Chicken and waffles, served with two sides (broccoli and mashed potatoes)

A good stopping point off the highway! Very large selection of food, I had a PA classic, chicken and waffles. Others in the group had burgers and salads. The food was standard diner food nothing spectacular but a good and quick bite.

They are definitely a steakhouse, offering many different cuts of steak at higher price points, which is expected for quality steaks. No one in our group ordered steak this time, however. Three of us ordered the Bourbon Glazed Chicken Breast, which was made with Bell & Evans chicken -- always a great sign because their chicken is excellent quality. We all really enjoyed our meals. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, and the service was good. We arrived about an hour before closing, and there were still a couple of parties dining. One thing worth noting: if you're a water snob like me and carry your Yeti filled with reverse osmosis water everywhere, this restaurant does not allow outside beverages. In all the years I've carried my water bottle with me, this is actually the first restaurant that has ever told me I couldn't have it there. Overall, I do recommend this restaurant, but I'd also recommend looking over the menu ahead of time so you know what to expect

The parking lot always seems full, but I never stopped until tonight. All I have to say, this is one of THE BEST steaks I've had in a very long time, maybe ever. My friend Steve invited me to have dinner here tonight and I was not disappointed! I had the strip with green beens and a loaded potato. Steve had a huge tomahawk. They were both cooked perfectly medium rare and super tender which Steve informed the chef personally. Sarah provided great service and many whiskey sours. Great job. Now I have to come back. Sorry was so hungry I didn't take pics.

Red Rabbit Drive In comes up quickly on your right side so be prepared, but as soon as we pulled in, a server came right over to our car to take our order. We had already looked at the menu on line and knew we would order a Bunny Burger, which they cut for us, and a pork bbq sandwich (also cut for us so we could share). The burger has its own special sauce and that, along with the pickle and onion, made it delicious. We also loved the pork bbq sandwich which was topped with a sweeter pickled relish. Yum! I especially enjoyed their milkshakes which are made with real ice cream and are thick and creamy. The black and white was perfect, but we also tried their peanut butter chocolate. Divine! They then put a number on your car, and when the food is ready, bring it over to your vehicle on a tray which attaches to your window. We were so excited, and everything was delicious. Keep in mine, they're cash only and when you're finished, they ask you to turn on your hazards and will come back and pick up your tray and trash. FYI, the bathrooms were very clean. We'll be back in the spring when we can enjoy the whole experience with the windows down and music playing.

The ribs and sliced brisket sandwich were the clear stars--perfectly tender, full of flavor, and cooked just right with a nice smoky bark. The smoked mac and cheese was another standout--creamy, rich, and packed with that deep, smoky goodness that takes comfort food to the next level. Chicken was flavorful and decent. Just not my style as I enjoy a hot & fast style. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with a casual setup where you can sit wherever you want and order at the counter. The service was quick and efficient, and our food came out hot and fresh in no time. Portion sizes were generous, definitely worth the price and enough to leave you satisfied. The sauces were solid--a nice variety to choose from and they complemented the meats well. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but they did the job. If you're a sauce lover, you'll appreciate the options, though the meat definitely shines on its own without needing much help. All in house created which personally I thought they be better knocks a star off. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish--excellent BBQ, cozy vibes, and smooth service. Definitely worth the visit if you're craving top-notch smoked meats and hearty sides in the Pennsylvanian mountains.

While driving home from an epic early-June Friday adventure, I found myself battling a serious…read moresweet tooth craving. What I needed was a grab-and-go dessert to cap off the day. Enter Ranch House Restaurant. I've been driving past the Ranch House for the majority of my life and somehow had never stopped. This particular Friday, that was finally going to change. Located right along Route 15, The Ranch House earns immediate points for convenience. It's incredibly easy to get in and out of, and there is a TON of parking available right outside the restaurant. From an accessibility standpoint, this place is about as easy as it gets. I pulled in around 4pm on a Friday afternoon and had no trouble finding a parking spot. Inside, the restaurant was buzzing with diners. Busy for 4pm? Absolutely. Overwhelming? Not at all. There were plenty of staff members available, and someone greeted me almost immediately. I explained that I wasn't staying for a meal and was only there to check out the dessert case for something to take with me. The waitress couldn't have been nicer and encouraged me to take my time. And thank goodness she did. I spent several minutes standing in front of the dessert case having a very serious internal debate between two worthy contenders: a towering slice of peanut butter pie and a gigantic piece of chocolate cake slathered with peanut butter frosting. In the end, the chocolate cake won. For $6.77, I was happily carrying an enormous slice of cake back to my car and already looking forward to dessert later that evening. This particular piece of cake had been officially designated as Friday Night Date Night dessert and was destined to be enjoyed a few hours later in a beautiful location. I remained committed to the plan and patiently waited until the proper time to dig in. The cake itself was very good. Moist, nicely textured, and pleasantly chocolatey without crossing into ultra-rich fudge territory. As someone who generally prefers vanilla over chocolate, I appreciated that the chocolate flavor was present without completely taking over the experience. The frosting, however, was where things got interesting. As a self-appointed peanut butter dessert connoisseur, I have consumed a truly alarming amount of peanut butter pie, peanut butter cake, peanut butter cookies, peanut butter cheesecake, peanut butter brownies, and pretty much anything else containing peanut butter. This frosting was unlike anything I've ever tasted. Most peanut butter frostings fall into one of two categories: rich and dense or fluffy and sweet. This one was neither. It was salty. Not slightly salty. Very salty. There was a bit of peanut butter flavor. There was a bit of sweetness. But the dominant note for me was salt. I'm honestly still not sure if it was the peanuts themselves, the butter, or some secret ingredient in the Ranch House's recipe, but it was one of the most unusual peanut butter frostings I've ever encountered. Several days later, I'm still trying to decide whether I actually liked it. To be clear, I finished every last bite. Cake doesn't go to waste around here regardless of how confusing my feelings may be. But the frosting left me scratching my head the entire time. Would I stop again? Probably. Would I order the peanut butter dessert again? Probably not. For me, this visit landed firmly in the "meh" category. The staff were friendly, the location was convenient, and the dessert case offered plenty of tempting options. Unfortunately, the peanut butter frosting just didn't quite hit the mark for my taste buds. And that makes me a bit nervous about trying anything else.
