I politely let the server know, expecting the standard "Oops, we'll fix that." Instead, I got hit with the customer service equivalent of a UFC uppercut: "Yeah, that's what you said." After explaining again that I specifically said ONLY, I was then informed they'd have to charge me for an entirely new burrito if they corrected it. Over lettuce and tomato. Not because I ate the whole thing. Not because I changed my mind halfway through. Simply because their version of quality control is apparently "good luck everybody." The best part? Rather than fixing the burrito, offering literally any solution, or attempting basic conflict resolution, they just let me walk out. Imagine losing a customer over shredded lettuce. That's commitment to the principle. I didn't even get to try the actual food, although based on the chips and salsa, I'm not sure I missed a life-changing culinary experience. To be fair, I wasn't rude, I wasn't demanding, and I fully understand mistakes happen in restaurants. But if your first response to a simple correction is "pay for another one," then maybe the problem isn't the burrito.
