    Short Ribs Hash Special
    Ben D.

Stopped in to the lumber Inn in Delafield Wisconsin this morning while running errands. As usual was seated promptly and the service was quick and efficient. I decided to change up my typical morning fare for their short ribs hash special. I'm glad I did. It was absolutely delicious. Perfectly poached eggs over incredibly tender short ribs. Crispy kale and sweet potato's rounded out the hash covered by their great Hollandaise sauce. Lumber and is still one of my favorite breakfast spots in Lake country Wisconsin.

It was a lovely diner with awesome service. Not a foodie kinda place though. Just an ordinary diner with ordinary food. I had the lumber inn skillet with the potatoes on the side and eggs over easy on top. The sirloin steak wasn't properly cleaned or cut. Some pieces were too big and some too little. It was like I got all the odds and ends of leftover meat. A lot of the pieces also had big chunks of fat or long pieces of ligament that I couldn't chew through. It was one of their pricier dishes so I expected better. Eggs were cooked perfectly. My older friend had the Patty Melt. She said you can't go wrong with this. And liked it. Also a random "surcharge fee" at the end of the meal (just a dollar and four cents) but I have no idea what that's for. Surcharges should be disclosed.

My FAVORITE breakfast spot! The service, food, and atmosphere simply never disappoint! It gets busy, so go early to avoid a wait however, I have never waited more then 10 minutes for a table. The inside of the restaurant is riddled with antiques and historic items about the restaurant and downtown Delafield. It is a warm inviting atmosphere and the server's are always in a great mood. I have never had an empty coffee mug or water glass. They also have a handful of tables outside, but they get snatched up pretty quickly - if you want outdoor I would say a 7:00am arrival is best for no wait. The food though...so, so good. I ordered the seafood benedict and that hollandaise sauce tops all others I have ever tried. If you love eggs benedict Lumber Inn will ruin you ability to eat it anywhere else! My son ordered the sunrise wrap and it was also very good. He had to take half home it was stuffed so full. When they ask fruit or potatoes, do yourself a favor and be unhealthy. The potatoes are perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and soft potato.

Yum! Such a fun find to hop in for a quick breakfast. This place was hopping on a Saturday morning but we were sat really quickly and the service was excellent. The food was really good. Enjoyed it!

Lumber Inn is the GOAT of all breakfast spots. They are consistently excellent every time you go. Service is fast so if you have to wait to get a table, you won't be waiting for long. Everyone working there is so nice and friendly. They have your typical breakfast foods, and also serve lunch options. For all the times I've been, I've never gotten their lunch options but I bet they are fantastic as well. Can't recommend lumber inn enough!!

The food was amazing and the service was friendly and fast. We aren't from the area but have plans to come back when we pass through town again. Highly recommended!

Good morning! Today my Wife and I tried the Lumber Inn for breakfast for the first time. First I have to say the food was phenomenal and the amount of food that I had was well worth it. The inside had plenty of room to sit and enjoy yourself. Our Server Jakob was phenomenal and I have to say his knowledge of the food was amazing too! Jakob was very patient and helpful when it came to the menu. Two thumbs up for Jakob! I will definitely be recommending this place to all my friends and family! I will also be sharing my experience with other people's.

Reasonable wait time with friendly and prompt service. Pirates were fresh and tasty like homemade. Spacious parking and bright lights. Pancakes were a little tough on the exterior but tasted ok. Poached eggs were so runny I barely ate them as they turned to yolk soup. Coffee is light so if you like strong coffee you might want to o have it black. Hand sanitizer at the table is a nice touch! Very popular location and seemed the whole town was here!-love the teamwork and communication they have here!

I can only speak for the Mother's Day brunch; we went with 6 adults and a child, and for such a large buffet it flowed seamlessly and the food was constantly being replaced to keep it fresh. Large variety of food. Table service was fast and consistent and all of the servers had a positive attitude. Reasonable price per person and all-you-can-eat. Only complaint is that there is no changing table in the small 2-stall restroom. It seems like a small thing but it makes for needing to either lay our small child on a floor mat or going out to the car. Street parking only, but definitely manageble. There was also a poor smell outside where we sat at the patio (from the nearby wastewater plant). The rice on the burrito also tasted more like the prepared rice at the grocery store rather than traditional Mexican rice). We also realized the soup cup charged one dollar more than listed.

The outside is cute and looks like it is straight off of a country road. The inside is small, I would estimate about 10 tables and 5 bar stool seats as half the counter is used for food prep. When we got there at 8:30 toe, four person table were unoccupied, but marked as reserved. We were too hungry to wait and decided to take a seat at the bar. I caution you on this as there is exactly zero padding in those stools. Do yourself a favor and wait for a table. We ordered pretty quickly, and my coffee was constantly refilled which any coffee drinker knows is a huge plus. You really get the small town service with a smile at Glenda's. The chef cooks right in front of everyone so you can see all of the dishes coming out. I love this because I often choose my meal based on what has been plated and walks by. We ordered the Good Morning Burrito ($8) with hashbrowns and eggs, hashbrowns, and choice of meat ($7.50). The burrito was the clear winner in terms of volume and flavor! Absolutely delicious and it came with a side of salsa. The eggs were good and cooked well. The sausage patties were pretty standard issue (you can also get sausage links, bacon, ham). The hashbrowns were your average hashbrowns, but what set them apart was the fact that they were crispy! It is hard to find crispy hashbrown when you go out for breakfast. We will return to try a couple more menu items!

We were seated promptly and the place was almost full for Saturday dinner. After a short wait, they brought us table waters and left a large bottle of water for refills. They have a nice liquor selection and an expanded page of a variety of Tequilas and specialty margaritas. The menu is limited to only one page but focuses on a nice variety of appetizers, Tacos and meals. For starters, we ordered the Chips and pico de gallo. The pico was very fresh and tasty and came with a generous portion of tortilla chips. For dinner, we ordered 3 tacos each - Manolos Bam Bam chicken tacos, Milwalke taco, Shrimp cilantro tacos, and the Quasi birria taco. When they arrived they seemed pretty small but our eyes were bigger than our stomach. Each soft corn tortilla taco was loaded with the selected meat and accompanied toppings. Each one was very delicious with generous amounts of chicken, shrimp, and steak with just the right amount of spice. After 3 of them I was stuffed! For dessert, we tried the stuffed Churros which were lightly coated with cinnamon and came with 2 dipping sauces of chocolate and creamy donut glaze. So good! The guacamole came out quickly and was tasty, with a slightly sweet twist due to the pomegranate seeds and chips just as I like them. I ordered the milwalke and manolos bam bam tacos. I preferred the bam bam because it was filled a bit more but I didn't love the mayo based sauce on either. I would've preferred that on the side or, even better, an offering of salsa instead. I would've loved to review their salsa but only heard about it as I was finished up and it was offered to the couple sitting next to us at the bar. I was excited to try here but there were a few misses during our visit so we'll head to other local restaurants when we're in the area for a more satisfying meal next time.
