Ok. I have never been this excited to get home and write a review. First off this is not a…read moretypical restaurant. It is a diner style kitchen with a small dining area, attached to a disc golf course, in the middle of nowhere. My wife and I walked in on a Sunday around 12:40 and the staff was cleaning up a spill. We were greeted warmly and they apologized for the mess. We ordered the fried pickles, spicy chicken sandwich and a classic burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was probably one of the top burgers I've had in this area. The fried pickle spears were also delicious. The sweet potato fries were more like wedges and were also very good. The chicken sandwich was good, but wouldn't order it again over a burger. They did offer homemade jalapeno ranch dip with the meal. It was also pretty good. The environment is farmhouse on a ranch. Beautiful ponds set up for fishing. Covered eating areas. Again, this is a disc golf course, so not sure what all is available for foodies only. Atmosphere was laid back and super chill. If this place had beer and music, it would be a hot spot. I could see the diner getting overwhelmed if a lot of people hit them at once. As for the disc golf, I did not ask a bunch of questions. I saw they had a driving range, and two disc golf courses and they are listed as both being in the top 5 courses in Texas. All in all I was super impressed with the burgers, fries, and fried pickles. The atmosphere is laid back, kitchen is quick and friendly. Nothing fancy, but I think that's what they are going for. Will definitely come back to check out the golf, and of course eat while I'm out there. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food.

Crispy armor on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside -- not a rubbery tail in sight. And then there's Ciro. The man refuses to sit still. He's at the register, flipping fish, and bringing plates to your table -- all side-by-side with his crew like it's just another Tuesday. No high perch, no clipboard, nope. The boss sweats with the team, and you can taste that energy in every bite. Hidden gem? More like a delicious little secret hiding in plain sight off I-30.

Sounds good, right? What I got was shrimp drowned in melted butter with a tablespoon of rice tossed in, and two ends cut off a dinner roll. There was no seasoning. No lemon. No garlic. And definitely no toast. I used those little dinner roll ends to soak up some of the cup of butter it was swimming in but they made no difference. This was just lazy. I ate the overcooked shrimp because I could pull it out of its grease bath, but the rest could not be rescued from the oil spill. I would have tried if the clipped ends of the dinner roll had been toasted. The rice was a goner before I could attempt a save. A cup of melted butter is NOT a sauce, Ciro's! Do better. I certainly won't ever order this again.

For this order I was shorted two livers, and the 10 livers I received were so tiny they didn't even cover the bottom of the box. I called to explain I had received only 10 livers, and they were tiny. I was rudely told that there were 12 livers and had they been small, I would have been given extra but was not. The person I spoke to became more argumentative and rude as I tried to explain my situation. I was appalled at his arrogance and unwillingness to even listen to me. The treatment I received was totally uncalled for, and I will never place and order at Julio's again.
