Food is very overpriced for the amount of food given...only good part is slot points can pay there

Since BroS is constantly makin' it rain w/comps, we decided to stop by good ole LF. We're regulars. They're here and I want old kimchi. FYI these are overpriced eats so consider them when you've earned comps. As always the pics will be most informative and you're welcome. I appreciate that they offer Ten Ren teabags. I'm a fan of the brand's loose leaves and bagged teas. Did I mention that I like old kimchi? Often they're-a-plenty.....big portion for a side dish. I ain't complainin'. Their japchae entree tastes like lo mein but made with Korean glass noodles. Apparently I didn't mind since I ate it all. BroS got a little taste but before I realized, all ended up in mah belly. Magic. Full. String beans with beef had the familiar brown sauce taste so that combo paired well with rice. Chicken or shrimp were the other protein options. The xiao long bao "soup dumplings" were fun. If you're curious try 'em. Mouth was on fire because I was impatient. I crammed the still heat-hot souped dumplings each all in. I did that thrice. There were five of them and BroS passed me the extra. After I regained feelings in my mouth, I nibbled on a few pieces of the hot and sour cucumber side dish. Too sweet. Moving on back to the kimchi. I feel better. As always, efficient attentive servers and as always we'll be back dropping more of BroS' comps. read more

Pricey, small portions (especially the potstickers), nothing that will knock your socks off in terms of value, quality, or flavor. Staff is very attentive and nice. The noodle bowls looked like a larger portion. Did not order. Had the beef, pricey, was ok. Probably won't be back, tried this place three times. High bill, tiny amount of food. Decided to try here because everything else was closed. Ordered General Tso's chicken. The food was just ok. I didn't really like the meal so I didn't eat much of it. The waitress came by and asked did I want a to go box. I said no. She then proceeded to tell me "you waste" She was very nice but she did make me feel bad about leaving so much food to throw away but I just couldn't eat any more. read more

I use to like this place, but my last three visits have been awful and I will no longer return here. The quality of the food they prepare is lacking and items I have ordered don't match the menu. The most recent was the Vietnamese sandwich - Banh Mi which was on what tasted awful and they offered no concern. It was on old bread that was warmed up and completely dry. Unlike a normal version of this sandwich it has super small cut of jalapeño and cucumber which you could not even taste. Then previously I had a noodle dish which tasted like they poured a bag of salt on it and then lastly a dumpling that fell apart and lacked flavor. I understand a bad experience then a second, but three strikes and you are out in my book. read more

The pho was okay....had little rubbery pieces in it that we couldn't get past. The steamed dumplings were as big as the tip of your thumb. So not worth it. The taste was okay. Expensive, but what else can you expect from casino food. The water was good.... read more

Mom and I made the mistake of eating here on Friday 3/18/22. NEVER GOING BACK! I ended up with food poisoning and have been sick since 1am. The General Tao's chicken was a nightmare across the board! Food was way over priced and trust me when I tell you, wouldn't feed it to a cockroach. The server was nice as was the manager I asked for. My boyfriend and I were very disappointed with this place. The atmosphere, decor, and all the other small details prepare you to have a real pleasant, fine-dining experience. But, the food more so falls along the lines of strip-mall-grade Asian takeout. We ended up spending $89 and change (1 martini and 1 glass of wine incl.), and we're STILL hungry afterwards. Granted, the Crab Rangoon was absolutely delicious the presentation was sad. As for the sloppy sushi rolls and beef-lacking Mongolian beef, I can't say the same. We were also never tended to by a server, outside of getting our menus and food order (plus our table was dirty when we arrived for our reservation and a woman came and cleaned it while we were eating?) If you're looking for a great excuse to pass a bowel movement (#deuce) then you chose the right place. And for only the steal of a value of $22.46 after tax nonetheless! And what else do you get for that deal you ask? Well I'm glad you asked, because my stomach has answers that my butthole can attest to. He tried to warn my mouth not to do this to us, but my stupid brain, (the same one that desperately and hangrily payed the $22.46) decided we must just get it over with. And what else?? Well you get some very stringy questionably thin sort of meat (they called it crispy garlic chicken) that I had to spit out most of to get through, I'm not saying it was cat meat... but it is very easily what I would imagine fried feline to feel like if I were to eat it. Girlfriend and I sat for a quick lunch at Luk Fu and were treated to a delicious, well served meal. We ate light and shared a freshly prepared shrimp tempura roll, crunchy and flavorful spring rolls made from scratch, and steamed pork buns which were savory and well seasoned. The food came quickly and with copious smiles, and the server was attentive to us at all times. We used our casino comps to pay for half of the meal and the transaction was handled swiftly without issue. We are excited to come back and try some entrees for dinner on our next visit! read more

It's more like "just ok" as some other reviews have said. The 2.5 star average rating is pretty spot on. The chaxiu bao was decent, but the har gow was pretty bad. The noodles saved the experience. Not only were the combination noodles the best value but they also tasted good. Service was good and the décor is actually very nice. Cheap wine prices...but cheap wine. If I do get a chance to write a review, it's either very poor or very well. Unfortunately in this case our experience was extremely horrible. We should have checked the reviews before we went. Overall 2 1/2 star My wife and I went for her birthday, Jan 4. We ordered the crab rangoon and shumai dim sum. Had I know the Dim sum would be bite size I wouldn't have spent 8+ dollars for it. I know where you can get meatball size dim sum for half the price... anyway the crab rangoon was good. My wife ordered the Pad Thai, she can handle spicy however this was extremely spicy for her. I ordered the seafood pan fried noodle and was expecting $23 dollars worth. I maybe got 3 shrimp total and squid that was also bite size and maybe 3 in amount. I was extremely disappointed. Ended up switching plates because my wife couldn't handle the spice for the pad Thai. We told the waitress about our luck maybe with dinner.. she just said okay and walked away. One other thing, as for drinks. I ordered water and my wife got a Sierra Mist. Since the Pad Thai was so spicy she asked for a water, instead the waitress, Tracy, took her cup of Sierra Mist and put water in it and brought it back.. we tasted it and it was a mix of Sierra Mist and water. So after 5-10 minutes our waitress came back and made sure to have two separate drinks for my wife, a Sierra Mist and a water. Didn't want to leave a tip after that but.. felt as we needed to as she presented the machine to checkout at our table and specifically said tip. I enjoyed my sushi roll and the bartender was nice to me but then I witnessed her refuse service to 3 black men in a row. She was prompt and courteous to myself (white woman) and the Asian man next to me, but when a black man came up and ordered a drink she ignored him and busied herself with other things until he went away. Then she just straight up ignored the next two black men that came to the bar and politely waited for service until they went away too. This was all done in the presence of the manager there. This is a rare occasion when I did not read a Yelp review before I decided to give this place a try. I was aiming for the roast duck soup noodles and it did not disappoint me at all. Service was kinda rushed, but what do yo expect? You're in a casino and it's an Asian restaurant, of course it's gonna be sucky! I do not write reviews but I was drastically inconvenienced and scammed from this place. I was hired to perform for a private event at the Live! Casino and Hotel. I and the rest of my cast mates received vouchers for meals for $25 each. Upon receiving the bill, the waitress nor the manager currently working would not redeem more than 2 vouchers on our bill because we apparently did not specify from the beginning that we were all on separate checks and its impossible to apply more according to the "finance department". That statement is a total lie because not 6 hours before this encounter, we ate lunch without explicitly saying we were splitting the bill and our server accepted 6 vouchers after splitting our bill for no problem. Beyond not wanting to accept the vouchers, the servers immediately treated me different upon seeing the meal, as if I wasn't going to tip due to the voucher which they wouldn't accept if you didn't spend the whole amount on top of the whole ordeal we faced. Food was 4/5 stars, not awful but not amazing for a seemingly upscale restaurant in a popular hotel however the headache that this experience plus the one at lunch dropped it dramatically. 1 star but I wish I could put less. read more

Luk Fu is located inside the Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover MD. You must be 21 years old to enter the casino floor where the restaurant is situated, near the baccarat tables and VIP room. The service was excellent. The hostess quickly seated us and the staff explained each dish and gave their recommendations based on what we told them we would like. We were greeted by a manager after we got our drinks. I had the best bubble tea I've tasted since moving to this area. Shortly afterwards our appetizers arrived. The potstickers were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I know, I know. I used a fork but my dining companion made quick use of the chopsticks provided. As we were served our second appetizer, the executive chef Joe came out to check on us. He was so nice to give us advice on how I best sample our ...gosh, I suddenly can't remember what they're called. Served in a steam container they looked like little wrapped packages full of a broth and meat. He suggested a small bite first as to not release all the delicious broth at once. He was very warm and answered all our questions about the rest of the menu. I learned he has also worked for casinos in Atlantic City, California, and Las Vegas. This guys knows his stuff. The restaurant is set to open officially at the beginning of June. This month they are hosting previews to test their operations and fine tune everything. I think that's a great idea. Two visits to Luk Fu have made it clear that this won't be the great late night option we'd hoped it would be. Spotty service and overpriced, bland food isn't worth it. Visit one: We had a few service issues the first time we came in, including a very long wait to have someone come take our order sheet, a long wait to receive our food, and a long enough wait to receive our change from paying our bill that we legitimately worried that they had thought we were tipping the entire balance (even though we'd asked for change). D was not thrilled about this service, even though I noted that the hands-off and brusque approach was somewhat expected with a dim sum place. We shared an order of soup dumplings, steamed pork buns, and chicken satay. The bao were gummy and stuck to my teeth, and the pork didn't have the great flavor or succulent texture that we've come to expect from other places like Zhongshan. The soup dumplings had no discernible soup in them. That's all. They were just round gyoza without the flavor, and no explosion of broth. Very disappointing. The satay was tender but almost flavorless without the sauce. It was nice that the chicken was cooked all the way through, but it definitely wasn't marinated enough for flavor. And the "cucumber salad" was a few plain pieces of cucumber, no marinade on them at all. Visit two: They were out of soup dumplings, so we were unable to give them a second try on that front, so I decided on gyoza and gave the chicken lo mein a try. This may seem like a strange choice from this menu, but I love fresh noodles and I wanted to give them an opportunity to do something well, and I wasn't in the mood for a soup noodle. I sat at the kitchen bar, and got to watch the prep and line cooks working. The grill was being cleaned very thoroughly, which meant that my gyoza didn't come out until well after my noodles had. That's fine, except that they weren't cooked through and were very bland. Probably the first time in my life that I have not finished an order of dumplings! The lo mein was okay, not too oily but not too flavorful either. I added a good amount of Sriracha and that livened it up, but still wasn't much different from delivery quality. I have eaten in Luk Fu many times already. The food is authentic and very good. The dim sum is the best in the area. The Xiao Long Bao is exceptional and has become a new favorite dish of mine. If you have never eaten this dish, you should take a small bite out of the side to drink the soup before eating it, it can be very hot. Also the Shiu Mai is something that you will crave once you have had it. The main courses are very generous. Some of my favorites so far Kalbi Ribs and Mongolian Beef. I have also had the duck, which is served traditional Chinese style (with the bones), and it was excellent (but eat it slow). The experience is also very nice. I like to sit at the bar and talk to the chefs while they are making the food. I can't imagine a better way to verify how fresh and hot the food is, it is prepared right in front of you. Service is very friendly and most of the servers speak Chinese and English. It is loud due to the noise coming from the casino, but I liked that. I could hear the roars coming from the Baccarat tables while I was eating which was very exciting, those players were winning! One Negative, due to its location (in the middle of the casino), you must be 21 years old to enjoy this restaurant. read more

The restaurant in the casino was cute and trendy with the red and black colors. My companion had been wanting to try this place since he last saw it. The server we had was very kind and tried to be helpful but we could see she was in a rush because they were busy. The restaurant was filled with people so we had hopes despite the reviews. We ordered dim sum and the seafood noodles. The dim sum we ordered was shui mai, har gau, and crispy shrimp balls which were not good and did not taste fresh. The soup dumplings were probably the only thing we could enjoy. The seafood soup was so bland and had no flavor at all even after adding the sauce and siracha. The waitress was kind enough to allow us to replace it with a noodle dish the same price. We tried the beef chow fun which was alright. The level of disappointment for this $100 meal....not sure I can put it into words. The prices are over inflated for the quality and portion sizes. The sushi was remedial. I have been a patron of Luk Fu for some time, so the details of the events I am about to share was quite a shock as I experienced it. A group of sister-girlfriends and I had planned to do dinner and chose to restaraunt hop at Live. Luk Fu was the 2nd stop. I made reservations and requested the Chef Table. Upon arrival, on time for our reservations, the manager/hostess advised me we could have the Chef Table, despite my request via my reservation. She then proceeded to advise it was $68 per person. I asked what did that have to do with anything. So to keep the positive and enjoyable momentum we already had after being treated well at Dave's, I conceded and asked for a table per my reservation for 6. It was clear they were not prepared to seat my party. After 2 tries, we were seated. We ordered drinks, sushi and then I ordered some of the specials, the lobster and crab fried rice (the seabass with black bean sauce was no available). And again, I was informed of the price of the specials, to which I responded with a disgusted look and asked what does that have to do with anything. We had planned to enjoy Luk Fu for at least 2 hours, as our next reservation at Prime was set. But after the constant unsolicited advisement of prices, we concluded our time much earlier, paid the bill and left 0 tip with a note. This is the first time I have ever been so inclined to do such. Thank goodness Prime was were we did dinner and made up for the reminder to Fortune 100 VPs and Directors of how much things cost at Luk Fu. If you can look the part, you may not encounter this, as this was definately a first for me after many times dining here to include with clients. The worst! We got the sushi happy hour rolls. The California roll and shrimp tempura were just a step above grocery stores shish .. which is always a bad idea. The salmon roll we ordered was bad.. like the salmon had gone bad! We complained to our waitress and she did let us order something else but she acted like we didn't know how to order raw sushi vs this salmon will give me salmonella! Quick, soild place to grab noodles at Maryland Live! casino. This is not the place you are going to go to for a full on meal exploring the best of Chinese cuisine. But it is in the casino, conveniently located close to thee poker room, and the noodles are reliable and relatively cheap. It was even cheaper when it was a smaller counter attached to the backside of the buffet. But the atmosphere has improved, and the menu has gotten larger, so the slight increase in price still makes it decent deal. They do not have a bar close at hand, so if you want a beer or something else it may take longer than you might think. Otherwise service is good. read more

I don't know what the proprietors are thinking but if the are going to charge $14 for 5 soup dumplings, it didn't taste authentic nor was it any better than what I get from mom & pop store in Chinatown. I've dined here multiple times and have always been a fan. It's mall Cantonese food inside a casino so don't expect anything fancy. Its over priced and your not going to be blown away with service. I'm giving this location a high rating because food has always been consistent with flavor, speed and portion size. I've ordered their bento boxes, roast duck noodle soup, fried rice, bubble tea and Vietnamese coffee in the past. Flavor is always on point, not to salty, seasoning is consistent with Cantonese flavors. Now if your in the casino and you don't feel like eating at the steakhouse, burger place and waiting for the sushi restaurant to open unfortunately this is your only option. I don't know what happened. I've been coming to Luk Fu for a long time and their food and customer service are great. Now, the service sucks and food does not taste good anymore. I ordered a salt & pepper pork chops but they gave me a lemongrass pork chops. This is the 2nd time they did that. Another, I ordered a gen tso chicken and it looks like they used a chicken nuggets and just added gen tso's sauce. My taro bubble tea is watered down. My shiu mai is not cooked. So sad.
