Hands down the best Thai place I have ordered take out from. Ordered twice from here and both times were amazing! Everything we had was tasty and the portion sizes were really generous. We ordered the wings, scallion pancakes, pad Thai, and pad sew yew. Just here in South Kingstown visiting, but going to have to come back here to order from this place again. Can't get enough of their food. read more

This place has improved a lot since I last came here. It's a "seat yourself" more of a restaurant. It's small and everyone's friendly. The placemats are Sports Trivia which I was playing while waiting for my food. The fresh rolls are amazingly fresh and they give you different meat choices to go with it!! I got the pad mama kee mao which was impeccable and my boyfriend got the hot basil pad Thai. Our plates were loaded with food and we have leftovers for the rest of the week! Great restaurant and will come back again!! read more

Our favorite Thai food! I love the mango curry - not too spicy but so flavorful. Have never had anything but wonderful meals here!

Great food! First time here & we'll be back when we are back in town. Appetizers are incredible - had the spring rolls and the Fresh Rolls. Both very, very good! If you order the Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao), consider sharing, as portions are HUGE! We ordered 3 versions of Pad Kee Mao - pork, chicken & duck. All were very flavorful. Ordered the duck as "2 star spicy" & would order at least 3 star next time - needed a bit more "kick" for my taste. read more

Had to have my tire fixed while out running errands, while I waited for the car to be repaired I asked about this restaurant and the service manager said it was very good so I decided to give it a try. Needless to say I was more than pleased with the meal, how fresh it was,and how fast I was served. The price was more than reasonable I guarantee I'll be back read more

Ordered delivery in Uber eats and being from out of town this was a decent place. We got panang curry, fresh spring rolls, and Tom kha soup. Everything was delicious! We felt that the curry was a little too sweet however, everything was very flavorful and fresh. Highly recommend. read more

This is a perfect spot for date night. It's small, intimate and casual. We walked right in and got a table. The servers were great and the food was too. We had a stir fry with crab and a butternut curry with duck. Both were great. We also had Iced Thai Tea, which we all know is delicious. We will be back soon! Oh lots of people getting takeout! So definitely a great option for that night you don't want to cook! read more

Excellent drunken noodle!! Prompt service. Recommend for all ages. Reasonable prices for good portions. Pleasant atmosphere. Overall great lunch experience. read more

Loved the food & loved the staff! I had the chicken fried rice, won ton soup & fresh shrimp rolls. Great place to dine!

Did a take out with them, no issues, order was ready when they said it would be ready. Enjoyed their curry dishes, they have different kinds of curry which is interesting, tried two different kinds, both were good!! read more

I was in the mood for something different. I looked at the reviews and decided to have dinner there. I ordered the Drunken Noodle with duck and fresh rolls with peanut sauce as an appetizer. The rolls were excellent as was the Drunken Noodle. I had not had duck that good since I was in Paris. The place is small 10 tables total. Everything thing was phenomenal, food, service, and ambiance top notch. I will be back for more! read more

What is wrong with asian food in South County? Everything is wrong with Luk Thai. I have eaten there three times in five years. Each time I assumed that the owners would finally "get it." They haven't got a clue. My pad Thai was a sticky mess of rice noodles and a sticky, salty bottled sauce. No fresh cucumber slices, no ground peanuts, no fresh tomatoes, no fresh bean sprouts, no egg, no home made sauce. If the locals choose to eat there, and think that this worst kind of Thai food is OK, ...? They must also like canned ravioli from Chef Boyardee. The latter is better than Luk Thai. Go to a Thai restaurant in South County Commons for a better version. Not wonderful, but a whole lot better than this total slop. read more

SUPER impressed with this little hole in the wall. Very cute and clean inside and a homey kind of atmosphere. We were seated quickly and our server came right over. Ordered two different kinds of soups and two curries and loved them both! I had plenty left over in my portion and would certainly come back here. We typically frequent this area in the summer time but would come back if in the area again soon! Don't forget- it's BYOB here so bring you wine! Try the shrimp mango curry and the wonton soup! Both had tons of flavors :) read more

One of the best little Thai places I have visited in a while! Really delicious. To start, we had the edamame, two different starter salads (house and spicy), and fresh vegetable rolls (we were hungry!). Everything was so tasty, fresh, and had multiple sauce options to pique every taste bud's interest. I thoroughly enjoyed the spice level on certain items like the spicy vegetable salad. It was almost a tangy hot (but not mouth burning) sensation. For dinner we had chicken pad Thai and vegetable tofu pad Thai. Both were made very well and had a good amount of the extras (baby corn, peppers, carrots, herbs, etc.) infused in an almost sweet maple-like flavor to the peanut sauce. Even the little flower shapes they made out of carrots made this meal feel extra special. Side note, they made the paper top portion of the straw in our drinks into a paper flower. So adorable. The service was great, friendly waitress, not a long wait for food. The place was pretty empty though for a Friday night at 6:30-7:30. But this won't deter us from becoming frequent visitors of this conveniently located (downtown Wakefield) beautifully decorated Thai restaurant. Don't forget to take some time to admire their almost hand-made looking menus - very pretty. Overall, Luk Thai warmed my taste buds, satiated my hunger, and left us feeling honored to stumble into a little gem that truly takes detailed time to make this dining experience one of a kind. read more

The best Thai food around. We frequent Luk Thai pretty much weekly, whether it be take out or eat in. The atmosphere is cozy, service is always great. We love the BYOB. We brought our friend once who had just visited Thailand and he said the Green Papaya salad was exactly like in Thailand. Highly recommend Luk Thai. read more

Luk Thai - Amazing Mango Curry. Spicy and oh so good. - Thai Near Me - Wakefield, Rhode Island

The food is great. I especially like the crab rolls. Pad Thai is great. Staff is great as well

My favorite restaurant in South County! While this place has a very small interior, the food is amazing! My favorite meal (by far) is the chicken pad thai! Ive tried this dish at several other restaurants and no one else compares. I also love the pad see ew as well as the "fresh rolls", which are the classic thai rice paper rolls. The dine-in service is often a little slow since theres usually only 1 waitress, but luckily the restaurant is BYOB! read more

Delicious! Ordered spring rolls, tom yum goong, beef salad, basil pork, duck choo chee, chicken mango curry, wide rice noodle with pork. Need extra rice for the gravy from the entrees. It's just right - not thick. Soup was ok. Spring rolls - 6 minis were ok. Salad - lots of flavor, tender beef. Service was very attentive & friendly. read more

We ate at Luk Thai on a whim. We had attentive service and she was very friendly. We both ordered a soup and split a Massaman curry dish. It was plenty of food as the main dish was more than enough to share. the spring roles were cooked perfectly and were a nice small size so each bite was the perfect amount to chew. The menue has all of your standard dishes & the prices are very reasonable. There are also more 'traditional' seeming dishes for the more adventurous types that have a broader pallet than I do for Asian fish type meals. If you are in Wakefield looking for a good Thai meal I would suggest giving Luk a try. read more

My first visit after the changeover from Thai Pepper was disappointing. But, on a second try just last week, I was happy to find it improved again. The service here is extremely nice, and impossibly slow. The dishes come out of the kitchen one at a time, and certainly not at a pace you might call rapid fire. There does seem to be a certain attention put to each, so that is a plus. The deep fried Spring Roll has a nice crispy crunch, a telling sign that this is not a pre-packed frozen afterthought like so many others. The green vegetables inside lend a nice freshness to the chicken filling. An order of Crispy Pad Thai noodles proved interesting, that crunchy theme continued, but less successfully in the over sweet sauce. With the first bite, I really liked the sweet tart medley over the deep fried noodle, but with each subsequent mouthful, the sugary coating became too much. There was some interesting flavor there, almost a bit of the caramel of Cola, but I wouldn't order it again. That couldn't be said for the excellent Lemon Grass Fried Rice. This stir fried rice, with Pork, egg, onion, and basil was blended through with flavor that perfectly married the spicy hot of lemon grass paste. Easily the best dish of the night. BYOB makes the wait worthwhile, and there are a number of good wine shops nearby. read more

This restaurant underwent a revamping both with the name and the menu- They added a bunch of new stuff, notably the crispy pad thai, which is ridiculously good but also probably really unhealthy, probably why it's so delicious! We thought that the food had improved and on many levels it has but every time we try something new, it seems to disappoint. This last time we tried the stirfired soft shell crab in a garlic sauce. It tasted like it was frozen and was a little fishy, the sauce was ehhhhhh. I think if we just stick to what we know we like there, it's ok but it's so disappointing and waste of money to want to try new things only to be so..... disappointed. Still wishing they'd do the fresh rolls with shrimp and no iceburg lettuce. Luckily I can make them myself. read more

Place is very clean and the food is gourmet. This is easily the best Thai food around. Authentic! Only wish they offered Sushi, oh well.

Absolutely delicious. We had great service, a wonderful dinner (Pad see ew, chicken with cashew nuts, edamame) and really enjoyed it. We've also had the Pad Thai, Chicken Curry --- it's all good. For sure the best Thai food around, you won't be sorry. read more

Stayed in Newport from NJ and yelped Thai places. This one had 4.5 stars and we'll deserved. The Tom yum deserves a 4, the hot Basil fried rice has a lot of nice grilled veggies and flavor but a 4 also. The five stars is for my pork pad kee mao. Also my friend's hot Thai Basil entree give stars. read more

I was disappointed in the food after reading the other reviews:( The best part of our meal was the spring rolls (mainly the dipping sauce that came with them. Yum). My husband (who has been to Thailand) got Shrimp Tom Yum. He said it lacked...well, the Tom Yum. Very skimpy on the bulk of the soup. Usually one of his favorite dishes, he said this wasn't even comparable to other restaurants. I had Chicken Pad Thai. There was a major lack of flavor. The noodles were overdone and to be honest, the dish had the weirdest smell. Almost like way too much fish sauce was used in the actual dish, vise just cooking with it. We won't be going there again. Bummer... bc we love Thai food. read more

We went to Luk for the first time tonight. It was a very enjoyable evening. We choose to split an appetizer of fried spring rolls and the. Duck. The servings were generous. We have enough of our main course for one for lunch tomorrow. It is a BYOB establishment. It is definitely a place we will visit again. I am already looking forward to trying their noodle bowl. After tax and tip we spent $30. read more

I've only ordered one thing from Luk Thai- will adjust my review for my next experience. I love Thai food, and frequent Thai Excursion in Warwick. I got the Drunken Noodle from Luk Thai- they used the wrong noodle (listed as with wide rice- but it came with the pad thai noodle) The flavor was unpleasant and unlike any Drunken I'd ever had (no real taste of the garlic thai chili or basil. I was disappointed :( The Pad Se Ew looked decent- but lacked any good flavor Both dishes lacked the flavor of being cooked in the wok- limp soggy noodles. Service was nice & the restaurant itself is comfortable and nicely decorated. read more

Here is the good news: The food is authentic tasting and very good. The bad news: despite good food the staff/kids serving tables are so visibly miserable and demonstrably unhappy greeting (-none), taking orders, and serving you that it has pained us each time we wait between visits -long enough to dull the memory and return for another go. This last attempt has simply pushed us over the edge and out the door for good. Doesn't matter how good the food is, the experience has been miserable (save the time we went for lunch and the owner waited on us; he was lovely). As small restaurant/business owners ourselves, with two young daughters working for us, we know how difficult and trying each day can be. But I'll be damned if any of us ever let it show or treated our paying customers so poorly as to make them wonder if their patronage was in some way insulting. We have been nothing less than kind and polite, yet have been made to feel unwelcome at each visit. No more. read more

Their food is pretty good. I ordered the pad thai (my go-to Thai dish- I just love trying it at different places), and the flavor was slightly overwhelming. I was sick of eating it about halfway through the meal. Some people like food to be extremely flavorful, in which case, try the pad thai! I would go back, but I would try another dish next time. read more

Luk Thai - chicken pad thai - Thai Near Me - Wakefield, Rhode Island

Quaint, pleasant little dining room right on Main St in Wakefield. I only had the Green Curry chicken, which was ok but not really impressive to me. I thought the sauce was a bit thin and the flavor didn't quite do it for me. It wasn't bad though, and I thought enough of it that I would go back and try a few other things. Also, they have a 1-4 pepper scheme for sauciness and this was a 2 pepper dish, which was as hot as any dish came stock and indicated "spicy lover." It was not hot to me at all. Only the most sensitive palate might call it spicy, so maybe ask for 3 pepper if you really are a "spicy lover." That said, everything was fresh and seemed made to order, and the service was pleasant so don't shy away from giving them a try. read more

Luk Thai - Pineapple rice and salmon curry. Love the heart shape rice, makes me smile every time! Wish u could smell how good this looks! - Thai Near Me - Wakefield, Rhode Island

This place has gone downhill the past few years. *****AVOID at all costs**** On our last visit I ordered the lobster curry. My lobster arrived wrapped in saran wrap covered in curry. I could have chocked to death. I pointed out the problem to the waitress (white by the way so no language issue) and she said "well the chief is very busy". For the past 2 years you have been unable to order squid salad since the lady who used to make it passed away. Evidently this is a specialized skill. Either hire someone to make it or take it off the menu! read more

I'm a sucker for Thai curry. I used to think the food was a little bland but recently I noticed that they give you beginner spice level unless you ask otherwise. I asked for a 3 out of 4 spice level. And although it's pretty spicy it's right where I thought it should be and brought my average meals from before to the same level as the Thai restaurants I used to visit during my ten years in Hawaii. Great veggies in the dish and they are awesome and crunchy. Be sure to sub the sticky rice for the jasmine rice, it is Thai food right? read more

Unbelievable food. I ordered Drunken Noodles at 2 star spiciness... i was blown away. Simply out of control good. Going back there tonight!!

We've driven by this place so many times and have regularly talked about stopping by... We finally did so on a Sunday night. The atmosphere is great, the food is average, and the service is poor. The interior has lots of warm colors, is well decorated, and they have nice lights that they put on at night. For food, we ordered the scallion pancakes, fresh vegetable rolls, wonton soup, mango vegetarian fried rice, and a Thai iced tea. The pancakes, vegetable rolls, and wonton soup were all good, but nothing exceptional. The mango vegetarian fried rice came out as just vegetarian fried rice (no cashews, raisins, or mango) and our server totally forgot the Thai iced tea until we were paying the bill. The service was quite bad considering there was only one other table of two in the place. Our server, though nice, got the fried rice order wrong and forgot the iced tea until bill-writing time. After we finished our food, we were waiting - I kid you not - 15 minutes for her to bring the bill. Overall, great ambience, average food, and bad service. We do not plan to return, but are glad we gave it a shot. read more

Luk Thai has changed. Usually a go to place for us, we ordered take away Friday afternoon, 5:00 pm, and were very disappointed. The two orders of spring rolls were soggy and cool. The pork fried rice was void of any fresh vegetable except carrot strips and huge onion slices. The pad Thai, which I asked for without peppers, was just sauce and noodles, also free of anything fresh except large onion slices and chopped carrot. Tasteless, bland, blah, food. No napkins or soy sauce were provided in the bag, just a dipping sauce for the soggy spring rolls. All the freshness was gone from Luk Thai. Make another choice, we surely will. read more

For the life of me, I can't figure out why this place isn't more popular. Whenever I go, there are few people there. That's usually not a good sign! But, I love Thai food and this place can't be beat for the price. Although it's on Main St in the quaint old downtown area and easily accessible, it's easy to miss. Regardless, it is well worth the trip if you are in the area and want Thai food. read more

I lived in Thailand for 3 years, and this place does it right and has a level of spice for everyone (just ask). Not many Thai restaurants have som tom (papaya salad) and it is excellent here.
