Cedar Grill is one of those small local diners that just gets it. It's a regular stop on my breakfast runs especially because my 88-year-old grandpa absolutely loves it, which honestly says everything you need to know. This place feels familiar, welcoming, and comforting in the best way. My go-to orders are either the breakfast quesadilla (which is huge and packed with veggies) or the mushroom omelette, both consistently delicious and filling. The food is always good, always hot, and somehow comes out crazy fast usually within 10 minutes of ordering. The service is what really sets this place apart. We always ask for Charla, and she is hands down the best. She remembers our order every time and often meets us at the table with coffee already poured. She knows her regulars, treats everyone like family, and makes every visit feel personal. A quick honest note: right now, some of the booths and tables are a little run down, but they're actively working on opening new building right next door, so it's clear they're building toward something bigger and brighter. It's absolutely not a deal breaker the heart of the place, the food, and the people are what matter, and those are solid. This is a classic morning breakfast stop. Where you have the retired groups getting at their tables and chatting. It's a nice size Classic Diner breakfast. It looks like they might be in the middle of doing some remodeling. But the food was excellent as was the service. read more

Been here a few times now, so I feel I'm in a better place to give a proper review. I've been here for both breakfast and lunch, and everything has been good. The food comes out quickly, hot, and fresh every time. The staff are probably the highlight more than the food. While the food is good, the staff are very attentive and helpful, at least in my experience. We're not a demanding party by any means, but I do appreciate when the waitress is on top of refilling coffee, or brings the things you request in a timely manner. Of all the diners I've tried in the Myerstown/Lebanon area, this is probably the best one so far. I ate there last week. Had the liver and onions with gravy dinner. I never seen a gravy that color before. I got so sick with diarrhea and vomiting. I was ready to do to the hospital. My companions and I stopped in for an early breakfast. We were greeted and seated immediately. We were served coffee quickly and placed our orders. Both of my companions ordered Mushroom Omelet with hash browns, scrapple and rye toast. I ordered an egg white veggie omelet with a side of fresh fruit. WHAT A JOKE!! Placed my order for breakfast and an Arabic gentleman with a heavy accent picks up and he's clearly trying to rush me off the phone! I called back a minute later, LITERALLY, and asked if he could just change the hash browns on my 9 year olds order because she changed her mind and wanted French fries. Me and my family stopped at this restaurant while camping. The people were so nice everyone made sure we were taken care of. The food was great and was out on time. Went there for breakfast. First thing we noticed was the guy seating us was NOT friendly at all. Our waitress on the other made up for his grumpy impolite behavior. I was told by a friend to eat here. I first noticed the hodge-podge environment and to me it looked somewhat dirty. I sat to the left side and faintly smelled what I thought was dirty mop odor. This comes from not changing the mop heads on a daily basis and not properly cleaning the dirty ones. I was hungry and overlooked the above. My server was efficient but caved as soon as I had a problem. I didn't want to spend close to $10.00 for a sandwich and fries so I ordered a combo platter for $14.50. The menu clearly states you can pick 2 selections from the printed listing. I didn't trust the seafood here,so I ordered an 8 oz steak(probably was 5 oz after being cooked) and twin char-broiled chicken breasts. Well,only one chicken breast was on my plate,along with the rather small steak. I called over my server and she said "you got your 2 choices". I had her look at the menu and she saw it said 2 chicken breasts. That's when things got ugly. She told me that the chicken breast is actually 2 breasts. She then stormed away. I did take the picture and posted it on Yelp. Press on the picture to see my comments. This place has no ethics when it comes to it's truth in menu descriptions and if you want to be ripped off or over charged for items you paid for and did not receive...continue to eat here. Ask questions before as even my platter included dessert,as stated on the menu. I'm from out of town and just happened upon this place. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was mediocre. Creamed chipped beef was gelatinous cream with a couple flecks of beef. Deep fried scrapple oozed grease when pressed with a fork. Homefries were mushy and undercooked. However! My eggs were perfectly done, the toast was great, and the corner beef hash was heavenly! Let me preface, I am from New Jersey and we take our diners seriously. I was with a group of seven for a Sunday morning breakfast and everything was srved in a timely manner and hot! I had a western omelet (I wanted a Spanish but it wasn't on the menu), wheat toast and coffee. I appreciated that everything was on one plate - some Jersey diners bring each item out on a separate plate (not a good thing with seven people). The omelet was hot, the cheese gooey and just the right mix of peppers and onions. The home fries were a bit crispy and dry - a change from some Jersey diners who make 'em greasy and sticky. My only complaint would be with the coffee, it was a bit weak. I heard no complaints from any of the other parties and it seemed at least one of everything on the breakfast menu was ordered and consumed. The price was a bit more than what a Jersey diner would charge for a breakfast special (most Jersey diners include an 8 oz. glass of juice and the coffee) but worth it. We will definitely return next visit to the Lebanon area. read more

My fiancé and I have been coming here every Sunday for about six months since we've moved to the area. The food is pretty great. Although your order may slightly messed up (butter on dry toast, hashbrowns when you asked for none). The reason for the low rating is the service. There are two managers/owners. The bald manager is awesome. Very prompt, respectful, and courteous. The other one, with the short hair and glasses, is a jackass. I think he's really just completely stupid. Today, he sat us and placed the silverware on the table and only gave us one menu. Didn't say a word about it, which we found funny. We shared a menu and were ready to order, whenever a waitress was available. Then, the doofus manager sat a table of three gentlemen about five minutes later. He gave them two menus and took their drink order. The drink order that my fiancé and I didn't get. While they were sipping their coffee, we sat there without our drinks or a waitress still. The waitresses, about half of them are old, grumpy women, who shouldn't have a job in customer service. Rude and miserable. I really feel horrible for the few good waitresses that work there and provide great service. If it's too difficult to smile and say "have a nice day", then you should possibly find another job. And yes, I'm talking about the older woman behind the register.. what a ball of sunshine you are. If you ever sit in the back room, your shoes will be sticky for a couple days after. Quaint little place right off route 422. Plenty of parking. Breakfast food was good and priced reasonably. It's either crazy busy on the weekend, or dead midweek, but the food has been consistent on my 3 visits so far. 2 eggs, sourdough toast, and home fries for $3.95. Extra eggs are $0.75 each, and coffee is $1.79 all you can drink. The place is showing it's age, but it's the food and the service you're coming for anyway. read more

I've been coming here since I was little. Never had a problem, however I was there this past Saturday and I ordered a club melt with fries. I only ate half of the club melt because the turkey that was on it tasted like ham which threw me off a bit and I wanted to be safe than sorry. It is now Monday night and I'm as sick as can be. Went to get checked and I have food poisoning. This is the first time that this happened to me and I have been going for years but I would still be careful on the menu items that you choose. I've been here with my daughter and her three kids about a half a dozen times since moving back to Lebanon. For the most part, the food is okay, but we always have to send back for something forgotten or something that came out wrong. But, if you can deal with that, the food tastes good and the prices aren't bad. I am leaving this review because of the service we've had there, but especially this past visit. My daughter took me there for Mother's Day. They were busy, but they did their best to get tables cleared so people didn't have to stand and wait too long. When we sat, a woman asked us what we wanted to drink and we gave her our drink order. While she was getting it, our waitress, Tiffany, approached us and asked what we wanted to eat. She wasn't aware the other woman had taken our drink order, but aside from that, we had JUST sat. No one asked us if we wanted a high chair for my 2-year-old grandson or booster seats for my 5 & 6-year-old granddaughters. I ended up finding what we needed because when we told her we had just sat and weren't ready to order, she walked away before we could ask for them. When she came back, my daughter asked if they had a kids menu, as there wasn't one in the regular menu. She said no. That surprised us and when we expressed our surprise at a family restaurant not having a kids menu, she said, "You can just order a la cart." So we placed our order. The woman with our drinks came back with them and with crayons and a place mat for coloring for the kids. On the backside of the coloring page, was the kids menu. When we aske dour waitress why she had told us there wasn't one, she said, "Well, it's the same thing as if you order a la cart." The price for what she ordered a la cart for the kids would have been half the price on the kids menu. My daughter had ordered french fries. Nothing more. She specifically asked Tiffany if she could get them at that time of morning (9:30-10). Tiffany said she could get fries or burgers, just nothing from the broiler. When she brought our plates out, she says to my daughter, "Oh, you can't get fries now, it's too early. Do you want something else?" Now, it was Mother's Day and it was busy, so we waited a bit for our food. Why would my daughter want to just be placing an order when we are all already eating? I had asked for a side of mayo, I didn't get it. We had asked for one order of toast dry, we didn't get it, but for that place, we kind of expect stuff like that. Tiffany, on the other hand, was rude, unhelpful, and clearly in too deep. She was so bad that the manager (or maybe owner, not sure) with the dark hair and the glasses ended up taking care of the entire check for us. If you are familiar with the place and the people, you'd know, that never happens. We might end up going back, as I said, the food isn't bad and he did make it right by taking care of our check, but if I were to see we were getting Tiffany as our waitress, it would come down to requesting someone who knows what they're doing and has a personality, or going somewhere else. read more

Once the server brings your food make sure you tell your server ANYTHING that you may need because they never come back to check on you. The clientele is a bunch of stuck up judgemental pricks. By any means if you have a tattoo or a piercing this is not the place for you to eat unless you care to be stared at or made to feel uncomfortable during your entire visit.. which I found to be bullshit. I am a server myself, a good one at that so whenever I go out to eat I always tip over 20%.. I guess that isnt appreciated at this establishment though. I don't plan on returning. Located right off State Route 422 east of Lebanon PA 17042 lies this treasure. I visit once a month to attend a breakfast meeting as a trustee for a Radio Station. The food is served hot and plenty of food per serving, no skimping here! The parking lot surrounds the place with ample lighting for evening meals. Servers are seasoned professionals, not to over attentive to bother you yet willing to maintain your cup of coffee warm at all times. Desserts are mighty tasty, portions are sized towards the large size so your never go away hungry. For the last year or so the place seems to be in a perpetual change of indoor and outdoor remodel but, the workers attending to this change work when the restaurant is not open = Smart owner! read more
