Super cute old fashion diner! 12:00pm - 1:00pm on a Saturday was surprisingly dead. Breakfast and lunch served until they close at 2:00pm. Our server was very nice. Though, he forgot my coffee and ja few other requests. Prices are good. Best part about the meal was their homemade breads. I recommend the raisin bread and sourdough. Rye bread was not impressive and could have been wheat bread. My eggs were supposed to be over medium but they were over easy. I asked for butter on the side and the toast still came out buttered. The cheesesteak melt special had a good amount of meat and was not too messy. If I lived in the area I could see coming there once in awhile but definitely not worth a drive.

We stopped her for Sunday brunch and was taken care of very well! Food came out hot and well seasoned. My hollandaise sauce could've used a bit more lemon but it was good. Loved the old diner feel took me back in time.

    Total bill: $11.24

4 1/2 stars. Classic all time diner. Beautiful stainless steel throughout. I was there on a Sunday morning and it was pretty busy. They were short staffed, so please be patient. I still had fairly quick service. Western omelette with home fries with onions and toast, accompanied by iced tea and water = $11.24. Very good food! I just wish it came with a bigger plate!! I've been here before, and I will be back!

Mel's Eggs Benedict with corned beef hash

Breakfast food is my favorite thing in the world. Bennies in particular. I've never had one with corned beef hash. I think I'm in love.

Semi busy breakfast diner. Ordered an ham and cheese omelet home fries, sausage links and wheat toast. Water for drink. Nothing special about any of these items. I receive 3 very small extra grease filled links extremely lacking in flavor The home fries where very dry and overdone. Difficult to chew at times. I don't normally add ketchup to my home fries but had to do so to make them more edible. The omelette was average at best. Not terrible but nothing special either. The wheat toast was average as well, hard to mess up toast. Service was friendly and kind. Although they didn't ask me how anything was but otherwise pretty good. For 1 person my bill was 11.46 which includes a .50 fee for using credit card. I'm not a fan of the .50 fee considering it's 2018 and I never carry cash. Considering the food quality I think that's a bit expensive. In my opinion there are far better breakfast places in the area. I'd consider the Hearth or Filling Station which are comparable but in my opinion better food and better value.

Burnt home fries, soggy rye toast, and watery omelette. The waitress obnoxiously filled my cup to the brim of old burnt coffee.

I had the salmon croquettes with Harvard beets and green beans. I was instantly transported to my family's home for dinner. They were made just as I remembered. I really enjoyed my meal. Everyone else had breakfast. My son had the hunky fries. It looked amazing and he ate every scrap. Everyone enjoyed their food. The servers walked around with the coffee pot frequently, offering to fill your cup even if it wasn't their table- haven't see that service in years. We finished with 3 pieces of pie- cherry crumb, cherry cheesecake and peanut butter cream. Fantastic! Probably a good thing this place isn't closer - Is be there all the time.

I quickly googled cleanest restaurants near me and Hearth Family was the closest. We were so pleased to walk in and have the smell of coffee and tea greet our noses!!! It looked clean too. We were the only ones there. After we placed our orders another couple walked in. We ordered a steak, stuffed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, salad, chicken Alfredo, Manhattan clam chowder, fried mushrooms. The soup was very good. It tasted homemade. The potatoes in it were so tender! The clams were a bit chewy. The fried mushrooms were crispy on outside and juicy inside. I thought a chimichurri sauce or garlic aioli on the side wouldn't been a great complement to this appetizer. The salad was a regular garden fresh salad but the blue cheese dressing was very creamy and delicious. The steak was typically as diner steaks are. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. The pasta was cooked al dente but with no salt so it too had no flavor. The chicken tasted like frozen chicken and I was afraid to eat it as some of it looked like it wasn't fully cooked. I should know better not to order pasta at a diner! My bad, I really wanted good pasta. Well the other items were good. The service was great, attentive and friendly. There is plenty of parking on either side of establishment. The restrooms are hot as an oven, no a/c!?!?

The staff are cheery, and super kind that makes you feel oh so welcomed. We sit and are immediately greeted by a warm server who asks if we wanted coffee...we say "of course" and she sit a pot on the table for us to fill as we need...I believe this was their bottomless coffee option. Then, to order we split things....we split the fig and pig benny and the bacon and cheddar quiche. Both were DELISH! The fig and pig was a perfect balance of sweetness from the fig jam with the buttery notes of the hollandaise and savory of the ham, brought together with a perfectly poached egg. The only criticism I would say to this dish, is that they slightly broke their emulsion with the hollandaise, but it still tasted very good! As for the quiche, it had a perfectly flaky crust and the filling was the right balance of bacon to cheese ratio that made you keep going back for another bite. I also loved the side of seasoned tomatoes; it was a perfect fresh contrast to the decadent dish it was paired with. I will DEFINITELY be coming back!

This place feels familiar, welcoming, and comforting in the best way. My go-to orders are either the breakfast quesadilla (which is huge and packed with veggies) or the mushroom omelette, both consistently delicious and filling. The food is always good, always hot, and somehow comes out crazy fast usually within 10 minutes of ordering. The service is what really sets this place apart. We always ask for Charla, and she is hands down the best. She remembers our order every time and often meets us at the table with coffee already poured. She knows her regulars, treats everyone like family, and makes every visit feel personal. A quick honest note: right now, some of the booths and tables are a little run down, but they're actively working on opening new building right next door, so it's clear they're building toward something bigger and brighter. It's absolutely not a deal breaker the heart of the place, the food, and the people are what matter, and those are solid. The building itself clearly carries history -- I actually had to duck slightly to pass through the low stone archway leading to our table. It added to the character and intimacy of the space. We started with the tuna tartare, which was a standout. I'm "that aunt" in the family -- the one who encourages the kids to try new things -- and this dinner was my monthly outing with my nephew. So yes, raw tuna hit the table. It turned out to be the perfect introduction. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and approachable, it made trying something new feel effortless. A total win. He ordered chicken nuggets, and while that might sound simple, they were clearly house-made, fresh-cut, and thoughtfully prepared. For chicken nuggets, they were excellent. My scallops, unfortunately, didn't quite land for me. The accompanying preparation felt overly complex and ended up overpowering the natural delicacy of the scallops. That said, the menu offers plenty of other intriguing options, and I'd absolutely return to explore more. Service throughout the evening was kind, attentive, and prompt -- exactly what you hope for during a relaxed dinner out. Overall, a warm, character-filled spot with standout starters and welcoming staff. Looking forward to the next visit.

If you look at the side salad from before ( within a year) it was bigger. You get charged if you want to substitute instead of chips but Tiny Tim wouldn't be satisfied with that side salad. And to piggy back on that my "large" house salad with added grilled chicken was the same portion as that tiny side salad but with a grilled chicken with it. Look at the older photos and you can see the difference on the side salad. Like I know they buy premade salad. Add a little more at least to the "large" salad. The crab cake looked about the same as the other and still tasted good to my husband. So they still charge you the full price of a side salad to substitute and just add it in the price. So it would be easier to get a salad on the side and get what they give you. We are spending our money to dine at least make it worth it. The last 4 pictures show our charges. Our waitress was nice and the food is good but not for those prices. Shame on you bluebird for the salad portions and not letting patrons know there isn't a discount on substituting your sides.
