I've been to this salon before, but my last visit felt off. I went in for a gel pedicure. I requested gel polish and powder, and the technician let me know there would be an additional cost, which was fine. The pedicure began, but she was a bit rough. At one point, when polish got onto my cuticles, instead of using acetone to clean it up, she used a file to scrape it off, which was uncomfortable. What made me feel most uneasy happened at the end of the service. While I was still sitting in the pedicure chair and hadn't even put my shoes back on, the technician said something to the receptionist, and the receptionist immediately came over and asked how I would be paying. I told her I would be paying through Zelle, and she gave me my total right then and there so I can pay. This caught me off guard because during my previous visits, payment was always handled at the front desk once I was ready to leave. I also noticed that the customer next to me was not asked to pay while still seated. For context, I was dressed casually in a baggy t-shirt and leggings, and I couldn't help but wonder if that played a role in how I was treated. The combination of being informed of pricing, being asked for payment before I had even gotten up from the chair, and the difference in treatment left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. overall experience was not what I've come to expect from this salon. read more

UPDATE: The salon reached out to me after my review. They told me my full set was $110 and my pedicure was $63, but their own menu shows the Classic Pedicure I received was $40. I also confirmed I did not get gel, and I was never told there would be any extra charges. I appreciate them reaching out, but I'm still disappointed with how the pricing was handled. I'm sharing the screenshots so people can see the conversation for themselves. I'll be finding a different salon going forward. I'm posting the screenshots of our conversation and the menu so people can see exactly what was communicated. My issue isn't simply that prices changed -- it's that I wasn't informed of the prices I was ultimately charged. I'm very disappointed with my experience. I was originally quoted $90 for my nails, so I expected my total to be around that price. I also got a pedicure which was the second lowest in pricing $$ maybe 35$$ unsure, yet I was charged $175 total when I checked out. I was never clearly informed that my total would be that high before the services were done. I'm especially disappointed because the price was not communicated clearly upfront. Customers should know exactly what they are being charged before agreeing to the services. $175 is a lot of money, and unfortunately, I do not feel that the service or quality was worth what I paid. I came in with a full set of acrylic nails and no pedicure. I was looking to purchase a Gel pedicure with the add on of chrome to my nails. The man doing my nails quoted me $60 for only adding chrome on top. He wanted to charge me a full price for a service I didn't ask for. All I wanted was for him to add chrome on top, which at most places is $10 because you get a set then chrome is an extra charge. It should've been only $10-15 because he was not doing my nails, I had a fresh acrylic oval set from that morning when I went to my local artist who simply ran out of chrome. Then I didn't even get the Gel pedicure because it would have been another $60. In total, I spent $62, they charged me $20 for removing the top coat of my acrylics without even giving me what I asked for and they charged me $40 for filing my toenails and scrubbing them (which I didn't even want at that point and I was asking to leave). The woman doing my pedicure was sweet and considerate, trying to tell me about additional charges and the guy kept telling her "it's fine it's fine whatever looks pretty." Extremely suspicious. It was my second time coming here and I almost cried. I can't believe I paid $62 to get my acrylic set ruined and to get my toes cleaned which I could have done myself. In response: I should not have been charged for the price of a full service when I said no to it. I denied polish, I denied the scrub but the lady kept pushing. I didn't even want to be there and the guy wouldn't even let go of my hands. It's robbery to make me pay for all those services when I no longer wanted to because I wasn't okay with the price.
