Rib Crib is the best barbecue in town. Smoked chicken and ribs are the best. Actually chicken fried chicken is great too!!

I really wanted to give Rib Crib the benefit of the doubt, but my recent visit was a huge disappointment. I stopped in and was told I had to wait a full 30 minutes for a fresh batch of brisket to come out. I figured a half-hour wait meant I'd be rewarded with something hot, juicy, and tender straight off the smoker. Unfortunately, what I got was easily the driest brisket I've ever seen--let alone tried to eat. It was completely sapped of moisture, tough, and practically crumbled into dust on the plate. Waiting 30 minutes for fresh meat is completely fine if the quality matches the wait, but serving something this overcooked and dry to a customer is unacceptable. Sadly, I won't be rushing back anytime soon. Waitress was nice. Also paid for ribs, I got less ribs than I paid for. read more

We had RibCrib delivered tonight via Grubhub. Both orders were for Chicken Fried Steak, ordered directly off the website. On the website, the menu said that the entree came with mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. The entree also came with two sides, which I selected beans and mac & cheese. Upon delivery, which I never expect to be perfect because of the risks associated with transporting food, I noticed that food was still relatively warm; however, the entrees were slightly smashed in their styrofoam containers but the sides were not impacted. We received plenty of utensils and napkins. However, we did not receive the mashed potatoes and okra that was stated on the menu. It appears that they are not staples to the meal but rather options, but it was not exactly stated that way on the order menu. Something to be mindful of when ordering online. The entree and the beans were very tasty, but the mac & cheese didn't have much flavor to it. In the end, I would have to say that food quality and omitted items significantly impacted the overall value of the meal including delivery costs. We usually love this place. We went on Thursday evening. We waited for over 20 minutes for our food. The waiter walked by several times and never said anything. We finally flagged him down and asked about our order. He rudely replied that their was a large table that just went in ahead of us. We finally received our food. We waited forever for the check. My husband asked another waiter to get ours. We needed to go but he never came around. His name was Cade. We finally went to the front and he ran to us with the machine but never showed us a ticket. We paid and left very frustrated. We had just been there the week before and it was wonderful. We paid him a tip but only because he was staring at me when I put my card in the machine. I am usually not a big fan of chain restaurants but since we live nearby decided to stop in RibCrib for dinner. My wife wanted to have BBQ for dinner and we were planning on going to another BBQ restaurant on the Rose district. We drove past RibCrib and decided to give it a try. The service was okay, somewhat slow especially for a Monday night and it wasn't very busy. We decided to sit outside so maybe it was the reason why we didn't get much attention from the waitress. We ordered our food and again it took sometime for it to be ready. Not a huge deal, the staff was nice and smiling so it made up for it. The main reason for the deduction in two stars is the food. The baby back ribs were okay, but likely over cooked and a bit too dry. The cole slaw didn't taste fresh at all and was somewhat blend in taste. Overall it's a decent place but there are better BBQ joints close by that I would rather go to. read more

We were looking for a restaurant for 8 on a Friday night and everywhere was a 2 hour wait, so we went to RibCrib. They sat us right away, we had good service and great food. One of our group got a salad and it was huge. The kids liked it and we will certainly return. Was in the mood for BBQ tonight and pulled into Billy Rays to find them closed on Mondays, so off I roam in pursuit of some good que! Hadn't been to Rib Crib in a while and thought I would give it a try. First time to visit this location and was greeted promptly as I walked in. I ordered the Rib & Chicken Dinner which came with two sides, I chose the fried okra and sweet and smoky beans. My order arrived very quickly and my first impression was how small the serving seemed to be. Three small ribs and four slices of smoked chicken. My first bite was the okra and I could immediately tell it had been sitting for a while as the breading was not crispy as you would expect. The ribs while small were very tender and tasty. The chicken was very good as well. Unfortunately it seemed that all my items were closer to room temperature. Should have asked them to throw my plate in the microwave just to warm it up. Instead of the potato salad and coleslaw we got two orders of coleslaw and no potato salad. This has happened in the past recently. I spoke to the manager about this and told her I did not want any credit or replacement just to train her people better. She said they knew better and apologized but didn't offer any other excuse. The Mac and Cheese was very good and creamy. My brother got the kids meat platter and he chose pulled pork. It was bigger then the adult pulled pork sandwich! When we were waiting for our food there were wiki sticks and it was fun to play tic tac toe with my brother. For dessert the kids meal includes a sundae, Oreo, or applesauce. Not a fan of chain restaurants. This is the first chain type that I have visited in awhile. We were in a hurry and everything else was packed. The service was not great at all. Our waitress was not having what I will politely call a "good day". She took our orders and never really returned. Our meals were brought out by another person and we had to ask other passing servers for refills and finally asked someone to find our waitress so she could give us the check. Her eyes rolled so far back in her head at the temerity of us bothering her to give us our check, she must have been reading something written on the back of her skull. This location is very nice. The atmosphere gives off a bar and grill vibe and the restaurant is very clean. They also have fairly decent prices and a good menu selection. The smoked chicken is my go-to. It's good in a sandwich, baked potato, or by itself. I recommend eating it with the Carolina sauce. SO GOOD! Large portion sizes at RibCrib. While the meat tends to be on the dry side they have good sauces to mediate the two between eachother.

Second time ordering to-go here and they forgot half of our order AGAIN. We had to go all the way back to the restaurant to get the other half. And it took forever to get! This is a regular dining place for us. I know the rib connoisseurs will take issue with their ribs, but we prefer the moistness and tenderness of their 'fall off the bone' style.
