Food and service. It was very busy but they ran a smooth operation. The Dutch omelette was amazing with sausage gravy.

Heisey's Diner - Western omelette with home fries with onions and toast. Pretty bland.

Heisey's is a true old school local diner, and I mean that in the absolute best way. My grandpa and…read moreI come here for breakfast pretty regularly, and it's one of those places where there are clearly tons of regulars, the servers know everybody, and some people barely need to order. My grandpa is one of them. Our server is usually Dee, and she is always incredibly friendly, attentive, and FAST. Honestly, that's one of the things that always impresses me here the food comes out ridiculously quickly even when they're busy. My breakfast go to is half a "honky" eggs, potatoes, peppers and onions all mixed together with cheese on top, plus toast. Nothing overly fancy or trying too hard. Just really good, filling diner breakfast. And the prices are almost unheard of anymore. My grandpa and I can still get breakfast for under $20 for both of us. But everybody talks about Heisey's for breakfast, and I'm here to tell you: don't sleep on dinner. Their fried fish is one of my absolute favorites. It's MASSIVE and so good. The restaurant itself is bigger than it looks, too. There's the main diner, additional dining areas and banquet space, plus a bar around the back all connected. There's a reason Heisey's has been a local staple for so long. We'll keep coming back.

Unfortunately, I would not return to this establishment. Everything we touched felt dirty and like…read morethere was a layer of grease on top. Ordered a soda and it left a funky taste in my mouth. Asked for a new one and it had the same taste. Once the food came out, I had already lost my appetite. The food was not good and I was coming from the field eating packed ready meals so had high expectations.

Came here on a Monday just after 10:30am and they honored our breakfast order. The lunch menu starts promptly at 11am so this was really nice of them. The place is so cute! It's got a country/hipster vibe. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a bar! :) My one issue with breakfast was that I asked for butter and was given butter packets. We came here thinking we were having fresh Amish butter, nope! - What a disappointment! Ugh. The reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of the weird smell. Walking in I thought maybe we walked in right after a gassy person but as we walked through the restaurant to the back the smell was still consistent. We got to the table and the smell seemed to go away or at least we got used to it. At one point I had to use the bathroom and while walking around to find it, the smell hit me first. I was able to smell my way there. Once walking out I was sick. My husband also had to use the e bathroom but the smell was too strong for him so we went stopped elsewhere. The place has a smell that's a mixture of plug-ins and poop. It's the weirdest thing. I'm not sure if they were having sewer issues today or what happened. It seemed like they were definitely aware of the issue because the smell of several plug-ins or air fresheners was obvious. I'd like to give this place another try since the ambiance, food, and staff were all great but the odor is a dealbreaker for me. I guess I'd have to go back & see if this issue gets resolved, if not, I would not stay a second time.

Their cocktails are stellar and I have loved trying the seasonal specials. Their burgers are top-notch and we all enjoy the Wisconsin cheese curds. My most recent visit I ordered the fish tacos and I was impressed with every component of that dish. As far as cocktails, I've tried the blackberry bramble, which is deep and flavorful; raspberry lemon drop that is bright and mildly sweet; and had the cherry cheesecake from the winter menu and enjoyed the fresh flavor with a rich finish. The beer list is also very good with offerings from Dewey Beach, Troeg's, and other craft breweries. I feel Brickerville House is consistenly a great value for your money. It's a comfortable place to meet friends and it's also good for kids.
