Okay. I have had a lot of BBQ. All around Tulsa and all over the country. This is hands down the best I've had. Lemme just tell you why. 1) Their meats are always juicy, never dried out. 2) The brisket it moist and jam packed with flavor. 3) Their BBQ sauce is bomb. 4) The baked beans... omg. They add pulled pork pieces to them... need I say more? 5) Their potato salad is unique and delicious. 6) The prices are incredible. You can feed yourself or the whole family affordably here. 7) They are always so kind. When they were brand new, about 15 people from our company went at lunch time, and they gave us a bunch of sausage to try that they were thinking of adding to the menu. Fantastic! We've lived here for over two years and FINALLY got here before food ran out! (Mostly my fault because we try to go at 6 every time) The place is small but it seems that most people order to go so it works out well. There was a line out the door when we arrived and one person at the counter taking orders, he kept the line moving quick and was very polite. He offered his favorites and was patient while we searched the menu as first time customers. We decided on a baked potato with chicken, ribs, and a two meat combo with brisket and chicken. (Mac and cheese was a little dry but the potato salad was great!) This chicken potato has the spud truck beat by a mile! So much flavor and the perfect amount of...everything. The combo was also good but the RIBS. I can see now why you've got to get there early. Everything we had was cooked to perfection! I'd go back just for the ribs. And finally, we got to meet the owner on our way out and he's just as awesome as the food. The best barbecue in the Tulsa area. The brisket was a thick cut and juicy. The ribs were tender, falling off the bone and smoky. We got the Hog's Trough which has a half pound of all their meats, which were all great. Service was fast and friendly. But, get there early. Been going to Luke's a little over 2 yrs and I will NOT go anywhere else! He is by FAR the BEST bbq place to eat! The only thing I hate about Luke's is he sells out way too early and in my humble opinion can't or won't keep up so he doesn't sell out so early. Just the other day we ended up going to smokin joes (which I haven't been there in ages) to try it again and again I'll NEVER go back again!!! NOBODY CAN COME ANYWHERE NEAR TO LUKE'S BBQ!!! Great bbq restraint / butcher shop combination. I wanted a two meat plate with brisket and turkey but they were out of turkey so I got brisket and pulled pork. Both were heart. The sides I had, cole slaw and potato salad were good, especially the potato salad. I hope to come back soon and try to get the turkey again! read more

several weeks ago i went and thought that i needed some good BBQ ribs. my first thought was 'well theirs only one in town' but then my mom, god bless her and the transit lady who mentioned it to her, that their was actually another one that they swear by. That was Lukes. so up we went and made a order their, not only where the ribs fantastic but the place had a good vibe to it and when mom wanted to see if they had any chopped beef they happily obliged! I drive past Luke's every morning when the smoker is up and running. I knew it was good if that was all I knew about Luke's. But I have several friends and neighbors that rave about it and I finely got back their way during lunch to try it. The interior was a nicely decorated, not bare but not over done for the space. They have an area with items for sale including sauce. It has a small seating area so you are able to dine in if you prefer. Fast and very friendly service and while waiting on a to go order or after your meal you can check out what Meat's & More has to offer to fire up your own grill or smoker. I usually get a 2-meat combo when I try a new BBQ joint but they just rolled out this new loaded BBQ Mac & Cheese. I had to try it. It did not disappoint, every bite better than the last. We got it with the brisket on top which was super tender and juicy. The Mac was creamy perfection and the red onion gave it just the right crunch to finish it off. Needless to say my wife and I were blown away. Prices are very competitive and from what I saw while waiting on my to go order (and my Mac & Cheese order) the portions are ample! So take it from me...don't torture yourself and just smell the smoke, go in and grab some up! read more

We love Luke's. Something for the whole family unless the family is Vegetarian. If they were Vegetarian, I am sure that the folks at Luke's would go out of their way to try and find something for them. I have had the ribs, sliced beef, chopped beef, pulled pork, burnt ends, bologna, sausages, potato salad, baked beans, and baked potatoes. It has all been spot on. The only problem I have is figuring out which is better, the people or the BBQ, finally coming to the resolution that they are both great! If I had to pick one of the meats, I would start with ribs or sliced beef. The fries came out hot and had been dusted with some seasoning, they were great! read more

BEST. BBQ. EVER. I live in Shawnee, but I've been spending a lot of time at my parents house in BA due to COVID. Neither me, nor my parents have ever heard of Luke's. But, I found it by accident looking for restaurants in Coweta (I think Luke's is in BA, but right on the line). I have to say... It is quite literally the best BBQ I have ever had!!! Growing up in BA, Wild Bill's was a favorite, but they closed probably at least 10 years ago. But, Luke's makes it (and Shawnee original Van's, plus my favorite, OKC's Earl's) taste like gas station BBQ by comparison. Van's and Earl's are great, but Luke's is immeasurably better! I got ribs and bologna, but also tried my dad's pulled pork. The ribs were so moist and tender, I was literally able to get the meat off the bone by picking it up and giving it a little shake! They were best ribs I've ever tried and were big, flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious! The bologna was good, but that's one that's hard to screw up, it tastes about the same anywhere. My dad's pulled pork was also the best I've ever had! It wasn't dry like a lot of places, it was moist, tender and delicious! Also, they gave my dad so much we were able to take it home and make 4 sandwiches a couple days later. And they were the best pulled pork sandwiches ever! Their fries were really good, but not homemade or anything. Their baked beans were really good, just not quite as good as the ones I make at home or the ones Wild Bill's used to have. But, they were better than most places' "baked beans." In my opinion, baked beans need some sautéed onions, molasses, brown sugar, and usually a touch of ketchup and mustard. Most places are usually pinto beans with minimal flavoring. I didn't try their potato salad as it was mayo/ranch based. Personally, I want mustard potato salad or no potato salad. But, mayo potato salad seems common at BBQ places, so this really isn't a complaint. The only thing I didn't like was there coleslaw. It wasn't gross, I just personally didn't like it. The ONLY complaint I have is their hours! They're only open until 6PM. So, if you work until 5-5:30 or later, it's kind of hard to make it for dinner, especially if you work/live in West BA (my parents live off S Elm and it's about a 10 min drive). However, this is a VERY small (I think 4-5 tables) and family run place, so I understand and am not willing to lower the rating because of this, especially considering how exceptionally good it was! I take that make... I have one more complaint... It's going to be difficult going back to Van's, or any other BBQ place now! It really is exceptional BBQ! *** I would recommend you call ahead (especially closer to closing time) because, while open til 6PM, it's actually "open til 6PM or we sell out."
