Petite Crab Cake Trio appetizer. Great size for an app, I could only eat 2 and took one to go!

Really great little place! Apple Maps considered this place a Gastropub. I wouldn't necessarily call it that, but honestly, for the location, this is a great spot! Food was really solid. I had the petite crab cakes trio appetizer and a bowl of loaded baked potato soup. My hubby had a bacon bourbon burger. Everything was very tasty, served hot. Great portion sizes! I personally appreciated that the menu had all of their items labeled gluten free (GF). It makes life with a limited diet much less stressful. Service was slightly slower than I would've liked and they had quite a bit of waitstaff on, but the quality of the food was unexpectedly good for the location. Would've truly given a 4.5 if possible. Location is literally right on route 11 (the highway) but you can't hear it inside due to music and typical restaurant noise. Not the prettiest outside the window but ambience inside is nice. Clean. Drinks were good too! Prices were typical for todays average. If we're ever back in the area, we would definitely go again!

Dive bar? Nope. Local? Yep. Quality? Yep. The Old Trail Tavern has occupied a small space near southbound lanes of US-15 in central Pennsylvania for years, about halfway between Harrisburg and Lewisburg. Its unpretentious exterior conceals a magnificent makeover that makes this a must-visit if you are in the area or passing through. Old Trail is a cozy space that seats perhaps 50 with about 8 seats at the beautiful bar. There are also a couple of outdoor tables with nearby patio heaters. The interior is immaculate and while I was there the staff was working hard to keep things spotless. Old Trail highlights local beverages and local ingredients. The beer list isn't extensive but has a nice mix of craft brews and mainstream beers. Steaks are a menu highlight, as well as a tasty appetizer selection. I enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich with house fries; both were excellent. My companion savored the expertly prepared bacon barbecue burger. Service was froand attentive throughout our visit on a crisp fall Saturday. We look forward to many future visits to the outstanding Old Trail Tavern.

Ribs, firecracker shrimp, mashed potatoes and baked potato. Not pictured- Chesapeake Fries with beer cheese- AMAZING!!!!

The atmosphere was fun, utilizing retired ride vehicles as booths and playing into the park setting. As expected in Hershey, the menu explored how chocolate can be integrated into a very American menu. I enjoyed the pulled pork grilled cheese: the chocolate barbecue sauce reminded me of a lighter molasses-based sauce so it worked with the barbecue. We had the Ferris Wheel appetizer which was mostly a win, but the items could have shown up on a TGI Friday's menu. The next day, to escape the millions of middle schoolers in the park (I have a whole travelogue brewing for that) we came back because I wanted one of their gigantic milkshakes. The Reese's peanut butter shake was peanut butter to the Nth degree, and it was topped by an entire slice of peanut butter pie. My friend got a stomachache but I love anything peanut butter so this was a win for me. Both times the service was really good. Our servers were friendly and attentive so we never felt we were being ignored or passed over. A+ in the service department.

Then you open the menu and realize there is a surprisingly large Hawaiian themed food selection. It is not really a restaurant, though. It feels like a bar first, with a better than expected food program, not the other way around. The bar service was excellent. I ordered a Sazerac, and they served it with the absinthe on the side so you can add it to taste. That is a small detail, but it shows care and attention, and it made for a great drink. Service overall was friendly and prompt. Even though it is clearly a bar, it is also calm enough during certain hours that you could do some work or have a low key meeting. I would not try that during peak drinking hours. I am not sure of the exact hours, but it seems like more of a late day or evening spot than a lunch stop. If you are in the area and want a solid cocktail and a snack, High Dive is an easy pick.

The moment I realized there was nowhere to park in Harrisburg's awesome Midtown area, I knew I was in for a good time. That kind of energy usually means a place is worth the stop. From the old‑school neon sign outside to the throwback décor inside, the whole place felt like a blast from the past, almost like a little slice of Brooklyn tucked into Harrisburg. The crowd was lively but not overwhelming, with plenty of seating and someone ready to greet you right away. I was told that during the week there's usually no wait at all, which is a huge bonus. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink, and he delivered a gorgeous gin Frenchie with perfectly balanced foam and flavor. It was honestly one of the highlights of my visit. This spot is a true hidden gem and now holds a special place in my heart. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great drinks, great vibes, and a throw back atmosphere.

We had the fried green tomato appetizer which was delicious and both had the pork chop special which was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the banana creme brulee which was phenomenal and the sweet potato cake - also tasty not overly sweet, popcorn garnish was soft vs crunchy though. They also left a card on our table which was super nice but the best part of the evening was our server Tina. She was phenomenal. Even on a busy night she gave us recommendations, was attentive, and so nice. Five star experience for sure. I thought I was driving into a neighborhood and we put the address in wrong. When we entered the staff could not have been nicer. We were so impressed with our server, Tina, and all the employees. The place is dim but very clean. It can be a nice date night or you could take the kids. The menu is unreal and I could have eaten anything on it. The kids menu is great. We started with the elote potatoes after my wife had an espresso martini. The potatoes are almost like a street corn potatoes and is charred and crispy. It was excellent and a fantastic start. For entrees I had the crab pasta and she had the Mediterranean chicken bowl. Let's start with the pasta- legit homemade and outstanding. I never get crab dishes outside of Maryland. Our server said it was one of their most popular and I see why. It has a little spice and is in a rose sauce. As good as it was the pasta really is the star. My wife's chicken bowl was everything. She loves on a plate. It was fresh, clean, and scrumptious. She ate the entire thing and the portions were large. The chicken was perfect. Seasoned and cooked to expert levels. She will obsess over this dish for a while. Simple but amazing. We finished with dessert. A piece of chocolate cake that when it arrived you would think it was a quarter of the cake. It was rich but not sweet. The milk raspberry crunch was totally different. I do not care for raspberry but ate this and really enjoyed it. So I give it a 10/10 on food and service. We live an hour away and will find a reason to come back. The best part was we walked out with all this food, great service, and a bottle of win and the price was $169. I think the value is there and I hope this place thrives.
