We had reservations for 7 PM we arrived about 10 minutes early and were greeted and seated in the upper dining area immediately. Our waiter took our drink orders and told us the specials my wife chose the: Penne Penne pasta, maitaki and shiitake mushrooms, asparagus, white truffle oil, chive, light cream, parmigiano And I chose: Lumaconi Short ridge pasta, blistered tomato, roasted garlic, sauteed rock shrimp, arugula, molichie Both meals were delicious and we split a coconut flan for desert this was a very lighty flavored and topped with caramel sauce. Great service in an elegant and comfortable setting. We'll be returning again!

Rubicon post pandemic has taken the place of Mangia Qui. The menu is most reminiscent of MQ but some dishes and favorites from Rubicon's French influenced and Suba's tapas menus show up from time to time as specials. Both venues now run as event space.

If you are in the city of Harrisburg Rubicon is a must visit. The food here is absolutely delectable, the service is outstanding everyone is friendly and informative when it comes to their menu selections and drinks. The ambiance is sensual and sexy. Come dressed to impress and Rubicon will do the rest!

The raw oysters were amazing! Service was on point and attentive! Ambiance is and has always been a vibe! Every-time I have been here the waitresses have been delightful and knowledgeable! Plates are a great size but I have noticed they like to use large sprinkles/ grains of salt on the steak and other items and to me it ruins it. The other flavor profiles in every other dish I've ever had were great except that one thing. otherwise it's a 5!

It had been several years since our last visit to Rubicon and it was nice to see they are still amazing! This was just a quick visit to enjoy a "quality" cocktail and a snack at the bar, but it exceeded our expectation. The bartender is a master craftsperson, whose handmade cocktails are flavorful, unique, and are not watered down. My wife and I each tried one of the specialty drinks, her a Dj's Addiction, which was very good and a Guava Gool for myself. This was a bourbon based drink and being a person who enjoys bourbon, I'd never had a cocktail as balanced with flavors as this one. Just enough additions to complement the bourbon while still maintaining the baseline flavor! Delicious. While at the bar we shared their artichoke small plate with horseradish cream, which was just amazing! I could have eaten the whole dish myself. In addition to the amazing drinks and food, the bartender is great! Friendly, very welcoming, and contributed to our visit in a way that made us want to return in the near future! While COVID has been hard on the restaurant industry, it's great to see that Rubicon has returned!

A love letter poem to one of the classiest: Summertime table linens set up in the street, versus perfect libations and conversation prepared by Suze- Dollar oysters at the bar make deciding where to seat something impossible to choose. Clever and adventurous cocktails are a tour de force, but truffle breads and fried artichokes are perfect pairings, of course. Date night dinner or a glass of sparkling for one, your elegant atmosphere is second to none. The days I dress up for celebration time, you're the first place that always comes to mind.

I had high hopes for Rubicon. Rubicon felt a French gastropub, and the contemporary decor was absolutely beautiful. Walking in, it made me feel as if I was somewhere else and not in Harrisburg. The menu looked so promising. The wine list was very impressive, and they advertised "affordably luxurious" champagne at half price and a buck a shuck oyster for happy hour. A friend and I had dinner at Rubicon this evening. I was famished so I ordered a lobster roll and the beef tartare. Even though there were only a few parties, it took a long time for our food to come out. The lobster roll was flavorless. You just knew it was frozen lobster and the kitchen didn't even season it. The beef tartare was even worse. It was made from filet mignon but it might as well not be. What a waste of a good cut of beef. There was a weird, distinctive herb taste in the beef tartare that I could not put my finger on. It tasted like rosemary which does not belong in a beef tartare. The beef tartare also came with a side of cold Vichyssoise, which tasted sour and did not really enhance the dish. I would recommend skipping this one.

1st time. Did a prix fixe night in celebration of Rio and Carnival. Food was delicious. Starter for both was cheese bun with pimento guava butter and Portuguese sausage. Craig followed it with crab gratin - real lump crabmeat and excellent flavor. He then moved on to Seafood Stew that included shrimp, monkfish and mussels in a coconut milk sauce with peppers and tomatoes. I had palmitos - palm salad with mango and a wonderful passion fruit vinaigrette. I followed that with churrasco guacho which included picanha, sausage and pork tenderloin - the chimichurri was great. Ended with yummy deserts - Coconut Guava cake for Craig and the best chocolate truffles I have ever had. Fun night. Tomorrow it turns back into a French restaurant.

Champagne & Oyster happy hour?? I love you...

Then you open the menu and realize there is a surprisingly large Hawaiian themed food selection. It is not really a restaurant, though. It feels like a bar first, with a better than expected food program, not the other way around. The bar service was excellent. I ordered a Sazerac, and they served it with the absinthe on the side so you can add it to taste. That is a small detail, but it shows care and attention, and it made for a great drink. Service overall was friendly and prompt. Even though it is clearly a bar, it is also calm enough during certain hours that you could do some work or have a low key meeting. I would not try that during peak drinking hours. I am not sure of the exact hours, but it seems like more of a late day or evening spot than a lunch stop. If you are in the area and want a solid cocktail and a snack, High Dive is an easy pick.

The crowd was lively but not overwhelming, with plenty of seating and someone ready to greet you right away. I was told that during the week there's usually no wait at all, which is a huge bonus. The cocktails alone are worth the visit. The bartenders really know their craft, and the alcohol selection, including local beers, is solid. My only real issue is brunch. Every time I've visited after 12 p.m. (brunch is served until 2 p.m.), there's been a problem--either they're no longer taking food orders, the kitchen is backed up with a 45-minute wait, or they've simply run out of food. It comes off unprofessional and could definitely be handled better. I've noticed this becoming a growing trend during brunch service in general, and while some people suggest arriving as early as 10 a.m. for the best experience, consistency matters. If you're offering brunch, you should be properly staffed and prepared to serve guests throughout the full service window. Period. It's especially frustrating when you've traveled specifically to experience their culinary offerings and hit a wall like that. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that feels like a New York-style dive bar with elevated drinks and solid food--if you catch it at the right time--this place delivers. Just plan strategically if brunch is your goal.

The Review: Men in the Kitchen…read more My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!! It was a rainy Sunday, and I was working up a hunger while driving Uber for content. I went to three different spots before I finally found the place I should've gone to first. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are so good that I want to find another establishment just like it, but so far--at least on this day--nothing in the area can beat it. I don't know why I treat this restaurant like a good wife that a man might constantly cheat on but always returns to. I'm not saying that I actually cheat; I'm just using that for context! So, I found myself once again at Two Men in the Kitchen. Since it was Easter Sunday, they offered a buffet or a special limited menu. There was fish and chicken wings available, and I chose the wings. Since I don't eat meat often, I asked for their "House Sauce," and it is by far amazing. I paired the wings with the 3-cheese baked mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. I went for the sides first because I wanted to save the best for last--I already knew that house sauce was going to be incredible, especially on the chicken and greens eggrolls they have. The mac & cheese was great; it had a crunchy outside yet remained soft in the middle, and the cheese pull was amazing. The sweet potatoes were definitely homemade; I could tell because every slice was a different cut, which I appreciate because it proves they didn't come out of a can. Now for the best part: the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly--neither overdone nor underdone, with no pink on the inside. Everything was pure. I did happen to taste a little bit of Old Bay on the wings, so I asked the chef if that was part of the secret seasoning. He said no, so maybe someone slipped some in by accident, but it didn't stop me from indulging. I also ordered one of their house special drinks--a Hennessy and rum cocktail. It was a very pretty drink, but unfortunately, I am not a fan of Hennessy. Personally, I think it tastes like house keys or licking a brass knob when you're a kid. On my scale, the drink was a 2 out of 5; I just don't think rum and cognac should mix, but that's just my opinion. The atmosphere was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely visit this place again and again, although sometimes it is hard to tell if they are open because of the heavily tinted windows. For those who know the area, this is the old firehouse in Harrisburg. I was told that on the weekends, they clear some tables to create a dance floor, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of bar seating and booths, making it a kid-friendly environment. The only thing I don't like--which applies to every restaurant on 2nd Street--is that it's very hard to find parking. You have to do it online, via text, and it won't allow you to purchase any time less than an hour. Kinda sucks for those carrying out. Totally not the restaurant's fault though. I got the jerk quesadilla without the jerk ranch sauce. They don't serve this or their regular quesadilla with salsa or pica de gallo so it does taste a little bland. The jerk flavor isn't coming thru for me. It's a little disappointing but it's also just a quesadilla so I don't expect much. I'm not deterred though. I'd be interested in trying more on the menu. It seemed like a cozy place to sit and eat. I'd also like to eat there on my next visit. I'll update my review when I do.

My companion was initially skeptical when she saw wine on tap but immediately changed her mind when she saw the offerings--good quality and reasonable price point. The beer selection is also good. Not a huge number of beers but well-selected. Our biggest regret is that we waited so long to finally visit...and we'll definitely be back soon.

When did they start that? Why? To kill off their business obviously. The door man told us we'd have to wait a few minutes to "clear some people out," so I'm thinking it's packed and poppin'. Cleared out, yes, poppin', no. Basically, I will return again only if: I'm too drunk to remember why I shouldn't go here or if I have a date I want to dance with alone on the dance floor. After giving the bouncer the weekly password (this can be found on their facebook /knock.hbg, twitter @knock_hbg, or instagram @knock_hbg), we went up a flight of stairs and entered the Beauty Parlor. The Beauty Parlor was set up perfectly, and after giving the password one more time, the bookshelf vanished to the side.... and TA DA! We entered the Speakeasy, a whole new world. The music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, people were dancing, the lights were low, and we were in for a good time. The entire bar/ club has a Prohibition-era style fashion with dark hardwood floors, lots of purple, and chandeliers. The bar was located all the way to the back, which is also where the exit is. There is a dance floor in the middle, and centered is a DJ. There are a few seating areas in addition to the VIP sections. I think there was a total of 3 VIP sections which ran about $250 + per a night. The drinks were fruity and presented well- I wish I could comment on the price, but I really can't recall. You can browse their drink menu on their website. Knock is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until 2 AM. This is a Harrisburg MUST.
