Flavorful and healthy Hawaiian fusion bowls. The sweet potato salad could've been cooked longer. Perfect for a light guilt free lunch

    Pineapple Teriyaki Cauliflower bowl

The worst meal I have had in a long time. Lulubowls is a delivery-only restaurant, offering a menu of healthy, Hawaiian/California inspired dishes with many vegetarian options. They are available on UberEats, DoorDash, Postmates, and Grubhub. Our food arrived about 90 minutes after placing the order. The Green Papaya Slaw was $7, so I expected a small portion, but what we received was about three bites worth of watery shredded papaya, tasting only of vinegar and ginger. The Avocado Mac Salad was even worse-Dry, candy sweet, and prepared with flimsy, overcooked pasta. The Sweet Potato Potstickers were at least edible, but consisted of nothing more than mealy wonton wrappers filled with mashed sweet potato. Meh. The fried cauliflower in the Pineapple Teriyaki Cauliflower Bowl was delicious, and ultimately, the only tasty component of the entire meal. The rest of the bowl was flavorless, and I hated the weirdly sweet short grain rice they use. My fiancé got some non-vegetarian items and was equally disappointed. Avoid.

Feeling particularly hungry and scrolling through my DoorDash app in search of something that would…read moretantalize my taste buds beyond the usual options of gluten-free pizza or burgers, I stumbled upon a restaurant with a bold and captivating name: "F$CK GLUTEN." The audacity of the name piqued my curiosity immediately, and I felt compelled to explore their menu in greater detail. As I delved into their offerings, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a diverse array of gluten-free salads, bowls, and desserts that were sure to make my mouth water. Among the options, I found myself particularly drawn to the gluten-free fried chicken bowl, a dish that promised a delightful experience. This bowl featured crispy ginger garlic fried chicken, which was not only gluten-free but also seemed to boast a unique blend of flavors. It came with your choice of base, allowing for a personalized touch, along with three sides that were thoughtfully curated to enhance the overall meal. The dish was finished off with a sprinkle of green onions, a dusting of sesame seeds, and a refreshing lemon wedge, all served alongside a gluten-free sauce of your choice. The base options were impressive, offering a selection that included jasmine rice, brown rice, cauliflower rice, or sweet potato noodles. Each base provided a different texture and flavor profile, allowing for a customized dining experience. The three sides you could choose from were equally enticing, featuring a range of delicious options such as sesame kale slaw, roasted sweet potatoes, corn salad, roasted broccoli, roasted mushrooms, chili-dusted pineapple, cucumber salad, pickled onions, avocado, jammy egg, and kimchi. Additionally, the restaurant offered the flexibility to add extra proteins, ranging from more fried chicken to sesame tofu, for a nominal fee of about $5 to $8, depending on your selection. You could also opt for additional sides and sauces for a minimal charge, making it easy to tailor your meal to your liking. If sesame seeds or green onions weren't your thing, the option to have them omitted was a thoughtful touch that showcased the restaurant's attention to customer preferences. To round off your meal, the restaurant provided a choice of a gluten-free dark chocolate brownie or a rice crispy treat, both of which came pre-packaged from an external vendor, ensuring a sweet conclusion to your dining experience. After careful consideration, I ultimately decided on the cucumber salad, jasmine rice, roasted broccoli, and pickled onions to complement my fried chicken bowl. The combination of flavors and textures was something I was looking forward to enjoying. The restaurant prepared my order with impressive speed, and as soon as the DoorDash delivery arrived, I could hardly contain my excitement. I eagerly dug into my bowl, and I must say, the chicken was nothing short of delicious. It was packed with flavor and had a delightful crunch, although I did find it to have a bit of a spicy kick that added an extra layer of depth to the dish. The sides were equally impressive; even the usually bland broccoli that tends to be an afterthought in many meals was transformed into a flavor-packed delight that I genuinely enjoyed. So impressed was I with the offerings from this restaurant that just a few days later, I decided to try their gluten-free steak bowl, opting for the same sides that had complemented my previous meal so well. While the steak was undoubtedly tender and bursting with flavor, I found myself a little disappointed by the serving size, especially when considering the price point. It left me wanting more, and I ultimately decided that my future orders would likely lean towards the fried chicken, which had truly won me over with its robust taste and satisfying portion. I have found a new favorite restaurant that caters specifically to those of us who need to follow a medically necessary gluten-free diet, offering tasty dishes at affordable prices. It's a refreshing change after years of settling for bland and unappealing food. I strongly suggest you try them out and say F$ck Gluten!

Such a beautiful and meaningful gesture. Once seated, drinks came out quickly, and the food followed shortly after. I was genuinely impressed with how efficient and well-organized everything was, especially given how busy it was. Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary

When I heard Heritage had received a Michelin star, I jumped at the chance to take my family. They all loved it and it was a hit from start to finish. It is definitely won't it to hear reservation. The best part, everyone on staff is truly friendly, helpful and attentive. The dining room is a little bit dark. It's a small price to pay for the amazing food from tonight's dinner. The flavors continue to be creative, inventive, and unforgettable. I never thought I'd ever enjoy passion fruit and crudo together, but I'm a fan! The sea urchin toast intimidated me but was actually a perfect little bite. And dessert was a work of art.

Knowing that it's…read moredifficult to find parking we arrived early and circled around for 10 minutes, our friends thought there will be valet but none at front. The space was very small, intimate setting but frankly just noisy as ceiling was low and everything was hard finishes. We had to talk loud to hear each other. So as servers presented the dish, they were not talking loud enough and most of time we couldn't hear what they said the dishes were, it was simply not clear. The food, was decent, I would have given 3-4 star for the food. However, half way through the course, I told our server we are worried with this little amount of 7 dishes would not fill us, I'm worried we would be hungry. And I really have to warn everyone if you come hungry with an appetite, trust my review and other reviews on here that mentioned the same thing, it's NOT enough food! We had dined at many Michelin star and fine dining restaurants, if they have a set menu we know each plate has small portion with nice presentation, but they will have many more courses to fill us up. Heritage only has 7 dishes and that's including dessert, with this price you could just have included 1-2 dishes that would be better. We went home and immediately cooked ramen to eat, that shows you how unsatisfying this meal was. Now moving onto the service, you really need to train your waiters and waitresses! Both me and my friend went to restroom separate times, my frd went down the hallway and passed by 2 servers and no one acknowledged him. If you are at any fine dining restaurants, and you left your seat the server immediately knows you are looking for a restroom and will direct you. They completely ignored him and looked sideways, he ended up walking all the way to the back of the kitchen and was confused then the kitchen staff told him you missed it, it was midway thru the hallway. Moreover, the restroom sign was white sign on a white door, it's so easy to miss it! The same thing happened to me too, I was looking for restroom and standing next to the kitchen counter, no one acknowledged me and I had to get their attention to ask if this is a restroom with me pointing at the door. You get the idea how unobvious that sign was and how bad the service was. I'm talking about one star Michelin, definitely not worth it in our opinion. Finally, that's right, I'm not done yet. The space is horribly designed with ventilation. Mid-way through the course, it was smokey in the dining area and I had tears in my eyes and had to blink multiple times. Just fyi, our table was at the far end from the kitchen. I looked far into the kitchen, they only had one window half opened in the back and all the smoke smell was going into the dining area. All of us felt it but we didn't complain as we were trying our best to enjoy our time out. When we left and stepped into the car, I smelled the smoke on my jacket, on my inside shirt (I had the jacket on the whole time), and smoke all over my hair! As soon as we got home, we had to switch out all the clothes, cooked and ate the ramen, then jumped into shower and tossed all clothes in washer to get rid of the Smokey smell. Omg this place is horribly designed without adequate verification just really bad overall. If you still decide to go after reading this, for whatever reason, just make sure you have a full lunch of the day before dinner, know not to wear nice clothes (as you will need to dry clean them immediately), and understand the time required to circle around small streets endlessly to look for parking. I honestly want to give it 1 star Yelp review out of all the negative, but the additional 1 was for the chef that the food is decent. But again, do not recommend, take your date and celebrate the special moment elsewhere!

Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

The vibe has shifted toward a more minimalist coffee cafe aesthetic, and the menu has seen a significant overhaul. The Food & Value: I was disappointed to see the old favorites go. The Chicken & Waffles, previously a staple with three wings, has switched to dark meat only (thighs) with zero substitutions. As someone who isn't a fan of dark meat, that was a major letdown. I opted for the Lemon Pancakes ($21), and while the presentation was stunning, the taste was underwhelming and the portion size was surprisingly small--my son's kids' meal actually had more food than mine. The Silver Lining: The service is still the highlight here. Our server, Jorge, was absolutely fantastic--attentive, kind, and professional.
