I am firmly Team "Battered" Onion Ring over Team "Breaded", and these absolutely delivered on the team battered. They were almost chicken-fried, -- super craggly, crispy, and deeply satisfying. These were the star of the meal, so do yourself a favor and order them - but you need a friend to share them with, its a heavy portion. They also have great lunch specials, most around eleven dollars. I got the pot roast with two sides, refried beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. After indulging in the onion rings, I was not exactly starving, so I ended up with enough leftovers for another full meal. The pot roast was nicely shredded and tender, and the gravy was rich, flavorful, and worth every calorie. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, (he's obviously on a diet!), with fried okra and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was forgettable, but everything else on his plate was solid. Service was friendly and efficient, and this place definitely fills up at lunch, so plan accordingly. A very good roadside stop, and proof that sometimes the best meals happen when you are just out running errands.

She saw the hair on the plate, apologized, and took his meal away. She never offered to replace the meal or asked if he would like something else. My husband ended up finishing some of my meal instead. When it was time to pay, we discovered they had only taken half the price of his meal off the bill. When I questioned why we were being charged for food that had multiple hairs in it, I was told they had spoken with the cook and, because my husband had eaten all but one shrimp, they were only willing to take half off. The amount they still charged us was $6.49. For us, this was never really about $6.49. It was about how the situation was handled. We have spent a lot of money at Terrell Cafe over the years and have been regular customers several times a week. When a loyal customer finds multiple hairs in a meal, I would expect the restaurant to simply apologize and remove that meal from the bill. I told them at checkout that we would not be returning. It is disappointing that a restaurant we have supported so often was willing to lose loyal customers over $6.49. I also feel our community should know how this situation was handled.
