Cool place to have brunch on their patio that's dog friendly with good music. Had a great experience, the only thing I would have changed was skipping the smoked bacon bloody Mary. It was a bit too smokey for me. I was hoping the bacon was just smoked. read more

I FINALLY had the chance to try this restaurant. It has been in my list for years. I will say it is worth the wait. I ate here for brunch many years ago before I knew about Yelp. I am glad I got to come back. Although it happened during COVID, so I wasn't able to have the dine in experience. The process doe ordering was easy and very breezy. I ordered the Atlantic Omelette which comes with potatoes and I added a side of strawberries. The omelette has tomatoes and lobster and crab (there are some items that I asked not to have in it and I added Swiss cheese). There was a heathy serving of both crab and lobster. The hollandaise sauce was good as well. I also ordered their famous red velvet waffle. It was fluffy and so delicious. I loved the strawberry compote and the butter on it. It taste so good. It comes with all toppings on the side so that you can prep it at home. My significant other ordered the lobster biscuit. He said that it was very good. It was like a lobster omelette with other veggies and sat on top of a tossed English muffin with potatoes. It looked like a lot of food and looked filling and delicious. We will definitely order from here again. The only downside is that we live outside of the delivery area. I would love to not have to leave my house each time I want this delicious breakfast/brunch food. read more

This was actually a dope spot. We were having a going away for a co-worker and I really just pulled this place up and decided it would be great for brunch. It was definitely not a disappointment. We loved it. The food was great. The staff was very attentive and made sure we all got what we needed. The atmosphere was chill and a great vibe. Parking wasn't bad, we parked in a lot not far way and had like a 5 minute walk. You do have to pay for parking....however....it's not expensive. I think the location is great, but I may be basis to loving a downtown city feel. I recommend this for brunch with the girls, coworkers, the boys.....just a great spot to gather for any group for good food and service. read more

Cute breakfast spot in Shockoe Bittom with great service and food. I went on a Sunday morning not too long after they opened and service was fast and great. I ordered the French toast which came with bacon and potatoes, I added scrambled eggs. Everything was cooked to perfection. It seems like they get busy pretty fast so I'd assume there could be a wait depending on the time you go to dine. I would definitely recommend LuLu's. read more

Absolutely Delicious!!! I had the shrimp and grits and my friend had the red velvet waffle with fried chicken. We literally at everything from our plates. The mimosas made it that much more enjoyable! Andrea was a great waitress. We'll definitely visit again when in Richmond. read more

Sunday brunch with a girlfriend. The vibe inside was nice and outside as well. There were fans outside because it was hot. The mimosas were flowing. The waitress was ok. The food was mediocre. I had a Cajun shrimp breakfast bowl over potatoes that was meh. My friend had a seafood omelette that was meh. We stayed for maybe an hour. The food did come quickly. This place gets a Katrina E. Yelp Elite 5 star review based on food quality and taste. Consistency is key and Lulu's delivers every time. I'm a HUGE fan of the crab omelette, it slaps your taste buds with goodness at every bite. The potatoes are seasoned oh so well, so ketchup is optional around here. Then there's the mimosas, they sell them in pitchers so yeah, tipsy brunch spot on deck. They have indoor and outdoor seating so variety! But try to make a reservation on the weekend or be prepared to wait for seating, but trust me, the wait is worth it. So my man gets the French toast here and apparently "it's flavorful and cooked to perfection" But the menu is fire so don't take my word and pictures for it, come eat here and find out for yourself. We recently visited RIchmond Virginia and we stopped at LuLu's for lunch one day during the trip. Loved it! We walked by on our way to another destination and decided to do lunch here. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the Red Velvet Chicken and Waffles. The other half got a burger. We each had a beer. The food and drink were great. I will say that the red velvet waffle while it looked it is was not particularly very tasty. I would maybe ask for a regular waffle instead. Otherwise my food was delicious. The sausage gravy that came with my meal was out of this world. If I ever go back I would order the sausage gravy and biscuits. There was parking nearby. The parking was free for an hour but we paid to park because we were in the neighborhood for longer. The bathrooms here were a bit messy. However overall it was a great experience! read more

Got breakfast here the other morning, made reservations online - super easy. We got there early and they were able to seat us. Service speed was good and everyone was friendly. I got the red velvet waffles and fried chicken with a hot coco. The hot coco was tasty, liked it a lot. The waffles were a little dry and dense. The chicken was tasty, but the potatoes were a little too peppery for my taste and the egg texture was a little to slimy. read more

Stopped here for a weekday brunch after exploring Richmond. We were HUNGRY and I had heard a lot about their chicken & red velvet waffle so we figured we'd give it a try. And by that I mean every single person at our table ordered the chicken & red velvet waffle! It did not disappoint. I was very pleasantly surprised at just how much came with our order - a generous amount of chicken on top of a large red velvet waffle with two scrambled eggs, house potatoes, and a yummy sausage gravy! Needless to say, I was very very full. Besides the amazing food, our server was very attentive, the ambiance was nice, and the food came out to us in a timely manner. I definitely recommend for anyone exploring Richmond! read more

My wife and family in Richmond went to Lulu's for an early Mothers Day brunch. Thankfully we had a reservation because the place was packed and lots of people were waiting to be seated. Our reservation was at 12:45 and we were able to find seating fairly quickly after arrival. Although we got our drink orders out rather quickly, the food took a long time to come out. We waited over 30 min for our meals. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or just couldn't keep up with all the orders but it was fairly noticeable to everyone at the table and the waiter. The staff was nice and the food was decent but I don't think it was worth the wait. My wife ordered the red velvet waffles. She and I were too crazy about the dish but we found the Atlantic Omelette to be rather tasty. The seating booths could definitely use an update like cushions/new wood if they are going to have us waiting that long for our food. read more

We have been wanting to come here for a few years. I was a tad disappointed in the food. The waffles & French toast made up for it little. I ordered a side of eggs, sausage, potatoes, sausage gravy & biscuit (I wanted to try a mixture of things to see what I liked). The sausage gravy is amazing. Definitely something I could come back & order. The fried potatoes were too spicy for my taste. It definitely tasted as if they had too much pepper or too much of something. The eggs are ok. The sausage is great as well. The biscuits are HUGE! Now onto what the hubby ordered. Which was a side of red velvet waffles & French toast. Both were refreshingly delicious. I also got hot chocolate which tasted like more milk or water than actual hot chocolate. Presentation was ok though. Would I revisit? Maybe to try something different. read more

OMG go for the brunch NOW! I had the TOA omelet (tomato, onion, Avocado + white cheddar) and my partner had the shrimp and grits. Both were large portions and absolutely delicious! My Entree came with house potatoes that were also very scrumptious. I dipped them all in the Diablo hot sauce drizzled on the plate (see photo) and happily gobbled them down. Drip coffee was also nice and strong. Super relaxed vibe and all the breakfast classics with a southern nod. Almost ate here 2 mornings in a row... it was that tasty! read more

Ate at Lulu's for brunch randomly and couldn't have been happier about my decision. The restaurant was a little full, but they happened to have space at the bar. The bartender was amazing! Hard to find customer service like that now a days. I had the Seafood Trio Omelette. This was one of their specials for the day. I found a piece of parchment paper in my omelette, which may have just been stuck to an ingredient, but the restaurant was more than happy to correct this. I didn't mind the accidental find, but was pleasantly surprised to see the care they took to address it. Will definitely return. I called ahead for a party of 2 so that I could get a feel for their seating availability. They said that at that time they had availability so I decided to come in. When I arrived, my party was seated immediately. Shortly after being seated, we were greeted by the bartender, Aaliyah. Aaliyah was very kind, fast paced but showed us good attention. I ordered the Chicken and Biscuit and I do not regret it! The chicken was seasoned and the biscuit gravy and honey combo was . The water tasted like tap. I'm a water person so I can always tell! Brunch is excellent. I have returned twice and ordered the same dish, CORNED BEEF HASH. The poached egg is cooked to perfection! Our table also had the red velvet waffle and breakfast nachos as an appetizer. When I return I'd like to try the Atlantic Omelette (included in pictures). My first visit on a Sunday the restaurant was very loud. The music was great but it was hard to hear my friend talking to me. She was sitting directly across from me. My 2nd visit on a Saturday (made a reservation online, short wait) I brought 5 friends. We were seated in a booth and a had a great time. The music was not as loud as my first visit. The portions size fills me up! Bravo for serving delicious meals and great customer service! read more

We had breakfast at Lulu's and it was very good. We sat outside on the patio area which was very comfortable. The server was very attentive and courteous. I had the French toast with bacon and house potatoes. It was excellent. The potatoes had a good spicy kick to it. My husband had the seafood omelette which was also pretty good. We had mimosas also. Was a pleasant surprise to eat here in Shockhoe Bottom in the old Farmer's Market. Was very busy which is telling that it's a great place to eat. Had brunch and was not disappointed. Nice menu. We had a seafood omelet which was well prepared. We also had the chicken with waffle which was really fun to eat! It came with a red velvet waffle and a well seasoned chicken tender. Add the two sauces and it was a great breach item. Good coffee too which is sometimes hard to fine. The service was great with our waitress being very personable and attentive to refills. Food came out quickly and hot. The ambiance is old, raggedy run down Richmond decor but much larger inside than it appears on the outside. Yet it was comfortable for friends but not for entertaining clients. I'll be back! read more

Food was delicious and it came out extremely fast! Red velvet waffles was a hit! Could've been shared between 2 people if we would have known the portion would be so large. Added potatoes and bacon for addtl $3.50 potatoes had good amount of fresh onions and peppers. bacon was crispy and cooked Well. Corn beef hash meal was also large portions! Eggs were poached and cooked perfectly to dip potatoes and hash into. Would def recommend making a reservation for breakfast/brunch or arrive early. read more

Holy backdated Yelp review Batman! Sorry for the delay dear readers. We went here on January 1st, 2019 for brunch. Obviously we had done our fair share of partying the night before. We were staying at the Courtyard Marriott a few blocks up so a leisurely walk down to 17th street was chill. We got in and didn't really have to wait. We sat at the bar and finally got some attention and served. I think the people working had also tied one on the night before. We were all rather hungover so the lackluster service should be forgiven. The food was pretty much like everyone says. It was darn good and well plated. I had the Shrimp & Stone-Milled Pimento Grits, my wife had the Chicken & Biscuit, and my sister had the Chorizo Frittata. I don't have a pic nor can I recall what my bro had. Did I mention we were all hungover? I remember the coffee was pretty good. Whatever the case that brunch hit the spot. We all needed it and LuLu's delivered. I would go back if ever I booked myself a room in downtown RVA. Peace. read more

Great brunch resto! location is at Shockoe bottom! There was a little bit of wait but if any reservations are 10 min late, they will start sitting the next customers. The staff is friendly & attentive! We asked outside sitting but there was construction on the side we sat on. The food was served hot, the eggs were perfect, they had those nice small wedge potatoes, and the fried chicken was good. We had chicken 1/2 & red velvet waffle and Atlantic Omelette with a side of asparagus. Everything was excellent! This is located in a shopping center so plenty of parking with payment but you may have to park on the side and walk to the restaurant. read more

We came on a Sunday for brunch and this place was packed. All the tables were taken and even all the seats at the bar. Good thing we had reservations, some people were waiting and was told they had people with reservations until about 1pm. The music was loud and it was hard to have a conversation with people on your party, vibe was busy and packed. We dubbed it 'boozy brunch vibe' The hostess took us to our table all the way in the back past the restrooms. It was a lot quieter on this side and not as crowded. When we sat down our server greeted us and got our orders fairly quickly. We got the Atlantic, corned beef hash and the red velvet waffles for the kiddos. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. The food was good although our entrees could've used some toast. The kids enjoyed their food as well. The red velvet waffles cake with fresh strawberries, cream and syrup. The kids enjoyed it. The Atlantic was good too and came with lots of cheese. I took a bite from my husbands food and the mozzarella cheese kept going and I pulled my fork toward me. My corned beef hash was flavorful but I thought it had too much potatoes. By the end of our meal there was another worker walking around with a box of donuts asking if you wanted one. I thought that was nice but we were all stuffed from our brunch meal. read more

The food here was very very good! I recommend the omelettes! My waitress paid attention to all of our orders, very professional she didn't even have to write them down; impressive! Another very overrated RVA brunch spot. The waits are always 1 hour + which makes it seem like there's... a reason for the wait. I went alone and sat at the bar. I stared with a peach mimosa which was huge and very tasty. The bartender, Daria, was so fun and warm. She made the place great. I was really enjoying myself and ordered the shockoe benny. $14 is normal for a good benny, I was excited. What I received was incredibly poor quality for the price. I'll attach a pic but BOTH of the eggs on the Benny were straight up hard in the center. How do you mess up both eggs? Daria kindly sent me two more to help the situation, but I just expected the best with the rep LuLus has in Richmond. The people next to me said their waffle was "meh". Overall, very overhyped. I would have been happy spending $30 for a delicious brunch, but mine was very... gray. read more

Also, the wait time is ALWAYS a lie. If they tell you "Oh it'll be 10-15 minutes", you can count on 30 minutes. I don't really feel valued as someone who isn't a tourist and always tips well.

As you know, I love when the music in the restaurant compliments the cuisine & Lillie Pearl's playlist is top notch. During our dining time, we ordered their Smoked Wings as our appetizer. The wings were perfectly seasoned & visually appealing. However, I found them to be a bit dry & overcooked for my taste. My dining companion, however, had no problem with the wings texture. She enjoyed them very much. For my main meal, I ordered their Wild Game Burger[a mixture of Waygu Beef, Bison & Wild Boar] with a side order of Fries. The burger was cooked perfectly. It was well seasoned & juicy. The fries were delicious. They were crispy and also perfectly seasoned. I could have eaten a whole plate of just the fries alone. I ordered a cocktail to complement my meal, the Sweetest Thing. It was bright, crisp & a perfect drink for my food. As for Customer Service, Our server was courteous & attentive & knowledgeable about any menu changes we needed to be aware of. Also of note for me was that I had a reservation I needed to change to an earlier time slot & the staff was able to accommodate my request expediently. I also appreciated the fact that they informed me in advance that they were still on the Lunch menu & not dinner as my initial reservations had requested. I find that type of honesty & transparency refreshing & is definitely one of the reasons I will ALWAYS be a loyal Lillie Pearl customer.

The service was a little too leisurely for my temperament, and the tab did arrive at the table on one piece of paper when we had clearly requested that there be a separate tab for each couple, but those would be my only complaints. We all had cocktails, one from their specialty list and three that were standard issue. All were delicious and had an appropriate alcohol content for cocktails. The restaurant week menu provided a good variety of choices. Everything we had was really delicious. Portions were generous, so I could not eat more than about half of each course and not get overly full, but I assume they are sized for all but the hungriest diner. The venue's sound level was pretty high. I could have left my hearing aids at home so I wouldn't hear as much of the background noise. Noisy restaurants are pretty standard, I guess. We will definitely be returning to Alewife. It will probably take the place of Grisette in the rotation, which has been dropped because of institution of a fee for reservations canceled less than 24 hours in advance. I don't think it should be treated as a privilege to dine somewhere. The Hemingway quote at the bottom of the tab was a little weird. Not a Hemingway fan, but I guess it was an interesting thing to do.

Street parking only but wasn't hard to find. We came in being one of the first parties in. Our server explained the menu in full and all the specials in full. To drink we had the Bebot and the Monkey Business to start, both were really good. The thing we knew we needed to have to eat was the Siren's Song special which was a lazy Susan full of different dishes. The Siren's Song consisted of oysters, fried clam strips, smoked fish dip, seared tuna, pineapple fried rice, and a fried fish collar (sorry don't remember the fish, maybe Skate) with a Szechuan dry rub on it. This seriously was an amazing display. Every single dish just took it up a notch. They were also super nice to accommodate making it pescatarian because the Siren's Song usually has meat elements. The fried collar really blew me away. So meaty, fried perfectly, and the dry rub was so flavorful but not too salty or hot. Despite finishing the whole Siren's Song, we also got the Cascatelli without guanciale which was also delicious. We finished off with their caramel custard which wasn't too sweet and had a great mix of textures and flavors. Also tried one of their NA drinks and a glass of their special chilled Grenache Noir which was surprisingly good (not a big red wine fan). Overall, we absolutely loved it here. Each dish was amazing, drinks were also good, service was on point, and it was just a beautiful dinner. We will definitely be coming back.

For dinner I ordered the signature burger with the sauteed broccolini as a side, and my partner chose the chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie came out hot and smelled incredible. The signature Burger was medium, exactly as I ordered it. It was Juicy, tender, and tasted fantastic with its classic potato bun. The desserts sounded fantastic, especially the "fudgy tiramisu" as our server described it, but we were too full to try them. The GM came by our table to personally introduce themselves and ensure that our experience was excellent. I always respect that level of service and integrity. I feel remiss that I neglected to mention the patio chairs. Swing and a miss. The traffic noise on the patio can be somewhat grating, and we were approached by a panhandler/down on their luck individual as we were wrapping up the check. The Savory Grain had kind staff, wondrous food, a delicious sour ale, and even a clean restroom. I absolutely recommend it and plan to return again.

The honeynut squash wasn't what I expected and I would've preferred the balsamic glaze over the brussels instead.
