Went on a Friday night for a bday party.we had 3 large round tables plus a table for 2. We arrived at 7 and bday girl at 7:30pm. Beautiful interior, nice stage and dance floor. It took a long time for our server to get all the orders Apps came out at 9pm just as dance lesson was starting.....so eat? Or learn dance (main reason for coming). The dance instructor was a cutie.. We did a bit of both but couldn't enjoy either fully. Main course came out at 10pm. I had the vegan gluten free salad to start and cauliflower dish for main salad was ok but main was quite tasty. We got our shots but then left. My friend said dessert was served at 11:15pm, after I had gotten home! Our server Dave was friendly, helpful and sweet but it would have been good to give him a helper so we could have eaten on time. The live band and singer were great as was the DJ. Would try it again on a smaller scale with ordering food early.

Went for the drag show brunch with girl friends. Overall was a fun time and I would recommend it as a different experience! The food was really not great. I got the avocado tofu toast, which was probably the best out of the bunch. There was just a hint of avocado smeared on the toast. My friends said the scrambled eggs were watery and like cheese curds. Comes with a mimosa, coffee and corn bread to start. The bill was about $70 before tax. The show was fun but they do expect you to tip when they dance around the audience - bring some $5 bills! There were 3 performers who each did about 3 dances.

The drag show brunch was really fun! It comes with brunch of your choice, mimosa, and drag show which contained about 6-7 performances. The host, DJ and performers were great! They were very entertaining and funny the entire show. My whole group had a great time. The food was decent, it met my expectations considering it wasn't high to begin with. Their brunch menu is pretty big as well, lots of options to pick from. You can add another bottle of champagne & OG pitcher for $45. The brunch was about $80 per person. A bit pricey but definitely worth the experience.

Bought tickets for a Saturday night special event with a Cuban band and added on a prix fixe menu. I couldn't believe the experience I got...from the talented Cuban performers, salsa crash courses, Latin music & energetic dance floor, and good food ALL IN ONE NIGHT!! I felt like I was transported to another country with the vibes here. I would highly recommend this for a fun night out or a special birthday occasion.

Lula Lounge is such a wonderful spot. We went for the preset dinner. The service was absolutely excellent. The food was so delicious. One thing to know is that the place does get packed. It's a popular spot for celebrations and there were many birthdays and Anniversaries being celebrated that night. After dinner, there is a salsa lesson. It is very difficult to see the stage because so many people are participating. But it is very fun. There is such a unique combination of ages and so many people who are serious dancers mixed in with total beginners. I will definitely go again

I had only ever been here to go salsa dancing before the pandemic. When I heard they were doing dinner and listen to the band play I was really excited. I really love the decor and the vibe of the place. Our server was really friendly however the kitchen was super slow. Dinner took over two hours to finish. However we were listening to the band and the band was amazing. We went on a Saturday night and they were so lively and fun. It was so nice to hear live music. I just wish the band was at the same volume level as the music that played in between the bands sets. The person who is doing the levels for the band had them blowing my eardrums off. We got the prefix menu. The tortillas were delicious their salsa had a nice spiciness to it and their guacamole was tasty. We also had a salad that was fine but nothing to write home about. I got the taco that had pork and pineapple in it and it was so delicious. I will go back and get that again. For dessert we got the three milk cake. It was yummy but again nothing mine blowing that I'm gonna fantasize about. If you love Latin music and really want to hear a live band it's a fantastic spot to go. However if you are nervous around people not wearing their masks, this might not be for you. They did remind us that if we were standing up we should be putting on our masks but everybody who stood up to dance was either table didn't put masks on and no one was trying to enforce them to put them on. So that made us a little bit uncomfortable.

Back in the day, there was a crazy club up north at Keele and 7 called 'Latin Fever,' which was the place AKA the 'wall of middle aged guys' who had possessed a few choice salsa moves that were an excuse to be gropey. Of course while this predated the #metoo movement I observed some of this at Lula Lounge during the crazy awesome mix of live and DJ bands on the dance floor. We came yesterday for a friend's milestone birthday. The large group we were a part of had options as part of the price fixe menu, including appy, main and dessert with drinks extra. Including admission the cost was between $40 and $50 each plus an extra 18% mandatory tip added to the bill. I opted for the dip trio app and salmon. The trio was shareable and had a chance to split it with the calamari rings by my wife. The rings were standard frozen fare, the dips we're good but the chips were cardboard in texture the salmon was a bit dried out (maybe also frozen?) With a side of couscous and veg. The steak ordered for an extra $10.00 was supposed to be medium well, but it seemed to be a strip of leather belt and very chewy. For dessert, the Tres Leche was on the sweet side and could not be finished. My wife ordered the chocolate cappuccino cake which seemed to be the better option. The beer and wine options were plentiful, and reasonably priced. What stood out was the service. We had the private room to ourselves.the staff were caring, fun and attentive. They have the birthday boy a free drink and a CD (they still make those?) and were full of energy andadr for a great evening. Afterward the awesome Jazz band, there was a dance lesson and then a mix of live salsa and DJ which caused the dance floor to erupt. So, for $150.00 for drinks, food and tip for 2, a pretty good time that you should experience at least once. A good alternative to the now defunct Latin Fever! -Zuk

Dip Trio, guacamole, salsa, refried beans tortilla and plantain chips

I went to Lula Lounge with a group of friends to watch a friend perform in a tribute show to Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross. It was our first time here, far away from home. The venue was very nice and spacious, with a high ceiling and a large dance floor in the middle, although there were tables and chairs on it this evening. There was raised seating/dining along either side of the dance floor and a large bar closer to the entrance. It definitely had a lounge feel to it. Our server was very friendly and attentive, assisting us with choosing a wine and some apps. We ended up with a couple of bottles of wine, chicken wings, calamari, and a trio of dips with tortilla chips. The menu definitely had Latin influences. The food was okay but nothing stood out. The chicken wings were tossed in a Cajun dry rub and served with sour cream on the side. The calamari was lightly dusted and fried, with house-made tartar sauce on the side. Bland. The dips, consisting of guacamole, salsa, and refried beans, was okay but the chips were too wide to fit into the portion cups for dipping. We finished the chips but not the dips. Based on these dishes, I'm not sure if I would order dinner here. The show that we came to see was fantastic, with some outstanding performances, and the audience, like us, was really into it! Great job, Quisha and friends! There was a burlesque show scheduled afterwards that we could have stayed for without an additional cover charge but we would have had to move to another table. We'll be back for more shows. Maybe we'll eat before...

This IS the go to place for live music venue for jazz, salsa, reggae, funk.... We had dinner followed by great salsa band. The floors were quickly filled with people dancing the night away. I highly recommend anyone visit Toronto for the first time. You will not be disappointed. Btw they have good food too. Checked out their website for weekly events.

Meh, I have had better... at KFC!

NEVER book a booth here!! I came here for a friend's birthday. We booked a booth for this occasion. While I enjoyed their company the whole booth experience was absolutely unsatisfactory. The booth was uncomfortable and too tiny for us. Menu had a $50 mix and match 3-course meal and you have to order the whole thing. Food quality was mediocre at best (see attached pics) and surely not worth the money. Steak was dry and tasted like it was microwaved. Chicken wings tasted like KFC but without the herbs and spices. To make matters worse they made us pay cover charge for 2 people who did not show up even though the booth was barely fitting us and if those 2 people showed up they would have had no place to sit! I absolutely do not recommend that you book a booth at this lounge. Just drink and dance.

If you really like Latin music and dancing to Latin music, or least a good sport and wanna learn, then this place is for you! We bought the package that included the dinner, dance lessons and band. I was very full at the end. food was great and the dance lessons and band were great too! The dance lessons is a group dance- a lady on the stage teaches the crowd on the dance floor. Before the live band went on, the DJ played a mix of reggaeton and other dance music. Very lively!! We went for a bachelorette and we all had a great time!

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night with a group, for a birthday celebration. We made reservation for the $59 package with 3 courses and salsa lesson. Food was mediocre, I enjoyed the market fish the most (salmon). I liked the live band, and we learned some basic moves which was cool. After the band it turned into a club. I'm not into clubbing so we left shortly after. Was a new experience. It's a very busy place, I recommend making reservation!

All the staff are so friendly - from the waitstaff to the chefs / owners and kitchen staff, everyone in the restaurant seems to exhibit the Latin American hospitality and friendliness. The place feels homey, cozy, and festive with the music in the background (from the TV screen on the wall), and big photos depicting different places in Colombia along the wall. Ambience is very laid-back and casual, with amazing food that tastes homemade and authentic. It took a while for the food to cook and come out (about 40 minutes) - mostly because of the Cazuela de Mariscos (seafood soup) that took the longest to cook. It was also during a very busy time on a weekend. They seemed to have a constant flow of incoming catering and take-out orders (a good sign), and the restaurant itself was packed. All / most mains come with coconut rice, salad, and tostones (fried plantains). As for drinks, you can order freshly squeezed juices in either water or milk. We ordered the fresh strawberry & blackberry juice in water, as the one in milk would make it more like a smoothie. Each juice order comes in a jug (whether it be a small or large jug). This came as a surprise to us - really good value for such a large volume of juice ($6 for a whole "small" jug that turned out to be quite big, enough to refill each glass a few times for 2 people). The juice itself tasted fresh, natural, and refreshing. Dishes that we tried: 1) Filete de Tilapia con Camarones (grilled tilapia fish fillet & shrimps with coconut rice, plantain, and salad) - Big pieces of fish and lots of small shrimps, in a very delectable sauce. 2) Arroz Marinero (seafood rice with plantain & salad) - Loved this dish. The rice was a bit soupy which I liked. It was a bit like a soupy paella (including the rice) - very delicious and packed with various kinds of seafood. 3) Cazuela de Mariscos (seafood soup with coconut rice, plantain, and salad) - Very creamy soup, like a chowder. I'm not a big fan of chowders / cream-based soups in general, but others liked it and said this was good. 4) SIDE: Ensalada (House Salad) 5) Arepa de Chocolo con Queso (sweet corn dough with cheese) All of the main dishes were EXCELLENT - loved the mixed seafood (fish fillet, shrimps, octopus, squid, etc.). There was so much seafood in every dish. In most places, you get more carbs / rice compared to the protein. Here, it was the opposite. The coconut rice was a bit dry but it's decent - good to soak up the sauces of the main dishes. The salad is just shredded cabbage and carrot with big sliced tomato. I was a big fan of the salad dressing (some creamy mayo-like dressing), but luckily the dressing was only at the top of the salad (the bottom part of the salad remained fresh and crunchy, which I liked). We ordered the Arepa de Chocolo con Queso for to go. It was different than the Venezuelan arepa that I'm used to. The Colombian arepa seemed to be sweeter and more buttery. It probably would've been better if it was eaten right after it was freshly made, and while it was still warm. There was a lot of cheese in the arepa, giving it a nice salty and savoury contrast to the sweet corn dough. After you're done the meal, you go up to the counter to pay (instead of having the bill brought to your table). Great food overall - I would not hesitate to come back.

This is such a restaurant. But for the greater good, and because it totally deserves to be hyped up, I'm gonna share this gem with you! Granted, I have only been here once and I had never had Nicaraguan food before but everything this restaurant served up from drinks to appetizers to mains to dessert was unbelievable. It may look like nothing special on paper and even look understated on the plate but once it's in your mouth your tastebuds are in for a ride! Let me explain a bit more...the "tacos" look like a sundae collided with a salad on the plate but when you break it up and try it the crunch and the sweet and the sour just works like magic! I ordered the Churrasco but swapped out the mashed potato with rice and beans - how the Nicaraguans eat it I was told - and boy was I glad I listened! I have never downed so much rice and beans so quickly in my life; normally I avoid them so that's testament to how tasty it was. 3 out of all 3 of the desserts were delicious but the standout favourite among my party was surprisingly the cheesecake, so don't knock it till you try it. The atmosphere is lively and colourful, and the service was great too! That's it; I think I've shared enough - you're welcome

I don't recall exactly which dishes we ordered that day; however, we were super full! The portions of their meals are huge. All the things on the plate were tasty. There were many different ingredients on the plate: plantain, eggs, chorizo, fried pork belly, ground beef, avocado, rice, beans, etc. A very good deal. We might have seemed too unfamiliar with the food, because I didn't even know how to eat Empanadas. After I ordered an Empanada and let the servers in the restaurant watch me eat it awkwardly, a server who I guessed might be the owner treated us to two pastries -- one looked like a ball, and the other was flat bread. I looked them up by AI, and they should be Buñuelo and Almojábana, two cheese pastries from Colombia. I hope it's appropriate, but Buñuelo may be the most delicious cheese bread I've ever had -- it's tastier than the main dishes . I think it's a beautiful local business. There is limited street parking in front of the restaurant, but there is a paid Green P parking garage right across the street. The ambiance of the restaurant was casual, with one large-screen TV on the wall and up-beat, energetic Latin American music in the background. Service was very friendly. They offered free complimentary Dominican coffee as soon as you sit down. Menu was available in both scannable QR code and printed format. The food was good, but be prepared to wait a very loooong time for it to come out. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we were there, but it took almost 1.5 hours for our food to be ready. They said the main chef wasn't there on that day, so the chef filling in was a bit slow. Tasty food was (somewhat) worth the wait, though. Unfortunately some of the dishes that we wanted weren't available that day (Mofongo Marinero and Filete de Pescado), so we had to choose other items from the menu. They worked out fine. Dishes review: 1) Ceviche - On the menu, this was supposed to contain haddock fish, shrimps, and scallops. But when it came out, it only consisted of fish and shrimps - which was totally ok for me because they gave a LOT of the white fish (haddock) which I really liked. The kitchen seemed to be out of seafood (scallops, mussels, etc.) other than shrimps, because the Mofongo Marinero (mixed seafood) that we wanted to order also wasn't available. The ceviche tasted fresh and I liked the sour tanginess from the citrus juices. It came with a good amount of tostones (fried green plantains). 2) Mofongo de Camarones - The mofongo here was very good. The Puerto Rican version of mofongo usually contains chicharron mixed with the mashed green plantains by default, but here, the mofongo contained pieces of shrimps (without chicharron) - so I was glad. Mofongo was flavourful even without the sauce, although they served the signature mofongo garlic-infused sauce on the side. It was topped with a skewer of 4 shrimps. 3) Pescado Frito a la Samana - Since the grilled fish that we wanted wasn't available, we settled for this substitute dish. It was a fried whole red snapper with a rich coconut-based sauce made of coconut cream, garlic, peppers, and onions, served with moro de guandules (traditional Dominican rice with pigeon peas), tostones (fried green plantains), and garden salad. We asked for the coconut sauce on the side. The fish was pretty good without being oily after being fried, and I really liked the garden salad that it came with (light and fresh). As a big fan of rice & beans in general, I loved the moro de guandules (traditional Dominican rice with pigeon peas). 4) Camarones al Ajillo (shrimps in garlic butter sauce), served with white rice and tostones - The shrimps were okay and I liked the garlic taste, but the sauce was too buttery for me. This dish was just so-and-so, especially since it came with just white rice and tostones without any salad. We ordered 2 extra green salad to make up for the lack of veggies in this dish.

Try not ti order the food eat it in the restaurant instead. The waitress is great and very sweet, she always makes sure the food and ambience is up to par. The music is very enjoyable. I only started going there a lot these last few months. The staff is small but officient the three of them work like a well oiled machine, if you are looking for something quick this is the place to be. HOWEVER the reason I am leaving such a poor rating is because the washroom NEVER works it is always out of survive and when it does it smells if not bad awful. The blue dye on the paper used on the plates and the cabbage comes off on the food that can't be safe. Not only that but most of the time when you make a complaint or a comment nothing changes. The boss is great but has not been in for about 2 months and although he's a great guy but we can really tell how much more relaxed the staff is and sometimes how much better they work together without him there... anyways the food is pretty good do as you please with this information.
