Really great stop in PA on my trip up to New York. I was surprised how packed the place was on a Sunday. Even though it was busy, service was very friendly and helpful. The food arrived fresh and hot. My friend basically did not speak while she ate her burger saying how great it was. Not a ton of vegetarian options, but definitely enough to be happy. I didn't get to try them but the desserts look amazing. Very comfy place. Will stop again! read more

Stopped on our way to the Finger Lakes. Was a nice family run restaurant. The gyro (especially the tzatziki) was well worth the stop! Husband got the Reuben burger - decent burger, but not as good as the gyro. read more

Liver and onions was hard and overcooked, the medium rare prime rib meal for $30 was tough dense & overcooked. The food is flavorless. The French onion soup is horrible with too much salt, croutons and very little cheese. I've not had any good food there yet. I don't think they have very good cooks there. A major disappointment for the prices. read more

This restaurant ended up being a wonderful little stop on our road trip! We were greeted immediately upon entering, and our waiter was extremely friendly, and gave us great recommendations. The restaurant itself was clean, with lots of large booths. We ordered the rueben quesadilla, and the very unique turkey sandwich with peaches and jam. They were both absolutely delicious! Upon our waiters recommendation we finished it off with blueberry cheesecake, which was fabulous and freshly made. What a great spot! Brilliant menu for any mood you might be in. Today, I kept it simple with a Reuben sandwich and sweet potato fries. My Reuben was grilled with care and the whole experience was crisp and succulent. From start to perfect finish. Fries were awesome too and they added a tasty sweet chili dipping sauce! They have fresh deserts from tiramisu to cherry pie. Even a dessert menu of gourmet sundeas. There is even a Candied Maple Bacon Sundea. Being someone who loves the classic Greek pastry called Baklava, I went with the Baklava Sundea. It was homemade, and memorably delicious!!! The staff is thoughtful, and the seating is comfy. They even have a full bar with creative cocktails! One of the best restaurants of its kind. Today was my last experience here before I move to another side of the country. Ordered the cheese omelette, which came with home fries. The eggs were cooked perfect and home fries had scallions and green peppers in them. The best I ever had. Mediocre at best. The staff was great, at first. Seemed a bit put off when I complained about my food. I ordered prime rib, rare with broccoli and corn. We stopped here because truthfully there was an enormous dragon out front, and the family wanted photo with it. We decided to eat here and were very glad we did. Do you like patty melt sandwiches? They have several -- the grilled cheese burger and meat loaf patty melts are spectacular. The pork chops are delicious. The burgers are large and filling. Overpriced comfort food We went to dinner and maybe that was our mistake. I have since heard breakfast or lunch there is better. The appetizers were standard diner quality. The soup (lobster bisque) tasted the same as at most places. We both got broiled crab cakes and they were decidedly underdone - more like crab dip with a little breading. Oh they had lots of crab, but they definitely could have used some seasoning as well as additional cooking time. In fact I took one home and roiled it in more bread crumbs and cooked it in the toaster oven which made it a bit better. Absolutely nothing special about this meal - except the price. We bounce around to experience various eating establishments. This was a large CLEAN establishment. The server was friendly. It was a full when many restaurants are cutting back on theirs. The food here was ample and tasty. Onion rings came quick and a good portion size. The side salads were ample size and the mixed greens fresh. Cheese steak sub was not chopped chip steak but actually sliced steak on a fresh roll, onions and sauce. Fries were extra. Which is fine if you don't want them. Chicken n waffles w/baked potato had ample chicken. The waffle was sweet and flavorful. Grilled chicken cordon bleu sandwich on a brioche bun . Nice sized sandwich, tasty, could use a bit more honey mustard. BBQ Pulled pork on brioche roll comes with Cole slaw and fries. Cole slaw was a huge portion served in a bowl 8 oz?. My family stopped at Lumberjack's Kitchen in the middle of a 4 hour car trip. We were very hungry and cranky. The staff sat us within a minute and they brought our drinks and appetizer very quickly. We all had a great meal and the kids really enjoyed their dessert. We headed back into the car very happy and will make sure to stop here every time we make this trip. Once we made it through the strange foyer/living room area with cobwebs in the chandelier, we were seated and started looking at the menu. We ordered French Onion Soup and Lobster Bisque. The bisque was good but the French Onion was so incredibly salty that we couldn't eat but a few bites. Our entrees were brought out--a grossly over cooked gyro, a patty melt, and a burger which was pretty good. There were three separate televisions playing three separate channels at high volumes, which was very distracting. The atmosphere is definitely strange and the food ranges from okay to awful. Lumberjacks is the former Burgundy's & has been open for about two months. It is the same owners & same building, just a different concept, more casual & now it is open for lunch in addition to dinner. You can get a childs lunch meal for $6.50, we got two chicken strips and fries. It's a little pricey (would have enjoyed a drink or applesauce or something else), but the food was good. 3 Stars, it was alright. read more

This place is about as good as an old school Greek diner in Astoria Queens which means it's pretty good. Long drive, mid afternoon, was at a lumber mill most of the day, stopped in for a late lunch. Food was fresh, everything well seasoned, friendly service. A new pit stop in that area. read more

Any Lumberjack would be pleased to eat here. Their maple syrup pancakes are fantastic. You can also pick up a package of trail mix for you next lumber jacking trip into the Perry county woods. Plenty of parking area. But stay away from the parking spaces next to the river. read more

The servers are friendly (although it can be a little slow sometimes) and the food and beer selection is excellent. Prices cannot be beat. I am so glad I listened to the positive reviews. Today is a long day of driving and this was a comforting place to stop period friendly service Pleasant decor and clean restrooms for starters. And the food was definitely a nice combination of healthy and comfort food. I got the apple walnut salad which was a nice mix of greens, spring greens and a lovely dressing. And then I got plain old fashioned hot roast beef sandwich with delicious gravy and mashed potatoes. If you're looking for Moosewood type vegetarian cooking this probably isn't the place for you. But if you want a comfortable enjoyable place to stop specially if you're traveling I recommend the Lumberjack! read more

The servers were friendly. The place was fairly empty at a Friday night dinner hour but I don't think this is a booming Metropolis. The calamari "app" was "rubbery" ... your cook/chef needs to learn how to clean/bread/fry fresh calamari ... not difficult ... your frozen calamari product was horrible! I enjoy the fact that they have a comfort food section on their menu. I had the chicken and waffles. Initially I was afraid it would taste like government food but it was far from that. The serving was massive, a full size Belgium style waffle topped with hand picked chicken and gravy. I got a side of mashed potatoes which were a bit firm but totally home style. The desserts are plentiful and appear to be hand made. My boyfriend got the Marsala, he didn't like it that much. He much preferred my chicken and waffles. Horrible! The worst restaurant experience I've EVER HAD! No hostess present to seat us/no sign saying seat yourself. So we seated ourselves. After a lonnnng time a "hostess" walked out and stared into space. My boyfriend had to beg her for menus. The place was NOT BUSY. Five tables two waitresses. We were quite hungry so we ordered off the specials board thinking the stuff wb out fairly quickly. 35 minutes later....no food. Simply waiting for a burger and mashed and meatloaf sandwich. The waitress came back and asked my bf who had a nearly full glass of tea if he wanted MORE. He said we'd like some food. I said we'd been waiting 35 minutes and mentioned I had health probs and was quite hungry. She got very defensive said they were busy and others came in BEFORE US. Duhhhh. Never did she offer some bread and butter or a cup she of soup or anything. She was extremely rude. Not helpful. All the waitresses did was cater to their hometown cronies fussing over their tables. We got up and left and on my way out I asked for the mgr and the waitress said I'm busy she was busy cashing out a "customer". Don't go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If u want to eat that is!!! read more

Stopped here for lunch on the way back from a PA trip. The decor was homey and comfy. There was a waiting area in the front that reminded me of a living room. My daughter ordered Alfredo and I ordered soup. It was pretty good and exactly as I expected. The waitress we had was nice but she keep making comments to us and it made me a little uneasy. My daughter isn't a big salad fan and when her meal cane with salad she picked at it as to what she would eat and offered me some. I reached over to get some salad from her plate and the waitress stopped over and said to me 'do you always pick from other plates?' When I told her my daughter wasn't big on salad she replied 'well then why did you get salad?'. I think I just wasn't in time to her sense of humor. She kept stopping by and sharing little stories and talking. I appreciate that she was being friendly but we just wanted to have our lunch be her back on the road. It was basically cream warmed up with a few small pieces of crab and mushroom. Edible, barely. My husband ordered the eggplant parmesan. As another reviewer said, he was unable to cut the eggplant. Very poorly prepared. He ate the pasta that came with it because he was hungry, but it was nothing special. The waitress did take his entree off the bill, which was nice. We LOVE this place! Try the Smothered Sirloin and make sure you dip each bite into the warm maple syrup! The desserts are divine also!

Loved it! Fresh and delicious and super filling. Just know it is a lot of food. I should have shared and made my kids share a meal.
