Wanted to give a shoutout for how awesome High Dive was for my friend's 40th birthday celebration last night. We were able to reserve part of upstairs and the other half was another birthday party. The bar was still open to other patrons, so it downstairs is busy, see if you can snag a bar chair upstairs. The server was awesome and overall the entire staff crushed it. They even brought out a birthday donut and sang! Atmosphere was dimly lit but with cool tiki vibes upstairs. They do have little lamps if you need to borrow to see the menu. Highly recommend.

One of the best bars I've ever been to! We sat upstairs, and it was like I was in Hawaii. From the themed drink cups to the decor, this place hit the theme 100%. When we arrived, the upstairs bar wasn't busy, so we were able to get a seat. The drinks on the menu looked delicious, but I was craving an Aperol Sprtiz, and luckily for me, they had one. It was perfect. We really wanted to try a fun, themed drink, so we got the navy grog which came in a shark head cup. I think this is the cutest drinking cup I've ever had at a bar. It was actually a big drink that two people could easily share, which me friend and I did. Service was fast and friendly.

Tiki bar alert! The upstairs bar 'is a vibe' (as the kids say), and bartender Minh makes a helluva cocktail. Super friendly staff and owner. Their cocktail program is unmatched in the greater Harrisburg area. Highly recommend a visit if you're into tropical cocktails, rum, and good times.

Fantastic spot as one would expect from the team behind The Millworks and the Watershed Pub. Absolutely recommend, but read on. High Dive is built on the bones of a former nuisance/dive bar, but successfully retained architectural details while seriously improving the space. Service was absolutely first-rate during both of my visits and at both the upstairs and downstairs bars. High Dive specializes in cocktails, so while beer and wine are available the focus is on spirits. Food is available but mainly small plates and burgers. Drink prices are probably a bit on the high side but absolutely worth it for drink quality and atmosphere. High Dive is a tremendous addition to Midtown Harrisburg and well worth a visit

I am so glad to have discovered this new spot in Harrisburg. We stopped in for an evening for appetizers and drinks. Be aware, you do have to park in street parking and may have to pay to park depending on what time you go. They have a nice area downstairs and another upstairs with quite the "divey" vibe. The drinks are excellent. I had the blue Hawaiian which was decorated all cute with a tropical twist. My husband got the Saturn, and he liked the drink despite not being a gin fan. The espresso martini was excellent, highly recommend. I got the pickled eggs for an appetizer, which had a bit too much vinegar for me amongst all the ingredients, but were still good overall. My husband got the chicken dumplings, which he said was tasty with the sauce, but was a bit dry. Overall we had a good experience with excellent service. We just wish they had a bit more options on the food menu.

Easily one of the coolest bars in the area. The drinks are amazingly crafted. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is electric. High Dive hits all the marks.

The High Dive is a revamp of a bar that's been in the city of Harrisburg for many many years. I must say they did an amazing job, the ambiance is dark and sultry but don't let that deter you from entering Because although the lighting is dark there is plenty light. The bartenders are all welcoming and friendly! However ( Dustin) went above and beyond with attentiveness and even joined me in a little game I like to call "guess who". The bar has many options if you'd like something simple, but they also have some out of norm cocktails. They have tiki drinks and some are even served in large conch shells. The loaded fries are also a must get, hot crispy waffle fries, pulled pork, drizzled with a house made cheese wiz, need I say more? If you're in the area be sure to pop in you won't regret it, I will be back very soon!

An absolute gem in the heart of the historic district . Staff are super friendly and will assist with selecting the perfect cocktail for you and your party. Large selection to choose from or if you have a favorite cocktail, just ask for it. Nice selection of food appetizers that complement your cocktail selection. The bar atmosphere is alive and buzzing and best of all, no babies or children allowed! Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Yes, cocktail and appetizers are a little on the pricey side, but you're paying for the experience and the great tasting drinks and food. I highly recommend a visit the next time you're in the area and looking for a great cocktail.

The vibes are really cool, they have perfectly nailed down their aesthetic in my opinion. Drinks are pretty good but overpriced. Food menu is also good, but not much variety-- everything has the same sauce on it which we found odd. The staff was very helpful and sweet. I would probably come back if I was bringing someone who hasn't been before, or maybe a special occasion.

Another great restaurant and bar in Harrisburg! Cocktails are on point and their smash burger is the best I've had! Dustin and the crew at High Dive are easy to talk to and provide great service. One patron made the staff homemade crab cakes and handed them out as he sat at the bar. "Cheers" type feel - where everybody knows your name!

The Sturges Speakeasy - Enjoying solo brunch

The Sturges Speakeasy

Everything about this screams, Irish speakeasy! As an appetizer, we ordered sausage, fried deviled…read moreeggs, which were surprisingly amazing with a honey mustard type of a sauce for dipping. My partner ordered fish and chips, which came out to be a huge piece of white fish, lightly battered and a generous portion of french fries, since Saint Paddy's day had passed. I ordered bangers and mash which again was amazing!. Sorry, no pictures this time.

The cocktails alone are worth the visit. The bartenders really know their craft, and the alcohol selection, including local beers, is solid. My only real issue is brunch. Every time I've visited after 12 p.m. (brunch is served until 2 p.m.), there's been a problem--either they're no longer taking food orders, the kitchen is backed up with a 45-minute wait, or they've simply run out of food. It comes off unprofessional and could definitely be handled better. I've noticed this becoming a growing trend during brunch service in general, and while some people suggest arriving as early as 10 a.m. for the best experience, consistency matters. If you're offering brunch, you should be properly staffed and prepared to serve guests throughout the full service window. Period. It's especially frustrating when you've traveled specifically to experience their culinary offerings and hit a wall like that. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that feels like a New York-style dive bar with elevated drinks and solid food--if you catch it at the right time--this place delivers. Just plan strategically if brunch is your goal.

The Review: Men in the Kitchen…read more My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!! It was a rainy Sunday, and I was working up a hunger while driving Uber for content. I went to three different spots before I finally found the place I should've gone to first. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are so good that I want to find another establishment just like it, but so far--at least on this day--nothing in the area can beat it. I don't know why I treat this restaurant like a good wife that a man might constantly cheat on but always returns to. I'm not saying that I actually cheat; I'm just using that for context! So, I found myself once again at Two Men in the Kitchen. Since it was Easter Sunday, they offered a buffet or a special limited menu. There was fish and chicken wings available, and I chose the wings. Since I don't eat meat often, I asked for their "House Sauce," and it is by far amazing. I paired the wings with the 3-cheese baked mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. I went for the sides first because I wanted to save the best for last--I already knew that house sauce was going to be incredible, especially on the chicken and greens eggrolls they have. The mac & cheese was great; it had a crunchy outside yet remained soft in the middle, and the cheese pull was amazing. The sweet potatoes were definitely homemade; I could tell because every slice was a different cut, which I appreciate because it proves they didn't come out of a can. Now for the best part: the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly--neither overdone nor underdone, with no pink on the inside. Everything was pure. I did happen to taste a little bit of Old Bay on the wings, so I asked the chef if that was part of the secret seasoning. He said no, so maybe someone slipped some in by accident, but it didn't stop me from indulging. I also ordered one of their house special drinks--a Hennessy and rum cocktail. It was a very pretty drink, but unfortunately, I am not a fan of Hennessy. Personally, I think it tastes like house keys or licking a brass knob when you're a kid. On my scale, the drink was a 2 out of 5; I just don't think rum and cognac should mix, but that's just my opinion. The atmosphere was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely visit this place again and again, although sometimes it is hard to tell if they are open because of the heavily tinted windows. For those who know the area, this is the old firehouse in Harrisburg. I was told that on the weekends, they clear some tables to create a dance floor, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of bar seating and booths, making it a kid-friendly environment. The only thing I don't like--which applies to every restaurant on 2nd Street--is that it's very hard to find parking. You have to do it online, via text, and it won't allow you to purchase any time less than an hour. Kinda sucks for those carrying out. Totally not the restaurant's fault though. I got the jerk quesadilla without the jerk ranch sauce. They don't serve this or their regular quesadilla with salsa or pica de gallo so it does taste a little bland. The jerk flavor isn't coming thru for me. It's a little disappointing but it's also just a quesadilla so I don't expect much. I'm not deterred though. I'd be interested in trying more on the menu. It seemed like a cozy place to sit and eat. I'd also like to eat there on my next visit. I'll update my review when I do.

Wow! My companion…read moreand I stopped in on an early Saturday evening after months of "you know, we should try that place sometime." We are glad we finally did. 1762 was formerly known as The Warwick Hotel, and that's the prominent markings you'll see from the street. It is a really excellent spot on the square in Hummelstown with cozy charm and exceptional service. My companion was initially skeptical when she saw wine on tap but immediately changed her mind when she saw the offerings--good quality and reasonable price point. The beer selection is also good. Not a huge number of beers but well-selected. Although we didn't have a full meal we did enjoy the sausage and honey appetizer, which was outrageously tasty with sausage from a local butcher in Hershey. Service was efficient and friendly, especially considering the bar (where we sat) was hopping. We also met the owner, Dave, who rolled up his sleeves to assist at the bar while also personally greeting customers. Our biggest regret is that we waited so long to finally visit...and we'll definitely be back soon.

When did they start that? Why? To kill off their business obviously. The door man told us we'd have to wait a few minutes to "clear some people out," so I'm thinking it's packed and poppin'. Cleared out, yes, poppin', no. Basically, I will return again only if: I'm too drunk to remember why I shouldn't go here or if I have a date I want to dance with alone on the dance floor. Or maybe take a dump in the bathroom since it's not too busy and I could have privacy. All three above scenarios seem unlikely, so I won't be back any time soon.

Knock has to be one of the coolest bars in the Harrisburg area, and I cannot wait to go back…read more I recently visited Knock during Harrisburg's parade day, after a long day of day drinking. My best friend, who lives locally, told us about the place. We were hesitant leaving the comfort of 2nd street, but we followed her down Pine Street and stopped at the entrance to "Madam Knock's Pine Street Beauty Parlor." After giving the bouncer the weekly password (this can be found on their facebook /knock.hbg, twitter @knock_hbg, or instagram @knock_hbg), we went up a flight of stairs and entered the Beauty Parlor. The Beauty Parlor was set up perfectly, and after giving the password one more time, the bookshelf vanished to the side.... and TA DA! We entered the Speakeasy, a whole new world. The music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, people were dancing, the lights were low, and we were in for a good time. The entire bar/ club has a Prohibition-era style fashion with dark hardwood floors, lots of purple, and chandeliers. The bar was located all the way to the back, which is also where the exit is. There is a dance floor in the middle, and centered is a DJ. There are a few seating areas in addition to the VIP sections. I think there was a total of 3 VIP sections which ran about $250 + per a night. The drinks were fruity and presented well- I wish I could comment on the price, but I really can't recall. You can browse their drink menu on their website. Knock is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until 2 AM. This is a Harrisburg MUST.
