take selfies. We checked in, and went in sat down for a scalp analysis. The front desk host was very nice and she explained to us what she was doing and what we were looking at. I believe the owner of the spa was with us as well. After checking our scalp, we went into our rooms with our designated technician. My technician was amazing! I'm so sad I didn't ask for her name for future sessions. We started off with a facial, which led into my scalp treatment. The cost was $129 for head scalp + $60 for facial. Total of $189 each. We paid cash which helped us save some money. That $189 was worth every dollar spent! I highly recommend Beauty Queen Spa in Montebello!! I am sure we will be back :) read more
