Just didn't meet my expectations I suppose, but maybe it was a smaller serving than usual, given that we still received a large amount of jam accompaniment alongside it. Shoutout to our server, Charlie, who was very clear on our drink order recipients and friendly. Small tweaks could have made this experience a little better.

We were thrilled with the familiarity but also with the newness of the menu. As it was far too hot to eat al fresco, we were given a table on the first floor near the window. We had 5:00 reservations and were seated immediately. Our server, Mason, was fun and efficient, but he also had to cover the bar so he was running. A few more staff would have been helpful as the tables filled up, and by 6:15, people were waiting outside to get a table. The age group of diners is varied, and everyone seemed to be very satisfied. We ordered the Bruschetta and the Salmon with Lemon Risotto, both of them prepared very well. The food tasted very fresh, and the presentation was lovely. I also ordered the Bolognese because I love a good dish of it. This one did not disappoint. However, the meat pieces were small pea-sized bits of beef, which tasted good, but looked a bit odd. I would like to know why, but I was too busy enjoying the dish. It is my birthday and so I was offered either a free cocktail or a dessert. I love a good treat so the flourless cake was my choice. It was a very nice birthday present. I really look forward to our next visit. The menu has lots of options I want to try.

Well, I do think it's worth mentioning they were top notch until the end and I hear there's a new chapter (possibly different, but with some of the same people involved) on the horizon. So, if when the new chapter arrives for the building where Belfre Kitchen thrived for so long, you wonder what came before and do these folks know what they're doing? They do. Belfre served up delicious food in a chic, warm, and welcoming atmosphere by servers who were kind and caring. Until we meet again, Belfre!

Found out tables were only available via reservation which I thought was a bit odd for a Mexican restaurant but we were offered a seat at the bar so we jumped on that. Inside the decor was festive with a number of Frida pictures and great wallpaper in the restroom. We ordered guacamole and tacos. The guacamole came out quickly and was tasty, with a slightly sweet twist due to the pomegranate seeds and chips just as I like them. I ordered the milwalke and manolos bam bam tacos. I preferred the bam bam because it was filled a bit more but I didn't love the mayo based sauce on either. I would've preferred that on the side or, even better, an offering of salsa instead. I would've loved to review their salsa but only heard about it as I was finished up and it was offered to the couple sitting next to us at the bar. I was excited to try here but there were a few misses during our visit so we'll head to other local restaurants when we're in the area for a more satisfying meal next time.

It…read moreimmediately brought to mind the family's lakeside gatherings, where everyone was impeccably dressed and every dinner felt like an occasion. The restaurant captures that same timeless elegance of the late 1950s. From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in for a special evening. The candle burning in the reception area smelled amazing and set the tone before we were even seated. The service was impeccable, the lake views were gorgeous, and every detail was thoughtfully done. Even the restrooms were beautiful--spotlessly clean with elegant wallpaper, vintage-inspired furnishings, and even a mother's room, adding to the nostalgic 1950s flair. Now, let's talk about the food. Start your evening with a Boulevardier--it just sounds elegant, and it certainly tastes the part. Pair it with the fully loaded shrimp and crab bisque for a fantastic start. For your entrée, order the filet Oscar with asparagus and whipped potatoes accompanied with additional sides of hen-of-the-woods mushrooms and candied carrots. I also enjoyed an Infante with my filet, and it was the perfect complement to the meal. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert. The rhubarb dessert was the perfect ending--creamy, crunchy with a light meringue topping, and filled with tart rhubarb that balanced every bite. If you're looking for a place where Lake Country celebrates life's special moments, The Commodore is it. With impeccable service, stunning lake views, timeless 1950s-inspired elegance, and exceptional food, it's an experience as much as it is a meal. Make a reservation--you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, the service and follow-up were disappointing. We were not initially offered a wine list, and when we asked about ordering wine for the table, our server assumed we wanted individual glasses. The menu also referenced a soup of the day and dessert of the day, but we had to specifically ask what they were rather than having them explained to us. The biggest issue occurred when we ordered four desserts for the table but were charged for seven. I replied to one of the restaurant's follow-up emails explaining our experience and requesting contact from a manager. I received a quick response saying my message had been passed along, but more than a week went by without hearing from anyone. I then called the restaurant directly, provided my information again, and was told a manager would contact me and address the overcharge. Another week has now passed, and I still have not been contacted or refunded. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, and I gave the restaurant multiple opportunities to resolve the issue privately. While we will likely continue visiting other Bartolotta restaurants, we probably will not return to The Commodore. It is unfortunate because the food was good and the setting was truly 10/10, but the lack of follow-through has overshadowed the experience.

We all ordered a mix of things but started with apps. The cheese curds were amazing. Didn't care much for the onion strings. It was a surprisingly cold day so opted for some French onion to start out. They use rye bread inside which wasn't my favorite. Probably won't order again. However, the chicken tenders and fries were great. Heard the salmon BLT was very good too. The shepherds pie had a lot of potatoes so not as much filling. The beers were cold though! Similar to Leffs, they don't have beer prices on their menu. Kind of hate that. Otherwise, the service was great, the restaurant ambiance and patio were great and most of the food was good.

Large variety of food. Table service was fast and consistent and all of the servers had a positive attitude. Reasonable price per person and all-you-can-eat. Only complaint is that there is no changing table in the small 2-stall restroom. It seems like a small thing but it makes for needing to either lay our small child on a floor mat or going out to the car. Street parking only, but definitely manageble. We were very surprised how long it's been open. I decided to get a flight. In the past, I've noticed when ordering a flight usually there's a dollar or two price difference (discount) when you order a flight, but at voodoo they charge you per beer on your flight. So there's no savings compared to other breweries that I've been to. We ordered three additional different beers at the table and all of them were amazing. We ordered two different cocktails at the table, and both of them were extremely strong and hard to drink. However, the presentation was great. As for the food between the four of us, we shared the pub pretzel, chicken, schnitzel, the meatball sub special, and the truffle quesadilla. All of us enjoyed our meals and would definitely come back. Two suggestions would be: 1. We sat at a four top table. When ordering the pub pretzel the pizza pan that they used to put the pretzel on took a lot of the table up. Very limited space. I would suggest getting a half sized plate and possibly hang the pretzel? Other breweries do this. If not the same thing with pizza, you can have a stand for it. You lose so much table space that we really had nowhere to put anything. 2. As far as the paper towels on the table. Those as well take up a lot of space. It's one thing when it's a larger table, but as for a four top, I would definitely try to think of a different option. We found ourselves constantly trying to re-organize and move water glasses, etc.

Meatball sub was really good. Could've used a side of marina to supplement what can on it.

We moved into the area 7 years ago and have loved the Lumber Inn the whole time. The new ownership (okay, not that new....but in the past 7 years) has upgraded the restaurant from a greasy spoon kind of feel to a really delightful space (although I kind of like sitting in the older area by the cooks and lunch counter). I especially love the Florentine Benedict which skips the ham and adds a tomato slice and spinach and replaces the american fries with a fruit salad. The wait staff is fantastically attentive and the coffee is wonderful. They give a discount if you pay with cash. They are open for breakfast and lunch daily. They used to be open on Friday nights for dinner, but seem to have ended that now -- lots more dinner competition now I guess. The picture of the bloody mary was interesting -- I am going to have to try that the next time. read more
